Alright excited to finally get this started! We're good on numbers but if anyone else wants to join there's still a little time.

Idea being in a high fantasy setting a evil ruler asks an old fortune teller if anyone can stop his conquest. She pulls several tarot cards that depict several heroes who could defeat him. Your job is to make a your character based off these loose concepts I present or come up with your own. Fill the concept anyway you see fit just remember, no overpowered characters! As for the world, except standard d&d fair, with several original creatures and whatever you guys want to create.

Normal rules. If your going to be gone for long periods of time please let us know so we can work something out. Be kind to each other in the ooc, you can hate each other in the role-play, just be polite in chat. Try to give at least a paragraph length post, I understand that's not always possible, but please try to avoid one liners (unless your Ash Williams in which case, Groovy.).

Character Sheet works as below, please post in the ooc and wait for approval before putting it in the character tab.

Now for the tarot cards! If there is a dispute over who wants what, will work it out.

@Cuddle Pot, if possible, could we have an overview of the sort of reigning races and trends of magic? It is relevant for my person, as well as many others I am sure, to know the general way the world works. For example, when you say "The Great Beast", I imagine the character that is either barely mortal humanoid or simply not at all - perhaps a mythic monster or legendary animal. Just an overview of the way the world is would aid in understanding the way races and cards might fall into place, as well as day to day life expectations.

I'm with harbinger on this one, too. Though I will take innocent devil. As you had said previously, it is standard D&D fair, it is a pretty broad spectrum.

So I had intended to go one way with this character, and ended up going a totally different way after doing a quick google search for 'innocent devil', once I made it through all of the smut I found references to the Castelvania game series, and while I am aware of them, I have never played them. Apparently, an innocent devil in the game is more or less a golem constructed from evil summoning juju whose primary purpose is defense. I am taking that really boiled down idea and applying it to my character. I will more or less play the golem, and I would have an npc, primarily for flavor that is the summoner/creator of the golem who is to be protected by me. She will be there for interactions and such, but would have basically no role in any combat scenario. The golem doesn't speak, simply makes a gravely grunt sound, which can mean absolutely nothing. Or, rather I play the girl who commangs the golem. Which ever way you want to look at it.

I hope this meets your approval. Let me know if you want me to tweak anything.

@Mr Rage your character is fin, and if you want play as both the girl and the golem. BTW I actually own the Castlvania game you are referring to and its a great game.

@MonkeyBusiness go for it.

@The Harbinger of Ferocity Sure thing i'll give you guys an overview. Also regarding your character, go either way with him, i personally think a powerful animal/ creature would be an interesting thing to play as but all up to you.

Magic works in many different ways. We are using most of the d&d styles. Arcane spells can be used either through careful and methodical study of spell books and scrolls or by the mage exerting his or her free will on the forces of magic or a combination of both. Some use their affinity with nature to bend it to their will, or help intune themselves with its power. Divine spell casters beseech their gods for a sliver of their strength to smite their foes.

In the center of the kingdom is a massive swamp know as Krallesh's grave. It was once a fertile beautiful plane until the tyrant dragon Krallesh was slain there spoiling its beauties forever. In its center in the Black heart bog, were our fortune teller lives.

Feel free to make up your own kingdoms and species, and if you have any further question feel free to ask.

Now that there's world info, I'm debating whether or not to try to join. Just how creative/flexible can someone be with the tarot card's meaning?

@Ojo chan 42 Blind sorcerer is definitely still open, only ones taken so far are Wandering Knight, and Innocent Devil. Silent Martyr, The Cursed, and the great Beast are reserved. But everthing else at this point is fair game.

@DarkwolfX37 You can be very flexible with how the character fits the card. Just be prepared to justify how it fits if there is any confusion

@Turbowraith Your character is good, feel free to put him in the character tab.

@Cuddle Pot, here is the submission. If you are curious as to anything about it, I have reference material; given you seem to be familiar with Dungeons and Dragons, it is little more than a typical cleric and prestige paladin variant build.

@The Harbinger of Ferocity Your character is very interesting just one point. I'm gonna have to say no on the revival ability. For fairness if someone dies it should be permanent or at least a large ordeal to restore them to their rightful selves. Other than that your good.

Bah. I wanted Merchant of Death but couldn't come up with an idea quickly enough. Make a good one, @sakurasan~
I'll reserve "Bright-eyed Scholar," then. Might be a day or two before I'm happy enough with my current idea to submit it as a CS, so hopefully that's okay.

I imagine a five thousand gold sacrifice in diamonds would be hard to acquire, which is what I was basing my interpretation from given it has some pretty lofty expectations. Being the recipient of Raise Dead is no small ordeal either for their person. But if that still does not suffice, even as just a potential option to return lost characters if their player wished it, I can and will remove it as requested.

On a more light note, I am pleased you find the concept of a divine force of nature very interesting.

@Ojo chan 42 Do a quick spelling check and then your good. As for two characters, I would write up a sheet and keep it on standby, but don't post it yet. Let's see if anyone without a character wants the slot.

@The Harbinger of Ferocity I've reviewed the raise dead spell and see the limitations. Something I haven't made very clear is that this isn't blow for blow d&d, but we are borrowing many of the creatures and how the systems of magic. Feel free to base spells and abilities off of d&d though. I'll allow the spell, and have an idea. In all honesty your party isn't likely to have 5,000 golds worth of diamonds laying around. So how about instead the spell requires the transfer of a donners life force. It would make the giver weaker, yet the more given is more energy returned to the fallen. Just a thought.

@DarkwolfX37 sounds good.

As I had reasoned, @Cuddle Pot, and the "sacrifice" of life for life works just well in concept as the symbolic sacrifice of the spell's caster and then of course the recipient themselves. I just wanted to make it an option for those who could potentially lose a character - the chance to be returned once more.

That said, fair enough to take it as approved?
