Current Posted a Game Master Guide in the Guides section. If you need help with GMing, refer to it for some handy advice. If you don't need help, then don't read it.

Bio

Hello all. I am an experienced writer who is writing my own fiction stories on the side. I can role play any genre. What I love most is being able to go-all-out when weaving tales with other writers. It just makes the story more interesting, so I can't wait to write with you. :)

I don't know why the site is screwed up today and double-posting everything I write. I only hit submit once.
@ZarkunHe usually posts about my Sunday, but he has until my Monday to post. I'll post it on my Monday (27th) your Sunday.
@RaddumIt would also create a paradox because we can't have two Handsome Jacks.
The site failed me and double-posted. Apologies.

I can't wait to surprise you all with this GM post. I got it finished except for Team Twos portion. Rah! I wish Toad Ropes was online to post so I can post this!

@RaddumYou should have consulted with me first because Handsome Jack is not going to be dead. He's going to be alive and one of the bad guys in this game too, which is why I tell people they're not going to play villains like...at all. The only way they can is if they choose to GM a mission.

I'm going to just go ahead and write this GM post since we're just waiting on Toad. That way, when he posts, I can easily make tweaks to the Team Two section, but I will have the other sections done. This post is going to be very significant story-wise.

Also clarifying, I won't post the GM post until after Toad posts for his character. He has one more full day.
@Mr Allen J@Raddum@Bounce

I’m going to give you some advice. I do find this idea interesting, but whether or not I decide to actually join depends on the speed this game intends to move because my weekdays are busy, and I tend to post when I can either through my phone or when I’m around a computer.

Let me begin by saying the advice I am offering you is based on my experience being the GM of a crossover game that’s large and still running actively. This is not a bragging rights thing. I am really sharing with you the pros and cons I’ve run into, and also telling you things that have worked and didn’t work throughout my time being on this site 90% as a GM and 10% as a player.

1. Multiverse.
You have several characters who are going to come from various backgrounds. While crossovers do happen in Cartoon Network, they’re still dimensional crossovers. What I did in my crossover game is I made a single universe to act as a hub where other universes intersect. That universe is the primary universe and the only time we venture into other universes is on missions.

2. Sandbox: Yes and No.
10% of the people on this site can actually write without the GM holding their hand. 90% cannot. 90% of the people on this site need guidance in order to function. You have role players and then you have writers. Writers can carryon without guidance. Role players need a GM/DM because they can’t really go forward on their own.

In my crossover game, we’re currently finishing up a mission in another universe, but when we return to the main universe, there will be a period of sandbox. This period of sandbox allows those writers who can interact with others and carryon their stories do so. For those role players who cannot do this, I will be making GM events that they can participate in for XP, prize items, etc. It keeps the game active and moving and not stalled. Once those events are done, we’re welcoming in the new recruits/players and going on another mission.

You do not want sandbox to stagnate. You also do not want to leave people hanging. I’ve done that before where I was like, “Sandbox mode go!” The game died because people didn’t do shit even when they were free to do so.

3. OCs
I think this defeats the purpose of this being a Cartoon Network game. People should already be re-imagining their Cartoon Network character choice, which makes them OC enough. If you’re allowing people to completely make up their own character, then you’ll get those BS characters that are often a hybrid of others or something like, “I am the son of Dexter!” or “I am the daughter of Steven and Pearl!” some BS like that.

4. What qualifies as a Cartoon Network show?
If it’s on Cartoon Network and nowhere else. Are you allowing Adult Swim shows? Because then we have Venture Bros, Robot Chicken, etc.

5. How will comedic characters fit in?
You should make your life easier by not dictating how people should be playing their characters, and instead, allow those players wanting to play that character re-imagine him or her how they want. So a comedic character may or may not be comedic. It will depend on how the player makes him or her.

6. Anything else?
I keep a constant revolving door for players. Some drop out quietly. Some get butt-hurt and drop out. Some go AWOL. Some lose their muse and get all mopey and leave. I constantly get new people to replace the ones that left for whatever reason. This has made my game survive for a very long time. The Pokemon game, I am surprised that’s still active because I’ve had the same people. So that one I was lucky and just got dedicated players. The crossover one is surviving on half-dedication and the other half, revolving door of out with the old and in with the new. So it may be best to keep that door loose.

I want to add because I forgot to add it. I have a 3-day posting policy during missions. If a player hasn't posted in 3 whole days, then they will skip them on the 4th day. This keeps the game moving so that those who are active don't have to wait and suffer over those who aren't as active.
@DracoLunarisThere's some more posts though that are misconstrued because a writer wanted to ignore an entire situation. I'm telling you, consequences. I'm not going to bother arguing with anyone about it because I know where all the mistakes are and they are easy to see if the turns are just proofread. I see them as they happen and I don't ask the writers to correct them because that would not only make this mission level A and not C, but I wouldn't be able to hand out consequences. Consequences teach the writer to pay attention and think. They also help writers grow because a lot of writers can't handle seeing their characters getting hurt, and if they can't handle that, then they need to leave this game and go RP in Mary Sue Academy. This isn't even a Delta mission where the consequences and possibility of death are higher and mission difficulty greater. Delta is only going to be granted to few characters and writers who have demonstrated they could possibly handle a more challenging mission.
@ToadRopesYou're the last one I'm waiting on before I move us along. I'm basically going to be punishing people this next post for not reading/reading comprehension fail, but it won't mostly be for that. Some of it will be for trying to do the impossible. Team Two is the one getting the most flack this mission and I think it's because they're the largest team. I notice writers tend to do poorly on the reading comprehension side when in a large group because instead of reading the GM posts, you rely on the description of other players and where one person says an enemy is and not where the GM says the enemy is. As far as enemy placement, the GM post should be the sole post you should be relying on for it.
