You said it was an entirely friendly rebel area, and it's basically 99.9% rebel friendly so you're pretty much right. The problem is that he's half your age, at a ramen stand, in the middle of the day, with an 'Empire' seal and you're tempted to draw out your scrolls as if he's threatening you simply by sitting beside you. Now his mistake might've been figuring out that by disliking him based on his Empire seal you're automatically a rebel, and then somehow figuring that because Takeo engaged her in small talk, that he was a rebel too. Now that is a CRAZY assumption and anyone smart would've told him he's overanalyzing this based on Matsuka being ridiculously paranoid with a kid half her age in a ramen stand, BUT you made that CRAZY assumption probable because as soon as Takeo showed up you were trying to keep quiet. You signal him in silence hiding your hands, and then immediately after he steps out you follow him and keep your voice low, implying you have something to hide from him.

So Ryo was insane for his assumption as he had very little to back it up since the Empire isn't popular, but your actions made it so everything crazy he thought of seemed more and more real. But again, who's going to believe him? Heavily-rebel friendly zone, no one's going to sell a rebel out, and all he has is a 'guess' and that's not going to be enough for anyone smart, so that basically 'saves' you right there. See what I'm saying?

Usually people put a big indicator like 'lol' or 'xD' or 'haha' when they're messing around, but mmkay.

As long as we're on the same page about what's going on.

If anyone thinks that Ryozan's reasoning is... unreasonable, here is a breakdown of why I feel it's perfectly reasonable for him to come to the conclusions that he did. If you're not interested, I'll put it in a hider.

Yeah, we get it, Matsuka made it super obvious, I already acknowledged it. I still don't agree with figuring Takeo is part of this, but again it REALLY doesn't matter in the end, he's got nothing but suspicion.

If you'll pay attention Matsuka trained in COMBAT, not subterfuge. Her entire shinobi life has been missions where force, not finesse was required. And she didn't ask "what's happening" the second time, she asked "what's going to happen to us", and the question was mostly rhetorical.

Also for future reference I abhors using silly emoticons to indicate satire. Just assume I'm fooling around unless the thing I'm commenting on is obviously an issue, or I say something like "seriously"

Yeah, and right now a kid can see through her like a book, and that hurts the rebellion if she can't even eat a bowl of ramen without raising questions. He had LITERALLY NOTHING but hunches until you kept trying to sneak interactions xD and at that point it was kinda done. Takeo can't even pull her out of this. But it's fine, he's got no one to tell really, and no proof. Relaaaaax. If it was worth killing him over, he'd be dead, but its really not worth anything for the reasons I mentioned earlier.

For the record, ninja should know how to not draw attention man, and I don't think there's that much justification in having an itchy trigger finger around his character, but choices were made and in the end it doesn't hurt anyone.

Again, he's seventeen years old, she is double his age, and all he wanted to do was eat some ramen and have a talk. If you want to rationalize this, feel free, but it's not going to be justified to certain people. If you're trained in combat and went on missions where 'force' is required, I think some guy sitting next to you at a ramen stand isn't very threatening when you've probably stared death in the face a few times. That's just me though.

You would also know not to underestimate a potential enemy, no matter how harmless he seemed. Remember that he opened his "talk" by posing a hypothetical ambush he might be part of, and explaining how the target could be inside the ramen stand.

Ryozan took a seat at the ramen stand, leaving an empty chair between Matsuka and himself, and ordered a small bowl. He wasn't very hungry, but it would look ridiculous if he sat down at a stand without ordering anything. He doubted that Matsuka would recognize a new Jounin like himself, so he figured it would be up to him to break the ice. "This has been some strange weather, hasn't it senpai?" he said in a calm, even voice. He looked over at the woman to see her reaction, unsure if he ought to offer her a handshake or not. Introductions were always rather awkward for him.


No, no he didn't chukkle. He talked about the weather. Then you went on a 'BETTER HIDE THAT SEAL SON CAUSE WE KILLS THEM EMPIRE FOLK ROUND THESE PARTS!' path and THEN you started talking about hypothetical stuff like 'If I WAS an Empire guy, would I do this?'.

Come on Chukkle, just admit Matsuka be trippin'.

You're really oversimplifying those second and third steps. Matsuka is not "tripping, she's responding to her instincts the way I created her personality. Do you have a problem with how I created my character?

Oh man now its not what you did in particular we're poking fun at, but your character in general? You're taking this much too personal; you gave Ruro ammo bro, and I pointed out, amused, that even Ruro was LOGICALLY PUTTING IT TOGETHER THAT MATSUKA WAS NOT NEUTRAL XDDDD

Yo but seriously don't make this about how you created your character, it's just about what she did. It's hilarious when you get down to it.

I'm not denying that her paranoia is amusing, but you keep talking like it was some kind of mistake I made. That's just how Matsuka IS, she has a hard time dealing with people outside a battlefield, training field, or bar
