Vinos Lux ~ 25 ~ Male ~ Paladin


"The Lady has mercy... I do not"


Weapon:
Smite- A blessed great sword that deals damage to evil people and creatures. The weight of the sword makes it unwieldy to smaller, weaker people. Like the Aegis of Vengeance it will gain power as Vinos grows, dealing even more damage to the followers of the dark and eventually allowing the blade to burn with fiery retribution.

Armor:
Aegis of Vengeance- A suit of armor made specifically for the vessel of vengeance when the lady first descended from the sky. It has been handed down from one generation to the next and has finally found its way into the use of Vinos, the current vessel. The armor, at first glance, looks fairly mundane if not a little intimidating but if you were to look at it with more spiritually inclined eyes you will see that it is much more. The armor is locked, meaning that Vinos cannot exit the armor until the next vessel is chosen. This can take any were from several years to several centuries. The magic imbued within the armor keeps the wearer alive at the cost of touch and sensations of the skin. As the wearer gains strength the armor will to improve, gaining magical defenses against the elements and darkness. But for now it only provides the protection of armor, which is good enough for Vinos.

Accessories:
Rosary of the Lady- Not only is it a prayer tool for the Lady but as he prays it gains power. When enough prayer has charged the rosary it can be harnessed as a blinding white light, an annoyance to people of pure heart but unleashing burning retribution to those whose hearts have fallen form grace.

Skills: Wields Smite with expert control, has a will of iron, can read ancient texts and grants blessings of the Lady to people worthy of them.

Personality: Vinos doesn't have much of a personality, being the vessel of vengeance ensured that. While other paladins learned how to spread the word of the Lady and defend her people, Vinos was trained to punish those who have defiled her. From a young age that has been forged into his mind and as a result, personality took the back seat. However that doesn't mean that he is an emotionless machine. Contrary to what he says he does have mercy, when confronted with those uneducated with the will of the Lady he will allow them to repent and learn the true meaning of service. But to those who deliberately go against her will and actively defy and defile her, well he gives no quarter or mercy.

If you were to dig down deeper you will find a man who still feels wonder to the world around him, who finds pleasure in things as simple as a sunrise or the laughter shared between friends. Yet Vinos does not know how to partake in acts of camaraderie and joviality, a life of rigid discipline and hardship have deprived him of it. As a result he is a social cripple, unknowing of social etiquette and sensitivities. Perhaps he can learn how to become human through his travels instead of a tool of divine will.

Brief Bio: When Grandrasil conceived Vinos he descended from the sky in a ball of fire, landing in the lands in front of the monastery of the Lady. When the monks and paladins arrived and found nothing a babe in the crater they took it as a sign. Taking the young Vinos into the monastery they soon realized that he was not a normal child, while he grew, bled, and felt like a normal child he was stronger, faster, and smarter than them as well. When the time came for organization into the ranks of the order his color from the pool was a oily, brimstone smelling black instead of the silver or white of the paladins and monks. It was then they knew, Vinos was to be the new vessel of vengeance.

From that moment on Vinos was separated from the other children and trained privately by the high monks of the Lady. For many years he endured the training, both physical and mental until he was ready for his final test. Soon after his 20 birthday Arkair came, the past vessel of vengeance and challenged Vinos to a test of might, will, and heart. In the test of might Vinos had to wield Smite in a battle, not faltering or dropping it in any way. The test was hard but Vinos passed and moved on the the second. The test of will had Vinos stand in the middle of a village, one not aligned with the Lady and endure the ridicule of the ignorant. This test was much harder, he even almost failed when a man dared to spit on the rosary but in the end he passed. Lastly was heart, the hardest of them all. Taking the key of ascension, Vinos had to unlock Arkair. With a heavy heart Vinos twisted the key and passed the test, but not without wisdom from Arkair before he joined the lady, [i]"While we are tools of the Lady, do not lose yourself in the fires of vengeance... if you do, you will fall farther than any sinner could."

Taking Arkair's words to heart, Vinos entered the armor and was locked in, finally becoming the vessel of vengeance in its entirety. Taking his leave from the monastery, Vinos traveled in the opposite direction of his home and continued to walk. Bringing divine retribution to scum and avenging the innocent, teaching them about the word of the Lady along the way. However now the war has come to his attention fully, locking himself in an inner conflict. Each side is guilty of crimes against the innocent and the Lady, but they are to big to take on by himself. It is a conundrum that has plagued him for about a year now. Until he can find a way to end both sides he stays neutral, fighting against both sides.

Name: David "Dave" Conway

Personality: Proud, happy, outgoing, these are some of the words that describe Dave. Being from a muggle family he has gained a lot of scrutiny from others, something that he usually answers with a swift punch to the face. Other than that he is not quick to anger and in fact one of the most laid back people you will know. His outgoing, accepting nature makes it easy for him to make friends but he has had a hard time making TRUE friends, something he feels he needs. On another side Dave is incredibly brave, something his father has taught him, "Even if you are scared, fight on. That is the true measure of bravery." While Dave has the potential to become a powerful wizard he lacks the motivation to do so, the knowledge he can is good enough for him.

House: Gryfindor

Blood Status: Muggle born

Animagus/Metamorphmagus: Nope.

Anything else? Quidditch? Other Stuff?:
-Dave didn't go into the wizarding world blind, his family has had a history of witches and wizards before, in fact his uncle is a wizard.

-Does not like Quidditch or flying for that matter, instead he loves boxing and driving his motorcycle.

-Knows how to cast the patronus charm, his uncle has taught it too him over several years and he now can cast it without problem. The happy memory is when his father knocked down the heavy weight champion in the boxing league back in the muggle world and patronus is a lion.

-On that note Dave knows how to box. while lacking his fathers immense size, inheriting his mothers more slender but athletic build, he can still throw a massive punch and is how he usually settles his disputes with the pure bloods.

Manus, God of Stars, Man, and Wonder

In its humanoid form Manus is extremely vast, its form completely incomprehensible to its children. It looks vaguely like its children, leaning more towards masculine features like broad shoulders and a defined chest, but in truth has no established gender and in fact has been seen as male and female among his children's varied religions.

Appearance-


Personality- Carson is a strong man, not only physically but mentally. He has seen horrible things committed by likewise horrible people and he hasn't broken, not yet. He tries to keep peoples spirits up, something of an eternal optimist without the eternal. A slight pessimism has infected that. As such, Carson knows when a ship is sinking and that a situation sometimes can't get better. Bad things happen to good people and he knows this, taking it to heart somewhat. He just tries to not add to it.

Tier-1

Power/Magic-
Weapon augmentation: Any object Carson can use as a weapon can be infused with a red, fiery energy that enhances the weapons effectiveness. However the nature of the augmentation causes the effected object to turn to dust once done and can only be done once every four hours.

The augmentation is different for different types of weapons.
Blunt- Causes small explosions of energy when struck against something.
Blades- Causes any cut or stab to slowly disintegrate the body, does not work against inorganic material.
Projectiles- Ammunition used turns highly destructive, ripping both cover and people apart.

Bio- Carson grew up in a bad part of a distant city, he doesn't like to talk about it much. He never did too well in school and was always focused on what he could do with his hands, be that building things or beating the other kids up. Eventually he grew up, as all kids do, and graduated from being a general bully to a thug who pushed others around. As you can already tell, this didn't end well for Carson. While beating up some guy who insulted him, he got arrested for assault. However since he was just a minor he didn't get much besides a slap on the wrist and a dissapointed talking too by the police officer who arrested him. After that something changed in Carson, instead of blowing off what the officer said like he usually did from any authority he decided to turn his life around and when he could enlisted into the army.

In the army he learned many of the values that he has today. Integrity, honor, fellowship, and much more. He finally felt like he belonged. In his service he was in many small time firefights, with several big ones that cost him friends. But this was nothing when they had to hold off an attack from a group of rebels. While him and his comrades were better equipped, there was just too many rebels and slowly, one by one, they began to fall. Carson only got out alive because one of his friends hid him underneath his dying body. After that Carson was never truly the same, the light had died in his eyes and the allure of service seemed much less appealing. He never reenlisted. Soon after his twenty second birthday Carson moved to Naveria and has been living off of saved up money in a cheap apartment.

Personal-
Integrity- Carson may be many things. A soldier, a killer, a drunkard, but he is not a lier. No matter what happens he can be counted on to keep his word and wont lie unless very specific circumstances have occurred. Take that what you will.

Dog Tags- These dog tags have two sets on them, his and his friend. John Marsh. These are very dear to him and he is seldom seen without them.

Standing 6'3 Drusus casts an intimidating shadow amongst many people, however that pales in comparison to his gaze. There is something about the way he stares that drives warriors to falter. As a former knight of Kantle and just generally being a warrior have given Drusus quite the collection of scars, the most impressive one being the brand over his heart. The brand is an oath of sorts, marking the wearer as a servant to the king of Kantle. The brand looks like this.

Personality: Unlike the other knights of Kantle who are bloodthirsty, sadistic, and cruel, Drusus was more honor bound and level headed. Because of this he felt like he never truley belonged to his peers, nor did he want to. To Drusus, they were nothing more than thugs and were not worthy to take up the title of knight. However this doesn't make Drusus a shining angel either, he is arrogant and completely confident in his abilities as a warrior, not taking kindly to outside help. Not one to lie, Drusus' word can be taken for what it is, if someone decides to not believe him matters not to him.

Bio: You could say Drusus was born with blade in hand, he was always good in the arts of war and it was no surprise that he became a knight. After many years of service something didn't sit right with him anymore. The raids and battles against soldiers and civilians didn't spark any excitement anymore and his comrades actions were beginning to disgust him more and more until finally he snapped. After stopping a random beating, Drusus and the knights had an altercation, one that cost them their life's. Ever since then Drusus has been on the move, never staying in one place for too long and the sizable bounty keeps his skills sharp with the added bonus of keeping adding to his reputation. For now their is no greater joy in his life than mocking the king of Kantle with his continued existence.

Skills: A superb swordsman, Drusus was the most skilled warrior among the lot of knights of Kantle. The only reason he wasn't in the kings guard was of his differential ideals, the king wants unquestioning robots and not free thinkers. Drusus is also very good at getting what he wants, either through letting his reputation speak for himself or if that fails, using his trademark intimidation to scare people into submission.

Other: Drusus exclusively prays to Ragnorik the Mighty, feeling that Elgar'nan the Vengeful is too petty.

Name: The Swarm

Age: Have been around since the first beings felt the pangs of hunger.

Abilities:
-Regeneration: If a piece of the swarm is killed a new one will replace it soon after.

-Speed: Slither at about the same speed as a man at full sprint.

-Hunger: Cannot stop eating and will eat anything.

-Mind Speak: Those near the swarm will feel itching inside their minds. It doesn't speak as much as the words are felt, an alien thought that enters your mind.

-Total immortality: As a force of nature you can't truly kill the Swarm. You may break it, burn it, eat it, shoot it, slice it... it wouldn't matter. Your just prolonging the inevitable. If you prove troublesome pray the Swarm will leave you alone, eventually you will weaken. They are always watching.

-Wail: While they fear nothing, the swarm does feel pain. Once a piece of the swarm is killed it will release a scream that signals the rest of the Swarm to its location.

Bio: The Swarm has always been there, ever since the first being began to feel hunger. Since then The Swarm has been right on the heels of the living, picking at the scraps they left behind. A being here, an entire planet there. The Swarm has been to countless worlds, consuming them all... well almost. After learning that once a planet is consumed of everything it has, it can't give back. That's what happened to your precious dinosaurs, at least that's what it says. Man is a fool to think that they are alone in the universe, even more so for believing that they were important. In the end all will be consumed.

Weapons: Teeth and talons. Digestive acid will burn through anything given enough time, and bodies.

Weakness:
-Each part of the Swarm is just as vulnerable as any other animal
-As the hunger on this world is higher, only small packs roam the planet. A single pack is only about a dozen pieces strong.
-Stupid, initially. Will learn from mistakes however.
-The hunger is their only driving factor, they have no allies nor the ability to make them.

Name: Bulwark

Race: Cybertronian, Allegiance- Autobot

Equipment: Twin shoulder mounted cannons that fire high explosive shells. Left arm turns into blade. Chest houses plasma cannon. "The Guardian", a large shield that blocks all but the most powerful attacks with the help of its sturdy frame and protective forcefield it generates around it, blades along the sides can be used as an emergency weapon.

Appearance:

-Vehicle form is an Oshkosh heavy equipment transporter.

Biography: Bulwark wasn't the model citizen, in fact he wasn't even an Autobot until late in the war. Originally Bulwark was just a mercenary. During the war he worked for both sides, killing his fair share of both Decepticons and Autobots. However as the war dragged on and on, Bulwark felt something nagging at his conscience like a magnet pulling on metal shavings. It finally clicked when he was hired by some Decepticons to take out a group of Autobots that turned out to just be civilians who didn't want to leave. For Bulwark that was the last straw. After returning from the mission and clearing out the Decepticons that hired him, Bulwark sought out the Autobots and did his best to make up for his past misdeeds.

It took decades but he finally was an accepted member of the Autobots and he took that fact with much pride. When the war cooled down Bulwark traveled with other Autobots until he got the message from Earth.

Personality: To sum up Bulwark all you need to know about him is that he is honorable, loyal, and friendly. First bot in, last one out. Bulwark is a lead from the front kind of guy on the few times he has been placed in leadership roles, never asking a bot to do something he wouldn't do himself. He would never leave a man behind and will fight to his last to protect those underneath his protection. Underneath all this is a bot that knows he has made mistakes, he's just trying to correct some before his time comes.

Abilities:

- Due to the "Wrath-Borne" mutation that runs through his DNA, Arger has the ability to turn into a monstrous engine of pain and destruction. His strength is raised tenfold, most weapons bounce off his hide, and his rage is so powerful that psychics could not enter his mind for fear of insanity. However all this power comes with a price. As his form changes and grows, any armor he had before hand is destroyed. His wrath is so self destructive he cannot come up with any better plan than shred, crush destroy, and allies and enemies all look the same.

Skills: As a warrior Arger knows how to use hand to hand weapons, maces in particular, but his favorite weapon is his hands. With natural claws to add to the races great strength, Arger can rend through anything less than steel with just his hands.

Rank: C

Brief Bio/History: Arger hails from the planet Iratelles, a harsh and unforgiving land. Almost every living thing on the planet is carnivorous and as such the creatures that call the land home have evolved to fight. The Irabelu have been around for a long time, the only reason they haven't gained space flight for themselves is because they are still waging wars amongst themselves and don't care much for the stars if there are things to eat and people to kill. The Irabelu are one of the few species that can match the Ebolorians in strength, endurance, and durability. The only feature they lack is their cunning. The Irabelu aren't known for their smarts and because of this they are easily manipulated by others. While they Irabelu don't have their own space travel, many species hire them aboard as use of bodyguards, mercenaries, and manual laborers (Rarely).

From this environment Arger prospered, being larger than most of his kind by about a whole head and shoulders Arger was almost perfect except for one problem. When he first changed he destroyed most of the village and killed almost everyone. With that incident it was clear what he was and for it he was shunned. Enraged he cut a swath through the countryside and would have killed many more if he hadn't been sold to the Ebolorians. When they came for him he put up quite the fight, killing the mercenaries and injuring the Ebolarian before it took him down. The only reason he wasn't killed on the spot was that the Ebolarian liked his spunk and seeing a way to make some cash fast, sold him for quite a lot of money to the arenas.

Affiliation: None but himself, but will work with those that gain his loyalty.

Age - Unknown, Five years active.

Powers -
Durability: Stronger than normal wood, able to resist bullets but is just as susceptible to fire as normal wood.
Strength: At base strength, able to lift 10, 20 tons. But if fertile soil is involved his strength can be raised exponentially.
Regeneration: Able to regrow damage at a speed proportional to the fertility of the ground he rests in. E.X. complete regrowth in about a week at the most fertile.
Plant speak: Able to "Converse" with plants, knowing what it has gone through. Good for investigation.
Skills -
Gardening: Helps with being part plant, but is an exceptional gardener and knows much about plants. Doesn't think its much help though.
Fighting: Isn't all that great, clumsy swings and sloppy slams and uncoordinated punches. Isn't very graceful.

Equipment - None.

Personality - Simple, slow, and relaxed.

Appearance -

BRIEF Bio - Not much is known about Forest's past, one day he woke up in a swamp and found himself like he is. A giant mass of branches and stones. He wandered the swamps for awhile, with nothing but animal instincts to go by until he had a vision. It was nothing major, just a flash of blank faces and and vague actions, but it was enough to give him sentience and a purpose.

Leaving the swamp he has made his way around the country, gaining more flashbacks and more humanity along the way until he made his way to Gotham. For reasons unknown to him he felt pulled to the area and was found by Batman after a confrontation with some armed thugs. Since then Batman has kept tabs on him, making sure he isn't a menace to society and such. However with the hard times coming Batman needed some muscle and Forest still owed Batman a debt. Now he finds himself here.

Notes - Forest is tall, like 12 feet and almost a thousand pounds.
-He is almost like a child in a sense, little things fill him with wonder and awe.
-I want it to be a development point for Forest to gain more knowledge of his past as the RP goes along.

Name: Davis "Dave" Matthews

Alias: Breakdown

Appearance:






Dave's skin is all a solid, glowing orange and instead of normal hair growing out of his head energy flows out and disapates into the air. Likewise his eyes also glow, albiet in a white color rather than orange. Due to the nature of his powers, Dave cannot leave the confines of either versions of his armor but when in casual environments he will wear shorts over the skin suit to at least look somewhat normal. Feature wise Dave isn't all that unattracive, but the blankness that the glow gives to his features make him look a little like a mannequin.

Personality: Dave is a really reserved individual, never one for extreme emotions. Even on the battlefield his emotions are tightly retained which makes him the go to straight man and voice of reason when the hotter headed members try to get into more trouble than needed. While a valuable battle attitude it makes him a little awkward around the others and coupled with his sense loss blues that comes with having both destructive skin and containment armor, makes Dave a little distant with the others. However he is still pleasent to be around and can be counted on to keep a secret.

History/Backstory: Dave has had a pretty unremarkable life so far, well relatively speaking. As the son a R&D specialist of a weapons manufacturer Dave was never preassured to do much, in fact he was mostly raised by nannies and was given pretty much anything he wanted. However this didn't spoil him rotten like many other well of children he knew, just a little disconnected from others. As he grew, Dave discovered that he enjoyed cooking and descided that it was his calling. Even though it wasn't what his father had imagined for him he did not discourage him from it.

It was an average day when his powers surfaced, he was making breakfast for himself and the live in maid when he erupted in energy. While no one was hurt the kitchen was destroyed and while it may have been a problem for others it just facinated his father. While treated more like an experiment than a son, it was the closest the two had been in months if not years and Dave wasn't complaining much. Through near constant experiments and testing, his father made him some clothing that can resist his powers and when Dave wanted to become a hero he made him some actual armor to go along with the suit. Say what you will about the man, but he is nothing but supportive of his son.

Equipment:
Containment/Flight hood: Primary function before upgrades was to allow Dave to sleep regularly. However it has since been upgraded to function as a rudimentary HUD. The HUD shows suit status, power regulation, flight gyroscope, and oxygen regulation. The lenses highlight points of interest and can see in both infra red and thermal. The hood is not as durable as the armor.

-Exo armor: The armor is made from similar sturdier materials that make up his containment suit. The armor is highly resistant to heat, crushing forces, explosives, and bullets. Anything below 50. caliber will bounce off. Servos in armor let him easily lift double his weight and comes standard issue with a flight systems. The jets can support 200 pounds of additional weight.

-"Second Skin" Containment armor: This piece of equipment is whats really important. The material used in its creation is resistant to his bodies natural destructive touch and as such is crucial to his everyday life. Gloves can shift on and off to allow him to fire his disintegration beams. The suit is tied to his body and acts as a damper to his powers, however the safeties can be turned off.

Powers/Abilities:

Primary: Desintegration Beams, these are highly destructive beams of energy capable of rendering most substances it hits into dust. There are several metals that take longer to destroy than others.

Secondary: Desintegration touch, like the beams that come out of his hands his very skin shares the same properties. Its more of a hinderance than anything in his eyes as he cannot taste, drink, or feel in the traditional sense. This has become a sore spot for Dave as he feels like he is trapped inside of his own skin. While he still needs to eat and drink water it is instead instantly broken down and absorbed for nurishment, how this happens is unknown and Dave prefers to just let it be.

Negligible: His eyes work a little diffrently than others. Each person he sees has a slight...aura that floats around them. This aura is unique for each person but it doesn't really tell much of a person, its has the same basic function of a finger print.

Additional Info:
-While he can't taste the food anymore, Dave still enjoys to cook for others and will frequently do so.

-Has a security blanket that he has kept throughout the years, it has been resized and patched up multiple times.

Appearance: Tetsu is big, even for a rhino. However it is rare to see him outside of his armor due to the horrific scars that cover his body, they have become marks of shame.

Personality: Tetsu was always a quite man, even more so after "the incident". Now days Tetsu just kind of wanders the dojo when off mission, lost in his own little world. If one were to sit down and talk with him, you will find that he is fun to hang around but he just prefers quite. Because of the experiments placed upon him by the Corpus, Tetsu has almost Valkyr levels of anger when he sees them.

Faction Preference: Will NOT work with the Corpus for what they have done to him.

Other: Some time ago in the past he was captured by the Corpus and put into extreme experiments. However when the time came for his "liquidation" they kept him alive because he never screamed, they wanted to test how much longer he could keep it up. However they soon regretted that decision when he escaped. No one knows what happened, but it was messy. Tetsu doesn't talk about it.

Nightmares are a near constant when he sleeps. Night terrors are rarer but far more traumatic.

Physical Description: Nathan is above average, to put it bluntly. Not wholly unattractive and built pretty solidly, he stands at 6'4 and weighs around 190 pounds. His eyes are green, his hair a dirty blond, and skin a little tan. Still, he isn't someone who could woo you off your feet with just a seductive gaze and the musculature is just that, above average. The only abnormal thing about Nathan is his arms which are covered in burn scars from a past power mishap.

General Personality: Pretty level headed, Nathan isn't one for drama and won't take sides in inter group drama unless its affecting someone directly, as to say physical violence. Nathan likes the more simple things in life, like beating a high score, doing more push ups than yesterday, and not exploding things by accident. However due to the nature of Nathans powers, his personality may have been conditioned to be this way.

Sexual Orientation: Hetero

Powers/Abilities: Super strength, toughness, and stamina Nathan is quite the power house. However this is only a fraction of his capabilities. Nathan is the vessel of primeval rage. Emotions, in their most basic state are forces of great power with the capability to do as much harm as good. Because of this, Nathan can open and close the gates of rage and is able to shoot bolts of highly destructive energy, inspire righteous fury into his allies, and generally mess stuff up.

Weaknesses: At base power, Nathan can only lift a small car, deflect small arms fire, and run nonstop for about an hour. However with the addition of rage, these powers can hypothetically raise indefinitely. But rage is a powerful, self destructive power and many vessels of it die from being consumed by it. Rage manifests itself by heat, but as the vessels rage grows it the veins will glow, skin will split, and boiling blood will spill out until only fire leaves the body. The skin will form into rock and the rage will spread to others, turning righteous fury into murderous rage. This will continue until the vessel reins himself in, or dies. Consumed by rage until his body is no more. While this happens, Nathans mind also reverts to its baser instincts, relying on primitive animal logic when dealing with threats. Only a trusted friend would be able to shake him out of it. Luckily this rarely happens, there is very few things that can make Nathan that angry. However, to try and prevent it from happening in the first place, Nathan is equipped with a spine rig filled with sedatives.

Weapon(s): Custom gauntlets durable to not dent or melt, but will if Nathan's power gets out of hand.

Fighting Style: In contrast to his personality, Nathan fights brutally and efficiently with no flair or banter with enemies. He will try to aim for the joints, breaking them to subdue his opponents. However if rage were to take over Nathan becomes an engine of destruction, sending forth bolts of death and ripping enemies limb from limb.
