Name: Paladin Lord Zachariah "Zach" Abrams
Age: 39
Appearance: I'm having a bit of trouble finding something appropriate.
Race: Human
Skills: Science, Energy Weapons, Unarmed
Perks:
-Power Armor Training: "You understand the intricacies of power armor, and can operate any suits you come across."
-Sneering Imperialist: "You don't take kindly to raiders, junkies, or tribals trying to "settle" or "stay alive" in civilized lands. Against dirty raider and junkie types as well as tribals, you do +15% Damage and have a bonus to your accuracy."
Equipment
Weapons:
-Vulcan: a custom AER9 Laser Rifle fitted with a scope, Focus Optics, and a beam-splitter mod. An effective close-to-mid range weapon. Zach has had Vulcan with him since he was an initiate, and the weapon has sentimental value.
-Plasma Pistol: An ordinary Plasma pistol. Unimpressive, but effective.
-Zap Glove: An unarmed weapon which releases an electric shock each time it strikes. Extremely effective against robotic enemies.
Armor
-Recon armor: Zachariah has a suit of recon armor, which he wears under a duster. This is the outfit he usually wears, as it is obviously less conspicuous than a suit of power armor.
-Wasteland duster: A dark brown duster. A symbol on the back has been covered with a patch of black cloth. Useful only to block out the elements, and not effective as additional armor.
-T-45d Power Armor: Kept in a bunker in an undisclosed location. The bunker itself is a sort of BOS safe-house that Zach has been using as his own personal shelter while investigating the developments in New Reno.
Items:
-Microfusion Cell x30
-SEC x50
-Bunker: Zachariah has spare ammo and food enough to last for about a week in his bunker. It's equipped with a workbench as well, for the crafting and recycling of ammunition, and the customizing of weapons. The Bunker is currently garrisoned with four Paladins, aside from Zach.
Bio: Zachariah was born into the Lost Hills chapter of the Brotherhood. Being born into the brotherhood's seat of power allowed Zach to grow up seeing the Brotherhood at it's best. As such, he grew into an exemplary knight of the Brotherhood. Things were good for Zach, perhaps too good. By the age of twenty, he had grown antsy in the safety and security of Lost Hills. Zach decided he would request to be allowed to go on a pilgrimage to one of the other Brotherhood chapters where he would be of more use. The High Elder permitted him to travel, so long as he adhered to the Codex, and didn't reveal any brotherhood secrets to those that shouldn't know them. Zachariah left the Lost Hills bunker in early 2275.
Shortly after his departure, war broke out between the NCR and the Brotherhood of Steel. Zach found himself in the service of Elder Elijah of the Mojave chapter, as it had been his first stop on his list of Chapters to visit, being the closest. Zach stayed on with the Mojave chapter for several years. Eventually, he took part in the battle for HELIOS One, and survived the chapter's defeat, through no small degree of skill and luck. Now under the stifling leadership of Elder McNamara, Zachariah began to question whether or not he wished to remain with the Mojave chapter through their bleak situation. With the Lockdown of the Hidden Valley bunker, tensions grew between the Head Paladin of the Chapter, and Elder McNamara. Zachariah's drive to explore the wastes and connect with the other chapters of the Brotherhood was even greater now that the conflict with the NCR had grown so desperate.
So, one quiet night, during the sandstorm that was the base's defense, Zachariah took his leave of the Hidden Valley bunker. Now a Brother without a chapter, Zach stuck around the New Vegas area for awhile, rooting out raiders and fiends wherever he could, and becoming a general nuisance to the fiends that had made Vault 3 their home base. Eventually, when he had gathered enough wealth to afford it by performing odd jobs and wetwork, Zachariah hired a Caravan to take his things (which he had been stashing in an unprotected cave in a mountainous region of the mojave) to New Reno. The Caravaneers seemed excited at the prospect and the pay, and Zachariah spent the next several days with the caravan during the journey.
Upon arrival in the New Reno area, Zachariah first sought out any Brotherhood presence in the area. To his surprise, with enough digging and the utilization of the Brotherhood's secrets at his disposal, he found an old abandoned BOS safe-house bunker in the mountains near New Reno. Zachariah stored his power armor and the rest of his equipment there in secret, and labored for almost a year in near-solitude, only stepping out and heading into New Reno when he absolutely needed to. The year was spent attempting to repair a two-way radio in the bunker, in order to reach out to the nearest Brotherhood presence through their secure frequencies.
After a year of working on the blasted thing, Zachariah was able to get in touch with his superiors. The High Elder, surprised at the report of Zachariah's survival, spoke to him directly. As the Brotherhood had little presence in New Reno, Zachariah was to be the eyes and ears of the Brotherhood for the area, since the war with the NCR had crippled the effectiveness of Brotherhood scouts. Zachariah was informally and unceremoniously given the rank of Paladin Lord, allowing him to move about freely as he saw fit, so long as he maintain the Codex, and kept the Brotherhood's interests at heart.
So, for nearly fifteen years, Zachariah has single-handedly increased the strength of the Brotherhood in the region. Despite the unorthodox nature of his promotion, he has proven a decent leader. Though there is no official chapter in New Reno, Zachariah commands a group of Paladins from the safety of his Bunker in the mountains. As the work on the tram began, Zachariah investigated, and, after sending in his report, was given the mission to abandon his watch on New Reno, and work as an agent on the inside of the tram operation. He was to join the team that was being assembled, help them get the tram up and running, and protect it from foreign interests, all the while learning the secrets of the pre-war tech that made it tick, and periodically reporting back to the High Elder with his findings.
If Zachariah completes his mission, and the Brotherhood gains control of the Tram, then the Brotherhood of Steel will finally have a means to connect their chapters, and send troops and supplies between them, restoring, or even surpassing the organization's former glory. Zachariah is determined to make that happen, no matter the cost.
Alright, so, that's done. Any thoughts?
