Less concerned about Nadeshiko being late because already decided she is going to be late, but yeah.

NPCs can be controlled (and created) by all players.

Well the GM did say NPCs were free to control, but after some concern I decided to edit my post and relinquish control of Tsukuba-sensei. Sorry for the inconvenience everyone. ^_^; Plus I think Tohru would like to be spared further embarrassment.

I wouldn't really call either NPC so far important. They're kinda just there out of necessity. Bit players in the grand scheme of things.

When using them like that causes everyone else problems, they are important, if not plot-wise.

Hikari could have been away for awhile because of hospitalization for an illness? Has a passion for fashion? Likes to sew/draw?
If not, Springhole's generators are great quick ideas n stuff. I hope you figure out what character you wanna do tho, good luck! :^)

Necessary NPCs are a little important, right? Though, I never feel comfortable controlling other's NPCs or canon characters, myself. s' just me.

I think the biggest matter is just making sure they fall in line with your description and the class doesn't start when the people who aren't intended to be late aren't there yet, eh-heh.

You guys said you wanted classes to be a very small part of the roleplay which I would assume would also make the teachers minor additions in our roleplay as well. So confusing lol.

I'm pretty much using Tsukuba to just introduce the class and class representative discussion before we jump ahead to gym and lunch.

Well I'm in the process of writing up a post in which Tsukuba brings up the class representative stuff which is the precursor to class actually starting.
