<Snipped quote by Invisible Man>
Nah, man, you raise a good point. This corporation undoubtedly has a large amount of money and resources to throw at a project like capturing superhumans and selling them for profit. The SCP Foundation's purpose is to "Secure, Contain, and Protect" the knowledge of such beings from the public. The corporation in this rp will capture superhumans, only they can be a little more flamboyant about it, seeing as supethumans are common knowledge. Superhumans sold as slaves would make the corporation quite a pretty penny, I'd imagine.
Basically it's not impossible for a corporation to be able to do this.
<Snipped quote by Vetis>
I would assume that the limits would be the degree of illusions. Is the illusion based purely on sight, or can your character make people think that they're touching something when they're not? Is there sound? Smell? Taste? Is there a maximum amount of people who will fall prey to the illusion at a time, or is it a radius? How accurate are these illusions? How long do they last? How intensely will your character have to concentrate in order to cause these illusions? This link might help you with some variations and limitations.
Random question, would it be a logical leap to say that if my character cast an illusion on himself he would in a way be able to understand other languages (like the Tardis is able to translate things)?
Name: Jackson "Jack" Stone
Age: 17
Power: "Flux Coat" or Solid Viscosity Manipulation is the ability to manipulate the viscosity of a solid. This includes: All types of stone, asphalt, brick and concrete. The ability allows one to alter an objects flow by altering the bonds that hold the atoms in place. One can also then move that altered piece of ground at will, but only pieces that have been altered. The liquid rock can then be forced from solid to liquid at will.
Nationality: English
Bio: Jackson was a failure, in school and socially. He has friends, of course, but he would always get into fights and failed his tests. Despite getting into these fights, he would always win, since the challenger would always be inexplicably knocked out after a single blow. He earned respect and eventually started competing in underground fights for money. After this he began learning to fight better and better, and eventually became a well renowned fighter in both the underground and under 13's fighting competitions. One day though a fighter came around that was unlike the others. He had a strange get up and what looked like a deck of playing cards. The battle commenced, and the single punch (which was a fist coated is concrete) didn't work, and his other hand was cut open by one of the playing cards. Jackson just about won, by sealing the guy in a prison of stone. At that point, the authorities were called and both Jackson and the challenger were arrested.
For 4 years Jackson spent being transferred from facility to facility and owner to owner; life was almost not worth living... Almost. He kept his upbeat attitude and that helped him keep going through the hardships. On multiple occasions, he was almost killed by the organisation for his constant resentment and trouble making tendencies. He was transferred into the Center after the 4 years and spent another 3 months there. He grew a reputation and became a notorious leader of a prison faction named "SOUL". After the explosion, he escaped with his friends in hope to create a new life without worry - but also to create an underground fighting faction so they could live well and not on the streets (If you want our characters to be friends, let me know. Just a thought).
Personality: Jackson is almost always upbeat and positive, but if a situation becomes too negative he tends to become sad and secluded and sometimes suicidal. This can mostly be seen due to his depression when things get rough, but this is when his power comes into its greatest.
Appearance:
Other: Nope!
Name: Norvandell Lozenges
Age: 14
Power: Copy: the power to copy another superhuman's ability(ies). However, this ability operates rather bizarrely.-It can copy a single piece of a person's ability (ex. Enveloping fire around a fist, but being unable to emit flames anywhere else). All he needs to do is simply observe another superhuman perform the action.
-He can use multiple abilities at the same time. If he wants to shoot laser beams out of his eyes and breathe frost out of his mouth, he can, assuming he's seem others perform it before.
-He maintains a perfect memory of each ability he's copied, and how the ability has been used by the other superhuman, as well as being able to "discard" an ability if he doesn't want it for any reason.-Certain abilities he's copied must be performed EXACTLY the same way he's observed it. If he's observed someone performing a Frost Nova with a 12 foot circular radius, he must perform it using a 12 foot circular radius. No more, no less.
-Once an ability has been used, it disappears from his memory, and he can no longer perform it again, unless he observes the same ability being used.
-An ability he's copied must be used consciously. If he's observed someone using a regeneration ability that doesn't need to be used consciously, he must activate that ability consciously in order to gain its effects.
-If he does not have an understanding of how an ability is used when it was performed, he is unable to copy it. He can observe someone make a fireball appear, but if he doesn't understand how that person managed to do it, he cannot copy it. However, prolonged observation (about a minute or two) or being the target of said ability allows him to perform the observed ability without knowing how the ability works, though the same restrictions apply if he wishes to obtain the same ability. This includes prolonged observation.
-It seems there is a maximum limit on how many abilities he is able to copy, which is currently at 3. Should he attempt to surpass that limit, he will simply receive a rather painful headache for a minute or so before the pain recedes, while also failing to copy the ability.
Nationality: American
Bio: Norvandell was a fairly normal kid. He listened to his parents, he had a few friends, and he had decent grades at school. His mother was a stay-at-home, and his father was an Accountant. He even had a pet dog named Alex. All in all, he was an American child of an American family living the American Dream. Life was good for little Norvandell.
Unfortunately, he was caught up in a robbery one day. As he and his mother went shopping, a man with a gun had entered the store and demanded money from the registers. Everyone, including Norvandell, was scared out of their wits. The robber then displayed his power by clapping his hands together and forcing two slabs of stone to come out of the ground and smash together, scaring everyone even more and making the cashiers move faster. Norvandell couldn't get the thought of clapping his hands together like the robber did, and did some involuntarily. Before he or the robber knew it, two slabs of stone came up from the ground and smashed the robber, exactly how the robber displayed his power. Everyone was confused at first, but then everyone began to turn towards Norvandell with fear in their eyes. Even his mother released him and began to back away. Norvandell was confused too at first, but then he looked at his hands and the slabs that had crushed the robber, soon coming to realization of what he had just done.
The police soon came, taking away both the body of the robber and Norvandell, who was lost at that point and didn't know what to do anymore. His mother called out for him, but Norvandell didn't notice as the car drove away. Eventually, the police let him go on accounts that it was merely self-defense and unintentional, but life changed completely for Norvandell. His parents were wary that a similar event would occur, but it didn't. After a year or so, things seemed to get better, things finally returning to normal.
Of course that wasn't to be the case. Entering high school for the first time, Norvandell was quickly chosen to be the next victim of a school bully who tried to extort money from him. It was also revealed that the bully had superhuman powers after the bully used some sort of electrical ability to send Norvandell flying into a wall. As Norvandell came to his senses, he pushed the bully back, which triggered his ability and sent the bully flying backwards the same way. A teacher came, wondering what the commotion was all about, and the bully managed to convince the teacher that Norvandell was trying to bully him by using superhuman abilities. Norvandell tried to convince the teacher otherwise, but it was futile and Norvandell got into trouble, receiving an expulsion. Naturally, Norvandell got hell from his parents after he went home. Norvandell wanted nothing more than to just have a normal life, but fate clearly had other ideas.
Only a few days later, Norvandell wandered around town to try to clear his thoughts, and it was then that he was kidnapped by people who had heard of his rather remarkable feats.
Personality: Norvandell isn't exactly social. He tends to just listen to others talk, rarely speaking his mind on matters. However, he is quite intelligent, and will make the effort to learn about anything that seems or is important in some way. Norvandell also prefers to avoid conflict, and will go to great lengths to try to avoid it. He also prefers to avoid killing anyone, and even an attempt to convince him to do it will give him great mental stress, even to the point of a full-blown panic attack if the topic is continuously brought up.

Name: Orihime Hoshimi
Age: 21
Power: Pyrokinesis
Orihime is able to create and manipulate fire at will, and can use this ability in a variety of ways. She seems to have a talent in focusing her energy into one point and then releasing it all at once. By doing so, she can continuously build up heat in her attacks, making for a more ferocious attack.
Although Orihime isn't affected as badly by her own flames as much as normal people would, she isn't fully immune. Once her fire gets too hot for even her to handle, she becomes burnt like any other normal human being, and over usage of her concentrated fire attacks could lead to the death of Orihime herself.
Nationality: Japan (Moved to London afterwards)
Bio: Orihime was born in Tokyo, Japan, where she spent six years living with her parents. One day when the family went on a camping trip to the countryside, Orihime was woken up by her father, who had exited the tent to watch the stars. Immediately, Orihime grew fascinated in the night sky above her, saying she wished she could stay stargazing forever. Her father told her the origin of her name, and said that she was his shining child (The name 'Orihime' being based off the star Vega. It is noted as the fifth brightest star in the night sky.)
As time passed, Orihime's love for stargazing grew. After her family moved to London to make a better living, she would often stay up on some nights to look at the stars through a telescope her parents had bought her for her seventh birthday. She started off as really shy in primary school as she was new to the English language, but quickly adapted and made friends along the years. She would continue to watch the stars, and whenever she got the chance she would go to the countryside with her parents to stargaze. However, Orihime didn't forget about her studies, and always studied hard, not batting an eyelash when it came to revising for tests in high school.
It was at the age of sixteen when she discovered her pyrokinetic powers. Whilst walking home in the evening after studying for her exams with a friend, the two were attacked by a group of men. Feeling under pressure and willing to protect her friend from harm, she had released a blast of flames at the three men, burning them severely. Too surprised to figure out what had just happened, she took her friend's hand and ran.
After the event, she began to secretly train herself with her friend and discovering what she was capable of. Even at a young age, she was already able to manipulate and control her flames at will. This secret training continued on for a number of years until she moved somewhere else to live nearer to her university.
About a year after she entered, Orihime had been practicing wielding her powers at a nearby park, thinking there was nowhere around at the time. Since it was late and quite dark, she thought she would practice behind a large cluster of trees to avoid being seen. However, Orihime was somehow caught on camera by a person nearby, and a video of her controlling her flames was posted on the internet. The video immediately went viral, and before she could do anything to stop it, she caught the eyes of a certain corporation, which led to her disappearance two months later.
Personality: Orihime isn't extremely chatty, but not overly shy and withdrawn either. She enjoys the company of others, but dislikes people she isn't comfortable with in her personal space. She's a bit quiet around strangers, but opens up and becomes a more talkative person towards her close friends. She enjoys making people smile and likes to have a laugh and fool around, but ends up acting rather weird and annoying at some moments. Orihime hates being by herself, and is shy to talk to people she rarely knows, always being accompanied by one of her best friends when being introduced to someone. She's observant but also judgmental, always 'judging a book by its cover', which she uses to decide which people she deems okay to hang out with. However, she is aware of what she does, and so keeps her negative thoughts to herself in case she somehow causes trouble.
Other: (just a few extra facts I bundled together)
• Orihime was born on July the 7th, which is why her parents named her Orihime (based off the character Orihime in the Tanabata festival legend).
• She's enjoys knitting.
I've just been lurking around, waiting for the RP to start. I'll post in the OOC when necessary, but it is mainly just character sheets and critiques that have been posted. So, I'm just a waiting.
I'm thinking of joining, but the whole "evil corporation" thing seems a bit cliche. That and the fact that we're slaves (which doesn't seem very likely if we actually have strong fighting powers) makes me hesitant to join.
Interested if there is still room. Getting ready for work but should have a character to you sometime today.
Here's my guy from another RP.Alias: Anarchy
Real name: John Carmichael
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Appearance:
His armor and weapon were taken from a military base in South America while he was working with the freedom fighters there. When incognito he wears a t-shirt and blue jeans, sometimes with an unbuttoned button-up shirt. He is 5'10" tall and weighs 200 lbs, with a well-muscled build. Blue eyes. He has a scar on his left cheek from a fight against the Dictator in which he learned that the Dictator was a Super too. He usually has at least a bit of stubble on his chin, as he rarely has time to shave.
Personality: Absolutely hates bullies and anyone who would force others to do things "their way" without a moral reason. That said, he is always willing to help people in trouble, and to help people free themselves from oppression and the chains put on them by others, both mental and physical. While he rarely interacts with others aside from leading them, when he does interact with others as friends or equals he is understanding and kind. With his lieutenants he is a bit serious, but will laugh at a good joke, especially a practical joke.
Short Biography: When he was a teenager he learned about all of the problems around the world that were caused by people forcing their rules on other people. He got involved in protests against the police and government policies, hoping that peaceful protest would get their attention. At one of demonstrations, however, things turned violent and the police sent out the riot squad to disperse them. When a group of protesters drew weapons and started shooting at the police a firefight broke out. He was hit in the head by a bullet and spent the next week in the hospital undergoing stem cell treatments to repair the damage. He couldn't move or speak for the next week, but he could listen and watch. After a few days he found that he could move slightly, though the doctors said that his motor cortex wasn't repaired enough yet, and that he should be a paraplegic. They chalked it up to a medical miracle, and, when his recovery was complete, he started his rehab. He found that he could do almost everything they wanted him to without as much practice as they thought he would need. In time, he even surpassed what he could do before the accident, reacting to stimuli faster and able to lift more weight than his muscle mass should allow him to.
Powers, Skills & Equipment: "Free your mind": Technically a form of telekinesis, he is able to defy some of the more obvious laws of physics, giving him increased strength, durability, speed, stamina, and reaction speed. With enough concentration he can also fly. This power was mostly covered in the movie "The Matrix," which he thinks may have been influenced by him.
"Break chains": A form of telepahy, he is able to free others from limits of a mental nature, including the results of abuse and trauma. This also covers the mental limits most Supers place on their own power use out of fear of their powers or how society will react to them. He doesn't trust most Supers, though, as many act like they are superior because they have powers.
Escape artist, contortionist, lock picking, hacking (though not decrypting what he finds), MMA focused around dodging, redirecting and looking for weaknesses instead of direct assault.
Weakness: He craves support. If he thinks the people have turned against him, he will lose the will to fight for them. Also, his augmentations are based on his level of concentration. If you can distract him it will weaken him.

While in rehab he met a man from a country in South America that was run by a dictator. They talked about all of the problems with the country which such a dictatorship caused and, when he was finished with the rehab, he decided to go down there to join the resistance. He traveled there as an American tourist and soon found himself captured by the rebels who hoped to ransom him back to his government for money to fund their rebellion. he explained to them that he had come here to help them and, when they dismissed it as the ramblings of a frightened hostage, he broke the ropes they tied him up with and disarmed anyone who attacked him. He told them that he was a Superhero, there to help free their people from tyranny, and many of them decided to follow him. He made a few rules for his group, including not taking hostages unless they were in the regime and only attacking government targets, and soon he lead his group to the top of the rebellion, hitting military bases and government offices to help the people. They even freed members of other cells from police custody and most of them joined their ranks as well.
One of the rebels they freed was a woman with the somewhat comical name of Maria Garcia. She was also a Super but, when the government found out, they killed her family in the effort to capture her. She only had her photosynthesis left, as she blamed the others for the death of her family. John talked with her and they became friends. She became one of his lieutenants and lead troops in several raids. One day, however, after they had spent hours talking about her family, she leaned over and hugged him, and soon started to glow. It was then that they discovered he could cure trauma and, because of that, could help Supers recover their suppressed powers. He also helped treat psychological problems within his men, earning even more respect. With her powers restored, Maria spent the next few years leading many more attacks, and John eventually promoted her to being his second in command.
After a raid against a government records office they found records which showed that a US Senator was helping the Dictator monetarily. As the one with the most knowledge of the US, John decided to go back and find this Senator, to bring him and anyone else who was helping oppress these people to justice.
Fun facts: He speaks Spanish, which you'd assume given that he spend eight years in South America. His favorite food is snake meat. Also, he meditates every night.
Power Explanation: He can sense movement in matter and alter that movement. If he touches something, it becomes an extension of his body and that lets him change it as well. As all matter is moving if it is above absolute zero, anything nearby above 100K (for now) should be able to be sensed. Also, as the whole Earth is technically connected to him, he could move anything with enough training, but that is decades away at best.
When he connects another mind to his body, he can alter it the same way he can alter his own mind. While he doesn't have the control to alter minute pieces of memory or matter, he can will bad memories to fade a bit and good memories to be amplified.
How would I need to alter him to make him work here? Obviously he'll have to get captured, and I assume I'll have to get rid of the flight, but what else?
Name: John White
Age: 25
Power: powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Werewolf_P.. - basically a werewolf, during the full moon takes on a 'wolf man' form (like the pic in the link) in this form he looses all human thought / recognition and is reduced to the thinking of an instinct driven beast.
Nationality: australian
Bio: Born with the power of illusions, John was always seen as an oddball as people would ofen see him talking to himself - but what wasnt found out till later was that John had placed himself in an illusion that allowed him to interect in a limited way with his birth parents whom he had been told had died shortly after his birth - which was infact a cover story as both his parents had been caught and sold on due to them both being Meta humans.
During his imprisonment he heard whispers that his parents were still alive, now that he has escaped - his main drive is to discover their fate.
Personality: Has quite the inferiority complex and so he is often creating illusions of himself in situations where people are looking up to him or making him feel loved / wanted / needed and so can often times be caught talking to himself. [Cant really think of anything more at this point lol]
Appearance:
outfit:
Actually I think I liked it better when it was Illusion Maker, the werewolf thing seems a bit too supernatural.
I have some questions about the RP. When, and where, will it start? Will all of the players be put together? Is there PvP allowed? What's the end-goal, or will it be revealed later on?
@Prince of Seraphs I should I mentioned your name, you may have missed it by accident.
