I have a question.

Is the fallen star going to land beneath Heron and on the surface? I'm guessing that Heron is an island floating way up but that we ARE on a planet of some sort. Also, is there more than Heron? Any other settlements? Or are we assuming that the world is essentially just Heron and the wilderness (which I actually prefer more -- the latter option, that is).

I imagine we definitely think it's just Heron and mostly wilderness out there, although historical texts might say otherwise.

Oh, definitely not. But we might be the only surviving settlement. I was sort of thinking that below the clouds and on the surface of the planet is where all the danger/mystery lurks. And that the rest of the planet is mainly composed of unsettled land.

@Ebonsquire this was actually something I've been debating! The island is definitely floating over the larger world, but it's entirely self sustainable without need to venture down. People have and do go to the surface, of course, but it's so wild and untamed compared to the island that nobody bothers with it.

The star will crash into the surface, below the island and a distance away.

Whether or not there are other functioning civilizations between here and there is what I've been considering. If you guys prefer wilderness and ruins, that makes things easier! Any other preferences?

Also, if anyone else wants to find a cool pet or familiar, let me know! We're gonna do a thing.

I second that. Some ancient survivors, few and far between, and a lot of ruins from old events. Maybe some bogeymen type beasts that lurk in the darkness of some areas of the world.

I have most of my guy made up, I just can't get a good image of him in my head. :/ First time in a while I've had this problem, usually my characters start with how that look and then I develop everything else very quickly after.

I know 'tis is a bit off topic, and I'm still waiting on Tomb to post before posting myself, but does anyone here know a thing or two about cameras? I am on the verge of buying one, since I love photography. And I plan on doing some reviews for youtube and stuff like that. I know the art of photography, but the technical side is not my forte. :P

I know 'tis is a bit off topic, and I'm still waiting on Tomb to post before posting myself, but does anyone here know a thing or two about cameras? I am on the verge of buying one, since I love photography. And I plan on doing some reviews for youtube and stuff like that. I know the art of photography, but the technical side is not my forte. :P


don't do it. Well. Do it, but do note, shit gets crazy expensive. Like. Some of the really good cameras run up $2000+, and that's not including all of the lenses you need. A Nikon D3300 is pretty good for a budget DSLR (It's $500-800, depending). At much less of a cost, you can get a decent point and shoot. A decent mid-cost one is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS50 (~$300) or a decent cheap point and shoot is the Canon PowerShot Elph 170 IS (though the battery may be a bit of a deal breaker). Of course, you should research this and look at reviews, too, because I only did photography in High School and my knowledge is bum.
