Deeandra is not the type of woman who has the time, nor is willing to take anyone’s mouthy attitude. She is a strong and independent individual who does not need approval unable to care about anyone’s perspective but her own. Those who have a problem with her need quickly find they must either change their viewpoint or confront her head on, the latter not being a wise decision. This closed-mindedness is a character fault that derives from the world scorning her leaving nothing but deep rooted hatred and bitterness. They say that anyone can change; however, the likelihood is so insignificant one should not hold their breath. Her tough and determined demeanor allow her to intimidate most into either staying out of her way or giving in to her desires.

One thing that is undeniable is the fact that while Dee can be cruel, snarky, and manipulative she is an honorable woman; evil, yes, but her word is kept though be wary of loopholes because she will find them. She is very old-fashioned and while she appears a lady she is far from it at heart. In the kindest fashion possible, Dee is very much the Devil. If one expects to break through her hard outer shell to find someone warm and cuddly they will be bitterly disappointed. The world has burned her and she locked away her childish dreams of a ‘happily ever after’ long ago.

From her bad attitude and snarky-conceited ideals, her personality is a definite turn off, when she isn't charming her way into following her orders. And while many want to punch Deeandra in her egotistical-flawless face, everyone respects her in their own way knowing she has their life in her hands. Very cunning, her twisted intelligence exceeds even the expectations of those around her. She does not like to dabble in gossip and finds it to be an immature waste of time. If you come to her with information unless it is backed up by hard facts she will not listen.

She is the head of her gang, being the only one with right connections to the world around her so no one can actually pin her with anything. Not only are her hands in all the lots, dead and tortured souls can’t speak from an isolated rooms much less without their tongues. Leader-wise, she is very blunt, quick, and wise always playing the cards in her favor. She’s a trickster and often is teased with the title of a female Loki.

When the moment arises Deeandra is a very dark, calculating woman with little regard for the well-being of those around her. She has the remarkable ability to almost switch off any humanity and compartmentalize her emotions to be a quick and efficient killer and fighter, one of the reasons her role as “Godmother” has never been contested. What she lacks in strength she makes up for with skill. She hates to lose and has an unquenchable competitive streak. All in all, don't go after Dee unless you're incredibly strong, calculated, or very stupid. She knows how to control her facial expressions and emotions, but is very easy to piss off.

There are three things Dee will never do though; beg, cry, and actually smile. She'll smirk sure, and she'll force a smile, but she hasn't actually since the loss of her family. She's an incredibly good actor; to the point where it's almost scary. Only those who really know her can figure out what she's truly feeling but even that can be difficult if she doesn't want you to know.

Biography:

Deeandra was five years old when she discovered life’s cruel tendrils wrap around her happiness like savage claws, ripping all she knew from her own grasps. The images come to her in pictures, like scenes in a flipbook. One moment walking with her mother through the back alleys on their way home from the grocery store. She was too young, too preoccupied with the excitement of the world around her to have noticed the shadows all but seeming to follow the pair. Only appearing every couple streets. She did not think to take note of her mother’s hand tightening on her own as the two quickened their step. Dee just thought mommy didn’t want to be late for dinner...daddy said tonight would be a surprise.

The next scene she remembered was the figures saying something vile over her mother’s appearance and laughing over “all they could do to her”. As the pair tried to make a break for it, it all ended in vain as the group managed to split up, cutting them off. She could still see her mother looking around frantically before having her baby girl hid in a pile of garbage, long past due behind some unknown building. Dee barely became invisible before the gang obtained a visible distance on her mom….before they got closer….before they took advantage of her mother leaving her to die in the cold streets.

Realization set in and the rest can only ever come in flashes like nightmares in the night pigmenting her black with the pungent truth. No matter how hard she would shake the figure before her the lump ball of smoky fur would not awaken. Dee ran home, each step taking what seemed like forever, before she fell at the feet of her father sobbing. At that moment her dad established his own gang in order to take his revenge.

Flash forward several years, and Dee’s family was one of the strongest in the cities; Deeandra herself becoming a name feared throughout the watering hole. It wasn’t until she actually took over that she was able to find the men who killed her mother. They were wiped out without mercy and in the most vial way she was able to manage. Life hardened her heart, and she was able to become strong both physically, and as a leader.

Underneath it all, Dee suffers from PTSD, Antisocial Personality Disorder, and Sociopathic tendencies. She hides her anxious behavior and loneliness underneath her devilish nature. Deeandra is truly frightened by the world around her and grew up learning how to control and conquer this fear. She will never be free of it, but forces it to hide in the back of the mind, tightly locked in a dark box. She suffers from emotional detachment from her history leading to anxiety and stress disorders. She has a deep-rooted hate for strong men who take advantage of women. Unlike many people Deeandra does not deny that she is or what she has done. She accepts it and then learns to live with it.

Inventory:

Besides having a line of henchmen whose lives are dedicated to her, Dee is both strong and well versed in hand to hand combat. Her sharp claws mean she does not need to carry a knife, and growing up in the Waterhole she has built up an immunity to the tear gas often floating around. She does keep a gas mask on her person at all times as the air in the town is toxic. She is a great shot, usually keeping a Desert Eagle on her hip and a .50 BMG rifle on her back. She does not personally carry any machine type weapons as she considers them wastes of ammo (she is cocky about her marksmanship). Nevertheless, her hired men sometimes do. She keeps a medium sized pouch on her right thigh with various supplies and some extra ammo and well as a whip on her waist backside.

Unlike most gangs who only take jobs for coin, Dee is more than willing to help certain fill their vendetta with “IOU’s” written to her person. These should not be taken lightly as she will expect the person to fulfill their part whether it be in info or merely a scavenge run. She may not ask for anything at all, may not ask for years, or may ask right away. Other jobs she is willing to turn down if she doesn’t like the attitude of the person asking. She has no fear to law enforcement, nor any of her death threats. She does what she wants when she feels like it.

Personality:

Vex is a very independent and strong young woman who often keeps her feet off the ground and her head in the clouds. It's safe to say that she is a sweet girl with a caring nature, but a sarcastic, pessimistic humor that knows how to bite. She hates being tied down with responsibilities. She is always blunt and upfront if she finds herself irritated with something. If she has a problem with you, she will either let it resolve on its own or confront you about it herself. She finds beating around the bush tedious unless when it comes to her own self giving out information.

However, that doesn't make Vex a cold hearted person. She is quick on her feet and always knows when to spring into action for those she cares for, and when to hang back and plan. She is very strong willed, and if you try to bring her down by talking smack, she'll laugh in your face. She walks with her head held high and her boots echoing throughout the room. She cares strongly about those close around her and sometimes treats them like they're her own family without meaning to of course

Very independent, Vexes is fiercley protective of her friends, and if any of them are hurt emotionally or physically, she will go out for blood. She doesn't like to get mad at people, but if she does, she'll either go out for some air for a little bit until she gets over it, or, if it's really bad, she’ll probably yell at you. Nevertheless, it takes a lot of effort to actually get her going as she prefers to let most of it roll of her back. Some may attempt to take advantage of this trait, but remember: a long fuse just means a larger blast radius.

An introvert unless around her close friends or hyper/in a good mood, then she is totally unpredictable. She has charisma and there is always an aura that surrounds her, so full of light, even in the darkest of times. If you try to make her do something she doesn't want to do, it's like pushing a mountain--you can't do it. She can be very seductive and flirty when she wants to be, either because she likes someone, to get information of out if, or if she's bored. She needs entertainment in her life too.

Her fox personality traits can be found in her bubbly and sly personality. She is quite the trickster, and may be known to walk people around in circles when she is in a playful mood; this also has caused her to be a lover of pranks. She is a clever girl, one of the reasons she has managed to stay alive in this place as long as she has. She knows how to talk herself in and out of situations, leading to her trade as an “informationalist” (she isn’t quite as backhanded and crummy as an actual street rat). A fault of hers is being a bit of a kleptomaniac as she will often take things if they catch her eye. Another issue often getting her into trouble is her unquenchable curiosity. This has led her into more than one questionable situation, luckily she was able to sly her way out of it each time. This being said she is always up for an adventure.

When it comes down to it Vexes highly values three traits; loyalty, honesty, and sarcasm. Loyalty isn't blind or completely steadfast, but she feel's safer knowing that her friends have her back and are willing to stand up for her. Honesty is crucial to any relationship in her mind, though she will stretch the truth if necessary as is her job. Sarcasm though, is just something she greatly enjoys, so if you can't handle it and dish it out in return, you likely hate her.

Biography:

Unlike many people in the town, Vex did not have an exceptionally traumatizing childhood. Whereas the waterhole itself was a literal “hell”, her family was caught in the lower middle class, always having enough to get by. Her family owned a bakery/deli shop in town which was never packed with people, but still enough to keep a decent flow, enough to keep everyone busy. Most of her time was spent exploring the town and doing her best to stay out of trouble. She would often visit her grandmother, (this is who taught her both acupuncture and archery); when visiting her grandma would tell her of how the town used to be long before the corruption. She always hoped she could change things.

As she got older she was faced with the corruption head on when a local gang planted stolen parts in her uncle’s mechanic shop. When the family was able to prove his innocence they found the deputies in the local police were also involved leading to the entire case against the gang being swept under the rug. He ended up only serving four years if he could just keep his mouth shut. Vex could no longer find herself able to trust anyone on either side, decided to pick a job allowing her to pick and choose who she wanted to believe.

It took years for her to be able to make all the connections necessary to establish herself as an informant. Though the job has put her on a few lists, both sides recognize her usefulness. This does not mean she can help anyone out in the open; if she isn’t careful she could easily be expendable. She knows at the end of the day she must have her own back. Though she wants to fight the corruption, she cannot do it alone.

Inventory:

As an informationalist, Vex is extremely agile and will often attempt to essentially “parkour” out of a situation rather than fight. She has the ability to scale most buildings relatively easily and this often allows her to lose her bulkier counterparts. She has a large survival knife on her outer left thigh. It contains a compass, small medical kit, rope, and a lighter in the handle which has a bottom that unscrews. She is naturally talented at navigation. Her only "real weapon" is an AA-12 shotgun which generally rests cross-strapped in the front of her person and is for worst case scenario.

She has a standard gas mask something largely suggested by the city. She has a backpack strapped to her at all times. It is not easily removed and has locks on all the openings. This is where she keeps her information as well as any other of her personal items. She has a Hunting bow but it is not always on her and is usually in her hideaway. She is a good shot but prefers not to use it on people because it was her grandmothers. Taught in the art of acupuncture, she has medical "throwing" needles which can be used to temporarily paralyze a pursuer. She can use them to kill; however, Vex generally prefers to avoid murder unless she or someone she cares for is in danger.

Her nickname is a play on words as Vexen between the word vixen ( a female fox) and her own name. She has a hard time resisting her kleptomania urge and can control it enough to only taking items that she doesn't know belongs to someone else. Vexes also has a hidden fear of thunderstorms which she tries to keep under wraps. The noise reminds her of some distant memory.

Personality: Jezz is a simple woman. Give her a drink, something to smoke, and some good company and she'll be content with the added bonus of not plotting any murders or how to rob you blind. She lives in the moment, not putting much thought into the future since hey, New Earlton isn't a gentle place and the odds of growing old aren't in her favor. While Jezz isn't conventionally intelligent she has an ocean of street smarts and that all powerful "Common Sense" that a lot of people are either lacking or too desperate to listen to. Whenever trouble shows up she knows to just duck her head and go with the flow, high tailing it out of there when it's best in her favor.

Acquaintances come quickly to Jezz, an inevitability given her playboy antics and promiscuity. However finding true friends is a little bit more... difficult for her. Sure there isn't much to a one night stand, just a humpity bump, finger gun snap, and away she goes. True intimacy however is a little more intimidating to the young woman and not something she gets into often. In these moments of vulnerability you'll find a mumbling mess of ramblings, back of the neck scratches, and avoiding eye contact. But you know how this cliche ends, once you have her you'll have a friend for life, someone who would go to the ends of the world just for you.

Biography: There isn't much to the story of Jezz, no big tragedy, no deep betrayel, nor a scathing lesson on the cruelty of the world. Her parents did a good job of preparing their daughter for the world, never hid the garbage but never holding her into it. Just enough for her to accept it as part of her life. A child of scavengers, it isn't any suprise she's picked up the trade as well. Jezz has stayed a freelance agent in the profession, using a family contact to fence whatever she finds out in the Toxic and generally has kept her lifestyle of hedonism comfy with her foreys into the field. She's been coasting this past month on a particularly good find but as inevitable as death her funds have begun to dry up and she's itching to get back out into the Toxic.

Jezz is a fan of running around, both for fun and for survival. As such, she is able to run for long periods of time and possesses a great deal of agility while doing so. If she can help it he prefers to deal with things nonviolently, running away most of the time but if cornered she'll fight like a rat.
