Life Before The Apocalypse
Growing up, Darren had a simple and quintessential life. His father passed away when Darren was young, but his mother took good care of him, making sure he grew up to have a simple life. Darren was friendly and athletic, and quickly became popular around his hometown of Altsoba. He performed averagely in school and quite well in his athletic pursuits. As quarterback of the high school football team, Darren was on the fast-track to becoming a professional athlete.

However, in his senior year of high school, Darren's mother was caught in a house fire and badly wounded, admitted to hospital. While she was there, Darren visited - and knowing she wasn't long for this world, his mother told him the truth. Darren's father had been a hunter of all things supernatural, and had died when Darren was young while hunting a demon. That same demon had caused the fire which almost killed her, and she had only survived so long by using her husbands teachings to force it away.

Although he didn't believe what he was told at first, Darren found proof in the still-intact cellar of his burnt-out home, taking his father's old journal, and weapons to take up the life of a hunter. Darren took to the life well and easily, and over the next few years of his life he became quite skilled as a hunter, taking up hunts around the country. He rarely ever returned to Altsoba, his mother had passed away in the hospital, and so there was little there for him other than a few old childhood friends.

Life Leading Up To the Apocalypse // What Brings You to Altsoba

When the Apocalypse started to get into full swing, Darren ended up going on more hunts as the supernatural started to get a little on-edge. Darren learned of the news that the apocalypse was supposed to start in Altsoba, his own home town, but he didn't head home yet, he was in the middle of a hunt when he learned the news. However, as he got news of more and more supernatural happenings in and around Altsoba, he felt more and more of a draw home, hoping that if the Apocalypse was in fact coming, he could help stop it.
