Dang, i wish i could draw that well, i tried drawing my char but he didn't turn out like i wanted.

Also, i've been in Visby the last 4 days. In the medieval market.
I bought a battle horn :D

So i should be invigorated and feel more alive and positive and all that! At least for a while.
Hopefully i'll be able to finish my cuirass IRL.

Also i'm rambling.

Also pro tip, don't drink wine.

I didn't really draw it per se, but constructed it from vectorised images that I tweaked extensively.

OK @PhoenixWhite's 'Assassination' post has been put up. It is located on page 2 of the IC and is the 15th post down.

I won't give any spoilers, but what I will say is that it is absolutely AWESOME :D

OK Update:

Me and @Hygswitch are nearing the end of our Collab and it should be up soon. I will also be starting a collab with @Sundered Echo which hopefully won't take too long.

@Klomster @AndrewCooper How is your collab going?

Also lore update:
Mercy is now the 5th city to inhabit Formaroth. The cities ranked by size are as follows:

1)Nyhem: Massive
2)Vine: Massive
3)Mercy: Massive
4)Andromeda: Huge
5)Cawaport: Large

@TheDuncanMorgan The collab is a bit slow at the moment, i assume andrew is sitting and stroking his chin contemplating what to do and/or busy with stuff.

But i'd say we've come... half? Maybe more, mayhaps less.

@Hygswitch

I like the post.

I constantly envision him looking like Russel Crowe for some reason though.
Not that it matters, but i'm unsure if he'd be the right actor if this was a movie.

I can only imagine how poorly, yet fine Ramfrey and Claus would get along :P
Hopefully we can get a chance at that.

Which kingdom is Mercy located in? And what are the population sizes for the cities, is Massive roughly 1 million people or so? I could add this in to the reference sheet too.

@MacabreFox

Mercy is the capital of Alenius, it's the seat of the Blackwells.

The general population of the region is around 1.5 million (reference sheet), so I'd say approximately ~200-300,000 people live there unless that doesn't match the size allocated for the others. If numbers are given for the others, or I haven't noticed, just scale it to be approximately similar.

@MacabreFox Given these are medieval cities the population sizes are quite small (at least in comparison to today's standards). Back in those days near everyone lived in a rural area. I would say the populations are as follows:

1)Nyhem: 50,000
2)Vine: 45,000
3)Mercy: Too be decided by @PhoenixWhite
4)Andromeda: 30,000
5)Cawaport: 25,000

@MacabreFox Also I did the Maths for Mage:Mundane ratio and it came out at 1:500. That means that in every million there are two thousand who have magical abilities.

How many people in the world are there, then? Including, and not including the Elven Imperium?

In Nyhem, there are 100 mages then. 50,000 divided by 500 = 100 mages. Yes?

So... Magi population would be like this:

1. Nyhem: 100 magi
2. Vine: 90 magi
3. Mercy: TBD
4. Andromeda: 60 magi
5. Cawaport: 50 magi

Is that how it figures out to be?

@MacabreFox Via city yes. TBF there are probably more mages in the cities as they have the greatest opportunities there. Although not everyone who has the potential to use magic can use it at the same level of proficiency. Also magical abilties do travel through bloodlines. If your family has a history of having mages in your family then it is more likely you will be a mage.

The Total population of Formaroth is: 21,900,000 (excluding the Desert and mountain tribes). Therefore the rough estimate of magical individuals in Formaroth is around 43,800.

I have yet to do Total population for Beilokias yet. However there are more elves than humans in the world and elves are more likely to inhabit magical abilties than Humans, so if including elves as well the total number of mages would be higher. This actually reminds me I still need to get the magical lore written up :/ .

Also something that everyone can help me out on: I was planning to add in more continents as well as other species. Here were a few idea's I had so far:

1)A reptilian type race that inhabits a jungle/marshy continent. Currently at war with the Imperium and have lost half their land to the elves. Has a very tribal based society that bands together when they need too.

2)A Avian type race that has been conquered by the Elven Imperium for centuries. They inhabit a very lush and green continent and originally lived in mountain cities and towns. Though the species has the capability to fly many have their wings removed at birth by their Elven masters. They are a very peaceful and gentle people, making their enslavement all the more sadder.

3)A species that bears reasonable resabalance to humans. They inhabit the largest continent in the World and like Formaroth and Beilokias their species is far spread. They pose the biggest direct threat to the Imperium and have very tense relations.

4) I was also thinking about adding another human kingdom (small Island) somewhere in between Formaroth and Beilokias and would very much be Feudal Japan in terms of culture.

Anyway What I was going to ask was what you think of my current idea's and if you have any ideas for species/civilization please do share.

Oh good, I was way way way over-shooting that. Make Mercy ~45,000 then, meaning the mage population would be ~90 as well according to Vine's comparison, though likely slightly higher due to the meritorious nature of Alenius and that, in most cases, Mages can outdo a mundane in job efficiency through the help of magic... so I'd say probably ~100 mages in Mercy on average.

----

@TheDuncanMorgan

I adore world-building and I think that expanding the world outside and around Formaroth would give some OOC perspective on Formaroth itself, if that makes sense.

I think the addition of some other continents and races is an excellent proposition and I'll gladly brainstorm, should that be desired.

As for the things you've listed there yourself, I think they sound great. They give us more information for the elves and the world, and seem to be...tame enough to not shake the foundations of anything we know and understand, if that makes sense.

I must say, I'm curious to see where Lana fits on the 'talented mages' list... The swordsman one also likely has a new member...

Interesting numbers to see.

And YES! Mage bloodline on the throne here we come!

Check out the game Dominions 4 @TheDuncanMorgan.

It has a nation called Caelum. Winged humanoids with daevas as their ancestors.
They have a sacred infantry that willingly give up their ability to fight, to be able to fight in formations and get a reinvigoration effect since they don't need to pump blood into the wings anymore.

I mention Caelum because of aesthetics. You should check them out.
Also Nazca, same species but heavily inspired by Inca and death worship. They carry their honored dead on palanquins.
-----------

C-tis, herbivorous lizardmen that form kingdoms led by lizard kings. Mighty priest kings who excel in combat and wear dapper as f'k robes.
They have heavy infantry with scale mails whom fight with dual falchions or spear shield. Depending on the era they have chariots, massive sacred bipedal alligators known as sobeks and armies of mummies.

Sure they are not fitting for the things you mentioned, but it's great inspiration.
Here's an online program where one can see all the stats and descriptions of the units.

larzm42.github.io/dom4inspector

And if you like turn based nation sims, don't miss out on dominions.
While it can be a bit tricky to get into, the game has LOADS of lore and one can do loads of funky spells and combos.

Anyway, i can think about the things you wanted some inspiration on. I could throw some things together. Perhaps.

The Remonnet's had a mage on the throne once, if I recall correctly. He kinda went 'poof' and disappeared thoughhhh...

But wow, yeah. If Aurelia and Duncan go through with everything then.. Wow, glad they instituted those better-mage-treatment laws, eh?
