Hm question. I think it was already mentioned but are Cosmic Princes visible to humans when transformed? I know if they are in a field no one is but outside of one.

And another. These distortion fields, do they look like witch labrinyths from Madoka or an inverse plane of reality? I think this was also discussed, I just can't seem to find it!

In answer to your question
When in a shadow field;
The reality is the same, but shadows and can appear at until defeated, both the shadows and cosmic princes are invisible to civilians.
(Unless a civilian is pulled into the field, if they are safety reduced and released, they will have no memory of the events)
When the cosmic princes are transformed, their identity is shrouded in mystery, no matter how little they change when transformed.

When outside;
Yes, but their identity would be shrouded, it is assumed that all fights would be taken in a distortion field. Or in a seriously isolated environment.

Obviously it's dependant on how you want to do your character and you can't just start of an unstoppable bad-ass from the beginning. Many of the characters accepted have their strengths and weaknesses, you could play the roleplay via improving your characters weaknesses but not necessarily strengthening their magical abilities.

Does your character have full access to all their abilities? Then they should be overwhelmed by their magic and be easily drained when fighting. What I and I assume a few others have done, is started their character with only one of their skills unlocked, though a duration of the story they'll unlock more abilities.

You can think of unlocking abilities along the lines of something like this;
Weak Character > Intense Fighting > Skill Unlocked
Unlocked Skill(s) > Training > Strengthened Skills

I'm not a GM, I can't speak for @Leslie Hall, but this is what I assume. I treat the roleplay like a JRPG.

@Leslie Hall I get that civilians can't see the shadows or anything until they're pulled into the distortion field, but could you elaborate on that a little more for me? Like, I was kind of planning on having all the screaming civilians outside the building Jinx is in be screaming as a result of the Shadows. Like they had already been pulled in, I guess. But how does one pull a civilian in? By touching them? By getting just close enough to them? They're getting pulled into something like an alternate mirror dimension, right? But all the damage Jinx is currently doing to the building will be permanent once it's all over? Or no?

@Pudding Right. I just had an interesting concept on the way to work with my character where like later on in the heart of an intense battle he finds out he can eventually control his magic via full conducting. So for example right now hots Capriccio allows him to jet to an area but it despells after that, so i was thinking later if instead of the quick flick he does now he can concentrate on the spell and compose a full song and so long as his concentration stays while hes conducting he can keep the spell up to do multiple dodges fluently. Hopefully i explained that well?
