@PrivateVentures Point of order. Dali is already familiar with Chama, Chao, Saoirse and the Crumb Brothers. They are not strangers. I believe we all agreed to that before we started?

@Gunther I think everyone is vaguely familiar with one another, but you gotta remember, Dali is a half-drunk, hungover lizardman who makes people hallucinate. He's probably going to have trouble recalling people's names. You're all just somewhat familiar human faces. Plus, as Dali will soon say, "All you humanss look alike. Pink and brown sssoft thingss. Jussst naked monkeysss."

It's as if you all know each other if only by reputation or a friend. You may have never spoken to each other before, but you are aware of one another. Saoirse and chao certainly know each other. As long as nobody directly contradicts another player, it should all work out.

I heavily recommend that everyone read up on their Lovecraft while planning your posts. Trust me, it'll come out in your writing!

I have never read Lovecraft. I just posted and don't have time to change things. Chao is trying to pull Chama out of hte Squished Fish. How will the crowd react? How will Chama react?

@Gunther It's just a suggestion, in case of writer's block, really. I find it helps to read influencing work when trying to emulate the same diction.

If Chao can't stop this, the winery will burn to the ground while Dali lets loose with a classic guitar solo.

I can't help it. That line keeps bringing me back over 30+ years to this little ditty. Beware, the lyrics are NSFW or Children!
I remember hearing this when I was in Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Jackson, SC.

Looks like were moving towards the Ceaseless Feast. If anyone wants to do anything else in the Squished Fish, the next day or two is the time. I can write a transition scene if you guys wish.

@Gunther@Darach You guys need to decide if Chao and Chama exit the Squished Fish before everyone else as they may see something the others do not.

What happened next would be later remembered as an intoxicated dream. A vision of the counterfeit-coin, a tall looming shadow, a story of eyes and madness and demons and secret vaults. A deep voice roared and smoldered, Chao's seat went empty, the room shouted and rumbled and the front door slammed. The guitar strings quivered and smoked in a hellish rendition, Dali's voice hissed electric hallucinations of rising old gods and civilization burning, black inferno, echoes screaming in the dark, of crumbled consciousness and a final halting whispered prayer.

I like how you summarized the last several posts in this one paragraph. Well done!

EDIT: Chao plopping down to socialize at Dali's table was more of me thinking we all knew each other. Oops! :)

@Gunther@Darach Thanks! @PrivateVentures And I can't wait! It'll be interesting to see how the group reacts to an odd grumbler too.

And could I squeeze a small post in with gru's reaction to being hit in the face by a flare/fireball? Could get it up around lunch.
