@ArenaSnow What makes you say that, if you don't mind my asking?

As a general rule, superhero themed roleplays are very hard catches for me. In a context where I can chose involvement or not, I like to chose things that I think I'd thrive in some small degree with, and I intentionally waited to see how a few things would turn out and what would show up first. What showed up didn't match up, and while I might be able to slam a character together, I would be unlikely to sustain said character past the first few IC posts.

That, and the fact that there's a few other roleplays I'm interested in/starting up that I'll only draw attention from if I think I would seriously get something from the addition. In this case, I find it doubtful. It's nothing personal - indeed, it was the idea that caught my eye in the first place.

@ArenaSnow Well, that's a shame. Hope you enjoy greener pastures, wherever you may find 'em.

@Cuccoruler Rad, accepted. Although, pro-tip, change Bob's name to be either Hugh or Murray to be named after either Huginn or Muninn. Not a big deal at all, though.

@Burning Kitty Nice sheet. I'd just ask that the History be made a little longer. Also, what are we talking for max strength on the force shield? And you mention she's very intelligent - how does she apply this intelligence? Is she a skilled Chemist? Physicist? Scientist Supreme?

She is a model and thief. That is literally all she does. Just because one has intelligence doesn't mean they have to use it scientifically.

As for the shield, it would depend on size and force applied to it.

As for history that will have to wait until later, don't have time for that at the moment.

@Burning Kitty I'm not saying she has to apply is scientifically. I'm just saying, 'intelligence' vaguely isn't really a skill, more of a personality trait. A skill with applied intelligence would be something more like an understanding of Particle Physics, or, more practically, being a demolitions expert.

What do you mean by size and force applied? Is there a maximum size? How much force would it take to crack the sucker open at her max effort?

I mean exactly what I already said. I can not make it any more simpler.

Is there a maximum size?
Yes. Larger than her smaller than a two story house.

How much force would it take to crack the sucker open at her max effort?
As I said before it would depend on the size of the shield. You will have to be more specific or I can't help you.

Name: Ira Hawkins

Gender: Male

Appearance: Ira stands a squat 5'6", but so broad in shoulder, and deep of chest, that he almost appears to be cubic. His arms are heavily built, with wrists thicker than the average woman's shin. From his lack of definition between his waist and hips, he obviously did not skip leg day. Typically wearing loose, baggy cargo pants in tan, olive, or other earthy tones, and a black/grey hooded jacket, with a cavernous hood. His feet are shod in rugged work boots, and he always seems to be wearing mechanix work gloves. His clothes are often stained, and spell of burnt metal, oils and grease from his work.

However, what sets Ira apart is his skin; a thick mass of bony nodules, scutes and chitin, frequently layered with enamel, linked together with a deep reddish brown mass of flexible keratin. Almost like a hybrid of gator skin, armadillos, or ancient nodosaurs (think Anklyosaurus). Perhaps think of "The Thing" of The Fantastic Four fame, but biological, not stone. From small pebble like granules in the most flexible regions, to thick, hardened slabs of armour on his forearms. He is exceptionally ugly, though well protected. Due to his deformity, he also lacks any, and all hair.

Age: 21

Alias: Hyde, Jekyll, Armoured Thing (The media haven't quite settled on a name yet)

Alignment: Hero

Identity: Public (Hard to hide...)

History: Has a father, and a younger brother and sister. Father and mother were involved in severe car crash when he was 15, his mother passed away, while Ira's father suffers from paraplegia. In the aftermath of the accident, Ira grew up quickly, taking on a lot of the load of caring for his family. For the next two years, Ira dropped out of school to make sure his brother and sister could get to their schools, and take care of his father, Raymond. It took two years for Raymond, with his children's help, to overcome his depression, and start recovering. He and Ira began working out together, pushing each other their next goals. Josh and Kerttu (Named after their maternal grandmother), also began helping around the home as they got older, and were able.

The revelation of his abilities....or well, his physical transformation occurred when he was 19. Not only was it agonizing, as his skin hardened into a thick callous, it cracked and repeatedly tore itself until it finally began to sort out flexibility. For six months, he hid in his bedroom, trying to avoid causing more pain. One of the few friends who stayed by his side, Matt Shumacher, eventually convinced Ira, that he may be able to do some good, with this horrific mutation.

Ira has since moved out of his family home, gone through a tradeschool, and is working as a journeyman welder, now 21 years old. He lives with his best friend, renting a home from Matt's parents, who have a few rental properties scattered around the city.

Personality: Strong willed, but self conscious, Ira continues to work hard, and to to right by others. He is sick of the persecution and the prejudice he faces, being a "face" for the metahumans as a whole to those who encounter him.

He disparages other "heroes" who seem to enjoy causing excessive collateral damage, and views them as hardly any better than the villains the fight.

In the words of his best friend, Ira is Noble, Honorable, Trustworthy, and Idealistic, to the point where he can be naive, and somewhat immature in his views.

Skills: Self taught rifleman, took up hunting when he was 17. Is proficient, but in no way a marksman. Has limited experience with handguns. Is a skilled mechanic, welder, and weight lifter.

Abilities:
- Biological Armour: Exactly what it says on the tin. He is certainly well protected from physical harm by his skin, though far from invulnerable. Able to resist most handgun calibers from all aspects, except his most vulnerable (inside of joints, groin, eyes, mouth, etc), and most rifle calibers up to 7.62x51mm ball (or .308 Winchester, Non AP) over his most hardened areas (Chest, skull, forearms, front of his thighs, and shins, this is equivalent to NIJ Level III body armour). He is effectively stab proof from any normal human, except for the strongest specimens.

- Regeneration and Adaptive Reconstruction: Perhaps rather frustratingly, even when Ira does get hurt, he heals from it quite rapidly. Mending minor cuts in seconds, bullet wounds in minutes. Not only this, but when he does regenerate, that location becomes more resilient, tougher, denser, harder. Not drastically so, but it is incremental, and permanent. Most all of his bones have, already, become drastically denser, and harder than common human bones, making them rather hard to break. His connective tissues are more robust, and he has developed small spurs on his joints that work to prevent hyper extension, or dislocation. This has, effectively, rendered Ira into a walking tank, able to enormous amounts of punishment, only to dust himself off, and come back for more.

- Strength: Ira is considered to be stronger than a non-metahuman can achieve, but is far from being an engine of destruction on his own. He can dead lift around four tons, but is definitely not about to be throwing cars around.

Equipment: Typically only carries steel reinforced zipties for makeshift handcuffs, a quality flashlight (approcimately 700 lumen, with a rather agonizing strobe function), and his cell phone. He doesn't bother with weapons, as he is not trained with them. Armour would be impractical to find for him, and...well, he is armour.

Will flesh out history and personality tomorrow night. Need sleep.

@Burning Kitty This sheet looks good - except the make-any-item thing. That would trivialize most any conflict. I can allow a set number of blueprints that they can generate, or something like that. Like, maybe theyre programmed to create an AK, a set of lockpicks, etc...

As far as the force bubble goes... I mean at maximum effort. The literal strongest bubble tha it is physically possible for her to produce, whatever size that may happen to be.

@DracoLunaris I dig it. Accepted!

@Goldmarble Sounds like a BAMF. Accepted.

@ZeroCueroYessir. Was thinking about starting the IC proper tomorrowish? Applications would, of course, remain open.
