Hank decided to sit back, allowing his students to argue over the importance of environmental protection and the safe use of the recourses available. A few other students began to chime in too, supporting either Shawn or tatiana.

Shawn tapped his chin, his eyes skyward as he considered Tatiana's valid points. "I guess you have a point." He relented. "But the only way I can see global cooling being a thing is if we somehow re-engineered everything to have the exact opposite effects of what they're doing now. Unless you consider the rubber band effect, which would make the next few years especially cold if we were to implement everything right now..."

Maybe his views on the topic weren't completely black and white. He still agreed with the environmentalists, in not wanting a boiling planet because we used oil burning products for too long. On the other hand, getting everything done right now would send them back and fourth on the temperate teeter-totter.

"So, wha do you propose instead, Tatiana? Do we let people keep burning their gasses, or do we look for something that doesn't erode the ozone layer? There has to be some compromise here."

"Social side. Invaluable." You could almost here Tony's condescending tone through the Morse code. He rolled his eyes, stealing a glance at Doug, who seemed to have captured the attention of everyone else for the time being. "At least you're right about that. You'll handle pressure better the more you're under it. Everyone screws up, but let's just hope you have a fall guy or a backup plan."

Tony looked focused, by the way he was staring with a rather intense glare. When Doug took a look around his class, he didn't find anything wrong. Of course, even he would hear the background words made by Heidi, but he wasn't worried about her, so he didn't say anything to call attention towards her.

From the backpack sitting below Tony's desk, small red plates of metal began to slide out. They Nieves as quietly as a plethora of metal plates could, and began to wrap around Tony's leg.

"Do you know arc reactor technology? It keeps me alive and powers my own suit. You should look into it if you think you're such a liability."

"Must be that candid loyalty." She cracked a smile and fished something out of her pocket. Sally flung a little paper football onto the table with the rest of Bonny's things on it before gliding away once more. Much faster and much more fun than just walking around like normal people.

The little paper football contained her dorm number and the meeting time, 3:30, just to give them some relaxing time before meeting up after school hours.

david, on the other side of the library, took notice of bonny and waved to her before continuing on his merry way. He knew she was in Northstar's class, and didn't want to disturb her work.

Tony did have a point, Heidithough. She needed to do more missions. That's the only way she could prepare herself for more pressure. Because being an X-man didn't get easier. You didn't need to be super smart to realize that. She then looked down and saw the plates form around Tony's leg. This was impressive technology to say the least.

"I know of it, but I don't know how it works," she tapped out in reply. "I made a gauntlet not dissimilar to your technology, but it uses transistors and dynamos to perpetually power it, and starts with the kick from an ordinary AA battery. Seeing your suit has given me a flash of inspiration, though. Not from it's magnificence, but from a flaw for my purposes."

And with that, she started sketching in her notebook, sliding the paper to Tony when she was done. It looked like blueprints for some kind of compact metal exoskeletal boot, but the design was impressive, even to Tony.

"Am I the only one that watches the news here? There is a simple solution a boy genius figured it out. I suspect he is a mutant, no normal is that smart, but that point doesn't matter. Arc Reactor technology, if he can make it to power his suits, he can make them to power everything. It is not clean energy, it is the cleanest energy. It could replace every gas/diesel engine, every coal burning plant, every nuclear reactor, if it produces electricity the Arc Reactor can replace it. It would end the dependence on foreign oil, bankrupting the Middle East who depend almost entirely on oil exports. You would never have to worry about a gas shortage, or the next Chernobyl, etc. With his tech we could have flying cars within the next year or two. We would no longer depend on those god awful airline companies for travel. Why this boy genius hasn't done so already tells more about him than anything else. He is not a good person, regardless of the good he has done in his tin can suit."

Chrys tries to ignore the student's prodding. He did not want to do what they asked. He tried to focus on everything but them, and a soft him emenated from him as his power began to build. As the prodding increased he felt a small pop and the boy was encased in a field, muting him. He did not spot it at first, but when he sensed it, the bubble popped and released the boy.

"Damn it..." Chrys huddled into himself. He lost control. This power was something that seemed to have a mind of his own. If the student had been sent into that subspace.... No. He wouldn't let that happen. He focused even more on his work, doing his best to ignore the stares and murmurs.

His suit? Well, that was another tick on Tony's "how little can I trust the government" counter. They had promised him that they would keep his escapades under wraps as long as he went along with things. He supposed that people knowing about his suit meant that he didn't exactly have to hide what he did. The government be damned, they failed, now the truth, and his acknowledgment of it were in his hands.

"Not bad..." he actually whispered after looking over the schematics. "It'll keep you alive." And working in it would allow her to make all the small comfy adjustments to optimize her performance.

"Heidi." Doug turned around from his whiteboard and looked at the star student. im sure that you've picked up on the language easy enough, but Tony hasn't. Like you, he's here to integrate with society, but more importantly, learn." he spoke to her in Korean, a pleasant smile on his face all the way through his warning.

He addressed the class in full, talking along with them basic Korean characters akin to the alphabet. Tony joined along too, knowing that he had been found out after hearing his name spoken by Doug.

Oh boy, arc energy. Shawn became hungry just thinking about it. He had never absorbed arc energy before, and wanted a taste of it. Perhaps boy genius Tony Stark could shoot him or something.

Even though Tatiana had reached an agreement, the rest of the class had not. Many still believed that global warming was hogwash, while others were firm in their belief of changing everyone absolutely as soon as possible.

"Clean energy is just dirty in a different way, blood sucker. Even if global warming was real, the change wouldn't do anything. It'd be a waste of time and money." A student spoke out, causing hank to take a step in.

"Now everyone, in glad you all have your opinions on this, but we do need to get back to the lesson at hand."

And murmers there were. The class, including miss Sormer herself, had seen why chrys had almost done. She smiled with meloncholy, understanding Chry's plight. After a brief pause, she went back to her lesson.

"Chrys, can you tell me what the capital of South Korea is?"

Tatiana rolled her eyes. "If you know what I am then, you know where you exist in the food chain. I suggest you learn your place blood bag. As for your dirty energy comment, thanks for proving yourself just another crackpot conspiracy theorist. I bet you believe that the government is reading your mind through the television or some such ridiculous and quite frankly crazy bullshit. If government could do that they wouldn't waste resources on you, you are so insignificant that some dogs would be more valuable. You don't belong in a school you belong in an insane asylum. I know a good one, vampires own it they keep your kind, the mentally ill, for a semi-endless supply of blood from people nobody misses, you would be well taken care of, you would be so doped up you could be mutilated and you would never know or feel any pain. I had a couple pesky detectives sent there, took a little work to make them appear to lose their minds first to warrant being locked up. Got shot by them while disguised as an elderly woman. If I am willing to go that far, imagine how little effort it will take for you. A few drops of a hallucinogenic in your drink or on your food, completely tasteless you would never know when or if I spiked your food. With my mutant power you wouldn't see me, I may appear as your mother, father, roommate, or just some random student in the cafeteria, who knows."

She was fucking with the kid, the vampires would never drank from the mentally ill something about their brains screws up the way their blood tastes, be like drinking wine left in the sun to long. Though the story of being disguised as an elderly woman and getting shot by detectives was one hundred percent true, they were disgraced and sent to prison not an insane asylum. From that point on if he was crazy as he sounded he would drive himself even crazier looking for anyone dosing his food and water with hallucinogenic drugs. She was considering fucking with him later, just had to find a picture of a family member first or just his roommate. Mother would probably be best, seems like a momma's boy. She suppressed her laughter, just thinking of him freaking out when his mother came by for a real visit would be priceless.

Heidi saw the doubt in his face, and wrote a note she passed to him before she took a fresh page and began writing a list; a list of everything she'd need to make her skeleton idea; mostly metal parts, with a few electrical components. The note she passed him, however, just read;

"I assumed from the leg. I don't think your secret identity is common knowledge. Don't worry."

As soon as she finished the list, she raised her hand and asked to be excused, which she NEVER did. Once she left, she searched the full length of the school finding items on her list. She managed to find most things and several substitutes, mostly from destroyed drone scraps. With everything in hand, she borrowed some welding and soldering equipment from tech class, took everything to her room and got to work. There was still half an hour before P.E. She might be a few minutes late, but if she worked flat-out, she should have a working prototype to test out in P.E. and if it helped, she'd try and order the ideal parts and work on the version she had in her head, which may take a week or two. She'd have to build another dynamo battery too.

The arc reactor baffled her to this day. Tony Stark figured it out at such a young age, and she, a mutant with the brain of a supercomputer, couldn't figure it out.

Chrys looked up. "Uh... Seoul." He faintly remembered the city outside the base there. It was huge, spawling with buildings of all sizes and lots of lights. He was ten at the time, and it was the last place he went to before he got his limiter. That was done in Germany at some facility his dad knew about.

"Shawn In, Heidi Williams, Tatiana Mystikos, Chrys Corriender, Bonny Bonavide, and Rosemary. Please report to Professor Xavier's study."

Karma's voice echoed through each of the rooms, alerting the students and the teachers of who needed to be excused.

The student who had just spoken out against Tatiana stood up, ready to slam his fists on the table just before the announcement rang out. Grunting, he wasn't dumb enough to speak out now that everything was quiet. He fell back down into his chair and said nothing.

Hank looked at Shawn and Tatiana, the two stars of this period today. He nodded to the door, letting them both go.

Shawn looked over to Tatiana with a smile on his face, already thinking up ideas of what could happen next. He rose slowly, giving her time to join him.

Once in the halls, Shawn looked over to his vampiric friend. "We still need a team name. The X-tras?"

"Thank you Chrys. You may go." After hearing the announcement, Lita gave a smile and a half nod to excuse him. While the others were mad that Chrys's absence meant that they couldn't find out what was in Lita's room, no one spoke out against him, or even about him as he left.

She picked up the little paper slip and unfolded it, looking over the details of their meetup before putting the paper in her pocket. It looked like a good time to her, unless something came up. She waved goodbye to Sally, watching her drift away on the floor (still a very cool power to have in her eyes) before popping open her textbook again. Just as she started reading, out of the corner of her eye, she saw the librarian wave to her. Bonny didn’t want to be rude, so she looked up from her textbook to return the small greeting. With that done, she went back to her book /again/- gosh, there were so many distractions today. But she was finally ready to get a good chunk of this textbook read and caught up on-

"Shawn In, Heidi Williams, Tatiana Mystikos, Chrys Corriender, Bonny Bonavide, and Rosemary. Please report to Professor Xavier's study."

… Seriously. She stared up at the nearest speaker in unamusement, as if her disappointment at the interruption could be carried straight to whoever spoke. It was like this textbook didn’t want to be read. Well, nothing she could do about it at that point. Bonny closed her textbook, tucked it under her arm and stood up from her seat. She poked around the computers for a moment to find the teacher; once she found him, she quickly explained that she was called and would come pick up the rest of her books from the classroom later. With a parting farewell of a wave, she left the library.

The walk from the library to the study was pretty uneventful, and she made her way there as quick as she could go. Only one of the people from the announcement rang a bell to her- Shawn, the guy that helped her in math. Unless there were two Shawns. That would suck. When she reached the entrance to the study, she knocked a few times on the door before opening it and slipping inside. “Yo, I was called?”

Tatiana snickered ever so slightly at the loud mouth who was silenced by the announcement. Sometimes it was good to be on a team, a team that might get her killed but not everything is perfect, just as long as her death came after that traitor Blade's. In the halls she was walking ahead of Shawn. His suggested name for the team was absolutely atrocious, so atrocious she was afraid his blood might be tainted with some god awful curse that would turn her into the kind of idiot who suggested X-tras. "No." She flatly stated and kept on going. "I wonder if this has anything to do with that lady I saw in Xavier's study earlier." She wasn't talking to Shawn she was thinking out loud. She was trying to forget Mister X-Tra was near her.

Rosemary was still asleep she rolled over on to her side wrapping her arm right arm around a tree root like it was a stuffed sleeping companion.

Heidi finally finished the actual exoskeleton with ten minutes to spare, which she would use to make a primitive (by her standards) power supply, but it was at that moment when she was called by announcement. Just in case it was a mission, Heidi spent three minutes putting the frame on, connecting it to her Gauntlet's power supply, putting on her jumpsuit, then finally her gauntlet. Even if it wasn't a mission, she was ready for P.E. now. She'd ask Raven if it was ok to test out the skeleton before they started, but still.

fast walking, Hedi made it to Xavier's in good time; one minute after everybody else, and slipped inside.

Chrys packed up his stuff, and walked out. He let out a sigh when the door closed behind him. Being raise by a father who was in the military, he walked briskly and made his way to Xavier's study. He noted that the nosebleed had started and staunched it, grunting at the discomfort if it all.

'Hopefully we aren'tbeing sent on a mission like last tine... Though I do wonder what that guy said... I hope he's there. He talked a lot... But he was confident...' He arrived just after Bonny, arm scratching bis neck, and hilding the tissue to his nose with the other. Unconsciously he was dropping the used ones into the subspace and drawing new ones from the tissue box in there as well, perpetuating the nosebleed.

"Oh." Shawn's reply was simple. She didn't seem to be in much of a talking mood, she it would be best not to force a conversation out of Tatiana. Her question was more rhetoric than anything, judging by how she said it and how quiet it was compared to normal speaking.

Shawn didn't remember seeing any woman, but then again, he was busy minding his own business.

Inside the office was already a team of assembled adults.

Indeed, it was the quiet woman who some had seen earlier, in addition to an unreasonably fit man, half of his body being comprised of some metal, a man in red and black soandex with an unnecessary amount of guns and weapons on him, and their own Emma Frost and Booker Smith.

The professor sat at his desk while many of the adults stood at attention. Only the red one was lounging in one of the chair in the office.

"Children," Charles smiled at those in front of him. "Welcome to the big leagues. This may be one of the most important missions you will ever take part in."

"Ha." The red man chirped to himself dryly.

The largest of the group stepped forward, his single natural eye looking at each of them. "We're missing one, professor. The adaptoid, Rose Mary."

Shawn looked around. It was rather weird that their team was picked, but it was equally as weird that Rosemary wasn't around. Well, they had two telepaths in the room, it wouldn't be that hard to find her.

"Well I say we give her some time." Booker suggested, much to the large man's ire. "Rosemary is not the Most punctual person, but that's okay. Any questions before the briefing, kids?"

Rose Mary's power sometimes had a hard time distinguishing her nightmares from reality, especially nightmares that involved her being attacked, the more intense the nightmare the more likely her powers would respond. She hadn't had one like that since moving to Charles' school. Her paranoia eroded away at the safety she felt there. She was having a nightmare of being hunted like a dog for being a sick, evil, unnatural mutant freak. In her nightmare she was being physically attacked from all directions, in her dream she hated those humans, she wanted them to die, she felt the best way to do that was to create an explosion. Her power manifested for real as the explosion she wanted to unleash on those humans, the very real explosion woke her up. The first thing she saw was one of the squirrels she was so fond of laying dead clearly another victim of her power. She held its lifeless corpse to her chest and sobbed. She ran as far and fast as she could. She wasn't paying attention to where she was running. She only stopped because she was hit by a tractor trailer, without paying attention to her surroundings her power didn't manifest to protect her until it was nearly to late.

Chrys cracks his neck. He'd wanted to see the man in red again after he'd mentioned that he was on a mission to save mutantkind, but from what he could sense about the man who seemed to be half metal, it wasn't a natural part of his body. And he seemed out of place, he could sense some kind of tearing around him. In fact, he could sense the tearing around the woman and the man in red as well... "Why do you feel weird. Its like the world around you seems to be... hurt. It's like the space you occupy isn't reacting well to your presence." Tilting his head he delved deeper into his senses, the air around him slowly enveloped in the grey field. To him, it felt like the space was trying to reject them, but wasn't strong enough to.

Well. That was… fast. Three periods in on the first day of school and she was already picked for a… mission? One of the most important missions of her life? Jeez, things needed to slow down a little. Bonny looked a tad bit shocked by the scenario she was shoved into; she looked between each person in the room, recognizing some but not the majority. Shawn from math was there, though. Him, a half metal guy, a guy with waaaaay to many weapons (was that legal? She didn’t think that many weapons would be allowed in an office setting), and several other students she hadn’t been introduced to. Oh, and Booker and Emma. Well, it looked like introductions and stuff would have to wait until after being briefed on… whatever they were going to be doing.

After she looked over everyone in the room, she directed her attention to Booker. She had questions, alright- who were these people? Why was she going on a mission so soon? Did they know she had very little to no self defense skills? Where should she put her textbook? She could mentally go on, but there was a good chance that everything she wanted answers to would be addressed either way. “Nah, I’m good. Let’s hear what’s up”. She didn’t have much to say at this point; she’d hear out the explanation for all… this, and then say anything if the need arose. Someone else, another student, made a comment about space being weird around some of the people or something. She didn't really dwell on it.

Heidi was finding it strange that there was another mission so quickly after the other one. Just when she was about to comment on this, her sensitive hearing picked up a faint explosion coming from the grounds. She quickly glanced at Charles, who must have noticed it too, and thought the words 'I'm going to go and check that out. It could be Rose Mary.'

At least getting there will give her a chance to test out her suit prototype. As she left the room, she switched it on and started running. After the exoskeleton kicked in, she actually had to slow down in case there was somebody in the halls. She was running at least 13 miles an hour! It was working! Her speed was increased. It stood to reason that her strength and durability would be enhanced with this too.

As soon as she was out of the mansion, Heidi sprinted to where she had heard the explosion, and quickly surveyed the ground. there were scorch marks. And blood. From the pattern, a small animal had died. The picture of what happened was becoming clear to Heidi. Oh, poor Rose...

She found faint tracks, and followed them, running at full pelt. Heidi was already quite fit and athletic and the exoskeleton was increasing her efficiency even more. She eventually reached the scene of Rose, standing in the middle of the road, with a wrecked Tractor Trailer strewn around her.

"Rose!" Heidi shouted to her, before placing her gauntlet-clad hand on the girl's shoulder. "We have to go back to the mansion! There's a mission....Are you okay?"

Rose Mary was busy trying to free herself from the truck when someone touched her. She broke free, she wasn't listening. She screamed. "Go away!" She continued to run, there was a cliff. She ran towards it and jumped still clutching the dead squirrel to her chest. She sprouted wings. She turned her head to look at them. They were the most beautiful thing she had seen in staring at her wings the squirrel slipped from her grasp and fell to the ocean below. She dived after it to catch it but she couldn't. The blood still coming from the squirrel corpse attracted a shark which proceeded to eat it. "NO! You'll pay for that." Her wings retracted and she plummeted to the ocean. She wasn't even thinking at this point beyond making that godless monster suffer. She ripped out its eyes with her bare metallic hands she tore at it's flesh never a killing blow. She was going to make it die from a series of wounds. When it tried to bite her its teeth broke on her metallic skin. Due to her skin being turned into metal they sank farther and farther the longer it dragged on. The shark's blood attracted more sharks which attacked the bleeding one. Rose Mary still driven by a need to kill these monsters attacked them as well she was more efficient with them.

With the sharks dead. She proceeded to walk back to shore. It never once dawned on her to turn her body's mass into something more float-able than metal. On the shore she collapsed to her knees, she tried to will the wings back. If she could summon the wings of an angel, at least that is that they looked like to her, then maybe God hadn't given up on her.

The cyborg was rather impressed to see how fast Chrys was able to tell that they were out of place. Being who he was, he was aware of several key events and people, especially relative to the mission, but that knowledge was limited. Chrys would one day become a master of spacetime, but the man never met Chrys, nor knew the full extent of his abilities.

Though prepped to answer, heads turned at the sound of the explosion, to which Heidi, and later Shawn, gave chase.

"Tatiana, Chrys, go on. Bonny, your role as support carries on here. Stay here with us. Time is of the essence."

How they managed to move so far so fast was something shawn couldn't comprehend. Shawk had seen Heidi take off to investigate the explosion, to which he followed her. It wasn't until she was in that giant pile of metal that she took off without him, moving far faster than any Non-mutant could.

It was only after he was outside that he snagged a metal lid to a trash can and charged it positively. He used it as a makeshift board to try and keep up, but both Heidi and the other quickly left the forest and dove off a mother effing cliff! Not even a robot suit would save heidi from the fall, unless her computer brain calculated the right movements to absorb the shock and continue moving. Shawn had a much easier time, floating around and all.

He was too far away to make much of a difference. Heidi had identified the stranger an rose Mary, and the two shared a brief adventure in animal murder.

Once Rosemary was back on the shore, Shawn slowed to a halt, abandoning the metal lid to walk slowly up to his teammate. He gave her a safe amount of distance between them, and sat down next to her. He didn't know what she needed, so he tried to make himself open to help.

Indeed, she had the wings of a Christian angel. Personally, he preferred the original, Eldridge descriptions, but the wings were still nice.

"Rose Mary, are you okay? Can you tell up what happened." He rehearsed it all in his mind. He was the leader, and his teammate seemed to he suffering from something. He needed to be calm and patient, but not too pandering. He couldn't also make it look like he was trying too hard. There were so many things he couldn't afford to forget, in hopes of calming her down and helping her out.

Back in the mansion, Xavier and Emma were watching the scene with their telepathy. They shared the image to the others, including Bonny and whoever may still be there.

"They covered a lot of ground." The cyborg remarked. "But the Plasmid is still trailing behind."

"Are you sure he's supposed to be the leader of this little motley crew?" The man in red dangled his feet off the arm of his seat. He seemed to care little about being in the presence of Xavier, or anyone for that matter. "Come on me Natey, let's get to the fun part!"

Little did he know, there was no fun part. Hollow eyes and splattered grey matter haunted his future.

"Wow. Someone's taking a course in melodramatic and BORING." He poked fun at words only he could hear, though nobody thought that it was strange that he was talking to and about a non-existent narrator.

Charles smiled and looked up at Bonny, his chair rolling over to her. "Please join us down stairs while your teammates fetch the final person joining this mission. Nathan and Laura will be happy to answer and questions you have at the moment regarding the current situation."
