Something about this whole face claim thing bothers me, a lot. Does it really have to be necessary? I am not finding a picture that looks like my character, and it seems wrong besides.

So a few questions. First, everyone has an elemental ability but only some people have the "mark?" Or is it that all people have this "mark?" Second, do parents of a child with these abilities also have elemental abilities? And if so, are they generally the same abilities? I'm trying to write up my CS but I'm just running into some trouble because I'm not sure if it's a normal thing for a person to have elemental abilities.

@Mistress Dizzy Yes, the faceclaim is necessary. It really sets the tone of your character, and we would really like it. I'm not sure how it seems "wrong", but this is our RP and this is the way we would like it.

@PhunkyPhoebe No, most people don't have elemental abilities. Marks are ever rarer. As for abilities, think The Last Airbender: people inherit an element, but not the ability to control it. For example, imagine if your dad had air powers and your mom had water. You [i]could[i] control either air or water, but that's not guaranteed. Also, Mark's aren't inherited. So just because your parents had a Mark and found each other, doesn't mean that you will have one, too.

Important Announcement!


Hey everyone! We just wanted to again thank everyone for all the interest! We’re so excited for this RP to get started! A lot of people have been submitting characters and we ask that you all have patience as we try our best to look them all over!

Concerning the incoming characters, we’ve been receiving a lot of female characters lately but we still need male characters! We would greatly appreciate it if anyone still brainstorming could make their character male. We are still accepting female characters if you really want to make a girl, so don’t worry! Unless the ratio starts to become even again, we might have to make female characters unavailable in the future. We also greatly encourage any of you to make a second character! Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding! I hope you all have a great Fourth of July (if you celebrate that is)! :D

Using a picture of Ramsey Bolton because I've been watching Game of Thrones recently and he's the first fictional character I can think of who sort of resembles the character I plan to make.

He's not going to be a psychopath though. So don't worry.

@Mistress Dizzy They don't necessarily have to wind up together. There's really no reason not too, because for the most part everyone is extremely compatible with their Destined - the gods made it that way. However, people can fall out of love, but that is just as bad as not finding your Destined, because you will lose your powers when you do. So yes, stuff can go wrong, though mainly from external factors.

On the other hand, people can totally fall in love with someone who isn't their Destined. It's pretty common because it's so hard to find your Destined. This however does mean that you lose your powers, too.

Hey now, mine's a bard.

Question: How advanced is the technology / science of the world? Is it still pretty medieval, or is it getting to a more Renaissance-type situation?

I ask because I'm considering a second character as an eccentric scientist / inventor who's currently set his sights on examining the 'Destined' phenomenon - I'd also like if we could talk about him being somehow affiliated to the royal family, as playing a young, eccentric and old-timey 'Royal Philosopher' quite appeals to me, but that's of course up for discussion.
