Personality: AJ may seem quiet at first glance, but he actually talks quite a bit. He speaks his mind more often than not regardless of the situation, though he won’t say more than he needs to. He’s nice enough to other people (and pokemon) whether they’re friends or strangers, and is kind to most. He gets along most easily with those around the same age as him, but respects older people for the knowledge they've accumulated. His moral compass is solid and he is always willing to help those in need. He seems a little naïve at times, but there’s a logic behind what he does. He sets his sights on the small scale, the now rather than later. He knows full well that he can’t predict the future, so he focuses on what he can do and leaves the rest for later.

History: AJ was born into the hands of a free spirited bird keeper and a kind but firm pokemon breeder. He’d always lived with a large family which consisted of his parents, his 4 siblings, and the various pokemon that shared the house. Many were from his mother’s hobbies, though some were pokemon that had shared adventures with his father during the man's younger days as a pokemon trainer. AJ was the second oldest sibling but it didn’t feel like it, with anywhere up to a dozen pokemon in the house along with their large family. Many of the pokemon in the house had lived longer lives than he did, so he learned to respect them. But many in the house had been born during AJ's life, so he learned to take care of them. They didn’t live a rich life but it was a happy life, and AJ was content enough with that. Still, there comes a time in a man’s life when he needs to look for more, a time when they should go out into the world and see what there is to see, or so his father said.

One of his relatives phoned in one day and asked for his father’s help to help set something up in Viore. A new region, filled with all sorts of ruins and natural beauty. AJ’s father, the adventurous free spirit that he was, decided he wanted in. It took a long time to convince AJ’s mother to let him go, and even longer still to let AJ come with him. AJ wanted to see the world, and was interested to see what kind of place Viore was. Still, his mother wouldn’t let him go without an escort, so AJ and his good friend Kevin the spearow set off to see what kind of things there were to see in Viore.

• AJ's father has taught him a bit about being a pokemon trainer over the years so he knows the basics, as well as a few tidbits about status ailments
• He's a bit fuzzy on elemental weaknesses but his intuition is good and he learns fast

Personality: Morta is rather cheerful and talkative, although this is partially because she's also a little shy and has a tendency to babble incoherently when she's nervous. Still, she's easily excitable, especially when it comes to the occult and especially when it comes to ghost-type Pokemon. As expected from a Hex Maniac in training, Morta has something of an obsession with the ghost-type, thinking them to be the most wonderful and adorable Pokemon of them all... Even to the point of either ignoring some of their more sinister traits or simply claiming that they're just part of their charm. Really, she has some rather questionable tastes, with a love of low budget movies, trashy comics and loud music made by people who seem almost as obsessed with the occult and supernatural as she is. Morta has a tendency to believe the most absurd and out there things without any real evidence, acting more on faith and passion for the paranormal rather than any kind of scientific or logical reasoning.

History: Morta comes from a long line of Hex Maniacs, those obsessed with the occult and who believe that all the mysteries of the world have an answer... Just that these answers are related to the supernatural and often fly in the face of accepted science. Still, these... How shall we say, eccentric seekers of truth are determined to prove that magic, aliens, time travel, other dimensions and other paranormal activity are in fact real. Morta is still in training, however, and quickly learned as she grew up that simply knowing that the truth was out there wasn't exactly a profitable career path. After all, her mother had taken to selling Moo Moo Milk (rather enthusiastically, too) to help pay the bills, whilst her father didn't seem to believe as much as she did. But she knew that if she uncovered something big that changed our understanding of everything, then maybe the path of the occult wouldn't be so ridiculed by those so-called "scientists" and she could actually make a career out of it. Thus, using the Team Flare incident as an excuse to set off on her own journey (after all, no matter which region she went to it wouldn't have as many genocidal hipsters as Kalos), she convinced her parents to allow her to travel to the Viore region, one rich in ruins and legend, where she just knew she'd uncover something...
