So far the initial idea is rescuing the quarian ark. After that who knows where it would go.

That would depend on the alien species you would like to use. As long as it can speak English or it's language is translatable like every other alien then I most likely won't see a problem with it.
I was thinking the characters would play as the various Pathfinders from each Ark while also controlling any squad mates they have. I know in the game they said the all the other ships like the Tempest were destroyed but that could be easily ignored so each player gets their own ship.

You could play a Pathfinder without squadmates, a lone wolf.
Or you could play a member of a new alien species that is a squadmate of a Pathfinder.

I'll be playing Pathfinder Ryder and two of her squad mates. The rest will be left behind to keep the peace.
@Komager @Starlance what Pathfinder do you want to play? Also keep in mind you get two squad mates, or you can be a lone wolf.
If you play the quarian Pathfinder unless you meet a new alien species the only species available for squad mates are quarian, drell, hanar, elcor and volus.
Do either of you want @Kazemitsu's alien character never seen in Mass Effect to be your squad mate?

Would you play Avitus Rex? He is the Pathfinder after Macen dies if Ryder convinces him to take the job. If Ryder can't convince Avitus he becomes a mercenary on Kadara, leaving room for a brand new turian Pathfinder.
You're playing Ryder, so I'm open to you input. Only problem I see with Avitus is I haven't played Andromeda, therefore I have no idea who he is as a character in the game.

Avitus never really got any development other than being a former Spectre for 15 years, reluctant to become the Pathfinder, and found the job very rewarding.
None of the Pathfinders besides Ryder got much development at all. Avitus got the most if I remember right.

@Kazemitsu since you will be using an original species character use the Pathfinder CS. But include a section detailing any info you fill ncessary for your character.

I am interested. The only problem I have is that I have not played Andromeda so I do not know a whole lot about it. I would be ok with playing a squadmate for a pathfinder.
@Lurking Krog Neither have I. If you can spare fifteen minutes or so to go through the wiki it should be enough. Andromeda's story isn't too deep yet.
Also, head to the OOC just to be sure, I don't know if @Burning Kitty still follows this thread or not.

Once I moved to the OOC I stopped following this thread.
@Lurking Krog You really don't need to play Andromeda to do this one, while the events of Andromeda shape this game, it won't really come up. Especially the side quests. Really the only things that affect this game is the alliance with the angarans, the rescue of the various species and their Pathfinders, and the defeat of the primary antagonist.
If this goes past the rescue the quarians other things might be incorporated.
