"Sure thing." Molly led Alice down to the cabins, whistling as she did so. The witch tossed her bag inside and started to unpack. "Mind if I call top bunk?" she asked, as she removed far more things from her little handbag that it seemed it could fit.

Mollys whistling, while nice to listen to, didn't help with Alice's mood sadly. She decided to at least put an effort into it though - it was hardly the cute witches' fault the camp leaders were liars in her eyes. She chuckled, dropping her back by the beds and putting her hand on her hip.

"The lazy option would be to say aye, I'll take the bottom one...so instead, first one up there claims it!" she laughed, jumping to climb up from the side instead of using the ladder. It would mean Molly got there first, but that was half the plan...

I hope these bunks are stable!

Tempest turned her attention away from the toddler that had been muttered her name when they were approached by a boy. She looked up at him, wondering why she was so popular all of a sudden. The thought died when she realized this boy was quite attractive. She listened politely to what he had to say, making a note of his French accent. She wondered to herself what kind of Leoh he was.

She openly checked him out, completely unashamed. She finally met his eyes and smiled. "I'm Tempest." She shook his hand, lingering a little. "I've actually been coming here for three years. You don't need to be anywhere specifically right now, today is pretty much just time to explore the camp and get to know some of the people here."

She wondered if this summer might be more exciting than she was worried about. At least most Leoh boys her age were really cute, unlike human boys. She supposed she had forgot that little fact. At least she had some flirting to look forward to.

Emilia Tendo
-- Day One || Morning || The Mess Hall --

Emilia froze when one of the girls in line actually responded to her quite mumbling. Was she Tempest? Furrowing her brows in annoyance, the black haired girl placed a hand on her hip and held up the cabin assignment with another.
"Is this you?" She questioned. It had to be right? It wouldn't make any sense for this girl to ask her if she needed anything if she wasn't the person she was mentioning under her breath...unless she was generally a nice person, and in that case, Emilia had no room to argue.

Before Emilia could get any response from the assumed Tempest, a boy had came into the scene, almost out of nowhere. He was rather handsome, Emilia had to admit, but that didn't gave him any right to just interrupt their slowly forming conversation. Gritting her not so real teeth, Emilia groaned as she was being ignored by not just the boy, but Tempest too! She couldn't say that she hasn't experienced this before, but that doesn't mean that it didn't hurt. This why she usually had Fei with her, someone that doesn't realize nor care if he's being looked over or not...

Lowering her head in slight defeat, Emilia folded her arms and tapped her foot, glancing up at the boy, Mason, with a sharp gaze."Why ask her of all people, if you could have just gone to a counselor? If this you 'attempt' at flirting, you might want to come backk once you're a few years older kid." She growled before moving onto the girl, Tempest. "And you, we're roommates. The least you can do is give me a little attention before you start automatically ignoring me in public." Her words might have been a little uncalled for, but Emilia couldn't care less. That was Fei's job.

Mason smiled charmingly at the girl. Her lingering handshake did not escape him in the least, nor did her appraising gaze, and her responded in turn. He was surprised, but not unhappy to discover that the girl was even more attractive at a close distance, with a lovely face and a figure to die for. He gave himself a mental pat on the back for finding someone both cute and friendly to ask for directions, in contrast with his gruff cabin-mate. "Tempest? That's quite a unique name. It's a pleasure to meet you. If I'm not overstepping my bounds, I'd love to bide my time with you two until we're told what to do."

He tugged on the lapels of his grey overcoat, trying to create some airflow beneath it. The garment was quite stylish, having been made specifically for his measurements, and was effective at keeping him protected from the sun, but it was also quite warm, and the summer day was only going to get warmer.

He was snapped from his thoughts by the childlike voice of Emilia. His first instinct was to smile warmly and make small talk with her, as he was new to the camp and didn't know enough to judge whether or not the tiny girl was an amiable individual. However, her petulant tone and demanding attitude put him on the defensive, and he frowned in irritation. "The last "counselor" I found ended up being my cabin-mate, so I'm afraid I'm not a good judge of who is and isn't on staff. And anyway, since Miss Tempest here has been to the camp before, I figure I'll get a more honest take than one of the staff members could give." He sized up the tiny girl, then added "It's only an attempt at flirting if it misses the mark. If I didn't know better, I'd think you were jealous, kid." He chastised himself for talking down to her, but then, for the moment, he didn't see any reason to be respectful, if he himself wasn't going to be treated likewise.

He couldn't help but wonder what sort of creatures these two were. Neither was very monstrous-looking, though the smaller girl was a bit unnerving. Was it disrespectful to ask that sort of thing?

Tempest had been listening to what Mason said but froze stared down at the little kid ranting at them, nothing short of dread dawning on her.

"You're my roommate?" She frowned. "What are you, five? Last I checked you have to be thirteen to be here."

When Reimred had told her she was going to be rooming with a newbie, she had figured it'd just be some awkward thirteen year old with braces still going through their anime phase, not a toddler. She'd be damned if she was going to be roped into babysitting some kid for her whole summer. She so wasn't going to do put up with that. She just hoped this kid couldn't like, cry through the night about missing her mom or something. She also worried the kid was a snitch. She wasn't going to be able to get away with much if there was a snitch living with her.

Fei Tendo and Emilia Tendo
-- Day One || Morning || The Mess Hall --

Emilia could only initially quirk her eyebrow at Mason's response to her. How would he know that Tempest had gone here before if he himself was new to the camp just like her? While she was confused about that revelation, her anger got the better of her as she crumpled up her and her brother's cabin assignments as well as schedules when she balled her hands into fists.
"It's called looking for a purple lanyard, smartness...were you even paying attention? Heck, you could have just went to the table if you really needed it..." She grumbled under her breath before looking back up at the sickeningly handsome Mason. It was definitely clear from where she stood that his soul was an ugly, putrid gray, something she wouldn't want to be around for long, but there were a few specks of yellow and blue in there, which probably meant he wasn't too bad. That wasn't going to stop Emilia from continuing however. "Huh? Me? Jealous? Why would I be jealous of some stuck up prick who can't use common sense? She's way out of your league anyways!" Emilia was planning on saying more, but her focus was shifted to the rainbow colored soul, Tempest. It was quite odd to see a multitude of colors so evenly split between one person; she had to be special. Emilia couldn't help but delay her response to stare just a little bit longer. "... ... ...Since you've been here before you should know that appearances can be deceiving. And I am thirteen if you must know. Now, if this man could go shoo for a few minutes, I really want to ta--" Before she could finish what she wanted to say, Emilia felt a light tug on her hair. Eyes twitching ever so slightly, the girl turned, only to see her slightly taller brother standing beside her. "What are you doing here? I thought you were saving our seat?" She questioned, her earlier annoyance disappearing entirely from her voice.

Fei tilted his head ever so slightly before he finally opened his mouth.
"...A lady said her feet were hurting..." He answered, causing Emilia to facepalm. She couldn't help but adore his kindness, but now they were stuck having to find another seat.
"Sigh, it's fine, just don't wander off, okay?" Fei nodded slowly in response before looking up at both Tempest and Mason. A bit confused as to why they were looking at them, the ruby-eyed boy bowed slightly.
"H-Hello Mister...Miss..." He greeted before Emilia whispered how he didn't have to be nice to them.

Mason started to explain that he had arrived quite late, and that Tempest had told him that she was a returning camper, but then thought better of it, figuring that the tiny spitfire was likely to find some insult in anything he said, ill-intentioned or not. The girl was really starting to grate on him, and she interrupted whenever he was starting to see some connection between himself and Tempest. He scolded himself slightly, remembering the fact that there were plenty of eligible young ladies here, and that it would hardly do to tie his interests down to just one so early. Even that approach was flawed; these girls were people, not prizes. He finally shook himself back to reality as the tiny girl's brother arrived.

"Hey there, kid! You here with your little sister?" He smiled as welcomingly as he could, wishing desperately that he wasn't so far out of his depth. He just didn't know anything; the proper etiquette, any of the people, the races that were represented... nothing. He made a decision, then. He'd have to accept a loss in visible status, and ask for help.

"I'm sorry to interrupt again, Miss Tempest, but... is it rude to ask someone what sort of... creature they are? It's frankly impossible that miss... what was your name? is thirteen, unless she's a naiad or something. Are Naiads a thing? I'm a bit lost on what's real and what isn't." He shook his head ruefully. "And you, you two little ones, I'm really not trying to be rude, I just... I don't... It's all really new to me, that is. I thought I was the only strange one until just recently."

Molly grinned. "Fine, then. I guess I'll just take bottom, make things easier." She tossed a sleeping bag on the bottom bunk, not really caring about making it neat. There would be time enough for that later. "So, Alice, tell me about yourself. Your family, what you like to do- besides petty thievery, anyway."

Tempest bit back a smile as the little girl gave Mason a hard time, choosing not to defend him since he could probably do it himself. She almost laughed when the girl claimed Tempest was out of Mason’s league, feeling strangely flattered.

And okay, the kid had a point as she went into saying appearances could be deceiving. Tempest knew that. She probably shouldn’t have jumped to a conclusion like that. She made a mental note to apologize for that later. She didn’t need to make an enemy of her roommate. She also made a note to find out what the girl wanted to talk about. Tempest figured she owed her that much.

She watched as another tiny kid joined their little group. She easily figured out that the kid was her roommate’s brother, and from the brief sentences exchanged between the two she could also tell that the boy was the more mild-mannered of the two, as well as the fact that being that tiny must be pretty hard. She briefly wondered if the two of them lived in a dollhouse year-round, where the furniture would actually be the right size for them.

She looked back at Mason as he started to ask her questions. ”No, it’s not rude to ask what type of Leoh someone is. Yes, naiads are real. A few live in the lake, actually. As far as determining what’s real and what’s not, typically if more than one culture has some version of it in their mythology, then it’s a real thing,” she paused, ”I’m a witch, by the way.”

"Petty? Me last heist was in the thousands! Although I guess I shouldn't really say that like it's a good thing" Alice chuckled as she flopped on the bed, a little disappointed that Molly didn't join in. Her smile faded though as she continued "I like running, climbing, anything sporting really. Took that from me Pa, as an army man he was quite the health nut. Ma didn't mind really. Doesn't matter now either really, as both are dead. Last of me kind, the true Seers. Well, minus an ancestor whose more a hermit now. Fled from civilization as he cannae stand seeing around people anymore. What about you?"

Fei Tendo and Emilia Tendo
-- Day One || Morning || The Mess Hall --

Fei looked back over at Mason, tilting his head a bit as he took a moment to process what he was being asked; it was a common thing for the boy to do, and only something his sister and stepparents have fully gotten use to. With a slow shake of his head, the boy began.
"Y-Yes...but she's my b-big sister..." He clarified, clutching Emilia's sleeve tightly as he did so. Said girl smiled sweetly in the process, giving Fei a quickly pat on the head before bringing his attention back to Mason, who seemed to be going through something himself.

And although she didn't want to admit it, Emilia couldn't help but see a little bit of herself and her brother in the taller male. It was painfully obvious that the other was confused and scared, unaware of what was right and what was wrong. He was almost like an infant, someone that needed to be taught through new surroundings. He was like them, despite their differences. It also made more sense as Mason was showing more qualities of his soul, that being a little more bleak and appearing far more insecure, rather than the man she originally met; it was almost refreshing to see, reassuring that Emilia and Fei weren't alone on this new experience.

The twins remained quiet as Mason questioned while Tempest answered, with Emilia pipping up once Mason's spiel was directed towards them.
"Oh, it's Emilia and Fei." She began, thankful that they're past their little argument from earlier had quickly subsided. "In my opinion, I'd think that it really depends on who you're asking. It's good to be mindful of if someone use to be entirely normal before something or someone screwed with their lives. I appreciate that you approached the topic like this as it isn't rude nor aggressive." She continued, nodding in approval. "This is all really new for us too, you know? In a world where we can pass off as normal children, despite knowing the truth is much more...hollower, I can agree with how you feel. Everyone kept growing, while me and my brother stayed the same...but by coming here, we hoped to find people like us, like you, who feel out of place. And although you're a little sleazy, I hope we can get along since we have common weaknesses." She concluded before scratching the back of her head in slight embarrassment. "S-Sorry, I don't usually talk like that..." She smiled beofore taking Fei's hand and rolling his shirt sleeve up to his bicep, revealing balled joints at his wrist and elbow. "So, we have a witch, two dolls, and..." Emilia trailed off, wanted Mason to tell them what he was. It might have been a little sudden, but she hoped that with her little speech, it would give him enough courage to be more open about his insecurities and to be true to himself.

Mason listened intently, mentally jotting down all of the information he was given. It didn't come as much of a surprise to him that there were so many supernatural people; if there was a camp for them, thy must be fairly prevalent. Even so, his impression that the world was far larger than he had ever imagined was growing more and more sure.

It was both a relief and a burden to hear that asking Leoh type was acceptable, and, indeed, expected. It would help him plenty, as he'd be a bit less in the dark about all of this, but it would also put the expectation on him to open up. Indeed, even now, it seemed that the others were waiting for him to answer with his type. He smiled nervously, then answered.

"A witch, huh? That doesn't seem right. Aren't witches s'posed to be old crones, not lovely mademoiselles?" He smiled slightly, to show he was mostly kidding. "And a pair of dolls? That's really something. I d'know what mythos you two come from, but you're right. We're all three pretty lost, huh? I hope we get along all right, you seem like nice enough kids- er, I mean, dolls. People, that is." He blushed a bit at his fumbling. He was growing increasingly nervous as he got closer to his confession of type.

"Well. I s'pose you all deserve to know, seeing as how you told me what you all are. I just found out a little bit ago, maybe a year and a half. I'm a Gargoyle. I'm not great at controlling it yet, but sometimes, I become this stone-skinned, winged creature. It's... not very pretty-looking. I mean, I get horns, and a spiked tail, and these eerie golden eyes. Oh, and some serious teeth. Kinda demon-looking. I don't dislike it, exactly, I mean, flying is awesome, but when I'm in that form, sunlight hurts. A lot. I don't like it much usually, but it's especially bad then." He trailed off, blushing furiously and carefully not making eye contact with anyone.

"Grew up in the ass end of nowhere. Ten thousand trees and maybe a hundred people." Molly shrugged. "Wasn't anything to do, so I ran, climbed, and fished- whether on two legs or four. I swear, I must have spent more time with fur than as a human." She crawled onto the bed, right next to Alice. "Could you do me a favor? Tomorrow, meet me during the powers class. I know we're not together, but I'd really like you to read my future. I've always been interested in stuff like that, even if I can't get a crystal ball to work to save my life."

“Well,” Tempest began after Mason’s comments about what a witch was supposed to look like, “that actually comes from early Christians demonizing Pagans and Wiccans." She decided to cut herself off there. She could get going for hours about early witches if someone let her. Her ancestors had led some amazing lives. "It’s a long story, but most of us are actually quite good looking with the help of potions and such, and we age more slowly than humans.”

Tempest started to feel bad about making that comment about Emilia looking so young as the girl mentioned the challenges of growing up in a doll’s body. She had a difficult enough time as a Leoh, trying to fit in as a human and knowing she would always be an outsider. She could never tell her human friends the truth about her. And she wasn’t two feet tall. “I’m sorry for giving you a hard time about your height earlier, it was uncalled for.” She apologized.

She listened to Mason talk about what it was like to be a gargoyle, completely fascinated. “That’s really cool, I’ve never met a gargoyle before. How did you not know what you were before, if you can’t always control when you transform? Didn’t that happen to you before you found out that Leoh exist?” She was getting a little ahead of herself, but she was curious. She liked to learn about different species of Leoh. She also hoped that her lack of surprise would help him feel better, since he was obviously nervous about revealing his species to them. She wasn't freaked out by any species; she had met so many different types while travelling with her family that she was pretty much numb to the whole 'monster' thing.

"I grew up on an army base, I woulda traded you" Alice smiled as the girl joined her, turning on her side and looking at Molly "me Fortune-telling skills are a bit rusty, and all me powers are a wee bit..." she held up one wrist "shacked. There is more to a Seer than fortune telling you know, not that I can show you."

Fei Tendo and Emilia Tendo
-- Day One || Morning || The Mess Hall --

Emilia couldn't help but stifle a laugh when Mason pointed out that the uncanny appearance that witches usually had in folklore. He wasn't wrong...but that didn't make it any less funny to the girl. Hearing Tempest's small explanation on the whole deal made enough sense, as witches were known for creating potions and things like that. When the attention was brought back to the twins, Emilia couldn't help but smirk at the statement.
"Yup! From what I know we're one of a kind! Well...uh...two of a kind actually, heh heh." She reiterated, scratching the back of her head once again before looking over at Tempest and putting a hand up in the air. "Hey, don't worry about it. I'm just glad my roommate isn't super stuck up or anything." She sighed, briefly being reminded about Fei's roommate and how he's nowhere to be seen; maybe he could turn invisible or something? Shaking her head to rid the foolish thoughts in her head, Emilia turned back to Mason. Hearing the other accept them just as she did for him made the girl rather grateful that she couldn't physically blush. With the twins sharing a brief look, they looked back up at Mason.
"Likewise." The spoke in unison, the bond of a new friendship growing.

It was from that point onward that Emilia kept mostly silent, taking mental notes of what Mason's gargoyle form looked like and what it was weak to as Tempest asked all the questions. It probably would have been too overwhelming if she chimed in as well, but Tempest pretty much got all the points she was curious about to. Keeping a comforting smile on her face, Emilia listened intently to what Mason, Fei also surprising paying attention to the conversation as well.

Molly leaned back, resting her head on the mattress. "You've been pretty coy about what you can do, Alice. Mind at least telling me? I'll show you a little magic if you do- maybe you can learn something besides seeing." She batted her eyelids at the other girl. She was cute, admittedly, but what would her parents say if she brought home a wild little crook like this?

"Ah, but what if it's a secret? Maybe it's something rare, powerful. Hm..." Alice looked thoughtful, then after a few moments said "if you show me some magic and keep it a secret, I can tell you. Deal? It could be fun to learn magic, even if my grandmother would be horrified at the concept" she chuckled "she was a wee bit of a purist. Disowned me ma for marrying a normal."

With a slightly more confident look, Mason answered each of his newfound friends in turn. "Well, I never actually turned into a gargoyle until about last year, maybe a year and a half ago- at least, not into the form of one. I'm still not really human, and I'm mostly okay with that, but I only look inhuman at night, for the most part, and even then it's only sometimes." He smiled, remembering moonlit flights over cityscapes and woodlands alike.

"I really enjoy being in that form; I can fly, and I'm a lot stronger, and sometimes I can move into shadows, which feels strange, but kind of natural? It's not very attractive looking, though. Honestly, I look pretty horrifying. And sunlight really hurts, which is probably why I only take that form at night." He finally stopped for a breath, examining the faces of those before him as if to check that he wasn't saying too much that was out of the ordinary.

"Well. Anyway. That's me. Thanks for being so welcoming, even if the start was a bit rocky." He smiled at the twins, and winked cheekily at Tempest. "I wish I has some classes with you guys, you're all really great. I haven't felt this welcomed in a while, and it's only been a little bit. This summer might be alright... if the sun would just take a break for a while." He wiped sweat from his forehead, and sipped some water from a cheap plastic bottle from his pocket.
