@Lovejoy Well, I don't need to question it. It's obviously because of the plot gods that Indira knows. I am rather curious as to why Indira left Ziotea out of the loop, since, you know, Omestrian blood and all. I mean, obviously, Indira has a much greater relationship with Oren, Viveca and Tatiana, but still... one wonders.

@CollectorOfMyst Well, aside from thinking that Ziotea is a bit unstable, Indira barely knows her. She wouldn't trust her with this incredibly sensitive info, even if she is half-Omestrian. Not saying that Indira is in any way right or wrong to do this, but she definitely didn't give Ziotea so much as a glance after she flunked out of the Summoner's Circle all those years ago.

*snickers* In all seriousness, Ziotea lagged behind the others in her control of her ether for quite some time.

I have a question, @lovejoy. Drakey, in some of the backstory we were writing, headcanoned that those two had snuck down into some restricted library area at some point...I'm guessing it was part of the catacombs shown here. Is that in the realm of possibility? How badly were they punished, if discovered? Any chance they got away with it?

I have some other questions, but I'll take those to PM. ^.^

This is SO EXCITING. Definitely I wonder about wtf Omestrians are doing, and this information...odd that Varya's people would keep it. I'm feeling echoes of Serei no Moribito, here. *wriggles*

@shylarah That sounds cool! Maybe Ziotea broke the lock? The catacombs are supposed to be locked, which is why Indira sneaked Viveca the key. If they were caught, they were probably punished in some way, but not too severely. I'm thinking they each might've gotten like ten lashes, or something like in that vein?

@Lovejoy I figured Rodion picked the lock. Or mechanical-affinitied it off. I also figure they went there a few times -- so sure, they were caught in the end. And lashes sounds reasonable.

Stop looking at me like that, @CollectorofMyst. It's far less than some of what was done to them during training!

@CollectorOfMyst Ten lashes would suck in the moment, but pupils in the Red Seminary regularly get fucked up on the training yard. They'd have some gnarly scars afterwards but I feel they'd be able to endure that kind of punishment relatively easy.
