All four of them.
All impacted.

I am deathly terrified. I've only been put to sleep twice before and that was when I was 3 and 10. I'm 21 now and not so naive... I could die. I heard this story about a girl who was put under to get her tonsils taken out. And she ended up being put on life support. I dunno what happened to her. I saw it on the news.

Anyway... I'm terrified. I keep making myself think about the stupid things I'm going to say/do when I wake up, but in the back of my head, I'm like, "What if I never wake up?"

I am a baby.

You might get put on Vicodin. I was, and it was great. You just wake up, eat, take a pill and go back to sleep.

I got my wisdom teeth pulled, altogether a fairly painless and easy time for me because my teeth had no complications. I didn't even swell up. I also had my tonsils taken out when I was 5.

My advice is keep ice on your face for as long as humanly possible the day after, it does wonders.
As for worrying about dying from being put under, look at it this way; you're far more statistically likely to get killed driving over to the dentist than you are in the procedure. The only reason it makes headlines when someone dies from complications during something like this is because of how incredibly rare it is; people die in a car crash, nobody bats an eye. One freak accident happens at a dentist, everyone loses their minds. It's kind of like how all those Western outlaws became famous. They're not famous because they're a step above the lawless rabble that made up 90% of the Western population in the 1800s, they became famous because crime wasn't as common as popular culture would tell you and what they pulled off was unheard of at the time.

Point I'm trying to make is you're making things much worse about it thinking about a single incident instead of the countless hundreds of thousands of successful procedures that have occurred. Just keep calm, don't even think about it, and go about your business as usual. The more you let it seem like a terrifying thing, the more it's going to be so much worse, when in reality, it's a very simple procedure that you will be glad to have over with.

If you need to talk, lemme know! I'll put you at ease, or your money back.

I was petrified to have mine done, too. I had to be put completely under and I was . (To the point of quite literally shaking.) That being said, all the worry was for absolutely nothing. It was a breeze. (I didn't even bleed afterwards and I was almost entirely back to myself within a few hours of having the procedure done.) I should say I wasn't scared of pain -- I was mostly scared of throwing up from the anesthesia. (I have a vomit phobia. If you're concerned about feeling sick, they can put an antiemetic into the anesthesia cocktail and it nips it right in the bud. No problems whatsoever.)I promise you'll feel silly afterwards for having been so worried. It's nowhere near as bad as you imagine it'll be. (I literally took nothing but OTC Motrin afterwards -- I didn't even have pain.) Just stay away from foods that can potentially get stuck in the holes afterwards because that can get uncomfortable. (Avoid small foods like rice and tiny pasta -- if they get stuck in the holes it can hurt and be a pain to rinse out. You don't want to dislodge the blood clots and get dry socket because that DOES hurt. It's easy enough to avoid, however, by staying away from foods that can get stuck and not poking around the are with your tongue too much afterwards... Even though it'll be tempting. That was probably the hardest part for me was just to avoid feeling the area with my tongue afterwards -- you just sort of unconsciously do it because the area feels weird/different.)You'll be fine. Get some good movies to watch or books to read and just enjoy the resting period afterwards. :)

See, I was told it would hardly hurt but then I ended up being in excruciating pain for two weeks. It may have been because they had to crack open my jawbone and take out a lot of bone, so maybe it'll be different for Squee.

EDIT: Also my cheek swelled to the size of a baseball so LOOK FORWARD TO THAT SQUEE

I had to have part of my jaw removed for one of the teeth, too. (Impacted.) A rather unpleasant thought, of course, but I had no pain or swelling afterwards, and I was eating semi-solid foods again that very night. (Had the procedure done first thing in the morning. I had cream of wheat and things of that nature the first day, but I was eating regular solids again the next day.)

Did you have a surgeon do yours or did you have it done at the dentist?

Done at the dentist. But then again my mom had all four of hers done at the dentist and didn't experience any swelling and hardly any pain, so it's probably something that varies person to person.

I remember when I got mine done. It was kinda meh. Was freaked out at first. But that anesthesia... When I was done, my mom thought it was a good idea to take me grocery shopping with her. I was, oh, 17 or 18 at the time. Yeah, so..... Walking through the store, she realizes she forgot something, sends me off to get it. Not only was I staring at the whatever for something like 10 minutes before realizing it was right there.... When I got back to the spot she was at, I wigged out, like a 5 year old and started bawling because I couldn't find my mommy. It took another shopper taking me to my mother and going "is this yours????" XD I had to hold onto the cart the rest of the shopping trip. : P

The pain pills after that, well, I have blank periods *shrugs* They just knock me out. I am not good on pain pills. : P
