"Well..hhmm...." Harry was certainly being pushed, but finally had to fall back to his final line of defense. "What about the decisive evidence that will lock me away, hmm? You clearly don't have that, as far as I'm aware. And a stock broker like me would never leave anything incriminating behind." "We'll see about that!" Jones exclaimed as he took Harry by the hand and took him down the casino to show him what was supposedly the decisive piece of evidence that he had been waiting on. "You see...there was one little mistake you made, Harry. You managed to steal the sword during that huge crowd, but when you returned it, you forgot to take the lack of passerby into account. So, these cameras...should catch your return rather nicely!" he exclaimed, checking the cameras that watched over the sword.

"Ridiculous! Such a thing...won't exist!" Harry exclaimed as the footage played, second by second as the sword was absent from its sheath and the carpet, second by second passing by as the decisive moment drew near. A small shadow flickered by the walls and Harry gulped and then...in a flash...the sword appeared on the ground. The cameras had failed to pick Harry up, meaning that they were more focused on the tables than Harry himself. "Grrrghh!" Jones grunted out, as Harry regained his composure. "Don't you see, detectives? You don't have anything against me and you never will!"

"Oh.. Such a thing doesn't exist, Harry? I doubt that, really. Because...that dooms you, infact! The fact that the sword was placed back down...we can easily check the timestamp and confirm Kate wasn't there at the time. and furthermore, remember that note? Ya'know.. The one which your fingerprints should be on, but I can ensure you we will get glove prints. In-fact... they are on almost everything you touched, if I were to bet. That ripped up contract, which you've particularly conceded to doing with admitting my motive was valid, those which we could easily get from the whisky bottles, and finally. the ones on the sword and it's sheath. considering the facial cream too, all the more evidence against you...however, if those gloves match up, I can ensure you that all of that evidence alone will be enough to be the very thing to convict you. Oh, and do me one more favor. Rewind that footage a bit more, try to scan through it... and you'll see if we can pick up anything else. But either way, I do believe this is Checkmate. Anything to say until we get the evidence that'll doom you?"

"GRrrggghhhh..." Harry groaned as he realized his huge mistake, before yelling out in agony. "Heh...Hehehehehehe....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA! Well, you're not as dumb as you look! After all, it looks like you were able to crack my case, with the glove prints on the vodka bottle at that! But we all make mistakes, don't we? Just like with Samuel when he bragged about that job offer with Greene and I found him out. After that, I took it upon myself to take him out for one last night. To celebrate. But it's such a shame that you had to arrest me now...I had something beautiful planned for Alden Greene." "Urgh...I'm not sure that your meaning of the word "beautiful" is the same as ours," Jones replied, as he took out his cuffs and cuffed Harry Krane, Harry applying his precious face cream one last time before he was arrested, with Jones walking him out of the casino. If Charles wanted to say any last words to Krane, this would be his final chance to speak with him.

"Was it truly worth it all in the end, to just kill a man over a job offer? You had Millions, a successful career in your future.. and you blew it all on homicide. Do you have any regrets for wasting your life away for some pity revenge plot? It truly wasn't all worth it in the end, even you must admit to that. Perhaps some time behind bars though... 20-30 years, would likely give you quite the bit of time to regret all of your actions, in the end-scheme. Perhaps you'll even begin to realize that money and pride aren't the only things to a happy life, perhaps? But, i'm not sure if you'll ever understand that. Just think about it though, you saw all of those lower-class people who could barely afford anything, and they lived such happy lives. Is that not indication that pride and money aren't the only things to life that make someone have worth? But, I digress. just keep my words in mind while you are rotting away in a jail-cell for a good chunk of your remaining life. anyways, Jones. Take him away, that is all i had to say."

"Risks have to be taken by stock brokers in order to make it to the top, Charles...I just failed in taking one and it cost me all of my money. You'll see, Charles. You'll have to take a risk in the future that may cost you your life and then you'll realize just how much you had to gain..." Harry spoke as Jones guided him out of the building and took him into a police car, before slamming the door and driving off. This would leave Charles alone in the casino, as he had just made his first arrest in the Financial District. Although Jones doubted that everyone in the district would be a raging psychopath, the murders that would occur in the city over the next few weeks would prove him wrong.

Bomb Alert on Grimsborough: Chapter One

It was a fine day for Grimsborough and Jones had just gone to the park with Charles and James, deciding to enjoy his lunch break in front of the Eastfield Markets and Greene Banking. A statue of W. Cooper, one of the founding fathers of Grimsborough, stood in middle of the park as Jones ordered three hot dogs from a nearby hot dog stand, as a man with some dark sunglasses passed Jones his dogs, wrapped in some greasy wrappers. "You've got to try these dogs!" Jones told the others, as he passed them one hot dog each. "They're the finest hotdogs in the city and I've never seen anyone who could make a better dog than Alfred Ziegler." He leaned up against a nearby tree and began to eat, checking his watch to make sure that he'd be able to drive back to the station in time.

"Yeah, it tastes pretty good." He'd take a bite into the hot-dog, laying by the tree. When he wasn't on duty, he seemed to be a pretty laid back type. "Wanna go take a bit of a walk around the center? I think that it's too beautiful of a day outside to just be sitting around and doing nothing." He'd hop upwards, going towards the center of the park. "Hmm... Let's see here.." He'd examine the area carefully, making sure to not trip on a rock or anything. still in earshot of Jones though, he was saying "Reminds me of a few years ago when I was walking along this very park, and I tripped and broke my nose because of a crack on the pavement. I managed to get $1000 Out of Greene, Since they are supposed to be the ones maintaining this. I doubt that they are still the ones still doing so, though." He'd continue to walk about, sorta just pacing around the park and looking at his surroundings.

As Charles examined the park, he would see a few people posing by the statue, two people standing by a bush and facing Greene Banking as one of them walked towards the bank, while there were three others who were in line at the hot dog stand. Jones would comment on Charles' lawsuit, continuing the conversation by saying, "Well, I'm sure that Greene wouldn't have taken care of the lawsuit himself since it was quite small, but I'm impressed that you got 1 grand out of that unfortunate slip." The two men were still standing by the bush and talking as the older one with a prosthetic leg hobbled along, talking to the younger man in the camouflaged outfit about something, but Jones couldn't quite decipher what it was.

He'd walk up to the older man, and introduced himself. "I apologize for the interruption, but I just wanted to come up and say hello." He knew that he would have to diffuse this argument, before it turned into a full on brawl. He'd say extremely calmly, walking towards the two. "My name is David Charles. What is yours?" He'd give a warm smile of the sorts, staring at the two. It was almost as if he was unflinching, despite the clear tenseness of this situation. "I noticed that there was a bit of a ruckus over here, and I wanted to make sure that nothing was going wrong." Despite being a bit older, they could clearly tell that Charles wasn't the type to back down. and if they continued making a ruckus, he would make it go away. No matter how much it would take in order to do, in the end-scheme of things.

"Oh, there is no need to worry, David, we were just having a bit of a talk, I'm his father, Henry Crosby, no relation to the hockey player. We were just waiting on someone, but it looks like they're running late." He would gaze in the direction of the tarp markets for a little bit, before his son gave him a nod, Henry returning the favor. "Well, what brings an officer like you here to the park at such a time? I've heard about that dreadful stock trader murder, but that's what you get when you live in such a competitive district, as you'll be under the watch of people who are deranged and psychopathic over winning. I heard that he got life imprisonment with no parole for what he had done, especially with that threat he made to a billionaire in court," he continued, as some people on the streets continued to walk along, a female banker taking a break at a park bench to eat her lunch, having just left Greene Banking.

"Ah, of course. Well, speaking of him. I believe he got exactly what he deserved with his sentencing. He had did a crime out of pure idioticy, and he got the consequences for it. If they had not abolished the death penalty a few years ago, I'd bet you for a fact that he would've gotten the full end of that. It is my honest belief that no matter how tricky a criminal is, justice will and always will prevail in the end. No matter who it is, how it was done, or why it happened. Nobody is truly above the law, and that is my belief. I will prove it to the fullest of effect too, and clean up this distract entirely. No more corruption, no more lies, it will be like the old days. when you could sit at a park, and enjoy your life without the worries of getting mugged or shot at every possible corner. Of course, you likely don't have those problems here... But, I hope you do get my overall meaning by what I am stating there." He'd continue to walk along, still talking to the man. "So... Whos this other person your waiting for? a friend?"

"Oh, it's no one too big, but I was looking forward to having a chat with them, as they did say that they would be here..." Crosby trailed off as he walked back to the bank. "Oh, and as for the corruption in this city, it's a shame that it hasn't been fully cleaned up yet. I still know that it still exists, even the faintest-"

KABOOOOOOOOM! A loud explosion rocked the park as blood and flesh was flown across the statue of Cooper, metal shards and various bits of sinew flying through the air as a woman shrieked and screamed. The younger man stood still for one moment, holding something in his hand with a button...before running with his prosthetic leg as if he was swallowed up by a wave of adrenaline, bursting down the streets as he had the advantage of surprise. The woman who was just having her lunch fell to her knees as the passerby stopped in their tracks, the hot dog man across the street dropping his tongs and looking around fervently. But that was enough for Jones to snap into action, as he yelled "Charles, let's catch that suspect!", before darting down the road after him, clutching onto his hot dog as he ran across the street, the suspect running down a row of red brick buildings.

Objective: Catch that runaway man before he gets away!

Despite being clearly injuries, a bloodstain on the side of his coat. He ran after the man like the injury had been nothing, having the speed of a 22 year old despite his age. He ended up running towards the man, and pulling out his tazer that he usually keeps around with him for self defense While still chasing after him. "Stop this instant, or else I'll have to use aggressive force." He stared at the man for a few seconds, waiting to see until he ran... Before LUNGING at him with the tazer! Making sure it was on before plunging it at the man's back, making sure to use the typical police standard restraining tecquines in the meanwhile. Although his grip was a bit loose, so the man could very easily get out. And the voltage on the taser itself wasn't that strong, so it would likely only daze the man for a second or two at the most before he would realize the situation once more. "Just give it up, and there won't have to be anymore death or the like here. do you understand that?"

The man would have been tazed for a moment, but yelled something about the enemy using electrostasis on him before re-doubling his efforts, activating a huge adrenaline rush and trying to climb a ladder on one of the brownstone buildings, surrounded by some barriers so he could grab onto something if he slipped. It looked like this fight was going to continue, so Jones continued his pursuit of the presumed killer, being the second to reach the ladder, all while trying to grab onto the man's foot or corner him atop the building. "You're just the enemy! Stay back, or I'll have to use force on you! The war's never over when the enemy tries to launch a surprise attack on you!" he yelled out, as Jones seemed confused. Did this man have a mental issue from the war and if so, was he aware of what he may have just done? Either way, the man hopped up onto a 3 story building, looking around on the rooftops before gulping and running down the roof of the building, Jones noting that the man did not have the remote on him anymore.

"Dammit, not another mental breakdown... I've seen enough of those in courts already, so why the hell do I have to be the one to chase this guy?' He'd look at the puncture wound on his shoulder. it wasn't anything deep in the slightest, lucky enough. Although it did hurt abit, it luckily had no metal in it. "Heh.. Guess i got lucky, too bad the other guy didn't, though." He'd numble to himself as he pulled himself up the ladder, too. Chasing after him, he got up to the top and started to run after the man. Before lunging at him, tackling him and subduing him in a millary-style hold. "Hmph. i suppose going to boot camp was the right thing to do, in the end. It's amazing what they can teach you there, even if your only in the military for about a year or so." He'd look down at the man. "Jones, go and get a bit of backup." He'd say as he tried to reach for his cuffs, still attempting to keep the man pinned down to the best of his abillty. even with his small injury giving him a bit of agony.

The man continued to scream as he was put into handcuffs, yelling "What's going on...? Are we...are we under attack...bombings..." before falling over and coming back to his senses. His wallet fell out of his pocket, displaying his name as Shaun Crosby, the supposed son of the victim. With this in mind, Jones tried to speak to the man, asking "Are you aware of what you've just done? You are currently the prime suspect in the murder of your own father, Mr. Crosby." "I...what...what? All I remember was an explosion and then...jets of black flame engulfing me like the sunlight...the sunlight...burning into my core..." he stumbled out, trying to get his words back on track. "I must have had another one...of my attacks." It looked like he was coming back to his senses and asking a few questions wouldn't hurt.

"For one, what was that remote in your hands?" He'd stare downwards at the man, speaking in his radio in the meanwhile "Theres been a bombing at the Cooper Park. Theres one known Individual dead, and possibly others injured or disorganized. We need all units towards there right away, secure the entire area and it's surroundings. There might still be more bombs laying around, so be careful. Men, I repeat. theirs been a bombing at Cooper Park, all units needed. One suspect is currently in custody." He'd just his radio down for a few minutes. "And furthermore, why did you run like you did? It gave off the impression that you were almost trying to escape from the police. Do you perhaps have some mental illness, such as PTSD?" He'd whisper to Jones. "I'll keep an eye on him, he's clearly dangerous however. We need to get him to the station before he ends up pulling any getaways like that, or activates any further bombings or the like. Get a squad car or two to transport him, and do me a favor and get me a wet rag, some disinfectant, and some bandages. I believe I was hit by a bit of the Shrapnel. It isn't anything serious to send me out of duty however, so theres no need to worry.

Jones would slide down the ladder to go to a nearby business and obtain some first aid, all while he also checked to see if any cars were inbound. The supposed suspect, Shaun Crosby, looked up at Charles, before sputtering out, "I have PTSD...just check my wallet..." he said between bursts of tears, as he realized that his life was coming to an end at the hands of these SWAT vehicles. "I...swear...I wouldn't kill my father, no matter what. The only place he ever went to...we went to...was the Eastfield Markets, we tried to settle down after fighting in the war, just like father and son." He would look up as much as he could at the markets in the distance past the bank, before shedding a tear and collapsing onto the ground, as the sounds of SWAT trucks would become more and more prominent in the distance, Jones returning with some temporary first aid containing the required goods.

He'd treat his wound with the first aide kit, making sure that it was nothing serious while dressing it. "Okay, good.... Now, we just have to get this man down to the station as soon as we physically can. Actually, you go and do that. I need to go and get to the crime scene, make sure everyone is alright." Despite being clearly disgruntled and somewhat in a state of shock, Charles climbed down the ladder and began to run back to the scene without Jones being able to say a thing. looking among the chaos for anything that he could grab. Like the remote that had been dropped prior, perhaps. "C'mon, there has to be something I can grab before it's trampled by the crowds.." He'd quickly search through, still running down the street in the process while he had been passing by building after building. His eyes not blinking in the slightest, despite the shrapnel from the explosion making him stumble about a tiny bit.

Since he was looking at the streets, Charles would continue to move, Jones talking to some SWAT officers as Shaun was ripped down from the building's roof and sent down to the ground. He cried out in sorrow as he was taken into a SWAT van before being shipped to the Grimsborough Police Department, if the detectives ever needed to question him. Taking his comment about Eastfield Market into consideration, Jones slid down the ladder, before looking around alongside Charles for the remote. Charles would eventually find the homemade remote by the side of a dumpster, Shaun must have tossed it in his getaway but must have missed in the process. It was a little battered from the throw, but it still had a very clear button on the front that could be pressed to detonate the bomb...although it had already exploded, from what it seemed. Jones continued to walk down the road, checking for any signs of blood and finding a small trail of Shaun's blood, possibly from a wound that he might have suffered when he was running for his freedom.
