A few hours before the ceremony...

"Before I choose a suitor for King, I'll like to visit the tombs." Morganna told her guard, Randolph, who was now walking out of her room to inform the stable boy to ready a horse for her journey. This day came a lot faster than she had bargained for and now, she was going to choose a potential King for her family's Kingdom. A sigh came over her and escaped over her lips as she waved her handmaidens away then stood up from her vanity, waltzing over towards her window and her eyes situated at the suitors below.

She scoffed to herself after thinking if this was a good idea or not. Morganna just shrugged her shoulders and just decided to go along with the process. When she was finished, it seemed like someone was watching her because a knock had came over her door and it was her guard, Randolph. "Your majesty, the horse and carriage is ready." Randolph, her most trusted guard spoke as Morganna responded. "Thank you, Randolph." She stood up now and grabbed her crown as she placed it onto her head.

Morganna walked to the door and turned the knob, looking up at Randolph as she lead the way and Randolph trailed behind her. She went through the secret passageway, so that way no one would see her before the ceremony and feast. When she got to her carriage, she turned heel to face Randolph and could not help but smile up towards him. "Cover for me." Morganna spoke as Randolph nodded his head and helped Morganna up into her carriage.

The ride over towards the tombs was bumpy and she could hear the gravel crumbling beneath her. The tombs weren't that far from the castle so she really had nothing to worry about but when the carriage stopped, she was frozen. "We're here, your majesty." The rider mentioned as he hopped down from his seated position and opened the carriage door, holding his hand out for her to take. She eventually grasped his hand into hers then walked out of the carriage, eyes scrolled up to the double doors of the tomb.

Inside, she rubbed her hand over her father's and brother's tomb and felt her eyes tearing up. "I will find the people that did this and make them suffer." Morganna muttered as she turned heel and walked out of the tombs now and wiped the tears away from her eyes as the rider helped her back into the carriage now.

At the ceremony...

Her carriage had made it back to the Kingdom and walked into the grand dining hall to a fanfare as her announcer announced her to her suitors. Morganna waltzed with slight elegance and grace, trying to hide her true feelings after visiting the tombs. She made it to her the seat at the end of the table and sat down, motioning her hand for everyone else to sit down after her. Morganna really had no words right now as she wanted to eat before making her announcement.

Morganna motioned for her suitors to go ahead and dig right on in as her plate was tasted before she did the same. Eat first, speech second. She repeatedly said in her mind as she continued eating and looking at the suitors before her mingle with each other. She had someone already picked out and she hoped that he was going to make a fantastic King.

He had no real idea why he had been summoned.
Well, Meldyr expected it was simple courtesy. He was a lord of the realm, albeit a minor one that lived in a backwater area of the nation. He wore armor and cloaks more than fine coats, and he practiced the sword with a dedication that matched other lords in practicing dining etiquette. For once, however, his face was not covered in the grime of the mudded mountains he patrolled, nor did he have any unattended wounds or aches, having left the defense of the eastern passes to his second in command, Frankfurt.

His face was ruddy from the road, however. Meldyr cut a darkly handsome figure in his coat and breeches, albeit an unkempt figure. He held himself with confidence and there was a gleam of intelligence in his eyes as he stepped into the great hall. His eyes left the stonework of the outer hall and drank in all of the fine lords and ladies that mingled and ate fresh chicken, peas, apples, potatos, and enjoyed the finest wine.

He sighed, remembering how it was in his father's court in what seemed a lifetime ago. It looked very much like this, only Meldyr was the High lord's son, not some outcast Knight commander with a small fief. The pompous scene reminded him of why he had actually decided to come. First and foremost he didn't want to give a bad impression with not showing up to the new Queen. But he also wanted to see what kind of woman she was. He wanted to make sure he was following a strong reagent and not a corrupt or lazy one.

A servant passed him by with a plate of drinks. "Is there ale?" Meldyr asked, his voice was not boisterous or loud, but there was a commanding undertone only a Knight used to combat would have.

"No sir, only wine." The servant said. Meldyr sighed, and took a glass, the slim neck of the glass between his ring and middle finger. "Guess that'll do."

A guy, a King from two Kingdoms over was chatting away towards Morganna. She laughed at some of his words and even questioned some of his words but little did he know, it was too late to impress her. The Gods knew that she wanted to tell him that but she kept it to herself but whenever she made her announcement, he was going to be for a slight surprise. "Pardon me." Morganna said towards the man, who was already a King then stood up and walked around the table. Her eyes peered at every male present, offering some of them smiles but she was really seeing if they were done with their meals or almost finished.

It was then she heard someone, a male, that he guessed that the wine will do and Morganna stopped in her tracks and eyed him. It was brief as she continued her trek and went back over to her seat now with Randolph by her side. "If you all will follow me to the throne room, I would like to go ahead and make the announcement on who the new King will be." Without a moment going by, she turned heel and made a small trek towards the throne room after Randolph opened the double doors. She entered the room with such grace and elegance that no one rarely knew that she had. She stood perched by her throne while beside her was an empty throne with a crown fit for a King upon it.

Once everyone filled the room and Randolph silenced them with a clap of his hands, she cleared her throat and talked loud enough for everyone to hear her. "I want to thank all of you for your presences and participation of the games that have been played. You guys are the last ones standing and for that, you are all winners but only one of you can be King. King of Castillian." She waited to see if any of them were going to applaud but no one did. They weren't going to cheer for their future King either or so it seemed like to her.

"Well, I guess I should not waste anymore time." Morganna stated as she heard murmurs coming from the lads before her now. "Can Lord Marten come up, please?" The Lord made his way up to her excitedly as he knelt before her and she smirked, knowing to herself that he wasn't exactly her pick for King but she made him and everyone else think so. "You are not my pick for King but my pick to spend some time in the dungeon. Remember your remark to me? 'I'll fuck you and you will give me an heir'. Is that what you said?" Morganna mentioned before everyone but Marten pleaded his case as she shook her hand towards. "Take him away. I'll decide on his punishment later."

Once everything settled down, she clasped her hands together and placed them in front of her with a smile forming among her lips. "And now, your future King is..." Silence filled the room now as many men leaned in with slight intrigue. The suspense filling up the room now. "Please welcome Melydr Meadowbrook, King of Castillian." She stated. Morganna leaned over and grabbed the King's crown, waiting for Meldyr to stand before her. When he was standing in front of her, she would place the crown onto the top of his head and curtsy towards him.

"Grace us with a speech, Your Majesty?" Morganna practically insisted as she waited to see what he was exactly going to do and what was going to happen.

Meldyr had not even eaten yet, and though he was hungry from the road he was used to not eating until his men did. Years on campaign kept him from complaining, though the wine was good. Better than the wine where he came from.

When the Queen arrived, he had to admit she was beautiful. Golden haired and shapely, and resplendent in her royal dress. He had heard about her but he had never met her in person himself. She seemed intelligent in the eyes and her manner of speech at least, though maybe a bit sheltered. He fully expected to sit down and eat dinner, swear fealty to the new pompous King, whoever it was, and then go home. He had to admit while she seemed to fit royalty, no other nobleman or suitor here seemed fit to him. He wondered who she would chose. Hopefully not just one she found handsome.

All of this is why one cannot stress just how odd it was to see the normally calm and confident Meldyr's jaw drop and hit the floor when she announced he was not only to become the next king, but marry her. If he had wine in his mouth he would have spit it out. All eyes turned to him, and he blinked with uncertainty, swallowing. A hush fell over the crowd as they awaited his next move.

Slowly, after a long pause, he willed himself to move. He squared his shoulders, and held his head high. He looked as if he was receiving as commendation or a knighthood rather than the crown, and he strode toward the Queen with his hand handsomely on his sword hilt, and his other hand at his side in a closed fist. He knelt down before her and allowed her to place the crown upon his thick mane of dark hair. Once he felt the weight on his head, he swore he could feel the weight of the whole kingdom.

He stood tall, and when his new fiance (he needed to get used to that) told him to give a speech, he glanced at her, and then collected himself and turned to the crowd. He drew in a breath, and despite himself he seemed to be the quintessential King, both a warrior and a commander. "As is my duty, I will do my best to serve this Kingdom." he said, his voice strong. "I cannot say I arrived here expecting to be crowned, but as my Queen has honored me, I shall lay down my life for this Kingdom. We will rule in the name of justice and prosperity."

He placed a hand on his chest. "You have my word."

Once Meldyr delivered his speech, Morganna made a slight face. "That was it?" She thought to herself about his speech but stayed silent about the manner, for now. When she was crowned Queen, she gave her people at least a paragraph or two, full fledged speech but hey, he was a King in training so she didn't hassle the thought any longer. Though, after his speech, a scattered applause could be heard throughout the throne room as Morganna smiled towards him now.

"Congratulations, my King." She muttered sweetly then turned towards the others, dismissing them with the wave of her hand but thanked them for their time and services. Once Randolph and other guards cleared then exited the room, she let out a small breath and turned back towards Meldyr with another smile. "So, how does it feel to be King of Castillian?" Morganna questioned towards him while holding her hand out towards the throne, the one fit for a King, practically offering him to sit down.

Morganna had ruled over the kingdom by herself for quite sometime now and having a King beside her, things were going to be a bit easier. Before Meldyr could answer her previous question, she went to rambling about how she sees herself in this King and Queen relationship. "Just so you know, I do not want to be one of those Queen's that just sit here and smile while you make all the decisions. I do not want to be one of those Queen's that cannot talk things over with her King. Sure, Queens are suppose to stand behind their King but I rather choose to stand beside you."

Once she was done, she walked over to her throne and sat down gracefully, running her hands over her ceremonial dress then lifting them up to adjust her crown. Her eyes peered towards Meldyr again, waiting for a response from him.

The speech could have gone better, but he was used to giving charismatic speeches to his comrades and men-at-arms rather than Lords who would now seek his favor. He'd need to learn the ropes from his new fiance. He was certain she would help him. After all she'd picked him, and for what reason he was intensely curious about. His eyes followed the bannermen as they left, and he turned to her as she asked him a friendly question, only to barrage him with some guidelines he was not prepared for.

Watching her sit upon her throne imperiously and look at him, he simply gazed back at her for a moment, sizing her up and appreciating her forward words. He'd rather honesty than passive aggressive any day. "I would say I would not want a Queen or a wife that did not take what was hers or valued her own worth." He said, giving her a bow, his dark hair slipping over his shoulder before lifting himself back up. "And I'll need your help to...serve my country, as it were."

The warrior gave a somewhat helpless chuckle at that last statement, and strode up to her. "As to how I feel, my Queen. Very surprised does not even scratch the surface but, honored as well." Meldyr did not want her to think he was not extremely flattered and honored, even if he had been taken aback. "I figured I'd ride here to gauge the new king, eat some free food and ride back to my small barony, but that didn't go exactly as expected." It was a joke, and he sat on his throne next to her. He hoped his attempt at humor lightened her up. "Since we're being honest, I'd like to ask why I was chosen if you'd tell me."

Morganna felt honestly grateful and relieved to hear his response about what he wanted in a Queen, better yet herself. The next thing out of his mouth made her smile a little bit. "I am here to help you, Meldyr. No matter what it takes." She remarked. Morganna was honestly already taking a liking to Meldyr. His wording really impressed her and so did his aura and stance. When he mentioned that he was honored to be King, she couldn't help but blush a little but tried to shy away by lowering her head towards the ground.

"I am glad that you feel honored, my King. Many probably wouldn't feel that way." She mentioned with the shrug of her shoulders at the end of that sentence. Morganna could not help but chuckle softly at his next words as she shook her head and placed her hand on top of his. "You shouldn't be so quick to doubt yourself." She then removed her hand and listened to his next question.

Morganna breathed in the air around them for a moment then looked toward the double doors before them. "Well, you possess a potential that I rarely see in anyone. From the moment you came through those gates, I felt something about you and know that you will make a great King. Be my King." Morganna eyes turned back towards Meldyr as she smiled over towards him now.

"Would you like to ride to the garden? Or what would you like to do, my King?" She questioned him with a soft smile forming over her lips.

The throne he sat in was a bit intimidating, and he still felt this entire situation was more surreal than anything. As if he'd wake up from an odd dream in mere moments and return to his usual duties. However, Morgana's delicate and warm hand on his felt very real. He would need to accept this. It was his new duty, however unfit he saw himself. He would do his best. In a way he could see him leading a somewhat similar life to what he had already been living.

When the Queen looked to him, he gazed back into her eyes and found himself smiling. The easiest part of this turn of events was Morgana, which was something he hadn't expected. Most Ladies or Queens were not very understanding, but he found himself both impressed and attracted to her. "I'll be your King." He said to her, letting the words hang in the air for a moment as he realized they were looking at one another a bit too long.

"I um..." he began, looking to the tables in the Great Hall, considering what to do. This had happened so fast, and he was often too busy to consider how to spend any downtime, other than the occasional drinking bout or duel. But he supposed if there were any pressing issues, the Queen would be schooling him on such, instead of wishing to get to know him. He bit his tongue, dark eyes cast downward as he thought of what to do. "You know, riding is a fine idea." He decided, looking up to give her a soft grin in return.

He cleared his throat and ascended from the throne, still glad he wore his traveling clothes. He supposed he looked a bit off, unkempt and rugged with a sword at his belt and a soldier's attire. However, it was fine clothing to ride in. He held out an arm for his Queen to take. "I admit I've not had the pleasure of seeing the gardens before." He commented, a bit curious on the Palace. He would be living here, after all.

When Meldyr stated that he would be her King, Morganna was honestly relieved and even threw a little smile towards him. "And I'll be your Queen." She remarked while looking a little bit longingly into his eyes then he drifted his gaze away from hers, which caused her to look towards the floor beneath them now but still listening to his words. "Riding does sound like a fine idea. Randolph!" She called out and he immediately busted through the doors that lead to the throne room now.

"Ready the carriage, for me and your King." Morganna commanded as Randolph nodded his head and muttered the usual phrase. "Yes, my Queen." She smiled as she turned towards Meldyr and saw him grinning towards her, which caused her a slight blush. Morganna eyed Meldyr as he stood up, which made her a little bit nervous but seeing his arm being stuck out made her a little at ease then hearing his words made her stand up. "Oh, our gardens are lovely, my King. They are also breathtaking."

After she spoke those words, she linked her own arm with his as she practically lead them out of the throne room. Everyone they had walked by and seen, bowed towards them out of respect. People were already accepting Meldyr as their King and she was honestly happy with her people right about now. Once they had reached the outside, the carriage was waiting for them and Randolph helped her inside. "Thanks, Randolph." Once Meldyr was inside and ready, she directed the driver to go towards the gardens.

"By the way, Randolph is my most trusted guard. Not sure if I told you that or not." She mentioned towards him as her eyes fluttered to the scenery that lead to the gardens. She loved going to the gardens. They made her feel peaceful, serenity and at ease. It's the one place that she was often go to just think about certain matters, her father and even her brother. Morganna released a heavy sigh, which could be heard by Meldyr as she pointed up ahead. "We're here."

Once the carriage stopped, she literally maneuvered on Meldyr to get out and landed on her feet. She had the gardens covered with a dome since she use to spend a lot of her time out there and when Meldyr came to stand beside her, she without thought, grabbed his hand and leaned on him. "I cannot wait for you to see it." She practically squealed as she then basically dragged him inside of the dome and stopped, just to take in the moment but she still held onto Meldyr's hand.

He was ready to escort her to wherever she wished, to be courteous and to show his willingness for their marriage. But to his utter surprise she was more giddy than he had anticipated, practically dragging him forward with an excited and girlish energy. It was endearing, he felt. After they had entered the carriage, he realized she had the attractiveness and glee of a pretty girl with the wisdom of a Queen.

Quite pretty, he noted as she gazed at the gardens with the same interest as he gazed at her, finally admiring how the hard Knight might actually enjoy being married to her. Not that he had any reservations on her in general, but it had happened so fast. It seemed he was getting a bit more comfortable, however. Meldyr had initially thought the 'ride' would be both of them on horses as well, but he supposed that was fooling to think. Looking past her long lashes, he did see the gardens and was quite intrigued. He wasn't used to such natural beauty being so tentatively cared for.

Only for his mind to whip straight back to her as she leaned on him, and he felt himself flushing slightly, before she grabbed his callused hand and dragged him forward once again. However, this time he didn't blink in surprise. He gave a chuckle at her energy and had a smile on his handsome face. "Alright, ok, let's see it." He said, his voice low yet smooth in pitch. Meldyr was just happy she was excited to show him the gardens even closer. That is, until she stopped to take in the moment.

Her small hand was still gripping his own, and he squeezed it a bit. The top of her golden head was only a bit taller than his shoulder, and his dark eyes fell on her as he tilted his head. After a moment, he lifted up her hand and kissed, his usually courageous eyes looking a tad softer than usual. He gave her a helpless smile, before nodded her forward. "I'm anxious to see. If it impresses you, then I'm excited."

When Meldyr reached her hand up and gave a gentle kiss onto it, she widened her eyes then looked at his, which had a softer tone to them now. She smiled and blushed a little then averted her eyes back towards the gardens. Morganna heard his words, which made her a little bit speechless for the moment. "Uhm..." She muttered before swallowing some saliva then rested her head upon his muscular shoulder.

"You're impressing me already, my King." Morganna mumbled softly then lifted her head from his shoulder and proceeded to walk further into the dome now, pointing at various flowers and explaining them towards Meldyr.

It was whenever she came across a rare, red rose that was in a glass case and Morganna removed her hand from his then walked closer to the glass case. She turned towards Meldyr for a moment then parted her mouth to speak. "This was given to me by my father just mere days before his death. I make sure it is taken care of properly, which means that I take care of it myself."

Morganna informed him then sighed afterwards, rubbing the glass case delicately with her hand.

After a few more moments of reminiscing, she went back by Meldyr's side and grabbed his hand again then waved her free hand around the domed garden. "That's the garden. Is there anything else you wish to see?" She batted her eyelashes up at him. Morganna was honestly tired and just wanted to rest into her chambers now but if Meldyr wanted to do something else, she certainly wasn't going to be against it.

Meldyr crossed his arms and breathed in as she walked towards the rose, its lush petals still full and healthy. He couldn't have guessed its significance, but he raised his chin a bit higher as it dawned on him, and he gained a somewhat solemn expression to honor her father's memory. He had met the King on two occasions, though each were quick. He was a good military man, which in Meldyr's experience showed that he often had an ordered way about his personal life as well.

"I make sure it is taken care of properly, which means that I take care of it myself." Meldyr could not help but smile at her, knowing full well her confidence must come from her father. The recently crowned King was glad she wasn't shy or overly fragile. No one could rule in that way, and he would have had a hard time finding a potential wife with those qualities to be a good match for him. He'd much rather a woman with confidence.

Of course, he couldn't help but feel a certain attraction towards her when she batted her eyelashes at him. Her gaze seemed to ensnare him for a few moments as he realized just how pretty she was.

It was his turn to be a bit flustered, but he decided he should have some time to adjust to everything. "Well," he began, gathering his thoughts. "I'd enjoy some rest now. But perhaps tomorrow you could show me around the Palace? Maybe I could take you horseback riding in the countryside. Close by. Whatever my Queen wishes." He gave a smile, bowing lightly and extending his hand.

Morganna woke up from yesterday with a smile plastered upon her face as the sun shone through her curtains. She rolled over to hope to find Meldyr there but she remembered that she Randolph escort him to a separate chamber. She liked Meldyr because he had a potential about him to be the greatest king within the kingdom. It wasn't like Morganna to like someone so easily but Meldyr was different and she knew it.

Whenever she was fully awake, she lifted herself out of bed and placed a robe over her sleeping gown. She opened her chamber door, just to see her trusted guard, Randolph approaching. "Ah, m'lady, you are awake." Randolph spoke as she nodded her head with a soft smile. "Yes. Make sure the cooks are prepping for breakfast and send some handmaidens to draw myself and Meldyr a bath, as well."

Randolph bowed his head towards her and turned heel to walk to do as he was told.

With a slight smirk forming over her lips, she sneaked off and went towards the chamber where Meldyr was currently residing. She was going to knock but shrugged it off and just opened the door. "Meldyr, are you awake?" Her voice sang as she waltzed over towards the curtains and opened them up widely. So, if he wasn't awake, he surely was going to be now. "The cooks are preparing breakfast for us and I have handmaidens coming shortly to draw us baths. So, rise and shine." Morganna informed Meldyr with a smile as she walked back over towards the chamber door, looking at him for a little while longer.

"By the way, I had a nice time with you in the gardens." She mentioned. "I hope to have fun with you today, as well, showing you the palace." She said then ended with a firm nod of her head and waited to see if he was going to say anything before she exited his chambers and went back to her own, closing the door and walking back over to her bed, sitting on the side of it.

She was honestly ready for the new day to start that she could not wait.

Meldyr could not get to sleep for quite awhile. Needless to say he had much on his mind, and he had expected to be sleeping on the road in a small cot he had brought, not a bed fit for a prince in the chambers of the palace. He wasn't ungrateful, but entirely unprepared and far more used to hardship than luxury. However, once he did manage to fall asleep, he slept hard. It had been a long days ride, and after that, of course, he found out he would be king.

Of course, his sound sleep was interrupted after a blazing light suddenly filled his vision. After that, a woman's voice filled his brain and be blinked groggily, sitting up. He had reached for a knife that wasn't there, but that was before he realized where he was and who was waking him. Once he sat up, his thick hair was everywhere and his normally handsome face had a pillow line on his cheek. "Oh...good." He said about the cooks and bath.

He wished he could give something more congenial when she said she had a nice time, but he had just woken up. "I'm looking forward to it to. I just need to tear myself out of this coma...will I be woken up like this everyday?" he joked, then realized he was now making quips at the Queen. Thankfully, she didn't seem to mind. Once she was gone, he slipped out of bed and collected himself, awaiting the bath and the food.

He felt his stomach rumbling, and despite how he was suddenly woken up, he had the energy to take the day on once he had his bath, putting on new, princely clothes that looked quite stunning if he said so himself. He had a resplendent cloak on the back of his practical yet princely vest.

Honestly, Morganna heard Meldyr's question and could not but let out a soft chuckle as she exited his chamber. She leaned her back against his chamber door for a moment while taking in that he was stirring about within. Morganna then waltzed over to her own chambers and proceeded to bathe herself and whenever she was ready to be dressed, her handmaidens, Lucia and Alissa, came right on in and helped her get ready for the breakfast that was being prepared.

"Meldyr's quite the catch, your majesty." Lucia spoke as Morganna smiled towards her. She did not have to respond to that because she knew that he was quite the catch and knew that he'd make a fine King. "Oh, Randolph. Send two guards to escort Meldyr to the great hall for the breakfast. Don't want anyone taking him out because they are jealous." Randolph nodded his head and did as was told while Lucia and Alissa tied the final tie to her midday dress.

She reviewed over herself in the mirror then raised a brow towards them. "You look magnificent, your majesty." Alissa complimented as Lucia nodded her head in agreement. Morganna smiled at the two and cuffed their faces with her hands. She then dismissed them with the wave of her hand as she called Randolph into the chamber now.

"I made the right choice, correct?" Morganna asked him as she turned to face him now, studying his movements to see if was going to tell the truth or not. "Well, your majesty..." She held her hand up and shook her head. "I know I made the right choice." She said as she walked up towards Randolph now. "Escort me towards the great hall. I am hungry."

Whenever she spoke those words, she and Randolph walked through the halls as people stopped and bowed towards Morganna. With one swift turn towards the great hall, she had seen that Meldyr was already in place and she smiled at the sight of him. "Hello there, Meldyr. How was your bath?" She asked while staring at him in his new attire. "Do those clothes make you feel Kingly?" Morganna smiled after that question as a kitchen boy poured her wine and a guard tasted it before she took a sip herself.

Morganna placed the goblet down on the table just as the breakfast, which was nothing more than bread, eggs, pork sausage and bacon. Before herself or Meldyr could take a bite, two guards brought in a commoner and threw him to the hard floor beneath them.

"What is the meaning of this?" She abruptly said as she stood. "This commoner was trying to steal your jewels, your majesty. What shall we do with him?" Morganna gasped as she sat back down and let that last question ring through her ears before looking towards Meldyr. "What do you think we shall do with him, my King?"

She asked Meldyr to see if was going to make the right choice or be completely wrong. After all, once he's comfortable in his King role, he'd have no choice but to make these type of decisions anyway.

Meldyr had to admit he felt very refreshed when he left the bath, and a more noble man than he did back at home, at least in a fashion. There was true nobility in fighting for the lives of your people and your fellow soldiers. However, he felt more aristocratic and...leader-like with this tabard and well fashioned, kingly robes on. He even had new armor to don when he required it.

"I do. Feel more Kingly, I mean." He said, somewhat bashfully. He had always eaten, slept, and drank as his soldiers did to share in their toils. Though he still felt that was the best way to do things, he couldn't help but feel a bit elated at the nice hearty meal, and what the new clothes represented. It also accentuated his broad shoulders.

Though he looked good, the Queen looked...amazing. About as good as the meal, which his stomach truly yearned for. However, when the commoner was thrown at his feet, he steeled himself, surprised he would need to sentence someone so early in his reign. He had done so before in his lands, but he had no real jewels to speak of. Only bandits or apple thieves. "A jewel thief?" he said aloud, letting a moment or two pass before he stood out of his chair and stepped over to the cowering man.

He never took a man's life lightly. However this was not someone stealing for survival, but greed. "I do not wish to kill a man a day after I am king. But we also must uphold the law..." he let out ominously. "Throw him in the dungeons. A few years in the cells will change his mind of thievery, I think. Do you agree, my Queen?"

When Meldyr stood up, she sat right back down with a small smile on her face as she watched him. He even started to walk like a King a little bit and that made her even happier. Morganna knew that she had made the right choice as she snapped back to reality whenever Meldyr asked her if she agreed with his decision.

"I do, my King." She responded while her eyes gazed upon Meldyr then went to the guards. Morganna stood up and walked over to stand beside Meldyr now with her hands clasped together in front of her. "You heard your King. Throw him to the dungeons." She said in a very stern tone. Once the jewel thief and the guards were clear of the room, she linked her arm with Meldyr's and smile.

Morganna guided them back over to the table so they could continue their meal. "You handled that well, my King." She informed him then took a sip from her goblet. She went to eat the breakfast before her now then dabbed the corners of her mouth now with her napkin as she cleared her throat before addressing Meldyr, King Meldyr.

"So, my King, is a tour around the Kingdom good for you? I think people should see their new King." She questioned with a slight brow raised. Morganna leaned closer towards him with interest because she really wanted to hear his response.

He hadn't enjoyed that. Before his ascension, he had technically been a noble. But in truth, he was one of the lower nobles. More like an upjumped knight who happened to have the responsibility of being in charge of around a hundred serfs and a few dozen men-in-arms. While he understood how to be a leader, he also lived right next to his subjects and knew their struggles. But this was someone who did a get-rich-quick attempt. He might not have enjoyed it, but the thief did deserve punishment.

He supposed he was getting used to it, and Meldyr squared his shoulders a bit. "Thank you, my Queen." He replied. He might still think being called king was odd, but he had no trouble calling her queen. She carried herself confidently and there was an enchanting quality about her that oozed royalty.

The breakfast was very fine, as he expected it to be. He had quite the appetite after the little food he had the day prior. Once he was done, he drank a generous amount of water and did what he thought was 'noble' and wiped his mouth with the cloth provided. He had to keep himself from using his sleeve. The thought made him smile inwardly.

He was broken out of his reverie by Morganna, and he nearly lose himself in her blue eyes. "That would be great," he breathed. He cleared his throat and sat up a bit straighter. "I've traveled a bit on the Kingdom before, but I trust you'll be a far finer guide than I could ask for, for the places I have yet to see." His eyes met hers and he smiled.
