I've had entirely too much time on my hands today, which is weird. But I've also been looking for a FT job until summer is over and I officially start at University.

Love my job, I've been busy helping a horse that fell at an event and her owner was worried we'd have to put her down but our Vet has looked her over and said she needed simple immobilization, as in a close stall to prevent her moving around a lot. Then Therapy and tender care form your's truly for perhaps two months maybe three and she'll be in good as new shape.

Her owner has been here every day, so much so that My boss gave her one of the guest rooms in her house but she's been spending all her time walking beside me or sitting with me in the monitoring room. She's fascinated with my job saying she never knew there was such a thing as an Equine convalescent specialist (a title the Vet made up just for me, most of the time my job is handled by an RVN). I have a knack for understanding the horses which is why I am doing what I do.

It escapes me that others can't just watch horses and learn their body language, I admit that they each have their own translation but they also have a lot in common.

My new companion is the CEO of her own company and has expressed a desire to learn everything I can teach her...I find it amusing because my job is as much heredity as it is time spent with horses.

@RumikoOhara Wow! So jel! I would love to work with horses, even though I've never actually seen one up close (born/raised city dweller here, lol). But unlike people, animals tend to not back talk you or judge you, so maybe I could see a future as a vet :)

@Dread

Vets actually have a tougher profession than Docs, the patients can't tell you were it hurts and they come in a larger variety but its great working with animals none the less. I was raised around horses from the earliest age on the Isle of Wight because strange as it may seem my Naval Family has land and horses there....my Gran loves horses and she wasn't raised in the navy.

I've told the others here about how I fell into my present job while in college as a summer job that soon became my life vocation, I was studying to be a teacher specializing in history. Strange how the old adage "No Plan Of Battle Survives Contact With The Enemy" my life plans didn't survive reality. Lucky for me I'm adaptable

Very few things make me queasy but the thought of kissing a grasshopper is just nasty and the need to carry a spit cup is well gross

Still @RumikoOhara, that's awesome! :) Or maybe I'm just excited because it sounds a lot more rewarding at the end of the day than the summer job I have at Starbucks, lol.

Anyway, I think my brain is still waking up, so ignore my whining :/
