The year is 2018 a.t.b. / Revolution Year 229-230 December...Emperor Richard Von Britannia has passed on...leaving Princess Harmonia La Britannia on the royal throne among large descent from the nobles...She was originally twentieth in line to the throne at the time of her ascent. Emperor Richard in his high throne in the Imperial Capital Pendragon chose to pass it along much down the line after Crown Prince Kyle Don Britannia was caught in affair with a eleven (Japanese) woman. Scandals have broken out through the Empire as the seventeen year old empress takes her seat on the throne. Many still view Prince Kyle as the rightful ruler though him himself gave her his blessing. Backing her is the old loyalist faction of Richards. A sturdy group of strong noblemen from Britannian's heartland. Prince Kyle's beloved younger sister likewise has his support as well which brought in the Progressive faction seeking to advance Britannia into a new era.

However...among the crowning ceremonies, and preparations there are whispers going among the military personnel, and nobility. Planned coups, leaks, and unrest in the citizenry. Though unions hold little power in Britannia due to Imperial rule being absolute the citizens still back, and make many of Britannia's raw materials. It is the people who man the armies the Emperor sent to take Japan. And they are the same ones distrusting further abuse by their new empress as kind as she is she is inexperienced. Though due to a ceasefire The European Alliance has ceased hostilities with Britannian Occupational forces in Spain, and France. Britain, Scotland, and Ireland remain under occupation under General Bradley Hanon. These citizens are gathering in large numbers more frequently. Riots are forming and while the knights of the round have managed to forcibly quell things from going out of hand. It its these citizens who now are making for a push to lessen the noblity's strangle hold led by Henry Long. A manufacturer of steel in northern Britannia though he is not a noble he is wealthy enough. Coming up from a horror story in the slums of the worst areas of Britannia Long is a living legend even to those who do not support him. He rose, and became a king pin in economics even at one point attending to a crisis in the name of the late King Richard.

Among the nobles things don't seem to be fairing better many nobles view the new empress as incompetent, and a liability. Supported by even some of the Knights of the Round these nobles are secretly arming themselves. Preparing for a possible rallying call...war is coming it is inevitable be it in the capital, or across the whole company many nobles are plotting to take a hold of power in this new vacuum. It is on the west coast that this sentiment is the strongest. Many of the Britannians there dislike that they now have to trust in a new child queen put into power by the will of the late Emperor due to scandal, and in fighting between his oldest children. Knightmare brigades are secretly being made fueled by veterans of the Japanese campaign, and even some from the nobles who fought in Europe.

Things are becoming clear...civil war is being ushered in...whispers...hate...and anger fuel the fires. When things come out what will survive? A whole Britannia...or a lesser one?

Hello everyone this is going to be an alternative universe roleplay revolving around the Code Geass Universe. Lelouch, and crew won't be around for this roleplay. This will be purely done with player made characters using canon, or semi-canon Knightmare frames. You may feel free to request custom units if you're a knightmare pilot (please note game frames are allowed, and Knight of the Rounds are obviously likely to have special frames), but I may restrict some depending on what are asked for. We will be playing the Noble Faction seeking to overthrow Queen Harmonia La Britannia off her throne. If the above is worded poorly, or you don't understand basically a young princess has ascended the throne after her father's death due to the influence of the crown prince. The fear was that he'd introduce outside influences to change the Britannian structure. That is why The 'Progressive' Faction is the main opposition. This is not to model real life politics American or otherwise. It is just the name of the main opposition to the throne as they want to aggressively pursue changes in Britannian political structures be it inner, or outer.

The Prince marked with scandal chose to put his sister on the throne for reasons only he would know. His immediate younger siblings are all embroiled with in fighting over the matter further wreaking havoc their unity. You may play a noble, a soldier (likely an elite if you want a major part in the story, or at least a talented soldier), or a knight of the round/noble's knight.

Other options may come as you request. However I request you keep in mind making yourself lower on the chain of command makes it hard for you to interact with nobles. The overview of the roleplay will be a three way war between the three factions for control of Britannia. The Royal Britannians led by the new queen, The Noble Rebels led by my character's grand father, and The Syndicalist Workers Union. The citizens will rise up shortly into the rp due to a harshly put down riot. A syndicalist uprising seeking to 'break their chains'. The current knightmare generation goes up to seven meaning many of the canon suits will be available but not the Gurren Stein, or Lancelot Albion style knightmares.

The Britannians currently control territory roughly equivalent to R2 France, and Poland are the frontlines in the Euro wars. Spain is currently under control half, and half due to the ceasefire. The Chinese Federation will be involved later but not initially it depends on where the rp goes. The main focus of this rp is THE CIVIL WAR.

The nobles DO NOT HAVE TO BE BIGOTS, OR RACIST. The main intention of the rebellion will be to overthrow the monarchy in order for the nobles to take direct control. Some of them will be, others are just well intentioned patriots who don't want to see Britannia crumble under a monarchy, or fall to Syndicalism (think a more anarchist communism if you don't know what that's like)

If you have any ideas, or questions you want to discuss you may feel free to ask.

I haven't seen Code Geass, but I've read up a bit on the setting. Was actually just considering watching it. Itching for some mecha action anyway, if it's cool that I learn by progressing in episodes and IC.

Hmmm...might there be a place for a late-blooming Confederate States of America in this scenario?

@The WhackoThe United States died in the revolutionary period. Ben Franklin betrayed the states leading to it never succeeding. It never was a thing to begin with in Code Geass, and its the same in this universe. That's why modern America/Canada is the homeland for Britannia so that would be a no. Even if it was a thing this roleplay is specifically made to cater to the nobles of Britannia in a whole specific faction.

I recall that part, but I had an idea regarding this actually, if you're willing to indulge. Even if the revolution failed, surely there was still quite a bit of resentment toward the Britannians afterward, and that would only get worse when they moved their capital to the Americas. Small rebellions probably occurred and failed over the centuries, never having the leadership or the opportunity to make any real progress. Now thing with this brewing civil war, it might just be time for the folk in the South and parts of Central America to seize their chance. A second American Revolution, if you will, possibly with Japanese or European backing.

...is my idea at least. :P

@The Whacko It is unlikely for that to occur in large because of the specific parts I intend to place into the rp. The Northern section of North America through Detroit will fall to Syndicalist uprising shortly after the nobles, our faction, declare open rebellion against a newly crowned queen. With the east coast following the queen the south would find it hard to fully uprise without turning to the syndies, and even then the knight of one will be looming over their head because Pendragon will be near modern day Washington dc. More over the nobles have no intention of actually letting that land go. We'll need to stab them in the head once Pendragon, and or Ontario falls.

Further more the major powers of South America are going to be Noble faction with a mix of loyalists. Syndies don't have much pull down there due to Long's men having less of a hold down there. The uprising syndies are essentially civilian Britannians who are sick of the nobles, and kings treating them like pawns having to deal with being used as canon fodder for the upper class. They are essentially what you would be wanting I assume.

The Japanese have already been conquered with its viceroy secretly backing us, and the loyalists still have a significant portion of the Euro occupational forces backing them if the ceasefire is broken they have a chance at breaking them but it will also mean massive casualties on the E.U's side who just brokered the agreement. The Chinese Federation are the only ones in any significant position to push for a power play from this, and if they do The Nobles will have to call a truce to deal with them, as even Prince Kyle, and the noble leaders are not foolish enough to let the Chinese take key territory away from them. China will play a part when they need to but in order to not overburden the rp with too many fronts too early they will come in later.

The faction boundaries will be split East, West, and North with the middle state areas functioning as a battleground. The Syndies have manpower, and Knightmare frame construction facilities for them, The nobles have technological advancements, and better knightmares, and the loyalists in the west have elite pilots to make up for their lack of manpower.

This seems interesting, but would the only writable faction be the nobles, or would it be possible to be a knight of the round for say the royal faction?

@Milimas highlighted in the op the nobles are the only faction allowed splitting the probable small player group is a bad idea and I don't like PvP
