There are days that I spend engaged in nothing but reading, not even anything noteworthy at that. Namely old manuals or materials for topics of the past, at times those related to roleplaying topics. It feels a bit akin to actual historical research, pouring over things that haven't been read for decades at least, where their actual relevance is dormant and lost but it leads to great gems. As of late, I have come across a trove of supplements for various games that had disappeared into obscurity. Namely I pour over them for material relevant to my own interests, in the odd hope that perhaps one day knowledge of them might benefit me in some way. I do this as well with actual personal research but there are indeed times I read fictional material at length to build my collection.

When last I had visited Rancho La Brea, I observed that the structure of the George C. Page Museum is built similarly to some temples or tombs, specifically a ziggurat, a form of stepped pyramid. It was believed that these structures connected heaven and earth, which in many regards is not beyond my suspicion the structure itself might be equally symbolic. Subtle cues in favor of this understanding is, is that it is a cite to commemorate and remember those things extinct and dead, that it is a barrow similarly for the interred and honored dead, is depicted with murals as part of its stone exterior, has a center open to the sky, and that it obviously bears a pyramid shape with horizontal steps of structure up effectively three terraces. Perhaps unconsciously the designers of the museum built it in this manner or perhaps not. As for myself? I prefer to interpret it that way.

It matters not how many times I finely tune a project, I can never help myself from discovering some new conceptual flaw with it and wishing to tune it further. This exercise, while part of the pursuit of perfection, is obviously needlessly tiresome and in many ways a frivolous activity. In all but a rare few cases the products of my crafts, whatever it specifically was in that sample although almost always some sort of writing technical or otherwise, have not been the subject of disappointment to those I produce them for yet for myself they never feel all that complete. Chasing that elusive quarry of perfection is a deadly, impossible game, but I cannot help myself, even when it bites back at me in my own personal and or works.

I watch several TV shows, but my favorites are "Game of Thrones" and "The Walking Dead" (Universe). Both of these shows rank high for their character development.

And I lost interest in the walking dead after mid season 2.

In the entirety of my life, I have never watched a single series from start to finish. This I believe relates to my issue bonding with and investing in varied media. As a consequence of this trope I display, the vast majority of references to popular culture are lost on me. I might know what they are but their importance and relevance is fairly alien. Stranger yet, I long for the eventual reality I might come to know and enjoy one, even if I haven't a strong reason beyond "I wish to enjoy content that is particular to me."

You could try going to your local library and seeing if they have the books. If that doesn't work out for you, you could go to a video store/stand (like Redbox) and rent the seasons there. Sometimes libraries even have DvDs to rent, too.

Just some options if you ever wish to check it out in the future.
