Personal Information:

Name: Torran Doal, but will accept most monikers.
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Race: Boaz

Appearance:
A massive humanoid with impressive musculature, it's easy to see why he took a role like Supporter. His skin is very pale due to a lack of sunlight and is pocketed by a myriad of burn scars. He somehow manages to have an unintimidating face despite his body, and can almost be described as slack-jawed. His movements lack any real grace or practice behind them and saying that he lumbers around isn't too far off. He'd probably be slightly taller if his posture was better, as he usually ducks to avoid hitting doorframes and to appear less intimidating.

Torran typically dresses in garish colors that his childish mind finds fashionable, and he prefers to be as covered as possible - he enjoys the pressure that comes with a tight collar or heavy clothes. He desperately wants to wear heavy plate armor like his father makes, since it would make him look super cool.

Height: 6'8
Weight: 240 lbs
Eye color: Dark Brown
Hair color: Light Brown

Personality:
Despite his large and overbearing physical appearance, Torran is extremely docile and submissive to most people he meets. Even the thought of attacking a person sends shivers down his spine, and he doesn't enjoy attacking the monsters in the dungeon. The only reason he even became an adventurer in the first place was so that he could protect people who go into the dungeon since he heard that many people die there. He only recently moved out of his parent's house to join a Familia, and it is clear that he has no idea how to take care of himself.

Torran barely manages to survive on his own - he's more like an extremely large child than an actual adventurer and is dependant on his Familia for most things that require literacy or advanced arithmetic. He is childish, and even more so, completely directionless in life. Going to the dungeon is one of the few things that makes his days differentiate from one another, and give variety to his otherwise dreary lifestyle. This isn't even mentioning that he is scared of a large variety of things, including (but not limited to); Spiders, the dark, drunk people, and extreme heights.

Despite these faults, Torran is accepting of nearly any person and is almost always the least aggressive in the room. He is quick to forgive, even quicker to forget, and believes peoples words without a second thought. He is very easygoing and doesn't get angry easily, so he is very popular with children and merchants. The worst part about him is that he lacks any sense of personal space, and will almost always go for a hug as soon as possible.

Likes: Compliments, Protecting people, Easy things, Kindness, Talking to people
Dislikes: Hurting people, Moving fast, Feeling useless, Reading, Mean people, Alcohol
Hobbies: Weightlifting, Digging, Eating, Sleeping, Counting inventory, Playing, Knitting

Background:
Torran was born and raised in Orario, although he spent most of his time in his parent's house. He was homeschooled, and while he was never forced to stay, he never felt the need to leave and make friends with the children outside. Instead, he spent most of his time with his mother and father, playing with them and doing his best to help around the house. His days mostly consisted of moving heavy materials and equipment for his father, who was a smith, and helping his mother knit clothes for her shop. Torran was much better at the former, mostly because of his freakishly large hands and huge stature, which meant most of his time was spent moving things for his father. An accidental burn at the forge quickly stifled any attempt Torran's father made at teaching his son smithing, but Torran was perfectly fine sticking with simply moving things.

In Torran's eyes, life was absolutely perfect. Well, other than the fact that he had no drive or goal in life, and every day was exactly the same as the one before. Torran lied to himself about the monotony, telling himself that it didn't matter as long as he had a full stomach and a warm bed. But even someone as dull as him knew that life couldn't continue as it was, that he needed an opportunity to make life go by slower, and let him savor each day as it happened rather than let it pass by. This opportunity came in the form of an adventurer.

It was very rare that Torran's father was visited directly from a customer - usually, his father sold his wares to a shop or Familia, which in turn sold to adventurers. Apparently, the armor that the adventurer had bought was slightly too small, and while the shop didn't offer adjustments, they gave him the address of Torran's father. After exchanging a few Valis and getting to work, Torran had nearly an hour to simply sit and chat with a new person - and not just that, but they were an adventurer! Torran had never really known much about the dungeon, despite it being one of the main attracting points of his home city. As soon as Torran heard that people went in there for treasure and power, and some people never managed to make it out, he knew exactly what he needed to do.

Later that night, Torran fled his parent's house with his life savings and some of his fathers worst equipment. Being an adventurer was exactly what he needed to break the monotony of his life, and he even got paid for it! Torran never for a second thought that he might die, instead focused entirely on joining a Familia and giving himself a cool codename.

Name: Dahlia Pendragon
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Race: Human

Appearance:

With an average figure, Dahlia has retained a surprising amount of muscle underneath a layer of fat. In fact, in a library filled with nerds, Dahlia would probably be the strongest one there (which isn't saying much). A long-term diet of lifting up massive bundles of books and an unhealthy cycle of fasting and binging had left Dahlia with an unexpectedly healthy body. Her skin is pale from not going outside for months at a time. Despite her horrible habits, she is surprisingly well groomed. After all, she has to be well groomed in order to protect those ancient books from mold and mildew.

When she leaves the library, she wears thick clothes that covers almost all of her skin. Even in the dead heat of summer, she'll refuse to let any dust touch her skin. Even though she's a fledgling adventurer, her clothes are considerably more expensive than her contemporaries. After all, being a librarian and protecting years worth of knowledge tended to pay more than killing goblins.

Height: 5'8"
Weight: 160 pounds.
Eye color: Dark grey
Hair color: Black

Personality:
Dahlia is a bit of an eccentric. On the outside, she appears to be a bit of a klutz that can barely trudge through social interactions. It'd be more accurate to say that she has a different rhythm compared to most people. Her sense of timing is, compared to the average person, highly precise yet entirely inaccurate. When she talks about her interests, she can rattle off dozens of interesting tidbits and facts, but she struggles to talk about topics that she holds zero interest in. Her primary obsession that drives her to dive into the dungeon is her encyclopedia; all she wants is to catalog every single monster inside the labyrinth. In essence, Dahlia is a theory first, practice second woman. With her immense theoretical knowledge on many things, she tends to absolutely moff up everything in practice.

Likes: Trying new things, writing, realistic drawings, verifiable conclusions that can be repeated, books, good organization, and cleanliness.
Dislikes: Mold, mildew, illiterate people, artistic licenses, ambiguity, the sun, things that are truly random, and poorly kept records.
Hobbies: Recordkeeping and collecting books.

Background:
Born in Orario, Dahlia wasn't an adventurer until she was solidly an adult. In fact, since she was a child, she helped take care of the vast amounts of literature held within Orario. A scholarly sort of girl, she spent her life around books rather than people. These books shaped Dahlia; she spent all of her youth learning what was contained in those books that she cared for. Manuals on combat? Read. Monsters? Burnt into her head. Romance novellas? Seared deep within the confines of her mind, but there for sure.

But a deep lack of knowledge filled her with disdain. The books that she loved so much weren't infallible. Terrible blights such as poor record keeping, incorrect information, and inaccurate photos plagued these books. Spurred by this lack of perfected knowledge, Dahlia had decided to enter the dungeon using what wages she had collected from her time as a scholar. She would create her encyclopedia, chronicling every monster and floor that one could encounter.

And really, that's all there was to Dahlia's motives. She was just a girl with a dream to make a book.

Name: Athena
Age: Ageless
Gender: Female
Race: God

Appearance:

Athena has long, bright blonde hair, sharp blue eyes and fair, unblemished skin. She stands at just above average height and has a slender yet fit body. Her chest is of average size. She dresses in a very elaborate and stylish outfit, with a lot of attention to details but without being needlessly gaudy.

She wears a pair of thighhigh boots, which are also embellished and adorned, as well as sometimes wearing a somewhat odd, crown-like headpiece. She typically has a somewhat serious or stern expression on her face and her posture is always straight and dignified... Unless she becomes flustered, at which point she will blush profusely and become fidgety and about as graceful as a embarrassed child.

Height: 5'6" / 167 cm
Weight: 132 lb / 60 kg
Eye color: Blue
Hair color: Bright blonde

Personality:
The Goddess of War and Wisdom is a complex woman. She is serious, a hard worker, disciplined and dignified. She is calm and level-headed, with immense patience and a very open and accepting mind. But on the other hand, she can be very strict, prone to high standards, stubborn and has a penchant for lecturing others, often to their great dismay and at considerable length. She is very protective of her Familia and has a very motherly attitude towards its members, worrying about them constantly and sometimes being overbearing or doting.

That being said, when someone in the Familia does soemthing she doesn't approve of, Athena is not adverse to punishing them. This usually manifesting itself in the manner of her spanking the offender, infront of the rest of the Familia, while mercilessly berating them and explaining why they are being disciplined. According to the other Familia members, Athena's spanking skills are far more terrifying than any injury a monster can inflict.

However, despite her serious and often rather rigid manners, Athena has softer and, some would say, more humorous sides to her as well. When it comes to the topic of carnal desires, the Goddess will become incredibly bashful and uncomfortable. If asked why she has no boyfriend, she will become incredibly defensive and upset, followed by depression. Perhaps most interesting though, is how she will squeal and become as excited as a small girl whenever she sees anything with a unicorn... She is also not a very physical person and will get very red if suddenly embraced or engaged in more intimate physical contact.

Despite being a Goddess of War, Athena is neither a violent or explosive woman. Instead, she values the self-restraint and responsability that comes with knowing how to fight. She prefers to solve conflicts through negotiations and compromise, and will only resort to force if there is no other option, or if she is forced to do so. That being said, the Goddess has no tolerance or forgiveness for those wou would hurt her Familia and she is known to be very cautious and careful around the other Gods and Goddesses.

She is also an inredible lightweight when it comes to alochol and will get drunk, and rowdy, whenever she gets to drinking - much to the chagrin and embarrassment of her Familia. Normally very produd, confident and inspiring, when Athena's advice is not beneficial, her knowledge lacking, her horrible cooking is pointed out or any other thing that may indicate her to be soemhow flawed, the Goddess gets very depressed and will opt to sit hunched in a corner, hugging her legs while mumbling in a deadpan, dismayed voice to herself. Also, for whatever reason, children seem to be afraid of her, which is another point of dismay for her.

Likes: Discipline, Hard Work, Practice, Patience, Honesty, Knowledge, Bravery, Wine, Unicorns, Her Familia, Fine Arts
Dislikes: Liars, Cowardly Tactics, Spineless People, Those who make up excuses, Sloppy Work, Cruelty, War Mongering, Overly emotional people, Rashness, Her help not being useful to others
Hobbies: Tutoring, Painting, Philosophic Discussions, Instructing, Reading, Chess

Background:
Like the other Gods and Goddesses, Athena descended nt to Earth several centuries ago. However, her early years were spent contending with her long-time rival and enemy, Ares. At this time, they were both far away from Orario and did not know much about it. At this point, Athena had established a small, but capable Familia who governed a fortified village and lived there relatively well.

That is until Ares showed up and started harassing them. Eventually, the other God managed to oust Athena, simply due to his overwhelming number of followers who lusted for conflict and destruction, as opposed to her own warriors who favored control and aimed to protect. She was thus on the run, ushered by her followers to escape and regroup somewhere else. For a long, long time she spent all her days walking and hiding... Until she eventually had lost most of her Children and was near the point of giving up, due to the guilt and sadness she felt at the loss of her loyal soldiers who gave their life one after the other to keep her safe.

But that changed once they came to Orario. Ares, for whatever reason, stopped pursuing her and returned to his antics across the outside world. Relieved to be free of her hunter, Athena took the surviving members of her followers and founded their Familia. At first it was a small, humblle group with few members, but over the years it grew and its peak, the Familia had just above two dozen members. They were all of varied skill and strength, but it was a happy and pleasant time, one that helped heal the Goddess weariness and sorrow from her past.

Fate, however, decided it was not done with Athena yet, and about six years ago, it brought tragedy upon her yet again. While most of her Familia were on an adventure in the Middle Floors of the dungeon, an unexpected Monster Parade took place, catching the members off-guard. It was a disaster, and only a handful of the Familia managed to make it out. Her Familia had, in an instant, dwindled to less than a quarter of its original size. The Goddess took this very hard and suffered from low spirits and more guilt for a very long time.

Only in recent days has she recovered to her former self, now accepting new members into the Familia. Unfortunately, the small size and relatively poor strength of the Familia, as well as the rumor about it being all but wiped out, has led to nearly no new Children wanting to apply... Athena's recrutiment method and high standards doesn't help either...

Wallet: Athena has access to, as well as handles, all the Familia's funds.

Name: Grentiloch Tyln
Alias: Beastslayer, Grent, Gramps
Age: 63
Gender: Male
Race: Chienthrope

Appearance:
Grent is a large, broad-shouldered, muscular man of tall stature. Even thoughn in his older years he's managed to develop a bit of a gut, the rest of his body is still very strong and mostly square-like. His arms are thick ad hard, as are his legs. His back is absolutely massive and his pecks are jokingly claimed to be used for grinding down stones. To put it simply, he's a big, lumbering beast of a man with an exceptional physique for his age.

Grent's eyes are a dark brown and his hair is a mix of white and grety. His face is almost always serious, but it's sometimes difficult to tell, what with his bushy moustache covering almost his entire mouth at all times. A pair of drooping dog-like ears sit on each side of his head, having alight brown fur to them. However, the fact that he wears an eyepatch over his right eye may be the most distinguishing feature of this old codger.

His voice is deep and rumbling, with a very low, base-like sound to it. He's absolutely horrible at singing and if he does so, it usually sounds like somebody is trying to gargle a bunch of rocks. Grent typically dresses in his adventuring gear, claiming he's so used to wearing it, he doesn't see a need to buy regular, everyday clothes. His armor is a suit of chainmail, padded and coated over with thick, tanned leather and the occasional bit of plate inserted into key locations. He wears a pair of heavy metal gauntlets and a pair of equally heavy-looking plated boots, that make a distinct noise when he walks. He also wears a decorated and embellished red cloak over his shoulders, that reaches down to his lower thighs.

The man carries himself well though, still standing straight and proud, with a determined aura about him. His posture doesn't slouch or hang, like that of many elderly people, although he does complain about his joints hurting from time to time. Also, if someone were to ever Grent when he takes a bath, or is otherwise unclothed, they would notice at once how almost every inch of his body is covered in either scars or some form of marks from fights. His back is particularly full of these mementos.

Height: 6'1" / 185 cm
Weight: 220 lb / 100 kg
Eye color: Brown
Hair color: White and grey

Personality:
Grent is what you would expect of an old man - grumpy, stoic, brooding and a bit of a loner. He doesn't like to speak at length and often chooses his words carefully, so as only needing to say the absolute minimum. It's not that he doesn't like interacting with people however, but rather a caase of him being tired and simply wanting to be left in peace and quiet to relax. This of course, is not often the case as he's the current Captain of the Athena Familia, a position he often tries to convince Lady Athena to give to someone else.

His stern and often intimidating expression makes him hard to approach, but those who have braved his glare have found that the old man can be very helpful, if reluctantly so. He's always willing to help people improve, be it their fighting-technique or their approach to the dungeon. He's remarkably sharp and able to pick up on peoples' feelings and the mood in a room. If he wasn't such a stick-in-the-mud, Grent might actually be a natural ladies-man, since he's often respectful, tactful and polite, not to mention observative and a good listener.

That being said, when awoken from a nap, he can be very grunpy and irritable. He desn't like people talking to him while he eats either, and bad table-manners will get you chewed out by the old fart. He'll get furious if you touch his tea leaves without permission and he's very clear on people not being allowed to touch his ears freely. He seems fine with people touching his short tail though.

While he has a lot of good points though, Grent can be a bit condescending and close-minded. He views most anyone younger than him as a 'child' and because of this, he holds no expectations of them. If someone fails at something, that's to be expected, as they're just a kid still. He also has a hard time accepting new ways of doing things and isn't a huge fan of change overall. Still, he's got wisdom and common sense, and he hentuinely cares about people that do form a meaningful bond with him.

He's like a bitter old grandfather who acts tough and cynical, but cares about you very deep down.

Likes: Peace and quiet, Tea with honey, Sleeping, Watching youngsters grow, Wooden carvings, Night-time strolls, Salty meat, Strong ale
Dislikes: Noisy places, Loud people, Disloyalty, Tomatoes, Unpleasant scents, Milk, Being woken when sleeping, People playing with his ears, Braggarts
Hobbies: Tea sampling, Equipment maintenance, Talking about 'the Good Old Days', Night-time strolls, Eating and drinking

Background:
Grent is one of the only three surviving members of the original Athena Familia. Him, the previous Familia's Captain and one more - now retired - member, were the only ones who managed to get out of the dungeon six years ago. What actually happened down there is still unclear, and Grent is loathe to talk about it in any capacity, becoming tight-lipped and moody whenever the topic is brought. If pushed for more, he'll often just get up and walk off, grumbling in annoyance.

As for his own story though, Grent was born the son of a baker right here in Orario. He lived his entire life in the city, seeing adventurers and citizens every day. As a youth, he helped in his father's work and took care of his sickly mother. However, after she died and her father became a drunken wreck who mismanaged and neglected his work, Grent left to pursue a new life.

He was a large young man, having been forced to haul around sacks of flour and grains. So, he naturally took to the path of adventuring - it seemed an easy and quick way to make a living. But oh, how wrong the baker's boy was. His early career was nothing short of being a pincushion for any monsters he met. With no actual previous knowledge or experience in fighting, the Chienthrope soon learned the hard way that fighting and killing critters to make a living was way more dangerous, painful ad frightening than he could ever have imagined.

Still, he perservered and, over a long, long time, managed to develop his combat prowess and become a capable warrior in his own right. At this point in time, he was part of a different Familia, but a certain event involving someone he had thought of as a friend, who framed him for something he had not done, left him with no choice but to leave that particular group. He attempted to enroll with other Familia, but nobody would take him in, as they had all heard the rumors of his supposed 'crime'.

However, once Athena arrived in Orario, she was quick to notice the man, offering him to join her budding, new fledgeling Familia. With no other real options, Grent agreed and became one of the first members, and also the one who would live and survive the longest. He enjoyed his time with this new Familia thoug, making many good friends and coming to loosen up a bit. Of course, the tragedy that happened later and the suffering it brought to his Goddess also had a major impact on Grent himself.

Still, he remembers fondly the good times he had with his friends in the past, and it still brings a slight smile to the old man, even to this day.

Wallet: Grent donates all his earned money to the Familia.

Personal Information:

Name: Tiramis Welren
Alias: Tiny Cauldron, Tira, Wacky-Wel
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Race: Pallum

Appearance:
Tiramis looks like your typical pallum; short, young and could easily be mistaken for a child. That being said, if not for her typicall dull and slightly oversized attire, one could tell that she definetely has some female curvature - albeit nothing all too impressive. She dresses mostly in an outfit that is easy to move and work in, with a varied colors - and possessing the same outfit, but in different colors and patterns. The only consistant part of her daily outfit is the claok she wears, which is similar to Grent's, except a different color.

She has pale-ish, but still healthy, skin and her eyes aare sharp and green like the leaves of a tree. Her hair is a reddish, chestnut-color and kept short, sinced long hair only hets in the way of her work. She has a strange habbit of wearing one knee-sock and one thighhigh stocking, mismatcing her appearance on purpose, for whatever reason. Tira also seems to almost always have, at least, a slight smile on her face, and her voice is chipper and full of life and enthusiasm.

Height: 3'10" / 115 cm
Weight: 77 lb / 35 kg
Eye color: Green
Hair color: Chestnut

Personality:
Tiramis is a jolly, friendly and fun-loving young woman. She has a warm and sunny disposition and is always seen with a smile, bigger or smaller, on her lips. She is friendly and warm to strangers and even more so towards those she knows and cares about. She is not big on physical contact though, and absolutely hates being picked up, called cute or patted on the head. Should this occur, she will throw a hilarious tantrum where arms are flailed and protests are spewed out in rapid succession, includi9ng insults and slander aimed at the offender.

She loves alchemy and spends almost all her free time devoted to it, be it brewing something, reading something related to it, or buying ingrediants for. Alchemy has pretty much consumed her life... Unfortunately, Tiramis is excitable about her projects, and often request the help of her Familia when it comes to testing out new blends... Forcefully if so need be. If something goes wrong, she'll knock herself on the head, poke her tongue out and go; Whoopsies~ before quickly retreating back to her workspace to figure out what went wrong. No cares were given about the guinea pig though.

One should also be aware that Tira has no tact, or rather, she has no concern for others ego. She's brutally honest and will blatantly point out mistakes, failures, shortcomings or other negative things to people, without so much as batting an eye. This isn't out of malice or the desire to see people angered - Tira simply gentuinely believes that people can only improve if they're told what they did wrong. If someone errs, they may think: Maybe it wasn't me? And to prevent this, Tira is usually the first person to call you out on anything you'd rather not be called out on. She's trying to help, really!

As for her own ego, she is largely unasailable. Laughing off most criticism or pointers towards anything bad she did, she takes it all in strides. She doesn't ignore mind you, she just doesn't let it get her down or make her upset. What does make her upset however, are people who sell alchemic items without having tested them first. She also does not care for people comparing magic and alchemy, as they're two distinctly different fields. Other than this though, not much can get under her skin.

However, she is quite disorganized and scatterbrained, prone focusing all her attention on something and forgetting the world around her. For this reason, her room is a mess of clutter, and her workspace isnt much better. Books, sketches, notes, vials, tools, all of it lay disorganized and in a mess. She's the typical person who takes things from shelves, but doesn't put it back where it belongs after...

Likes: Her workspace, Alchemy, Reading, Experimenting, Fresh bread, Garlic, Dogs, Spices
Dislikes: Irresponsible alchemists, Untested wares, Head pats, Being lifted, Being sat on, Being used as a stuffed animal
Hobbies: Alchemy

Background:
Tiramis was born to a family of alchemists in Orario, who belonged to a different Familia. At a very yong age, she was introduced to the wonders and excitement that came with working the craft - watching how mixing two things made a completely different thing, or how adding something to something else could make it more or less of what it already was. To the young pallum, alchemy was the most interesting and fun thing in the world, a thing with endless possibilities and potential! So eager was she that her parents actually had to forbid her from going into their workshop on her own, ashe would frequently sneak in there at night and do experiments on her own... Which usually ended in something blowing up, hazardous gas being released or Tira just wasiting expensive materials...

As she grew older and became more capable, she was allowed to help with the family's business. They ran a small apothecary shop for the Familia her parents belonged to. Customers would come in and buy simple remedies, potions and other basic needs. It was fun and fine, for a while, but after a bit of time Tira started getting bored of only preparing these mundane, repetetive things. She knew alchemy had so much more to offer and could accomplish such great things, so it was a waste to just keep making the same old things over and over, even if they did work! Naturally, this kind of thinking brought her into conflict with her rather conservative parents, who believed that what they did and what they knew was enough to make a living - untested alchemy was dangerous and could do more harm than good, after all.

The bickering and arguing continued for over a year, until finally Tira had had enough and made an ultimatum; Either she was allowed to try and make a new medicine that surpassed her parents' work, or she would leave. A few minutes later, and she was standing outside the front door of the shop, blinking in slgiht confusion at just how fast her progenators had been able to pack her bags and toss her out.

Still, this was nothing to be discouraged by! Sure, she had nowhere to go and nobody to turn to, but on the other hand, things could only get beeter and now she was free to look for something and somewhere she would be appreciated! It took a while though... Most Familia turned away the energetic pallum after she started rambling on about the possible innumerable uses of alchemy, finding her a bit too... Passionate. That changed when she finally knocked on the door of the Athena Familia, however. The Goddess there was amused by the child's enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge and results - and though her other Children were a bit apprehensive, Athena approved the girl quickly. Though she did have to go through the initiation trial like everyone else... And she only just passed...

Wallet:
- Tiramis spends all her money on alchemy supplies and equipment. As such, she is almost always broke.

Parameters & Skills:

Personal Information:

Name: Brozar Fjordstone
Alias: Thunderclap, Beard-face, Pervy Dwarf, Uncle Greed
Age: 40
Gender: Male
Race: Dwarf

Appearance:
Brozar sports the typical, unimaginative appearance of a male dwarf. His face is bearded, his shoulders are wide, his body is stocky and his voice is gruff. He has a bit more color to his skin than most dwarves though, likely due to the outdoor-forge at Warrior's Rest. When not in the Dungeon, he dresses rather plainly and unremarkably; Wearing a sleeveless brown vest, reddish pants and his fur-lined boots.

When working the forge, Brozar dons a tan work-shirt, black thick pants and a brown apron. He also pulls down the goggles on his over his eyes. Speaking of which, he wears a pair of plain-looking, but nontheless enchanted, goggles atop his head at seemingly all times - even when he's asleep. Though some might joke and call him fat, Brozar is actually extremely fit and muscular, it's just that his short stature makes him very compact and broad-looking.

Height: 5' / 151 cm
Weight: 176 lb / 80 kg
Eye color: Brown
Hair color: Wheat

Personality:
Brozar is a good-natured, open-minded and life-loving individual. He enjoys having fun and being in merry company, as well as talking to and making new acquaintances. He's big on feasts and drink, and loves listening to peoples' tales or songs - if they're good at it. There's nothing that kills the mood as quickly as som tone-deaf drunk tying to pass themselves of as a muse or bard... While he enjoys most food and drink, he doesn't like the taste of most green vegetables, though he is fine with other colored fruits and greens, he claims that they have a strange taste.

The dwarf also loves smithing and forging, spending a great deal of his time on it. He is however completely disconcerned with ideas such as being the best or most recognized smith, rather, he smiths and makes things because he finds it enjoyable. He has no interest in other peoples' work other than to appreciate, or scorn, it for what it is. this non-competetive streak extends to all manner of things in Brozar's life though, and as such he's an extremely gracious loser and a very generous and affable winner. Life isn't about winning or losing, it's about enjoying whatever it is you do - so the dwarf says at least.

He does however have his flaws like anyone though. For one, he is a terrible morning-person and will be rude, in a foul mood and unattentive for the first hour or so after he wakes up. Secondly, even if it's his own Familia, Brozar does nothing for free - other then very small things like sharpening a blade or patching a hole in some armor, if you want his steel, you pay the man's fee. He's also somewhat lecherous, often attempting to squeeze a feel on any pretty lady's tush, if the opportunity presents itself - even if said action gets him a face-full-of-fist.

Finally, while Brozar enjoys smithing,h is real passion is actually making jewellery and accessories. He absolutely loves working with precious metals and gems, and can be almost unreachable when he goes into a focused state of mind where all his attention is devoted to gem-cutting, fitting and pattern-weaving. The dwarf sells most of what he makes at the Free Market, making him one of the wealthier members of the Athena Familia.

Likes: Precious metals, Gems, Good singers, Good music, Hospitality, Womens butts,Smell of burning wood
Dislikes: Shoddy workmanship, Wasting materials, Rude people, Arrogance, Green vegetabes, Sweets, Mens butts
Hobbies: Making accessories, Gem-cutting, Visiting taverns, Discussing metalwork, Belching contests

Background:
Brozar was born to a clan that lived outside of Orario in some mountains. He spent his early life helping his family with various chores and minor tasks, until he was old enough to start being an apprentice at his father's forge. As expected of a son to a blacksmith, the boy had fire and iron in his veins and showed a natural profiency for the craft. However, making shovels and pickaxes day in and day out wasn't exactly fun or exciting, just monotone and dull.

That changed however, when a band of travllers from the great city in the distance came passing through. They all had such finely crafted items with them that Brozar couldn't help but pester them about their weapons, armor and especially their finely crafted accessories. The travellers didn't mind so much though, and told the young dwarf all about the city of Orario, about the Familia and the Dungeon there. Eyes sparkling with child-like wonder, the dwarf went to speak to his father - a conservative man who believed in tradtions. Needless to say, the latter was none to keen on letting his boy run off to some big city when he was the future of the family - well, save for his two younger brothers and young sister...

Brozar begrudgingly accepted his father decision though, for a while at least. Though after some more time had passed, the repetition of the daily labor became so mindnumbingly dull that the dwarf almost let out a raging roar of boredom. Instead however, he opted to challenge his father. If he could prove he was a better smith than the man who had taught him everything he knew, then his talents were wasted on a small village like this. Conversely, if he couldn't out-do his papa, he was to stay quiet and work hard at the village for the rest of his days. And so, the contest was on!

Brozar outright crushed his father in every single category, mortally wounding the older dwarf's confidence and ego. With the deal struck, Brozar said goodbye to his family and set out for Orario. Once arriving, he at once joined the Hephaestus Familia and got to work in their splendid facilities... However, something was always bugging the dwarf about his new enviroment. The smiths here all seemed more interested in outshining each other and being the most sought-after provider of items. Sure, being skilled wasn't bad and having customers were important - but that wasn't what the dwarf was after. He just wanted to make fine things like the gear and items those travllers that came to his village had worn. When the other members of his Familia heard this, they either berated him, laughed at his naivety or began to bully and belittle his "lack of drive".

After half a year of this, Brozar got fed up. He confrotned the Goddess of the Smithing Familia and engaged in a heated discussion. Eventually, the dwarf's stubborness prevailed and Hephaestus released him from her Familia. After which, he wandered Orario for a few weeks, doing nothing but living on the earnings he had made previously. Eventually though, a certain Chienthrope overheard the dwarf talking to some others at a tavern, about his home, his dreams and his experience with his old Familia. Offering the dwarf a more relaxed and appreciative home, Grent invited Brozar to Warrior's Rest.

This was back before the events of six years ago, so Athena was still her usual self at the time. She gave the dwarf the trial, and he passed with flying colors, being acknowledged and accepted. Brozar was then astonished as Athena had a forge installed in the backyard of tge Familia's Home, just for him. She stated that it was a Goddess duty to provide for her children, regardless of what path they walked. The dwarf is said to have cried buckets of joy, though he adamantly rebukes this part of the story to this day. Since then, Brozar Fjordstone has been a stalwart, dedicated and loyal member of the Familia and loves it, and his Goddess, more than he will ever admit.

Personal Information:

Name: Chylvie Mithral
Alias: Bladedancer, Chilly, Vanity Princess, Gloomy Elf, Miss Shameless
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Race: Dark Elf

Appearance:
Chylvie Mithral is a young dark elf, and as per usual with elves in general, she is very physically attractive. Lean, slender and well-sculpted limbs, with just the right amoutn of muscalture to not look either waifish nor ripped. She has an ample bosom, peach-shaped posterior, supple thighs and a slim, flat and taut waist and abdomen. Her skin is a lustrous caramel color and her hair, which is naturally white, has been dyed a radiant golden color, is tied into a long ponytail while a pair of sidelocks fall down the sides of her face, framing it nicely along with her bangs. Her eyes are fierce and focsed, with a light red tincture to them.

Her voice is soft and calm, but also a bit cold. her facial expression is usually sullen, disapproving or outright expressionless. Her body-language is very dismissive and hostile, usually having her arms folded, or on her hips while standing fully straight. That said, when she walks, she rolls her hips and almost seem to be gliding. As for Chylvie's attire... It's very minimalistic. She wears an armored, blue jacket with golden trim on her torso - which exposes almost her entire midsection, cleavage and leaves her midriff completely exposed. The back of the outfit is armored with light plates though, some of which wrap around her waist, protecting her sides. It also has a very high collar which is kept buttoned up always, hiding her neck and throat.

Her lower body isn't much better. A pair of thighhigh armored leggings are attached with garter-straps to what looks like a swimsuit or bikini-bottom - though she typically wears a very short, blue skirt when going out on the town. Apart from this, she wearws a pair of ankle-high, brown boots on her feet and a pair of armored gloves on her hands.

Height: 5'4" / 163 cm
Weight: 112 lb / 51 kg
Eye color: Light red
Hair color: Dyed Blonde, originally white

Personality:
Chylvie is a ... Difficult... Person, in many ways. As with all elves, she is extremely adverse to physical contact, unless it's with someone she knows very well, or has incredible trust in. She is few-worded, sharp-tongued, easily irritated, prone to holding grudges, harsh and severe, seemingly cold and often hard to approach. Her eyes and way of speaking makes it difficult for all but the brave or ignorant to try and hold a conversation with her, and her penchant for solitude often causes her to leave mid-way through a casual chat due to losing interest, or not wanting to take part in it anymore. Most people view her as unfriendly, cranky, gloomy and unpleasant.

And they're not wrong. She is all that. Chylvie suffers from Porcupine-syndrom, in that trying to get close to her will cause you to get prickked and stung. Only the most persistent and patient people can ever actually manage to get close to her, and the effort might not be worth the reward. For in addition to her above faults, this dark elf is also incredibly aware of her own beauty, and as such is quite vain. She spends a great deal of time making sure her appearance is up thhere in the beauty-rankings and she can be somewhat narcissisti. That being said, she doesn't believe herself to be the most beautiful or attractive woman alive, she can acknowledge others' attractiveness as well - she just considers her to be up there in the higher clique of pretty people.

Despite all these rather off-putting traits, Chylvie has a few, very few, select, redeeming qualities. Foe one, if you're in her Familia, it doesn't matter if she likes you or not on a personal level, she will defend you to death no matter what. If you're willing to put in the effort to try, she will always be willing to help, believing motivation and effort should be rewarded regardless of the outcome. She is also strangely enough, very considerate of peoples' feelings when they're down in the dumps or need a shoulder to lean on, knowing when to leave someone alone or wen to offer them a chest to cry into. Though she only shows this side extremely rarely, and only if she herself believes that what the person in question is going through is actually worth being angry or sad over.

She handles alcohol very poorly and will fall asleep after ingesting very low quantities of it. She will forcefully apprehend any female Familia-member who hasn't given their appearance a once-over before heading out, and proceed to personally groom and polish them up before releasing them. She does not get along with braggarts or those who look down on people weaker than themselves. She also has a strong dislike for Werewolves and Weretigers, due to childhood trauma.

With all this being said, Chylvie is not entirely humorless though. She can find jokes and jests amsing, she just isn't the type to laugh loudly and energetically, rather letting out a slight, quiet chuckle with her mouth briefly smiling.

Likes: Kindness, Effort, Humility, Praise, Mead, Fashion, Pretty girls, Handsome men, Stargazing, Moonlit walks, Peace and quiet
Dislikes: Being touched, Ugly people, Bragging, Oppression, Bullies, Mockery, Werewolves, Weretigers, Insults, Forced politeness
Hobbies: Trying on various outfits, Inspecting self in mirror, Beauty-care, Fashion, Shopping, Nighttime walks, Forcefully grooming Tiramis the Slob

Background:
Chylvie grew up in a village far away from Orario. She doesn't speak much about it, nearly nothing at all actually. But from what Lady Athena could pry out of her, it seems she lived a quiet life until some bandits, who were roaming werewolves and weretigers, showed up and attacked her home. Her father was slain, her mother kidnapped and she was left for dead since the attackers couldn't find her. They apparently torched most of the buildings after they left and the entire ordeal was nothing short of misery incarnate.

She somehow managed to survive though, and eventually made it to Orario. She joined a small Familia and began visiting the dungeon. Eventually however, some of her fellow Familia members got into an argument with members of a much larger Familia. Arguments led to physical violence which led to a War Game. Obviously, the smaller and weaker Familia she was a part of couldn't stand against the might of a much larger one, and they were subsequently defeated - with the God of her Familia being forced to leave Orario and disband his Familia. It didn't help that some of the oposing Familia's members were a group of werewolves, who mocked and verbally insulted the weaker, defeated Familia further. Although most of her fellow Familia members went on to join new Familia, or even the Familia that had beatent hem, Chylvie refused tod o either.

She bitterly remained alone, refusing to accept that just because someone wasn't as strong or numerous, they were deserving of being pushed around and made fun of. She eventually heard of the misfortune that had befallen Athena and her Familia, and sought them out. Once arriving at their door, and seeing the miserable state of the Goddess, the survivors and those taking care of them, the dark elf felt an immediate connection with these people. They were clinging on, even after a horrible tragedy, even though others either didn't care or even sneered at their misfortune. She vowed then and there, to herself, that no matter what, she would keep these people from suffering what her old Familia had.

Since Athena wasn't in her right mind after the events, Chylvie's joining was a bit unorthodox. She didn't need to go through the trial like the other members had - but once Grent told her about it, she decided to complete it on her own, regardless of whetever Athena had administered it or not. She did complete it though, and her dedication and silent support of the Familia was one of the supporting pillars that helped the Goddess recover - eventually.

Name: Doneth Skrayer
Alias: Don, Donny, Peeper-Don, Cowardon, Loud-mouth Skrayer
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Race: Human

Appearance:
Doneth is a young, below-average height, below-average build, somewhat pale and moderately attractive human lad. His voice is youthful and energtic, though sometimes a bit raspy. He has short-to-medium hair with bangs along his forehead, dyed grey - because he thinks it looks sleek and improves his chances with the ladies. He dresses in rather unremarkable, affordable clothes and boots for day-to-day, and wears a set of extra, heavy-padded cloth armor when adventuring. He also lugs around a very large, very old and worn backpack when dungeoneering.

Height: 5'10" / 177 cm
Weight: 143 lb / 65 kg
Eye color: Green
Hair color: Brown (originally), Grey (dyed)

Personality:
Doneth is everything his father wasn't - which is bad, for Doneth. He's a womanzing casanova who believes himself to be far more attractive and appealing than he actually is. His belief that he's a suave charmer is also rather humorous, considering how often he puts his foot in his mouth while talking to girls. In addition to this one of many flaws, he's a coward and deathly afraid of monsters, making him a rather useless ally inn the dungeon - albeit most time he's only a pack-mule anyway. Of course, Doneth doesn't acknowledge this and will oft loudly and proudly declare the many heroic deeds and accomplishments he's achieved while exploring.

In addition to cowardice, being a braggart and a failed Don Juan, Doneth is a miser who is extremely stingy and penny-pinching when it comes to money. He absolutely refuses to pay full price for anything and would rather walk away empty-handed than actually buy something if it wasn't haggled down in price. This, of course, isn't a bad thing per se, as he's efficient and good at saving money, but it also makes him a bit tedious to go shopping with - not to mention his constant lectures to fellow familia-members about their spending-habits can be a bit grating.

He loves being the center of attention and being surrounded by adoration - wich is rarely the case, but at the same time his ego and confidence is easily bruised, or outright shattered. If someone can expose his exaggerations or prove that he didn't do something he claims, he becomes incredibly flustered and will usually flee the scene, red-faced and teary-eyed while screaming something cliché like; "I won't forget this!"

Despite all this, Doneth has his good siddes. He's an excellent chef and cooks almost daily for his Familia. He's fair and can be relied on to always distribute the earnings of a dungeon-crawl fairly after the Valis is tallied. He's also very loyal to both Athena and the Familia, considering them to be his family (given that he lost his own), and treats all the members are sisters, brothers, cousins and uncles or aunts. That doesn't mean he isn't a brat sometimes, but he does care for everyone around him.

Likes: Pretty girls, Money, Gaudy things, Self-preservation, His father, Bargains, Being idolized, Being praised, Being complimented, Mushroom-dishes
Dislikes: Danger, Pain, Bugs, Intimidating individuals, Tough women, Being alone, Monsters, Being rejected
Hobbies: Attempted Womanizing, Grandifying own exploits, Cooking, Peeping on the girls bath

Background:
Doneth is the son of Rodryn Skrayer, the former Captain of the Athena Familia. He joined the Familia as early as the age of 8, but wasn't given a Falna until his 12th birthday, on account of being far too young to go into the dungeon. His mother died in illness shortly after his birth, but she too had been a member of the Familia, just like his dad. As such, one could say that Doneth was born into the Familia and was always destined to be a part of it. Sadly, soon after he had received his Falna, the failed expedition tragedy occured, causing the deaths of most of the familia's members.

Though his father, Grentiloch and another (now retired) member managed to make it out of the dungeon, his father died from his numerous injuries shortly after. This left a deep scar on Doneth, as he had always viewed his father as this great, indestructible hero who could take on anything. To know that such a man, the man he revered the most, had been bested by the dungeon, was both a shock and a nightmare to the young boy. Not to mention the depression that Athena suffered due to all this, thus furthering Doneth's fear and anxiety towards the underground maze.

As a result of all this, despite having been a part of adventuring groups and being in a Familia for six years, Doneth hasn't even advanced a single level yet. He'll only venture into the depths if he's forced to by Athena, or if accompanied by one of the stronger Familia-members, and even then he's the first to recommend retreating or leaving whenever the opportunity presents itself.

P E R S O N A L ⋅ I N F O R M A T I O N:

Name:

Ayame Sakanoue

Gender:

Female

Age:

19

Race:

Renard

Appearance:

Ayame is a small girl with a big presence. Though she's been through quite a few trials and tribulations in her young life, her noble heritage runs deep - and it shows in everything she does. She carries herself as if she was trying to impress royalty, with each motion carefully planned for. There's a certain aura to her, one of tranquility and grace, that seems to come effortlessly.

That is, until she opens her mouth. While the words themselves are often formal and polite enough, there's a demanding edge to her tone - and if she doesn't get what she wants, she can get loud, shattering any illusion of tranquility that might've still lingered. When frustrated, her silent, graceful movements become forceful and stiff, and she has been seen to stomp her foot on more than one occasion...

She has long, deep black hair cascading down her back all the way to her thighs, with various decorations included in her hairdo. She likes big, puffy, loose-fitting and comfortable clothes, especially ones made of expensive material in vibrant colours. She adores jewelry as well, and can be often found donning excessive amounts of it. In other words, she--- hardly looks like someone that should be descending down into a monster filled dungeon. Thankfully, she has prepared for the trip a little, opting for a slightly less obtrusive getup. Her skin is well cared for, but has seen little sun; as much is obvious from how easily her pale skin burns.

Height: 5'2''
Weight: A lady should never be asked her weight
Eye color: Dark red
Hair color: Deep black

Personality:

As said, one would be forgiven for mistaking Ayame to a demure lady that tries her best to go unseen and avoid conflict. For all intents and purposes, that is how her parents tried to raise her - but not quite what became of her. In a word, Ayame is a diva that ultimately strives to ensure her own comfort above everything else. She's greedy, coveting riches that might grant her an "easy life" as she puts it, and gods help whoever tries to get in her way.

She's stubborn yet lazy, wanting things but not really wanting to work for them. When things get hard, she has no problem throwing away her pride and acting like a damsel in distress, even if she were fully capable of solving the situation herself. She dislikes hard labor, particularly if it threatens to get her hands dirty. Why do something herself anyway, if she can have someone else do it in exchange for a few cooing words and a wink? That's just absurd! Of course, if her little ploy doesn't work, she's quick to grow frustrated and let her true, less than pleasant colours show via demands, threats, bribery or simply constant, endless, vehement nagging.

Difficult as it might be to believe, Ayame is not without her good sides, however. For one, though she's not above flattery or manipulation to get what she wants short term, she ultimately doesn't want to retort to lies and deceit to make a living. She's seen how such things affect others, and while she seeks an easy life, she doesn't want to make anyone else's (too) difficult while attaining it. She will, if begrudgingly, work for her keep if the situation calls for it, and will absolutely come to the aid of anyone she sees requiring it. She just... may ask for a favor in return, but such thing is just common courtesy, is it not? She also has a soft spot for anything or anyone cute; children and small animals in particular. Except dogs. Hrr, dogs.

Ayame is also curious, and always willing to learn; particularly through books, her second love, right after jewelry. She's particularly interested in furthering her knowledge on magic, culture and history, and can often be found taking notes in her little book. She might not seem like your usual intellectual, oftentimes acting rashly or coming across as sheltered, but let not appearances deceive you; that's exactly what she wants.

Background:

Born to a noble family far from Orario, Ayame's early years were spent among riches and luxuries. She was an only child and the apple of her parents' eyes, all her needs taken care of and wishes heeded to. As one would expect, she grew up both sheltered and indolent, never having known the need to work for her keep. And once her parents found out that much like them, she had aptitude for magic, their praises all but doubled. If Ayame wasn't spending her days lazing around or relaxing, she was practicing magic or reading - skills that, while she never deliberately tried to lea, would prove useful years later.

Ayame was still a child when her home was ravaged by thieves, attracted to the family's wealth - or so the story told to her went, anyway. There were rumours that told a different tale; that her parents had earned their riches through fraudulent means, and that it had been their own vile deeds that had finally caught up to them. Whatever the real story, the end result was much the same; Ayame's parents perished and she was whisked away to safety at her uncle's house, far from her family's estate.

The new house she had to settle into was much smaller than the one prior, and the rules weren't quite as lax. For one, there was no such thing as idling around. Everyone that lived under Kotomine's roof had to contribute in some way - a concept that did not sit well with the young renard. Ayame was a turbulent teen and as stubborn as they came, so after a few months spent either bickering or begrudgingly preparing food, she finally gathered her things and bid adieu.

Only, as she would soon find out, she could not outrun the need to work. Without work, she could get no coin - and without coin, she couldn't eat. It was the simplest of concepts, yet it took actually experiencing it for her to fully grasp the absolute nature of it. But once she finally accepted that there was no shortcut to riches, she quickly found out that not having spent a day of her life actually working, she wasn't really... good at anything. She couldn't cook, her hands blistered after the slightest attempt to clean, and she had neither the physique nor technique to lift or carry things. All she had was little bit of magic and an empty stomach.

So, she ended up a street artist, performing small magic tricks for anyone that had the time to stop and watch awhile. It kept her eating, but wasn't quite the ticket back to luxury shed'd hoped for. It gave her practice in her craft, but even when her performance improved, her income hardly did. Even so, she stuck to her guns, stubborn as ever. Time and time again she came across shady folk on the streets, and just as many times she turned to face the other way, refusing their attempts to try and get her to join their little ploys. She'd seen what thieves did to people. She would not fall quite that low.

Then, one day, she got reason not to turn her head away. She overheard a little girl screaming for help, and found herself at the scene of a kidnapping. Unarmed and completely untrained in any sort of combat, she acted on instinct and did the only thing she could think of; for the first time in her life, she aimed her magic at another living being. She was in luck; her display of magic attracted the town guards, and the situation dissolved before the thieves could retaliate. The girl thanked her, and in her childish glee, mentioned something about her adventurers - and how she would make for a great one. Ayame brushed it aside as a child's blathering.

That was, until one day at the local inn, she happened to overhear a similar topic. She heard talk of a place called Orario, a labyrinth city where many gathered in hopes of making a fortune. Utterly tired of her daily grind, Ayame's interest was piqued - and a few days later, she found herself stepping unto the cobblestones of Orario for the first time.

Personal Information
Name: Triss Honeyforge
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Race: Pallum

Appearance
Triss is what you’d expect out of a Pallum: a human child with a round face and bright eyes. Cute in the way that small pets are, there’s no particular reason to invest any sort of trust in him, and indeed, he doesn’t look very reliable at all, not with his skinny, boyish build and his stupid grin. But there are always scrapes on his fair complexion, and his hands are perpetually bandaged, to protect present wounds and to protect from future wounds. Despite his looks, he has a history of hard work, and an ardent flame burns in his heart, pounding on and on no matter how battered he becomes. It’s a shame, truly, that his Pallum constitution prevents him from truly getting what he puts in.

Out of respect for his master, Triss wears the garbs of the Far East and owns only one set of clothing: that of a dirt-stained robe that may have once been white, and a pair of sandals to protect his feet from less pleasant terrain. He’s often bandaged up, particularly around the limbs and the chest, and he keeps his otherwise unruly hair in a long braid, showing some hesitation in simply lopping the whole thing off. While not wholly adverse to other fashions, this Pallum certainly enjoys wearing looser, baggier clothing, thinking of it as something ‘fresh’ and ‘chill’.

Personality
Triss Honeyforge is not one for social graces or euphemisms: he cuts to the chase with a directness that can be both tactless and refreshing. Occasionally, this manifests itself as a laconic wit that stoic heroes often tote, but most of the time, it makes him appear simple-minded instead, clearly a child who lacks sophistication and all that jazz. Triss doesn’t mind though. His self-esteem is enough so that he values his hard-headed, obstinate nature as what allows him to slam his skull against any wall until it eventually breaks down. Challenges and trials are embraced, rivals are valued more than comrades. That isn’t to say though, that the redheaded Pallum enjoys fighting for the sake of fighting. Rather, the competitive spirit he has within his heart pushes him only to win. Only perpetual losers say stuff like “losing is a valuable experience”, after all, and Triss has no intention of developing that sort of depressing philosophy. He’s in it to win it, and he’s going to go all in for that.

For all his stubborn competitiveness, Triss is still an intrinsically good person. He takes everyone seriously, no matter who they are, and he strives to be valorous and decisive, a Pallum who wants to shape himself into a leader. There is no ambition or pride behind his effort, merely a desire for continual self-improvement and a hell of an inferiority complex. He hates it, after all, when people look down upon his race, and has made it his life’s mission to get to the point where he can rub it in all their stinky smelly faces that he’s higher-level than them AND a front-line melee fighter. To that end, Triss can be rather shameless: he’s willing to kowtow for lessons, and there’s no grunt chores that he’ll turn his nose up to. Every experience has value, even the most menial of labors. If there’s something that no one else will do, he will volunteer for it. By putting his best foot forward every day, by working hard and living a fulfilling, adventurous life, he believes that good things will come and his efforts will be rewarded.

Which probably marks himself as just another naïve Level 1 adventurer, doesn’t it?

Background
Why would one want a Pallum?

If you wanted someone stout, Dwarves are much better.

If you wanted someone fierce and powerful, take any Demi-Human.

If you wanted people in the backline, Elves and Renards are both great choices.

If you wanted a Supporter, even humans can do better, by virtue of larger bodies that can reach places where Pallum can’t.

Dark vision? Laughable. The Dungeon’s interiors are filled with luminescent crystals, and even in places of true darkness, a torch easily solves such problems. Have them be scouts? With such short legs, there’s no way they’ll cover any ground at all, compared to any other race.

Honestly, why would anyone want a Pallum adventurer?

No one would. And that’s why Triss strove to become one.

His parents were merchants, plying dyes and cloths from exotic lands, but trade and clothing never excited Triss. He was a dutiful son, of course, sweeping the floors, feeding the draft horses, doing everything without complaint, but like many a youth in an era blessed by Gods, he wanted more. He wanted to do something special, he wanted to be someone special. And, more than that, he hated people treating him nicely just because he was small. Perhaps it was petty, perhaps it was disagreeable, but even then, Triss wanted to be recognized as something beyond his height.

So it made him really angry, when he began to really listen around him and absorb just how much shit people talked about Pallums. It made him really angry, and it made him get to work.

It started with just helping his father load crates onto the wagon. Then he transitioned into lifting stones and shit. He started running too, because that seemed like it was good. He picked up sticks too, and waved them around like swords, dreaming of one day proving some vague, nebulous point about how Pallum can be front-line warriors too, with the same efficacy as literally any other race. But meaningless training got nowhere, and when Triss confronted some of his peers, he still got beaten up for it. And god, it sucked.

It sucked a lot. And that bitterness made him try all that much harder.

Years passed and his family’s trade routes grew larger and larger until finally, they reached the Far East and Triss found his true calling. A Kung Fu Master! Oh, how exciting! To fell monsters with fists alone would surely teach all those naysayers a lesson! Others relied on the might of their arms, but through martial arts, one required only forged, polished techniques to fell beasts many times their size! It felt to Triss a perfect match, and he immediately began to go around towns and villages, invading dojos in search for an apprenticeship.

Some kicked him out. Some kicked him before kicking him out. Others just sorta laughed. And still more didn’t actually understand what he was saying, because damn, language barrier is a thick one.

But one person acknowledged the Pallum’s desires, and with the promise to write often and stay safe, Triss parted with his parents in order to live life with a stranger.

It was rough. Very rough.

But when he took the ship to Orario, four years later, donning the garb of his master, Triss could feel it in his bones.

He was ready.

Or, at least, he hoped he was.
