Is the outcast monk in a barrel a vague reference to Diogenes? Or am I projecting that one? lol

Solid background, a betrayal, a dead master .. reads like it could've been ripped out of a shounen/seinen manga or an old Akira Kurosawa film. I like it.

I like Coh, and the tie in with Dark Light's character.

I do have a question about discrete telepathy though.

As the hooded figure slips through crowds of people he's capable of picking through their immediate thoughts for key details.

What are key details?
Is that something Coh determines? Or is that something Coh's target determines?
From whose frame of reference is it a key detail?

From whose frame of reference is it a key detail?


It it were a player character it’d be completely up to them. The idea of it is basically passive telepathy that gives you like, at a glance, type or information that’s rattling in their head. The whole key details thing just means, it doesn’t give him the whole picture, just important details.

An example would be something along the lines of: Coh walks past some Empire Agent NPC. As he’s passing he flexes his brain muscles to get the ol telepathy gears turning and picks up a few images of a criminal being walked away by a bunch of armed guards. So the whole pickpocketing aspect of it is more so the ideal of being a quick and low risk means of picking up small bits of information from various people.

So the Halcyon SOS has already reached the station right? Is the station in like a 'high alert' stage? And how prominent is the presence of the Talim people here since the SOS?

1. Yes, it's been a week since the message was received.
2. Rather than high-alert, the locals are just very much on edge and many are ready to snap.
3. Istio is the most backwater system in all of Talim. Even if the Talim want to pay a visit, Istio is really far away from the leylines. Doesnt mean they won't come to investigate, but it's probably a matter of time.

I've realized that in my haste to get things started, I made the intro more difficult for you guys to write yourselves into than it really should be. I didn't really give you guys a lot to interact with aside from a vague notion of the space station, and that you should be there.... Somehow.

So... It may take me a bit, but I'm going to work on that over the next few days.

You're good, I'm working on intros for the remaining 3 characters.
In particular, the one for Maddy@This Girlie and Durzi@Drache is mostly done.

I've been on-call pretty much all week (and this weekend), so progress has been slow. >.>;

Don't let the past tense fool you. You guys have freedom to get sidetracked with other character interactions along the way. I just wanted to make sure you guys had enough info to move around the station and get where you need to. Alot of info can be gathered through word of mouth or by buying a data slate from a local trader.

I left it kind of open in case you wanted to explore, but try to keep the meeting in focus.

I feel awful for doing this, but I feel like I don't have much of a choice.

I'm dropping this game. If anyone wants to try their hand at continuing it, I'll gladly share my notes, but I'm stepping down.

In the past few weeks, I've been working so much that it's been hard to keep up with anything IRL, let alone games. This is a cool RP, and I may resurrect it in the future. However, this RP really needs more time and attention than I can sacrifice for it. I know I promised quality, but I didn't really deliver. The clumsy storytelling might have given that away...

In any case, I'm sorry guys.
