Liam chuckled to himself as he was about to do the very same thing as Shiranui did. He walked over to take Chuck from Shiranui so that he could go first.

"Sorry about my friend," Shiranui apologised to Nessa, "We're here as gym challengers."
"Is that so? I didn't believe some of the other gym leaders when they said that league champions from other regions have come here to Galar to take on the Gym Challenge, yet here you all are; and I'm itching to sink you all in the abyss of defeat! Meet me at the stadium and we'll battle up a storm that Hulbury hasn't seen in ages." With that, Nessa left for the stadium to make final preparations for battle.
"I haven't seen confidence like that in a Water type specialist since the Cerulean Gym," Shiranui commented.

"Honestly, I don't know. I've never really been particular to the water type, and I didn't even know she was a model. Maybe it was her exotic look?" he said, confused about it himself.

"I don't know whether to feel insulted or curious" Serina said to him, noticing Jen rushing the others ahead to give her and Chuck to talk properly, mouthing a thank you to her.
"So, a ninja girl is not exotic to you Chuck? I can't look super similar to Shinranui Ninja clan as his clan are based in a more normal area while mine are based on an island" She added.

(OOC: Personally I preferred Bea but that's also due to my Lucario bias as well)

"Oh no, I didn't say ninja's weren't exotic, it's just a different kind of exotic." he said. "I suppose one way you could think about it is like Ice Cream. Normally, you have the plain Vanilla, which isn't bad, but it's just plain. Then you have other flavors like Chocolate and Strawberry, which are a bit more exciting and different, in their own ways. Chocolate, for it's richness and pleasant bitterness, and Strawberry for it's sweetness and tartness."

(I'm sure both you and Selina can figure out who fits in what category)

Selima seemed confused by this before saying "I've never had ice cream before but that sounds mighty tasty, I guess I do see your point. But ..." She then moved close to him so he would be gazing into her eyes. "Your a cutie Chuck, and when you decide what kind of girl you want to date, I'll support your choice, now we best not keep the others waiting" She said with a wink before leaving him to catch up with the others.
