Digimon: Dawn's Glimmering

This is what you know.

It is January 1, 2025, and you have received a ticket to an exclusive resort in Hawaii as part of a mysterious promotional project, and against your better judgment, you have decided to take it. And surprise, surprise, it seems to be the real deal: The Staff are friendly and nice, you receive discounts for everything, the food is tasty and filling, and the resort has free Netflix and a host of other streaming services.

You are probably enjoying yourself, right?

Then a freak blackout, then a storm, covers the entire resort, transporting you and other children and teenagers who had received the same message to the Digital World, a dimension composed of Humans' computer data mixed with their emotional energy.

And by emotional energy, we mean something supernatural in nature mixed with the power of technology and information. Your lives will never be the same...





Rules

1.) No Godmoding or Powergaming, aka no controlling other players' actions, no defeating your enemy in one shot, and no shrugging off all hits without a magical shield.
2.) You can have multiple characters and can run both a Human and a Digimon.
3.) Be polite to others.
4.) Caveat to 1.) You can defeat your enemy in one shot if you have a Mega and they have a Rookie, but doing so will be looked down upon.
5.) Romance is allowed, whether same-sex or opposite-sex; just keep it SFW.
6.) The Royal Knights are still alive or truly dead/deleted, and so they cannot be played by players. However, they can be NPCs partnered with Human PCs. Fair warning, by the way, this will be additional workload for the GM Team.

Name: Andrew Starling.

Short Bio: Andrew Starling was a musical talent, discovered young and raised in glitz and glamour, although his parents kept enough of a clear head to keep him sweet and kind, and also kept him studying. He can get anything he wanted, he could pay for anything he liked (within reason), but he never really discovered something to spend too much of his spare cash on.

Videogames? Only a few of them were good. Anime? Only some didn't sour on him. Dancing? He was paid to dance as well as sing. Then he hit puberty and discovered 1.) Girls, and 2.) Other Boys. That's when his life took a downturn; as both wanted him for his money, and thought nothing of using their charms, excuses, and a little sob story now and again to trick him into spending his cash on them until his parents and his manager put their foot down.

Only a few of his 'crushes' stayed after that, and Andrew realized that had he been just one bit more naive and overconfident, he could have been tricked into spending his fortune away, ending up like many other washed-out celebrities. But from those who stayed, accepting friendship rather than anything more committed, Andrew learned the value of loyalty, of not letting childish and petty betrayal ruin his view on people forever. He was going to shine, to be the Light that brings beauty and wonder to the darkness.

Or maybe, because he refused to despair, he is Hope instead? Either way, when he got booked a ticket to Hawaii by a 'mysterious friend' of his manager, Andrew decided it would be a change of pace; maybe he'd finally meet 'The One' should he go there, not exactly incognito, but not making a spectacle of himself, either.

What he could not see was that something he was not ready for was coming.

Skills: Andrew Starling loves music and dancing, plain and simple. He has been trying to focus on academics after his latest rounds of disappointment, but has not found his footing yet. He knows some trivia, though, as well as the basics of streaming and even Vtubing.

The guardian of the Village of Birth, where all Digimon who die without being irredeemably corrupted are reborn, Elecmon was visited by Dorumon, his old friend and ally, with a plan to overthrow the Demon Lords and restore order to the Digital World and better lives for his 'charges'.

Personality A calm and charismatic guy, Mike is always ready to help out others and often take on the big brother role to help someone even if they may be older than him or struggling with their responsibilities. Mike is exceptionally loyal to his friends and will always help them if he can, sometimes it may be just to be a shoulder to cry on or someone to rant to if they need it.
Short Bio:
The middle child of the Fertar siblings, Mike, is the smartest of his siblings and left school with a lot of degrees in computing, software creation, computing engineer, and website creation. It's thanks to Mike's hard work that his sister Sashia became as popular as she is as a V-tuber, and she has often said so in some of her streams that he has helped her. Mike is a charismatic guy and always tries to see things from a logical viewpoint. Because of his busy life, Mike doesn’t have a lot of friends but those he does, have always spoken fondly of him and how much he helps them when they need it.

Personality A bit of a rude guy who can be easily anger, Wolfy struggles to interact with other people and has often started a fight for no reason, though this is down to a deep feeling of loneliness and hurt. Abandoned by his fellow gabumon, even when he put himself in danger to protect them, Wolfy's heart is cold but still has the sparks of heroism in it. However, he can’t truly deny his better nature and will still put himself in danger to protect others even when he tries not to, and does not stay to get a reward or anything.
Short Bio:
An outcast among his fellow kind due to his dark fur, Wolfy has always been alone and has always survived on his own. His view on the world is dark and hateful. Eventually, that loneliness manifests, and he digivolve into BlackGabumon becoming stronger than the other gabumon’s. However, he still had a good heart though it buried beneath his loneliness and choose to not seek vengeance against the others, instead choosing to travel on his own to become stronger, he would gain a reputation though his action to become known as the Black Knight, though he also was never expected a strange offer and a fateful meeting with someone who would become his dearest and closest friend..

Personality Sashia is a charismatic individual who loves being infront of people, She is smart, witty and can be quite the flirt to both genders. When V-tubing, her charisma is on full display and her fans love her perky upbeat tones, she’s even caused some of her fellow V-tubers to blush with her flirty nature and is a competitive gamer in her own right. When not V-tubing, She is friendly and kind to all, she holds great deals of compassion to other people and is always on hand if her friends or fans want to talk to her. She is also a bit of a perfectionist herself, making sure her V-tuber model is always functioning right and her drawing she does as commission are always detail perfect. She also loves animals epically foxes and has a few fox themes pictures around her apartment.
Short Bio:
The youngest child of the Fertar sibling, Sashia, is probably the most talented of the 3. Her two older brothers are very protective of her despite the fact she can fight back herself as she is trained in Judo and Ju-jitsu. She became obsessed with V-tubers after watching a lot of them when she was younger, loving the vibrant colours and beautiful characters they had. She started V-tubing at 16 and gained a following rather quickly with her natural talents in acting, singing, and drawing, creating her V-tuber model herself. As of most recently, she has almost hit the 1 million subscribers to her V-tube channel and also does commission under her real name on an account different to her V-tuber account as she wants people to respect her work on it own not just because its linked to her popular account

Personality A calm and collected digimon, Renamon has always been a bit of a perfectionist and is almost romantically enthralled by the stories she had heard of the past, epically the one about a Renamon who was once a partner of a human. Although Digimon don’t have a family in a natural sense, Renamon sees the other Viximon/Renamon that she grew up with as family and the Sakuyamon and Kuzuhamon as their mothers and protectors epically the Kuzuhamon that taught her everything she knew, though she did learn that it was a Sakuyamon that had once been a partner of a human that had learned about family and why she set that precedence in the village which had carried for years.
Short Bio:
Born in a digimon village not far from a shrine town, once she became a Viximon, she was adopted alongside other Viximons to come to the shrine town to be trained by the Sakuyamon and Kuzuhanmon for their future roles as shrine maidens and shrine defenders. Learning the history of the town and the stories of the original founder of the village sent shivers though her body and she wanted to do those things, however she struggled with the basics tasks and often had to have help from the Kuzuhamon who was her mother, Worried for her, her adopted mother began to seek guidance from the spirts and learned of Renamon destiny as well as how best to teach her. With that guidance, Renamon learned faster and soon outpaced her fellow siblings, Her mother would then tell her of her destiny and Renamon would began a quest of her own to find her partner.

Physical Description:


Important items: A much loved, old hat. An Album of faded photographs. A camera covered in old stickers. A bag of forgotten tools.

Short Bio: That which has broken cannot be so easily repaired. No matter how much you try, a vase once shattered cannot be restored no matter how much gold you fill the cracks with. A shining star who lit up the lives of those around her, until that evening star set for the first and final time.

A girl who once stood to bear a bright future, a child who lived for the sake of the love she felt, an open heart who's only desire was to save those around her, most especially her beloved younger sister. Was it any wonder that a child like that would decide to become a doctor? To spend her life saving those around her and bring but a little more light to the darkest times of people's lives.

But everything fell apart. Her beloved sister, the centre of her world suddenly fell sick, the girl who inspired her to save others, became the one life she could never save. No matter how many books she read, no matter how many exams she aced, she could not cure the incurable, and her world broke like a vase pushed from a shelf.

Her loving heart shattered, her family incapable of picking up the pieces left behind, and her dreams became nothing other than a waking nightmare. What use is there in saving others... When you cannot save those who truly matter? All she had left was an old hat her sister once loved, and a collection of pictures, her heart inscribed for her to gaze upon, yet unable to truly repair.

Isolated and trapped within her own broken self, living only for the shining light of a screen and the flickering of those pictures held gently in her fingers, her bright future became an overcast shadow, until a ray of light came through. A message which promised her a new purpose, and perhaps an opportunity to save herself, if not anyone else.

Personality: A loving heart clouded by melancholy. An outstretched hand cracked and mended. A sad smile as she aims to support those around her, yet even then momentary rays of her original self shine through. She might never be the shining star she once was, but her light can chart a path for others to find their own dreams.

Skills: A deep knowledge of medicine and pharmaceuticals, a girl who once dreamt of being a great doctor, yet whose fingers slipped before she could truly grasp that star.

Short Bio: A corpse who refuses to die. A digimon who lives for the sake of love, and refuses to rest until she meets it. A broken, flawed beast who's digicore was damaged beyond repair, yet even still rejects her end and continues on through sheer force of obsession. A puppet pulling her own strings, following an absent heart in search of one who might fix her. And who one day, encountered a being who seemed so similar, yet so different to what she had become and simply decided to follow it, in search of the destiny she felt was inevitable.

Personality: Fundamentally broken. A digimon who should love as fiercely as the thunder, and feel as deeply as the heavens. Even in this state, that love and passion occasionally shine through, lightning breaking the everdeepening clouds, yet for most of the time, she is but a hollow puppet. A machine operating itself even as it falls apart, a doll who searches for love and will fulfil any wish, any desire to reach that point. Less a living being, less a digimon and more a function, an equation ever solving for an inevitable answer.
