By the way, I had mentioned this to Kindred a couple times in the past. This probably wouldn't be anything that happened too terribly soon but leaning into the FF side of things-

Would anyone want to get involved with Summons? Obviously KH has its own Summons but these would be more personal Summons tied to each individual character, chosen IC, but based on FF summons. So Ifrit, Titan, Bahamut, Ramuh, Odin, Leviathan, Alexander, Satan... so on, so forth.

Could be a more personal 'boss fight' later on in the story for anyone who wants to try and earn the favor of a Summon.

Nobody would be forced to participate or to get a Summon, just an idea.

I wonder what Hoshi's ideal Summon would be?

I'd say the only ones that would be already taken are Shiva for a later appearance, and somewhat more obviously... Knights of the Round.

Hoshi being combat focused, could be something like Ravana or Susano (Doesn't need to be actual SUMMONS but just like... things that have been summoned in FF history). Those would depend on how much she actually enjoys fighting and competition. They both love combat and being challenged, just one is fire aspected, the other is water.

Hoshi would definitely be more of a fire aspect. I wonder if a Summon could be used in a manner akin to a drive form? Other than that, I'd say a Hoshi summon would be like in FFVII Remake, where the summon fights alongside her passively, and then unleashes its power moves on her command.

I'd say a summon could be used as a drive form since that's similar to how Sora got his drive forms, outside magic. Summons could give you outfit changes that increase your power and lets you tap into theirs, but depending on how powerful the summon is there may be drawbacks to using it, similar to Sora's AntiForm, as well as a cool down/weakened state time.

And I'm sorry everyone for the delay in the GM post. Things got unexpectedly busy, but I'm free today and tomorrow for the holiday so I'll also respond to Hoshi in the collab.

I'd say a summon could be whatever you want. It could give you a power up/transformation, a weapon, a mount, or show up and attack directly itself.

Like for example, Odin could grant someone his horse and sword, or Bahamut could rain swords from the sky without appearing directly (There's so many versions of Bahamut at this point...). Someone like Shiva is more of a direct, appear and act on her own, same with the Knights of the Round. They are summoned to attack as their own entity. But summons can work however you want once your character gains their power. And doesn't need to be bound to one way.

You could summon Odin's horse in one fight, and have Odin himself appear in the next. (Unless it's FF13 where... Odin IS the horse...)

Probably the main thing to think about is what each summon stands for. Like, for obvious reasons, I don't see anyone but my character being able to summon the Knights of the Round.

Someone like Titan is the embodiment of the sheer strength of the Earth itself. Garuda can embody wind and freedom. Ifrit... kinda tends to represent the fires of hatred and anger.

And yeah, it should at the very least take a lot more to earn the power of a higher summon. Like, gaining the more baser ones like Ifrit, Titan, and Garuda, would be a walk in the park compared to earning the power of Bahamut, Ultima, or Omega. And then there's just a wide range of power between them from something like the Moogle King up to Alexander.

I have posted! I just tagged everyone in Traverse Town because they'll be able to hear the bells. If Zac and Leon want to leave the First District to fight the Guard Armor and protect the keyhole they can. They'd actually need Zac to deal with the latter anyway.

That's alright with me, especially since he's well-connected with the Final Fantasy crew already. Wouldn't be surprised if he was from there as well.
