𝐸𝓅𝒾𝓈𝑜𝒹𝑒 1 - 𝒮𝓉𝒶𝓇 𝑀𝒶𝓃

Dyna City.

A busy Neo-American city filled with the nation's brightest.

Among it's many institutions lay Wing Zero Academy.

The first semester of the new school year has just begun. Student housing is grouped together not far from campus - most of the dorms and group housing is within walking distance to the main building of the school. The first day of school has ended, and you head back to your dorm after a pretty straightforward day of going over the years syllabus, and meeting up with some old friends you may not have seen in a while (or perhaps some folks you would have hoped to avoid.) You have the weekend ahead of you before the semester starts proper. Housing assignments had been assigned, and most everyone is already moved in. Almost.

The precipe of the new year stands before the students of Wing Zero, especially daunting to our seniors. With the launch of The Persephone - the first livable space environment just outside of earth's orbit soon opening to the public for living, the options for the future have become far more vast than ever before. Civilians have been able to visit and see it's dazzling arrays, but excitement is at a fever pitch. Numerous celebrations are set to take place there over the next few months leading up to it's official opening - including a Martial Arts Tournament, a Music Festival (the first of it's kind in space!) and the highly anticipated Inaugural Persephone Grand Prix which will feature some of racing's top competitors, including the legendary Lance Price.

But that comes later. After the lives of a few of Wing Zero's students are completely upended. In fact, right now, streaking across the sky comes their destiny. Trailing danger, risk, and possible death - the fate of this world will soon rest on the shoulders of a small group of youths - each struggling with their own lives - soon to be thrust into a world of heroes and villains, and an enemy so dangerous that the stars dare not to shine in it's presence....

But as we head into Dyna City, we get a glimpse of these soon to be heroes. One of them finally at peace with himself, only to be thrown into this new challenge. Another is a studious type - not knowing he's been on a collision course with his dreams since he was a kid - but not in the way he'd expect. And the other...well - all in due time.

"Another day in paradise."

Tick.

Tock.

Tick.

Tock.

Sully Price's focus was zeroed in on the classroom clock, his hazel eyes staring a hole into it. Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up! Despite his mental pleading, time was still refusing to pick up the pace. Which meant he was still stuck with Professor Hyde yammering on about the class syllabus. Not that he was listening, as Sully had turned his brain off half an hour ago. However, seeing nothing else to do, he tuned back into whatever the professor was droning on about...

"We're going to have a lot of fun this year, but we're also going to put in some work," He explained, pushing up his glasses. "My grading method is fair, but firm. As long as you're putting the effort in, I'm more than happy to..."

...Before tuning back out. All around him, classmates hung on the Professor's every word, jotting down his speech like there would be a quiz at the end of class. Imagine that, a quiz on the first day. Sully was considering taking a second 'bathroom break' to run the clock out when the shrill bell that signaled the end of class graced his ears like sweet music. Like a lion in range of its prey, he sprung up and out of his seat, grabbing a packet of paper on his desk and unceremoniously stuffing it into the darkest recesses of his backpack before speed-walking out of the room and into the hallway. All around him, like-minded students burst out of classrooms, steadily increasing the foot traffic and chatter in the school. Picking up his pace before the halls got too crowded to move, a gaggle of conversating students was side-stepped and another nearly collided into as Sully broke out into a full-on jog to the end of the hall, where a pair of double doors returned him to the outside world.

Dyna City was a real beauty, when it wanted to be. While some locations had to deal with smog blotting the blue sky, others had it on full display, the heat of the sun lighting you up not too hot, but just right. Free from the prison that was academia, the newly energized Sully's gears began to grind. Class was officially over, which meant it was time for some fun. A small flight of stairs was taken two steps at a time before Sully leapt from the third to last step and sauntered over to the bike rack where he had parked his dirt bike. His yellow BSR Raven was dutifully waiting for him, practically begging him to whisk the two of them through the streets for an after-school joyride. And Sully was about to give them both what they wanted, when he paused. Glancing at his watch, he let off a groan. In about 20 minutes, he was supposed to meet his dorm's Resident Advisor. Which sounded important and something he shouldn't arrive late for. But then again, why waste this good weather and spend even more time inside? Sully looked to his bike, then towards the direction of the student dorms. Then his bike again. Then the dorms.

The answer was obvious.

...

"Whoooooo-hooooo!"

Sully, now wearing a yellow helmet and riding his dirt bike, howled into the wind as he rode through the streets. After taking a sharp turn, he slowed down and entered a parking lot, coming to a stop in one of the spots. Stepping off his bike, he could already tell that he was feeling 100% better than he did 20 minutes ago. But as he put his helmet back into his bag and checked his watch, he would soon learn of the error in his statement. Because instead of spending 20 minutes on the road, his calculation was off by another 15 minutes. The corner of Sully's mouth twitched before returning to normal. Shrugging nonchalantly, he began his trek from the parking lot to his dormitory. Ah, so what? 15 minutes isn't an eternity. Especially for a meeting with some Resident Advisor.

Nate Kelly

Nate was sitting outside the door to Zeta House, waiting for his third and last roommate to finally arrive. Not that he wanted to be there, he needed to take care of something in town. "Ugh, why did he decide to move in after class?"

Part of Nate wanted to just hand the job over to Jet, the only other student in Zeta House he had met so far, so that he could go deal with his other business. Unfortunately as the Resident Advisor Nate needed to give the newcomer his key and then he had to sign some of the paperwork so that wasn't an option.

At least the weather was nice and the internet connection at Zeta House was excellent. Honestly if he didn't have something better to do he wouldn't have minded waiting since he could just kill time on his phone, and it wasn't hard to imagine that his unknown roommate had simply gotten lost on campus.

Nate occasionally looked up from the 3-d image projected from his phone to see if his appointment had arrived yet but didn't see anyone. After about 15 minutes he started to wonder if maybe the meeting place was somewhere else and he was the one messing things up, but before he could check he spotted someone walking towards the dorms. "You here to talk to the RA and move in?

Nate decided he should clarify he was the Resident Advisor and not just some nosy student, just in case. "That is me btw, Nate Kelly Resident Advisor of Zeta House

Finn Logan

Finn dropped his duffel bag on the bed and flopped onto it with a dramatic sigh, legs kicking over the edge as he stared up at the ceiling of Zeta House. He’d decorated exactly one corner of it. Fairy lights, a framed photo of his little sister hugging a unicorn plushie, and a pink throw blanket folded neatly on the foot of his mattress.

It wasn’t home yet. But it was getting there.

“Okay, Zeta House,” he said aloud, stretching like a cat, “let’s see what kind of main character arc we’ve got going this semester.”

He’d already met one of his roommates, Jet, the guy with an absurd number of glowing screens and a gaming chair that looked like it could launch into orbit. They hadn’t talked much, but Finn respected the vibes. Plus, Finn had brought brownies. That was the universal peace treaty.

The other roommate remained a mystery. Phantom Roommate. Potentially a vampire. Or a barista. Or both.

And now that classes were done for the day. Miraculously, Finn had not fallen asleep during orbital mechanics, he had plans.

The cheer team had invited him out to hang, and while the thought of Rio being there made his stomach do that weird flippy thing it only did when someone with a gorgeous face, and the personality of spoiled yogurt was nearby… he liked the rest of them. And he didn’t want to be a no show captain.

Still, his mind drifted briefly as he tied his shoes, remembering a certain incident from a few weeks back. A guy had been cornered by Rio outside the cafeteria. It had gotten ugly. Finn hadn’t stepped in, not knowing the whole story, but it had stuck with him.

He sighed again and stood, “Okay, social butterfly mode: engage.” He gave himself finger guns in the mirror. “No drama, no fighting, just sparkling good vibes.”

With one final glance back at the room, Finn headed out.

Jet

Jet was in the kitchen of the dorm, a sort of shared living space, grabbing a drink out of the fridge. He pulled out a six pack of his favorite - an energy drink called "DYNAZAP." It's bright blue and yellow lettering emblazoned across the extra large can. It was Jet's go to fuel source when he was pulling an inevitable all-nighter. He had the weekend ahead of him, and without any schoolwork or extra curriculars he needed to get to, he was planning on spending the entire weekend in front of The Command Center - his customized PC and console bay he had built himself. As he closed the fridge, he heard one of his roommates, Finn - the excitable guy - pass through. Jet had met Finn and Nate, but they were still waiting on their 3rd roommate, who had neglected to even bother moving his stuff in yet. Troublesome, but it was no skin off of Jet's back. Still, he wondered what kind of guy he'd be.

Cracking the tab of the can, Jet lifted his giant headphones off of one ear and gestured to Finn.

"Hey - that RA is outside. His name is Nate - he's the other guy who already moved in. No word on our mystery third yet. I'm going to go lock-in at the CC (Command Center) if you guys need me for anything - but I'm not very helpful when it comes to lifting any furniture this guy might have." Jet found it important to quickly come up with his excuses to avoid the physical stuff. He popped his headphones back on and stacked up a plate full of chips and other snacks, piled way too high.

"...Just don't bring the ugly girls."

Sully strolled through the student housing area at a leisurely pace. Rather than hustling to avoid being even later, he was consumed with perusing the various dormitory and houses lined up. Seemed like the academy was sparing no expenses, because everything was clean, tidy and well-manicured.

Well, everything except the two piles of garbage standing by one of the dorms.

When Sully noticed the pair of jocks across the street, he stopped in his tracks. His eyes narrowed into slits as he recognized them from the incident. He couldn’t remember exactly why things had devolved, but he did remember the biggest jock, Rio, shoving him to the ground while Tweedledee and Tweedledum were among those laughing. Sully was fixing to escalate things further, but speed was his stronger suit rather than strength. Translation: Rio was the Wing Zero’s star football player, and he had the muscles and power to show it. Meanwhile, the lanky Sully was barely 180 lbs. soaking wet. They were going about their day while Sully continued to stare daggers into them.

“You here to talk to the RA and move in?”

Irritation filled his face at having his seethe session interrupted, the young man whipped his head to the source of the noise, a green haired student sitting outside a dormitory. Little by little, Sully's intensity eroded and his cool returned. Sully nodded in response and was just about to ask where he could find Zeta House when the other boy introduced himself as the RA of exactly where he was looking for.

"That is me btw, Nate Kelly Resident Advisor of Zeta House."

“So you’re the mystical Resident Advisor, huh?” Sully inquired, looking past the boy to examine his new abode. “Nice digs. I’m Sully. Sully Price.”

And with that, Sully walked past Nate to let himself into Zeta House. If the outside left Sully impressed, he had yet to give his opinion on the inside. He rotated his vision around the room like a cameraman, appraising his surroundings. Already, he was plotting out where he could place his furniture and other gear around the house. "I could definitely put a recliner over there, maybe a mini work bench in that corner," He thought out loud, making Ls out of his thumb and index fingers and creating a rectangular frame to look through.

Taking a few more steps deeper into the house, Sully paused as a nearby door opened and a somewhat familiar face stepped out of a room. It took a little time to remember his name, but that was definitely Finn Logan, the bubbliest guy he had ever been in the general vicinity of. Sully had never spoken to him before, but he certainly made his presence known with pretty much everyone in the school adoring him. But the boy was so down to earth, it was a total mystery as to how he did it. With how his life plan was shaping out, it was only a matter of time until Sully himself would have all the fame that he desired. In the meantime, the name of the game was dealing with Wing Zero and everything that came with it.

Suddenly, Sully was acutely aware of the fact that he was staring at the other boy while being introspective. Frantically recovering from the weird gesture, the dark-skinned student rubbed his hands together and smirked. "Glad to see we're sharing the same spot. Feel free to bring the cheerleaders around any time!"

Nate followed Sully in, resisting the urge to say something about him being late. Judging by the look on Sully's face when Nate greeted him the guy was in a bad enough mood already and there was no need to annoy him further. Any idea when your furniture gets here? If I'm free I can try and help out with moving it."

Right after Nate asked that the final roommate showed up, he looked somewhat familiar but Nate couldn't place. It seemed Sully knew the newcomer though and his comment about the cheerleaders sparked Nate's memory. He was sure he had seen the blonde as a cheerleader for one of the few sporting events he had been and he believed they might also have had classes at some point. "Nice to meet you, you seen Jet already? Oh and I agree about the cheerleaders. Nate turned to Sully. "I don't wanna rush you but I need to do something in town and we still have to sign the paperwork after the grand tour.

Elsewhere//Another Time//Before//After

The siren blared repeatedly, screaming a warning that (Black) had never had to hear before. To think that something like this could have happened at their own home, their own sanctuary. All around him was smoke and torn walls. He thought he could hear blasts from another Gorenger's laser pistol, but it was hard to make out. His visor was shattered on one side, and he could feel a warm wet spot above his forehead - undoubtedly he was bleeding somewhere inside his helmet. His own ears were ringing. He had to get up, had to protect the others, if he could. He clamored to his feet, dragging his left leg behind him. A piece of shrapnel ran through it from left to right, stabbing his other thigh. He pulled it free as a painful spark emitted out of it - no doubt excess energy from the Grid spilling out from his injuries. He could feel his suit weakening, no doubt the others were all experiencing the same level of energy drain as him. It must be absolutely ravaging the Grid.

He slipped but caught himself alongside the hallway, it's wirings exposed and looking ready to collapse. Ahead the ceiling was torn clean off in a blast. Looking up, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. Gorenger Red - his Mechaframe struggling against an impossible enemy. (Black) was stunned - there was no way. He tried to will himself to move faster, but was thrown aside in a giant ball of smoke and debris as Red's Mechaframe teetered and collapsed, causing a shockwave of explosions. He began to lose consciousness...

---

A streak across the sky.

A flash of light.

Hurtling towards earth, but across a rapidly changing sky. Daylight. Cosmos. Clouds. Fire blazing across an astronomer's tools.

More images.

Gorenger Yellow, impaled on their own weapon.

Gorenger Green, helmet shattered, sprawled across the cockpit of their Mechaframe.

Two swords clashing.

Gorenger Blue, and Pink, surrounded by the enemy. Overtaken.

A desperate gamble.

Are these things to come? Perhaps tonight the world changes

Finn Logan

Finn had just passed through the kitchen on his way out when he heard the familiar sound of a DYNAZAP can cracking open. He turned just in time to see Jet stacking a plate with enough snacks to feed a LAN party for ten.

Finn gave a salute when Jet told him that the RA was outside, and the lack of information about the third roommate. “Duly noted. And be careful with all that DYNAZAP. We wouldn’t want you glowing in the dark.”

He was about to head out, when a new person walked in. Finn squinted for a second before he remembered where he had seen his face before. He was involved in the drama with Rio. He didn’t know Sully personally, but he’d seen enough. Rio shouting. Sully shoving back.

And then…

“Glad to see we’re sharing the same spot. Feel free to bring the cheerleaders around any time!”

Finn blinked, then giggled. “Wow, not even unpacked yet, and you’re already trying to get lucky? Bold move. Should I hang a ‘cheerleaders welcome’ sign on your bedroom door?” He gave a playful shrug. “Too bad most of the others are dating each other.”

Then the RA Nate Jet told him about came in soon after, and asked if he’d seen Jet. Finn gave a little finger-gun. “Yep, just saw him now! Currently one with his command center.”

Then, with a glance toward the door: “Btw, if you need a hand with anything before I head out, just say the word. I was on my way to meet the cheer crew, but I’ve got a few minutes. I lift people for sport. A few boxes can’t be that hard.”

Felix Buchanan

8:19, 8:19, 8:19, there shouldn't be a star there at 8:19 PM. Much less one that's moving like that. Felix stewed as he packed his bag, the trigonometry teacher's closing comments and homework directions only going half-heard. He knew he'd probably regret not paying closer attention later, but right now his brain had more pressing concerns, like stars that didn't make sense. He'd first stumbled across it on accident when charting constellations. A simple task, but something interesting enough to make leaning how to use a telescope at least a little bit fun.

"It's probably just a orbital tug or something executing a burn on a routine schedule... A really precise routine schedule." He muttered to himself as he shouldered his bag and made for the classroom door. A few funny looks and snickers bounced around him at his verbalized thinking but Felix paid them no mind as he headed out, focused on his problem at hand. But it's too precise to be that. And the movement I'm seeing from it is too minimal... Maybe a distant object at the start of an exponential curve? Which would mean what? Errant bits of math ran circles in his head as he walked, gaze down and only half paying attention to where he was going.

Pausing, Felix stretched, trying dislodge the sense of unease that had settled over him. He didn't have any answers, and none of the theories he could could come up with were making him feel any better. Briefly checking his phone, Felix groaned. 3:01. A little more than five hours to kill. "What's the military phrase? Hurry up and wait." He grumbled to himself.

"Oh, yeah? Well, bet they've never met Sully Price yet."

"Nah, my mom hired some movers to help get all my stuff in," Sully turned around to answer Nate with a grin. And of course, being Sully, this was simultaneously an explanation and a flex about his material wealth. "Trust, with how much stuff I have, it would be an all-day affair."

After hearing Nate's need to speed things along for an appointment, Sully nodded in understanding. Looks like they were on the same page. "Fast and quick, just like me! Just tell me where to sign. All I need to know after that is which lucky person is gonna be sharing a room with me, if at all." Hopefully, the answer would be none of the above. Sully had spent years having a room all to himself. There was no telling what kind of chaos could ensue if he was forced to share. It was already going to be jarring enough sharing living space with other people his age. And speaking of other people his age, Finn had just volleyed back his banter with ease.

“Wow, not even unpacked yet, and you’re already trying to get lucky? Bold move. Should I hang a ‘cheerleaders welcome’ sign on your bedroom door?” He gave a playful shrug. “Too bad most of the others are dating each other.”

"Yup, that's how Sully Price rolls. Gotta start early in the year, y'know?" Sully responded. "Anyways, invite the ones who are still available," He then crossed his arms and began mulling over something. "Just tell me one thing, is Colleen Summers...y'know...into girls?"

Colleen had been the centerpiece of Sully's Babe-Board™ since he had started at Wing Zero, the girl who had his romantic attention the most. Of course, he only wanted to make a move when he had enough clout on school grounds, but God willing she was fair game. Or else he would have to move on to Jean Mayfield, and her butt wasn't nearly as cute as Colleen's..

"Fast and quick, just like me! Just tell me where to sign." While it was good to know Sully wouldn't need help moving in Nate was was more relieved to hear he was fine with cutting things short and just signing the paperwork. He took out his phone and brought up the agreement. "It is the usual stuff. You know agreeing to pay damages, no loud music at night, and the rule about not having people stay the night which thankfully absolutely no one enforces." Honestly Nate had no idea why that rule was even still there, everyone, including the professors, knew it was ignored constantly.

He handed over to Sully just as he asked about Colleen Summers. The name didn't ring any bells even if the female cheerleaders were pretty much the only thing he enjoyed about watching sports but decided he might as well try to look up pictures of her later.

He hadn’t been expecting Sully to just casually ask that in front of the RA, no less… but hey, bold moves seemed to be kind of his thing.

Finn raised an eyebrow, his hands sliding to his hips. “Wow. You just went right for that one, huh?” He giggled and shrugged. “I dunno man, she doesn’t exactly broadcast her preferences, and it’s not really my business unless she tells me directly. You could always ask her yourself. Just uh… if you’re planning on making a move, maybe get to know her before asking about her dating preferences. But hey, if you’re chill and not, like, super weird about it, she might actually talk to you. She’s cool. Just… y’know. Confidence is hot, but respect goes a long way.”

He backed toward the door with a smirk. “Anyway, I’m off to meet the rest of the squad. You boys behave yourselves, K?” He gave a wink and a finger gun, and then slipped out.

Well, of all the possible ways Rick could have found himself spending his afternoon/evening, he supposed this wasn't the worst... It also wasn't the greatest, but, he'd settle for 'not bad'.

It was a short and simple story; someone picked a fight with him, and he finished it. Unfortunately, finishing it also made him look like the aggressor, and he was given detention while they figured out what further action to take.

A 'Doctor Luna' had stepped in, and thought some 'volunteer work' at the observatory would at least count towards disciplinary action. For what it was worth, they decided it was good enough, and he was her problem, for now.

As for Rick's problems? Well, he huffed bitterly as he pushed the broom around the lab, giving a disdainful look over his shoulder at the doctor, when her back was turned. He might have appreciated the gesture if it was anyone else- but she knew his father. This was essentially his doing, he was sure of it, so he knew his father was going to hear about it, so soon enough, he'd get the traditional family greeting: "What have you done, now?"

Still, it wasn't so bad... Some of the papers and materials looked, well... Kind of cool, actually. He never thought of himself as a stargazer, but... With everything going on in his life, and the colonization efforts, maybe there's something better for him out there?

"...Speaking of which, I gotta get a haircut soon. It's almost been a week since the last."

Maybe get to know her before asking about her dating preferences? Right yeah, keeping that in mind. Confidence is hot, but respect goes a long way? Makes sense, I gotta--hey wait a minute, why the hell am I taking notes on this guy?! Sully immediately stopped nodding along with Finn's advice and shook his head out of his stupor.

"Thanks for the advice, professor, but I think I know how to handle myself around the lay-deez," He replied, putting emphasis on the word 'ladies'. "All I need to do is drop a couple of pick-up lines and my striking good looks will carry me the rest of the way! I mean, look at me! Six feet tall with perfect chocolate skin and a crispy hairline!" A finger was run across said crispy hairline. "I mean, you gotta admit it yourself--"

Upon returning his focus to the world around him, the self-absorbed Sully finally noticed that Finn had since exited the house. For a moment, he was disappointed at his lack of an audience, but then remembered Nate was still present. And that he was holding his phone with some terms of service agreement. Signing on the dotted lines without sparing a second to go over the rules, Sully handed the green-haired boy his phone back. "Stick by me, you'll learn a thing or two. Trust."

In the silence following Finn's departure, Sully's ears picked up the clicking and clacking of buttons being pressed. "You hearing that?" He asked, unable to wait for an answer before attempting to track the sound with his ears. As his search led him to walking about in a small circle before realizing he was getting nowhere, the young man turned back to Nate. "So, tell me about the other guys here? Am I the last to join?"

Nate agreed with Fin's comment about confidence and respect, he wasn't above looking up pictures online but pick-up lines had never been his thing. It seemed Sully had somewhat different ideas and Nate just shrugged, pick-up lines worked because there were girls who liked them and it was better than Sully giving them the wrong idea about who he was.

Nate was surprised by Finn leaving having had hoped he could let him handle the rest of Sully's tour but he just nodded. "Have fun, man."

Luckily Nate didn't have to wait too long for Sully to finish signing the agreement even offering to help him get some as he handed Nate's phone back. Nate had no intention of taking Sully up on it but took some time to think up a response.

Jet was clearly busy on his computer and his typing got Sully attention. "You hearing that?" Nate jumped on the distraction, happy to change the subject. "That must be Jet, working on his "Command center". His room is this way."

Four Hours Later, just after 7:

With a stomach full of food and a head full of plans, Felix skipped up the steps to the Astronomy building, long legs taking them two at a time. Letting himself in with practiced ease, the lanky young man strode down the empty halls, half humming, half muttering to himself as he went. "...Maybe it's a comet or something? Not like it could be an alien spacecraft, that'd just be ridiculous." Scratching the back of his head in frustration, a little skip entered Felix's step, and he turned 180 mid jump to walk backwards as he mulled the problem over to no avail. "Fuckin' hell, this driving me nuts." He grumbled. Bringing himself to a skidding halt, Felix let the momentum start to topple him over backwards before turning on his heel to walk forwards once again.

Reaching the door to Professor Luna's lab, he went to unlock it only to freeze when he felt the key smoothly turn, the mechanical lock already undone. What the?... She's never here at this hour. Head full of a dozen potential reasons, each one more absurd than the last, Felix carefully opened the door and slipped inside with as little noise as possible. Head on a swivel as he softly padded into the lab proper, the lanky young man came abrupt halt as he spotted a blue-haired stranger idly sweeping the floor. "Uh, hi there? Do you know where the Professor is?" Felix asked hesitantly, as he awkwardly straightened up out of the not quite half crouch he'd been sneaking around in.

And so the newest addition (but not the last) to Zeta House was introduced to the others. Jet took a liking to Sully almost right away, finding his enthusiasm infectious, if not a little "much." Laughs were had among the boys, and the time ticked by. At the same time, heading towards them, was - potentially - the end of their very world.

The time is approximately 8:15 PM.

And as luck would have it, the pieces happened to be perfectly in place. And as it happens, three of Zeta House's newest occupants are about to converge yet again.

Dyna City Shopping District

Nate, needing to run a personal errand, is in the shopping district - he carries with him a large brown bag filled with his purchases. The contents weren't for him, but for his mother. He was troubled, but for reasons he couldn't quite put into words...

Finn was at the opposite end, having just finished a meal with his Cheer Squad friends at DuckBurger. Colleen and Finn both rolled their eyes as Rio attempted to goad one of his jock friends into a shoving match. More of the same.

Sully however just streaked passed Finn and his friends on his own bike, of course he didn't notice as he was completely in "the zone." The lights from his bike streaked across the various reflective surfaces of all the stores, and Sully felt himself grow lighter.

Across Dyna City, were Rick and Felix. The two of them were locked in a discussion around Felix's recent...extra curriculars.....

And out of everyone in Dyna City, it was Felix Buchanan who had the best sense of what was about to happen. Although he couldn't have predicted the true outcome.

Nate was the first to notice. He looked up to see the stars in the sky and took a half step forward and hesitated. One of the stars was brighter than the others, brighter than any star he'd seen in quite some time. He tried to peer deeper into it's bright light, but that was when it started growing bigger.

Not in the sky - but growing closer.

Finn heard Colleen shriek to his left. She dropped what was left of her boba tea and pointed up at the sky. Finn followed her gaze and saw the same thing that the crowds around them had begun to notice. A fireball blazing across the sky. Was it an asteroid? He couldn't tell from this angle, but he thought he saw-

Electricity - or some kind of energy output. Sully saw a crackle of it strike a car ahead of him, sending it sliding and skidding as if the battery was instantly shot. He brought his bike to a skid and a sliding stop, as he could start to hear the shouts of people all around him.

The strange glowing electric discharge was shooting off of the star as it flew towards Dyna City. But instead of a straight trajectory, it sort of moved sporadically, in strange jerking motions as if undecided on where to head.

Felix was sharing his telescope at that exact moment, so it was Rick back at the Wing Zero Labs who saw that the unidentified object seemed to be vibrating, blinking...glitching? He couldn't make sense of it either.

It made it's way through the cities buildings, weaving in and out, and close to the ground. From where he was, Finn could see that it was trailing several objects behind it. But they didn't make sense. A car seemingly in freefall - as if it's gravity was completely off. A street sign, a shopping cart, trash and various debris. Like they were getting pulled along. He also was quick to notice that as the object was heading towards him, it was almost bending and pulling the environment around it. Lights were being bent out of shape as if by a giant magnet. He didn't notice but his friends were already taking off. Colleen attempted to shout to Finn, when suddenly he was ripped into the sky as well, pulled along by the streaking starlight.

Sully saw it coming, tried to race past, but felt his bike begin to lift into the air. He held on tight and lost consciousness as a metal trash can collided with him. However, that racer's spirit deep inside somewhere, refused to let go of the bike....

Nate in the meantime was trying to help. A shop owner and his wife were hanging on tightly to a street light, and he tried to help them. He bounded over, only to be snatched by the pull of the anomaly and thrown for a spin. He managed to grab onto an overpass and hang tight, but one of his shoes was pulled straight off and thrown wild. He hung on as well as he could before he too was caught up in it and pulled away.

---

Nate awakens outside of Dyna City. He feels a gash in his shoulder but just from debris. All around him is a strange site - he's in a field not far from the base of the mountains. Just near the tree line. He struggles to his feet with a groan and sees Finn, hanging upside down from a tree branch. He's conscious, but tied up in a giant banner. He can make out that there is an octopus mascot along the banner and it says "The Best OctoBalls in Dyna City."

In the distance: sirens.

In the middle of the field is a rising pillar of thick smoke. The occasional flash of an electric circuit sputtering.

An unconscious Sully lays alongside his bike, next to a large metallic...something. A shipping container? It's...a ship? But one vastly more technologically advanced than you've seen before.

Nate Kelly

Nate had figured that after he was done with both Sully and the shopping for his mother's birthday presents he would be able to relax, but even with his responsibilities for the day done he was still feeling anxious. What was worse he couldn't adres his issue since he didn't know why he was so on edge. It wasn't because of his new roommates either, none of them seemed like the type he would serious issues with.

Rather than keep worrying about it he tried to relax and looked up at the sky, fully believing that the next step of human development was in space. Unfortunately this had the exact opposite effect as one star seemed way too bright.

It took Nate a second to realize what was wrong with what he saw and he almost misstepped. By that point the "star" had even become noticeably closer, clearly traveling towards Earth at incredible speeds. Of course others had noticed as well by now and panic started to break out. Even worse when it became that the asteroid or whatever it was had been moving slower than Nate imagined but also was a lot closer. Close enough that it was causing damage to the city already.

Nate's first idea was run in the opposite direction of the chaos like so many others but somehow the asteroid was pulling things towards it, including two people hanging onto a street light just a couple of feet away from him. Without thinking about the fact the would be affected the same way he dropped his bag and ran towards them. "I'm coming, hold on!

Of course this didn't work out and before Nate came close enough to his goal to do anything he got lifted up as well. "Oh, crap! To really ruin his rescue attempt he flew past the streetlight, with the people he tried to help now trying to reach for him with one hand each before realizing the pull was too strong that way and pulling their hands back to save themselves. Luckily Nate managed to grab hold of an underpass, not even noticing he lost one of his shoes in all the chaos. "I'm okay, I'm okay. Unfortunately his relief came to soon as Nate was unable to hold on and passed out as he was violently pulled under the underpass.

When he woke up he briefly hoped the whole thing was just a nightmare but since he was somewhere outside the city with a hurt shoulder that hope didn't even last even five seconds. Looking around he saw Finn and staggered towards him", finally noticing his missing shoe. "You just hanging around or do you need help? He joked as he reached for the banner.

Rick Wheeler

After a brief exchange with Felix, Rick decided he wasn't all too concerned with whether or not Felix was even supposed to be there. He didn't seem like he was up to anything like stealing (what was even here to steal, anyway?), and he didn't seem like the thieving type, anyway. This Felix character was there to use a telescope, and was looking for the professor.

"Well, I'm not sure where the prof is, at the moment, but she probably wouldn't mind, anyway." He smirked, "Besides, I don't think anybody would complain about more people wanting to come here... Probably."

Felix had brought their own telescope, and set it up, talking about some 'bizarre phenomena', which was why he'd come to see the professor. "No kidding? Any chance I could take a look?" As Rick leaned down to look, Felix had begun describing, in detail, the strange stellar object. As he caught sight of it, Felix's voice faded until he couldn't hear him anymore...

Weird; Rick felt like... He was floating, like he was out in space with it! It looked like a big machine, and it was in pretty rough shape! It almost looked like some kind of animal!

In a flash, he was suddenly somewhere else, watching a space station or something being torn into by alien craft like sharks with a whale carcass!

Another flash, and he's on the ground again- oh man, did the prof put something weird in his water bottle? He could've sworn he was inside a motorcycle helmet, or something, and his own breathing was pretty loud in his ears. The visor was broken, so he had a pretty clear view of- sweet christmas, it was a warzone! He had a short sword, like a gladius, in hand and his vision dropped onto someone else. They were dressed in some kind of red outfit, with a bleeding wound in their back, crawling away from him as sparks from from his damaged helmet-

And than he came back to reality. Rick was on his back, where they'd set up the telescope, and his head hurt- he figured he must fallen when he saw... Whatever all of that was.

He was panting, and wasn't quite hearing what Felix and Professor Luna were trying to say to him, he simply cut them off, "-What the F#$% was that!?"
