Genevieve feels her chest tighten, frustration flooding her mind and thoughts as he pulls the matchbox from her reach.
She knew that it was a simple item, a way to get light or fire, and willing to have already done what she has to find them, it seems irrational. But now? She desperately wanted them. In her mind, she needed them.

What are they worth? To her they are worth not going insane. To him, they were probably worth whatever he could get out of her. And while Gen wished she could use charm, or something trivial to get her matches back, she figured that wouldn’t work.

The young woman sighs tiredly, her eyes studying the man before her with the light the shine from above deck, “I would reckon that they are worth two shillings.” She says, keeping her voice as soft as possible, regardless of her frustration. Considering she only bought them for one, hopefully he would just agree and give them back for the price

"Two shillings!?" Kenji replies, his tone sharp and surprised, leaving it unclear if he was considering selling or buying the matches after all.
That's quite a bit." he adds softly.

Still holding out and looking at the box, he takes a step, and then another. Soon ducking and weaving the many obstacles on board the ship as he playfully circles Genevieve, always keeping the matches just out of her reach.
He pauses, musing equally upon the box and her offer that still hung heavily in the air, his green eyes finding hers. He gives a small deliberate shake of his head to flick some unruly strands of dark hair from his face before speaking.

"But what is two shillings compared to the fortune we are going to find? Haven't you heard, we are going to be rich." he was so dead-pan about that statement that it was unclear if he was being serious or sarcastic. His eyes however, glimmer with curiosity as they remain fixed on her. Leaving her little time to contemplate on such things, he suddenly tipped the matches out onto the table-like top of a nearby barrel and neatly divided the sticks into two piles. His side noticeably one shorter than hers.
"Why are you here." He thought aloud. The words not really sounding like a question.
He pulls four matches from her small pile and slides them in to the centre.

"When I guess correctly, I keep these matches, but every guess I make costs me a matchstick. Agreed?" He politely await her reply, a flicker of a challenge in his eye and a daring smirk on his lips.

For a moment. A brief moment. Genevieve believed in her naive mind that with Kenjis reaction to her offer, that he would accept and she could get her matches back. Honestly, the young doctor knew that they probably didn’t have very long until they needed to go get supplies. She was running low on thread for stitching and at this point it became tedious to repeat herself to the crew about being more careful with how large the gashes were.

Of course, her opinion on the matter didn’t matter. It’s not like she is the doctor or anything.

She snaps back to reality from her thoughts though, when she sees him pour her matches out and divide them up, her heart dropping and her breath hitching. What was he doing?
She got her answer pretty quickly.

This was…ridiculous. A challenge? Her eyes find him, and she works to keep her face neutral. Gen sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose, “Fine.” She manages before looking back up, “Agreed.”

Ishaan had slowly been making his way through the ship. As the quartermaster he had been told by Taylor who to keep on the ship and who to send off. The list of who to get off the ship was far larger than those who were to stick around. The old Indian man had volunteered to stay behind on the ship to make sure those that were left didn't attempt to run off with the ship. He could hear talking as he rounded a corner finding both the doctor and the medic lollygagging.

He released a sharp cough announcing his presence as he walked into the light of the lantern that illuminated the room.

"Mr. Takeda..." He spoke calmly as his brown eyes drifted over to Genevieve. "Miss Perez...."

His eyes drifted to the firesticks on the table. Ishaan had overheard most of the conversation as most of the crew had left by this point save for the final rowboat that was going to shore. He leaned down on the table as with a slow hand and pulling his rank he gathered up all the firesticks and the box.

"Mayhaps you have both not heard the captain, but we are here in Nassau. Both of you go get the supplies you need."

Ishaan straightened his back as he looked towards KenJi.

"You are dismissed Mr. Takeda." The old man turned away from him expecting his word to be law as he turned towards the much more timid in comparison Genevieve.

"As for you young miss. A word...."

Motherfucking dammit. Gen knew that this would happen, or something similar. She has talked with Ishaan in very limited occasions, just as she had with the rest of the crew.
In her mind, if she stayed in her medical bay, doing her job, she wouldn’t figuratively rock the boat, and life would be just grand.

And yet. As she heard a cough, looking over only to see Ishaan, her eyes widening slightly as he took the matches, she realizes that rocking the boat seemed imperative to living. Unavoidable.
And why did he want to speak with her privately?! Come on, it seemed…well she didn’t know quite how it seemed, but it made her head feel hot and cold all at the same time.

Her eyes move to Kenji, narrowing slightly. Yeah…she had a feeling that just staying in the med bay and not talking with anyone wouldn’t last long.

Genevieve turns back to Ishaan, nodding once and standing to go to his side. His tone didn’t give off any threatening tones, and his eyes didn’t seem angry. Nonetheless, she wished that she could sink into the ocean without a second thought, meld into the barnacle ridden wood of the ship.

“Sir?” She asks, trying to keep her eyes straight on his as a sign of respect. What could he want with her? She tried to silence her thoughts, finding them to be of no help.

With his eyes alone Kenji portray his disapproval of Ishaan's manner and interruption, but he stilled his tongue.
'If you fight every insult, you will never live long enough to face the real enemy.'

"I am not the ships cook nor carpenter, I have no need of supplies other than a sharp blade."

He explain as politely as he could while resting his hand upon the hilt of his sword, a gentle reminder.

"Neither do I have any desire to spend my coin or dull my senses on bottle or wench." he added, looking over to Genevieve, thinking of how most the others would be using their shore leave.

"But if the good doctor is in need of supplies, I shall accompany her and ensure her task is met unhindered."

With his unnatural cat like steps he glided across the floor, the wood barely making a creak at his passing. From in the draw of his low table he pulled out three slender black sharp spikes and hid them in his clothing. He then turn his attention back to Ishaan.

"I assume you alone will be protecting our ship? We must be careful, I hear there are pirates around here."
It was only partially a joke...
he really didn't want to lose the ship already.

After quickly gathering a few more things he was ready. "I'll wait for you above deck." he promised Genevieve before disappearing up the ladder, giving Ishaan his privacy.

Location: Aboard the Gunpowder Storm

Edric had volunteered to stay aboard. There was always work to be done, and it wouldn’t get done swilling the pisswater that the local taverns or wenchhouses suffered upon their patrons. Not that he didn’t enjoy a pint, gods knew he had, but time on land could soften a man when he wasn’t looking. One drink became two, two turned to dice or worse, and soon the whole evening slipped away. He didn’t begrudge the crew their pleasures. But for him, the quiet was its own reward. Besides, ships didn’t rest, not really. Not even in dock.

He started forward along his usual route, a loop he had walked more times than he could count. It wasn’t written down, but it was there all the same. Start at the fo’c’sle, check the rigging coils by the windlass, then move down along the starboard rail. Midships, pause, watch, listen. A ship talks if you let it, you just have to know how to hear her.

The ropes were too loose again. He knelt beside the pile, hands moving with quiet precision, no grumbling, no muttering, just the steady pull and tuck of a man who’d done it a thousand times before. The lines coiled tighter now, neater. Done right. He let his fingers trail the rope a moment longer than needed and felt the oil, the wear. Not bad quality, not great either. He made a note of that.

Next came the railings, especially where the crew leaned too often, rough fingers left splinters. A fraying gasket drew his eye. He crouched low again, blade flashing for a moment in the dull light before cleanly slicing the binding free. From a pouch at his hip, he pulled a new cord, tied it, and tugged it tight.

Onward. He passed the hatch down to the hold and pressed his palm to the wood. It was solid but the hinge… he knelt again and ran his thumb through the grit and rust gathering there. Salt and time, the Silent killers. He made a note to oil it later.

The sweep wasn’t about urgency, it was about rhythm, repetition, and comfort. A ship was too big to hold in your head all at once, but if you walked her long enough, listened to her, you’d feel it when something was off.

He paused amidships. That was always where he stopped, like a heartbeat between steps. He let his hand rest on the mainmast, fingers splayed. She didn’t speak in words, but Edric swore he could hear something when it was quiet enough. Not voices, or ghosts, Just… the ship, breathing, waiting.

He exhaled through his nose and kept going. The port rail. The cannon mounts. He nudged each, letting his boot do the talking. Solid, but the boards beneath… he crouched, ran a hand along the grain. Still some soot, and the fastenings? Loose. Danneil would get to them, sure, but if he didn’t, Edric would. That was the rule. You didn’t leave things half-done. You didn’t assume someone else would do it. Not if you wanted to keep the sea on the other side of the hull.

He moved again, past the galley hatch, then the quarterdeck steps, and finally the wheel. All part of the loop. All steps in a dance only he deemed to remember.

At the stern, where the wind hit clean off the water, Edric laid a hand on the railing and stared out at the harbor’s edge. Sunlight glinted on the sea like shattered gold, it was peaceful, almost too much so. He'd never liked Nassau. Too many soft hands, too many loud mouths, but a ship in port was still a ship, and this one still had her shape.

He didn’t say a word. Just stood there, listening. The ship wasn’t quiet, not really. She whispered as she shifted, as she waited. She always did.

Sooner than she expected, the ship got to Nassau and the intense moving and organising started. Bridget could see everyone moving around, most of her shipmates trying to get out of the ship as soon as possible, the need to get out and fool around in a place as famous as this one making them reckless. She shook her head, as some of the man almost jumped out of the ship, laughter signaling where they were, being easily heard before seen.

Even if she didn't want to admit it, trying to keep her cool and serious appearence to the others, she was almost as excited to go into town as the others were. Even if she had been travelling in the Gunpowder Storm for some time now, they had been stopping in smaller places, smaller villages or some cities that she already knew, but she had never been to the famous Nassau. As everything calmed down, she started to get down, ready to get into the music and noise of the place. She was planning to try and gather the resources she needed for cooking, as it was her task, and arrange for some porters to get everything on the ship as she discovered the village.

She boarded one of the jolly boats, with a few of the others. There was some charged silence, everyone focused on their tasks and, more importantly, what to do after them. As they jumped out, Bridget was going to start exploring the place before she heard a voice. Unused to having people talk to her - apart from asking her to cook one thing or the other, of course - she turned, surprised. It was the cartographer, a girl that looked around her age, and maybe even from a similar upbringing. She'd seen her around before, but never really had any conversation. She looked at her, trying to guess what she was trying to do, but still smiled politely at her. She was educated to be nice and polite to everyone, after all. A smile and some charisma open more doors than any other key, her father would say.

"Oh, hi" she started, waiting for a second to let the other girl join her. At the offer, she looked at the buildings in the coast, seeing how busy the place was and counting the time she had in her head. If she got lost doing her tasks, she wouldn't have enough time to properly enjoy the place, not even for a drink, before she had to get back. And Bridget loved the ship, but she clearly preferred to enjoy the new place when she could. And a drink, a proper drink, that was the most important part. "Actually, no, I've never been to Nassau before. I have to go get some food and other resources for the kitchen, but I'd love to get a drink. About time to have something different for a change" she said, shrugging. "Do you mind showing me where can I go shop what I need? That would be faster, and give us more time at the tavern"

Ishaan smiled at the subtle threat but paid it no real heed. It was best not to antagonize the man who handled the blade when injuries were a common occurrence of life. He took a few puffs from his pipe as he watched Kenji move about and offering his question about if he was going to guard the ship.

"Aye, I will be guarding the ship but fear not. Taylor has more brains than to leave such a big job solely to an old dog."

As he left, Ishaan's eyes focused on the young lady in front of him. She was standing in front of his waiting his words. A small sigh escaped Ishaan's lips as he pulled the box of firesticks from his coat pocket and extended his hand towards her.

"I suggest you be much more careful with your possessions." He exhaled some smoke as the end of his pipe glowed red as he inhaled.

"Especially if you are the owner of something expensive. We are pirates after all young lass."

Once the box left his hand, he dismissed her with a small smile on his face and a nod of his head as he headed back up to the dock going a different route. As Ishaan crossed into the sunlight, he made himself comfortable on a barrel and overlooked the skeleton crew. He could see Edric amongst the other handful of others that were left aboard.

After a moment of contemplation, he got on his feet and hollered out the remaining crew.

"Alright lads! The Cap'n and the first mate might be gone, and you're stuck with old Ishaan. Once you scallywags are done with your break get back to work!" He roared with laughter feeling pleased with himself as he took a bite from a crispy apple that he fished out from his shirt.

"Well, I am not much of a cook myself, but I do know places we can go" Isabella replied with a smirk and guided Bridget towards the infamous city of Nassau.
Some considered the place a rat nest while others such as Blackbeard saw in Nassau the dream of a Republic, such idea was no secret and many pirates were bewtiched by the promesses of gold and self-governance, Isabella on the other hand just wondered how long they could get away with this before Nassau gets attacked again, neither the british nor the spanish empires were happy with it's existence.

As they advanced into the small city the smell of tobacco became stronger and more people started to show up, soon the two pirates were surrounded by a multicultural crowd, most of the people there was british but people from other countries arrived to the island with the idea of making business or...piracy. "Keep an eye on your coin, you never know when someone may try something stupid" Isabella warned the other girl.

Not before long they reached a street butcher shop, the stand was filled mostly with pork and chicken. "It does seem fresh..." Isabella muttered to Bridget, the old man who owned the place didn't hear a thing due to the people passing by. While the scottiish checked on the raw meat and talked to the man the spaniard looked around, guarding just in case some fool tried to steal from them

He had not gone with the majority of the crew, into Nasaau. There had been work to do aboard ship. There was always work to do. And the absence of crew for a day meant that some of the more difficult tasks to accomplish, could be seen to while the ship was comparatively quiet. A stairwell from the main deck to the cannon deck had been on Danneil's agenda for weeks, but it was so heavily trafficked on the daily, that he couldn't have got to it. But today was the day. By noontime, he had the treads removed, and the rotten stringer out. By mid afternoon he had reinstalled everything, better than new. He went up on deck, first to walk the new stair. Satisfied with his work, Danneil lit a pipe and bought himself a few minutes to look out over Nassau, before heading back down to the Orlop, collecting more planks and replacing a few that had caught his eye on the cannon deck. A bigger job, this -- moving anything on the cannon deck was difficult, heavy, and if he got it wrong, subject to a lashing from the master-at-arms. He enlisted a couple of swabbies to help with the moving of heavy gear in order to accomplish his task, and again to move the pieces back after he had done.

After darkness descended, he spent time in his shop, working on 'the stump.' It was fine work, and took patience and determination. But it was a labour of love, and he would accept nothing less than perfection...

"Well, I sure hope so, or someday I'll end up dropped in some island" she joked with the other girl, smirking back at her. In all her time in the ship, Bridget had been more of an observer than a real shipmate, her own mistrust stopping her from really getting to know the others, while she kept an image of a serious and cold young girl. She was somewhat getting tired of that, and this surprising approach of the cartographer could be a way to insert herself into the life of their ship.

The city surely felt completely different from what she was used to: dirty streets, worse looking pirates, and a tobacco smell that could easily get the people not used to it to get dizzy. Getting to the crowded place, she grabbed her purse, taking special care of the coin the captain gave her for her task, nodding to awknowledge what Isabella said to her.

Soon they were in what looked like the shopping district, shops offering the most interesting varieties and treasures, both legal and illegal objects occupying the different tables of vendors. Walking some more, it turned into a proper market, the meat being their first stop. Bridget analysed the little shop, the produce there, thinking quickly how much would they need for their trip, and what would be better to use. The best idea would be to get some chicken, taking the complete animal, and cleaning it herself to use as much as possible. Vegetables an fruits were easy to find in their stops, but meat was harder to come by, so this was a good time to get some. She got a few chickens, and some salted pork to keep for longer.

"Not that much, but doesn't look any better there" she muttered back to the girl as she bought everything. "I'll have to work soon and get some basic things done, but it's good enough, and pretty cheap" she started walking to the next vendor, one with different preserves and some vegetables. Probably that could be the place to get everything else. She bought some basic ingredients, mainly salt, spices and basic relishes and some jams, useful to give flavour to the basic diet they have on the ship.

After arranging everything to get delivered to the ship, she finally turned to the spaniard. "So... that should be everything for now. Now it's finally time to get to a tavern. Or do you need to buy something for your maps?"

Getting what the cook needed for the ship took less than Isabella excpected, she was not much a cook herself so she had no idea how many supplies, and how long, it would take get eerything ready. What worried the spaniard the most was the idea of having to carry everything to the ship herself, she was relieved when she heard Bridget arranged to get everything delivered to the ship.

Bridget mentioned she would have to return and start cooking soon, the idea of asking the scottish to teach her cook spun around Isabella's mind for a while but was quite embarrassed to ask so. Then the cook asked if Isabella needed to buy something "I have everything I need at the ship, let's drink" She smirked and led Bridget through the crowded streets until they reached a building made mostly of stone, which stood out among the rest due to it's white painted walls. The place contrasted against the color of the wooden planks used on the other buildings, after all it needed to be showy in order to get costumers.

"Finally, the "Dried bones tavern". I hope they have some wine, I'm tired of the rum" Isabella commented to the cook as they passed through a bunch of people standing by the rotting door also painted white.

The interior gloomy despite the bright soon outside, and was filled with the lowest characters society could offer: pirates, just like them, and wenches doing what they knew best: getting money from drunk and lonely men.

By mere luck the females found an empty table and the spaniard watched a female walking upstairs in company of a pirate, "I suggest you not going to the second floor, unless you want to be confused with one of the women working here" She joked before she made a hand signal to one of the men attending the bar. "I will have some wine" she told the him, then looked at Bridget "What about you?"

Tylor walked out of his cabin once most of the crew had already left for Nassau. He watched the pirate city with incertitude, he could not take Blackbeard's idea out of his mind, then he noticed there was still some men working on the ship, so he returned to his cabin and came out once more, this time with a bottle of rum and a few mugs to share with those present, he placed the drink onto a barrel and poured some of the alcohol on every mug. He needed his officials to trust him on what was about to come.

Genevieve watches the interaction, her chest tightening anxiously. Although, why did Kenji look at her when he said that? And did she really have to go with him to get her supplies? Maybe he would help, maybe it was just this interaction… whatever the case, apparently she was going with him thoigh.

Gen’s eyes widen slightly when Ishaan takes out her matches. She didn’t expect that, honestly part of her thought that she would be kicked off, or something harsh for distracting ship members.
But, as he extends his hand, she exhales softly, her eyes finding her matches in his hand. He was…giving them back? Why? She supposed it was silly to ask why, and she certainly wasn’t going to voice her question.
No, she would play this safe.
Her hand goes to take the matches, holding the box so tight her knuckles nearly turn white. “Thank you.” She says, nodding her head to him in acknowledgment of what he advised. Yeah there was not a chance she was leaving them exposed again.

Once she is dismissed, she nods again, going up to the deck swiftly. She didn’t know why he gave them back, it was kind…she sighs. Right now she needs to focus on going into town and getting supplies. With Kenji…ugh.
As the salty breeze hits her face, her hair blowing into her eyes slightly, she relaxes. She loves this. Being free. At least, far more free than she was before at least.

Gen lets her eyes wander the ship, the sun making them look a kind of amber color. Once she spots Kenji, she huffs softly, shoving her matches in the back she kept across her back along with her money. She walks over, “You are not obligated to accompany me.” She says, putting it out there. She didn’t know yet if she actually minded or not, but she did know that she didn’t want anyone to feel forced to go anywhere with her.

Kenji was standing at the ship's rail, leaning against the solid wooden barrier with both hands, an air of tranquility around him as face out towards the vast rolling ocean, into the incoming sea breeze. He did not turn or even open his eyes as Genevieve approached.
"Thank you, but I am, by my own word. Besides, I am not wanted here and regardless, it is a good idea to ensure the right supplies make it back to the boat."

He turned away from the salty mist and faced her with a smile, eyes finding hers as loose strands of hair came free and fluttered around over his face. It was in the tone of his slightly broken accent that he seemed to hold a measure of doubt. Doubt of her skill perhaps, of her practice, of her methods or maybe just her knowledge. It could be due to her age, gender or upbringings. If there was doubt, he didn't expressly voice it.

"Well, shall we begin?"
He gestured towards the rowboats adding a faint nod.
"Ladies first."

Before he could follow, Kenji was forced to step aside quickly as two burly sailors hurled a full barrel of slop water overboard. It hit the ocean with a loud splash and then they refused to move while they caught back their breath. Shuffling around them he made his way follow Genevieve as promised.

The right…the right supplies?! Oh this little fucking-what kind of…no. No no, it’s not even a big deal, she is over reacting… connasse.
Genevieve forces a smile to stretch across her face, not needing to rock the boat anymore.

“Fine.”
She manages, nodding once to him, but as two larger crew member push past them, she gasps softly, moving out of the way, her eyes a bit wide. You would think she would be used to such fast paced interactions by now, but practically living in a cellar her whole life, her mind feels to slow when connecting with her nerves and muscles to move outta the damned way.

Either way, she did.
“Right.”
She mumbles, looking out to the town as she steps down onto the dock.

“We need to find a store that has any form of medical supplies.” She says, mainly as a vocal train of thought to herself.

Thankfully, the shopping time was done quickly, everything arraged to get to the ship tomorrow morning for a reasonable fee, and the light was still shining, giving the two girls more than enough time to enjoy some freedom on land before getting back. Even if Bridget loved travelling and living on a ship, she still enjoyed moments like this, discovering a new place and having some drinks that were not rum.

She followed the cartographer through crowded streets, pirates and merchants moving around and shouting, a fight for attention. They walked next to lots of small wooden cabins, looking wet and sloppy, as was usual in this kind of village. But soon a bigger building got the Scottish' attention, a building made of stone and painted in a bright white, even though it would need some fresh painting soon.

Inside, there was more than enough people to compete with the crowded streets. Gloomy and dark, this was just the kind of place Bridget's father only visited when making very specific business: illegal. He never showed her places like this one, leaving her at the ship in charge of others, but a few times she was able to escape and follow him around. One time he caught her, teaching her just another lesson. Money doesn't really understand about honor or law, honey. It's a game with flexible rules, and cheating is allowed as long as you are clever enough not to mess it up. Probably his wisest words.

"Oh, better not" she answered, sitting at the table and ignoring the drunken singing of a group further by the corner. "Wouldn't want to get kicked out of the place for throwing a man down the stairs". She turned slightly, watching what the other people were drinking, and trying to guess if something would be good for her taste. But anything was better than watered down rum again. "I guess I'll try the wine too. "

Before disembarking, Kenji was sure to study the other ships in the harbour. It always paid to know who you might run into. Beyond Blackbeard's unmistakable vessel, nothing else really compared or raised any alarms. He wondered, would the notorious pirates presence here mean that the town would be more or less behaved...

-

Kenji stumbled a bit as he takes his first steps upon Nassau. Hands clasped behind his back, he deliberately kept his movements slow and steady as he reacquainted his legs to still solid land. It had been some time since he felt the earth beneath them.
Only now he started to feel grateful for being chased off the ship. He glanced back at it briefly before turning his gaze onto the hustle and bustle that was all around them.
He took a moment to familiarise himself with the sights and sounds, getting his bearings and committing landmarks to memory before finally facing the good doctor and giving her a wide smile.

"Yes we do." He said unhelpfully. Watching her to see what she might do next. She did say she didn't need his help after all.
This would be a good test for the would-be-pirate. There was bound to be an apothecary in town, if not nearby. Alternatively if they were lucky they might find a smuggler selling a complete kit from a pirated navy ship.

It was then that not too far away, in a wide open street, a knot of people had quickly formed along with the unmistakable shouting, cheering and creative cursing that always accompanied an impromptu fist fight. Even from their distance Kenji could hear the bartering and betting beginning. People always keen to make a coin off anything, even another's disagreements.

"Sounds like someone might need your services soon, shall we go make sure it is not one of our own?" Although his interest was veiled as altruistic, in fact it was a secret guilty pleasure of his to watch and study any and all forms of martial combat.

He began to move towards the growing rowdy crowd, not waiting for the doctors reply.

Ishaan took measured steps as he moved about the innards of the ship finally reaching the doorway. He could hear the scrapping of wood that told him he was in the right place. The old man would have been angry if he had come this way to find an empty room. He silently leaned against the doorframe as he watched the carpenter work. He smirked as he recalled when they had first gotten Danneil. The whip scarred man. He had offered his services, and Taylor had willingly accepted him despite having no real evidence at the time of his skill.

Then again Ishaan was only here because he beat the captain in a game of cards so could he really judge all that hard? As he continued to observe he frowned. Having come from India himself he was all too familiar with its caste system and how many of his own people were treated no better than the man right in front of him. It was no wonder Ishaan had escaped as soon as he could to the open sea. To a freedom he had yearned for but never quite knew till he was on a ship.

The old man coughed lightly as he got Danneil's attention.

"I hate to interrupt a working man....but...."

Ishaan flashed a toothy grin as he showcased the bottle of rum in his left hand.

"I think it's time you took a break lad, before you work those hands down to the bone."

Genevieve watches in slight concealed amusement as he surveys the land. She can almost see gears turning in his head. She nearly voices that amusement when he is slowly making his way to land. Well, she thought it was funny until she stumbled. Damn, sea legs…it’s not a joke.
At his words, the young women fights the urge to roll her eyes. “You’re a helpful one.” She says in a deadpanned voice.

Gen once again checks to be sure that her matches and coin are secure on her person, then she begins walking, her eyes roaming around the buildings and the street. She doesn’t need a market, what she need would be most likely on the main street, somewhere near other small shops. She doesn’t look to anyone, never having been one for awkward passing smiles or greetings.

She seemed to drown out noise, occasionally, mindlessly, looking to Kenji as she listens to the small wave of blood her ear rushing in her ears, her heartbeat seeming louder as she focused.
Although, she is snapped from her thoughts at Kenjis words, the sound of fighting now prominent.

“Wait, Takeda-“ and there he goes. Dammit.

Genevieve sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose. She could leave…but technically, he was right. Annoyingly so.
The dark haired woman looks back up, following him through the crowd, the noise of cheers and curses flesh hitting flesh in a brutish manner, it was all so…loud. She was used to things beings loud, but now people pushed against her, trying to see better, just as she was, and in an instance, she lost sight of Kenji.

“Bon sang…” she mutter a curse in French before calling out, “Takeda!” Trying to grasp where he was
