His parents gave him love and care, he scored well in school, even his diagnosis as 'not quite normal' by his childhood therapist didn't faze him much; he just played to an invisible script, and friends came to him. Everything was warm. Everything was friendly. Everything was light and hope and dreams. Shotaro lost everything. His parents went off on a business trip abroad, leaving him in the care of a trusted neighbor. The next thing he knew, he was watching footage of a plane crash, anxiously waiting for news of their survival on the television. There was no such news, only ashes and a funeral, where, among the white flowers, he received his relatives' assurances of support and shared grief. He believed them; he was just a kid! One of his Uncles took him from his neighbor over the latter's vociferous objections. That Uncle took him to Hiroshima, promising to keep him safe and happy. This was true, as Shotaro received a lot of toys and books, and video games - His Uncle must be loaded, to be able to afford those while working only from home! Now, Shotaro is happy, maybe a little spoiled, but he has new classes, new friends, and new clubs. Maybe he'll study to be an entrepreneur like his parents; start a start-up! His Uncle can pay for that, right? One day, he'll ask his Uncle for money to do that. But for now, time to keep having fun. ...It is a shame that, thanks to his Uncle, his trust fund is almost dry; there was no job that man was working from home in. He had quit that to live off his nephew's inheritance. Anyone. Any attention is good attention, and she'll act out until she gets it. Incredibly impulsive, and neglected enough to make it everyone's problem, especially her own. Age: 17 Fate: The Chariot Trope: The Delinquent Awakened Weapon: [LOCKED] Elemental Affinity: [LOCKED] | C H A R A C T E R B I O G R A P H Y C H A R A C T E R B I O G R A P H Y Ryuuko was doomed to be a problem child before she was even aware. Born to a Igarashi Keiichi, a salaryman and an Igarashi Junko, an OL, she was barely six months old when her father discovered that her mother was having an affair. When he confronted her, she just...left. Abandoned her husband and infant child, went off to marry the man she was cheating with. Keiichi was...unhappy. And who wouldn't be? Another year passed, then two. And right when Ryuuko was starting to form memories, he finally remarried: the newly-renamed Igarashi Arisa. And clearly, being a loving father and mother were not in the cards now. And so, Ryuuko grew up alone. She was never abused, at least not physically. But any attempt she made at squeezing any affection out of her parents was met with cold indifference. And so she became cold. And then everything changed one day, during parent visitation day in elementary school. Her father did show up. But only out of obligation. And she desperately wished he hadn't in the end, because suddenly meeting his stare was... ...Yoshioka Junko. Her father left soon after. But after watching the death flying from her father's gaze, she recognized the woman. Knew her from pictures that were gone now. This was...this was her mom. Her real mom. ...And she'd never wanted her. Instead she was there to visit her new daughter. Minami, a bit of a teacher's pet but relatively unremarkable. Until now, at least. Now it was all that Ryuuko could to to look at the girl without screaming at her. She knew that Minami hadn't done anything wrong. It wasn't a choice she'd made. She couldn't choose the circumstances of her birth, any more than Ryuuko could choose her childhood. ...But still, she couldn't help but feel like Minami had stolen her life. And once she made it to middle school and started growing up, it got so much worse, so fast. All the hormones churning in her brain, the continued neglect of her father and stepmother, occasionally seeing Minami now and then, it all conspired to make her blood just boil constantly. She started skipping school. Getting into fights. Staying out too late at night. Doing stupid shit, acting out so that someone would take notice of her, even if it was to yell at her. She didn't have any friends, not really; she drove most people away with her shitty attitude and aggressive personality. Really, it's a miracle that she managed to make it into high school at all. She stopped provoking stupid losing fights and getting beaten up all the time. She stopped going to dangerous places that she really had no business being in. She started attending school more. She never stopped acting out, not really. She was still aggressive and angry, getting up into other students' faces, mouthing off to teachers, occasionally playing hooky, and still getting in fights and coming home with a new collection of bruises every so often. But it got a bit less destructive, even if her image and reputation didn't much change. She started getting more moderate around her unwitting half-sister too. She still didn't like her. Still nursed that private anger of feeling like her life had been stolen. But oddly enough, there was a bizarre protectiveness that emerged beneath them. She didn't like Minami. She would never like Minami. She was still cold to her, still had to hold herself back from doing something stupid. But she also would keep a keen eye out, and if anybody hurt Minami, then, well. Even if she got into fewer fights now, Ryuuko still knew how to throw a damn hard punch. Praise the fool the majesty of god is indisputable...
Anyways this looks pretty cool might thrown a sheet later.
I have to ask if there will be a discord server or will we use the forum for most OOC stuff?
<Snipped quote by TimelessParagon>
Will most likely just hold a groupchat on discord of some kind. Though, I will be transparent that "Genki" is the only role I really need at the moment and the one that will have competition for the role. Everyone else, which you can call nepotism or favortism, has come to me days before with their pitches and are people I trust to be active participants. Right now I am just filling out roles.
Well, the idea that immediately sprung in mind isn't currently in the pregen, so ey, maybe I'll toss something in. RP load's been kinda light anyhow.

Something that he doesn't talk about. Something bad. Something that maybe he shouldn't have survived. Since then, he's just been waiting for the other shoe to drop. _________________________________________________________And it will drop. He can feel it. If he's lucky it will be on his terms when it does. Until then, he's making the most of his life. Or, perhaps, testing the limits of his borrowed time. Kazuo knew as soon as he'd said it that it had been a mistake. His grandparents looked mortified and his father had gone green in the face. He was scolded for his words, too young then not to think he was being scolded for the thought itself. He didn't say it again, but keeping it to himself did not erase the feeling, nor the learned shame that accompanied it. It was hard trying to process his own feelings and those of others in the aftermath. There was an appropriate level of sadness and grief; showing too much or too little was a cause for concern, and the level changed when who it was being shown to was taken into consideration. There were suddenly a lot more people in his life too, many more than what he'd lost. It was exhausting, keeping track of the tangle of friends, neighbors, family, and professionals - learning what to say to whom and when to say it. It was suffocating, feeling eyes on him all the time, trying to gauge how okay he was or looking at him with a new air of wariness when his dark hair began to pale. He knew he messed up more than once, but he was getting older, better at reading people, at deducing what they wanted to hear and telling it to them. That was why he was pretty sure he wasn't imagining what everyone, from those that whispered he was unlucky to even his father, expected of him. He didn't want to be made to carry sorrow around for the rest of his life, but he could pretend. He was getting pretty good at it—and it would only get easier. Kazuo didn't like living in Hiroshima. He much preferred the quieter Tottori, the modest house and happy family he had in that town, but... well. He knew they could never go back there. Even if his dad hadn't said as much when they first moved, he knew. The man had said a change would be good for him, but honestly Kazuo thought it was more for his dad's own sake than anything else. Regardless, he was no longer surrounded by so many people that looked at him with expectation or pity. Hashiguchi High wasn't all bad, there were new people and new patterns to learn, but he was more equipped to deal with it. Now, instead of undoing a tangled mess of threads, he maintained a curated web of relationships in his new setting. As a transfer student in his first year, especially a good looking one, his peers had been quick to flock to him. On top of that he was smart and athletic, with an endearingly nurturing side as evidenced by his participation in the school's gardening club. Kazuo had learned how to make himself superficially easy to talk to a long time ago and yet he was not above joining in on some mean-spirited teasing, both of which helped cement his status in the school's hierarchy by his second year. Learning how to keep in someone's good graces meant he could just as easily get under their skin, and if he had to tear others down to build himself up, he would. There were a lot of benefits to keeping himself well liked, after all, and he'd ended up with a lot of people that seemed to like him. More than anything though it was his apparent fearlessness that earned the respect of his classmates. In social matters and physical challenges both, Kazuo never backed down. He took on any and every class dare and performed increasingly risky stunts. He did it for himself, not them; looking cool in front of his peers was really just a fortunate side-effect. Kazuo liked when pulling breath was a little achy, needed to hear his own pulse pound in his ears, all so that he could prove something unspoken to himself. He knew it was only a matter of time before something happened again. Before some part of him he was supposed to pretend wasn't there showed through, or he lost track of who to be and when. It was a matter of time, but it wasn't now. Right now he's subbing in one of Hashiguchi's sports teams and gently letting a girl who'd asked him out down. Right now he's leaping into rivers and growing hyacinths in the school's garden. Right now he's pushing down guilt and enjoying his life as Hashiguchi's fearless star. ...and if his hands still trembled at every peal of thunder, if his heart trembled at the thought of staring into the flame in his memory, remaining stuck between never rebuilding and moving on... that was no one's business but his own.
