Finally I'm off work - sorry for my late reply, it looks like work has been kicking a lot of our asses recently!
I've finally got time to catch up on everything and get my next post up. Looking forward to reading what everyone's got! If anyone wants to work on a collab please hit me up I think I'll actually have the brain capacity to write from now on
@mickilennial Would you mind me making reference to Sims and Thomas having probably come to blows in the past? Pretty much writing my next post for Shazam and fleshing out Sims' limited time as a hero, and being that they are both older heroes.
It's not going to be anything too detailed, probably just a "I met a few creepy cooks in my time. Some nutball in Gotham dressed as a bat that i stopped from killing some mook. Broke 3 of my ribs and a finger while i was at it."
@ThatDeercat With S.W.O.R.D. and ARGOS fighting over High Evolutionary's ship that Star stole, i need to ask. Is High Evolutionary on an Overt or Covert mad-science romp in this universe? Like, is this the "Sneaky, kidnapping people, wiping out planets at lighting fast pace so nobody can know it's him doing it." Or is this the "Blowing up planets and not caring who see's, and if anyone complains, they get the privilege of going on the Vivisection Slab."
Pretty much, is Sinestro likely to know about High Evolutionary?
I would say he’s not exactly hiding or being sneaky about it, but he is careful and calculated about every choice he makes and how he goes about getting what he wants. So far I’ve established he’s got connections to (at the very least) War World, the Gordanians, and the Psions for sure. He’s also mostly operating in and around the Vega system at the moment so he doesn’t have to contend with any major “law enforcement” type of hurdles (canonically the Green Lanterns aren’t even allowed in the Vega System, so I kinda just operated on that same assumption with the lanterns here).
He wants Koriand’r back so it’s not unlikely he’s started making some more noise while he tries to track her down.
@ThatDeercat So, would it be safe to say he's more something of a rumour out in the galaxy then? "The High Evolutionary, he steals the people, the planets, everything and you're never seen again!" kind of ghost story type stuff. I do want to interact properly, make the world feel bigger, but i also want to get it right.
Unrelatedly, @King Kindred tricked me into fleshing out a whole concept for a version of Asgardian/Wiccan. Before I work on a CS, does anyone have any qualms with introducing him in the universe?

He is stronger, faster, more durable, and quicker to react. He even heals faster than humans and even some meta-humans. ◼ Innate Chaos Magic By nature of his parentage, Vilhelm was born with an innate ability to use chaos magic. He doesn’t rely on traditional spells or casting methods, instead tapping into his power through improvised incantation that usually amount to stating what he wishes to occur, or by careful concentration and focus on his intended outcome. Over the years, he has learned to harness his power to allow him to reshape matter, invoke elemental powers, use telekinesis and telepathy, fly, teleport, create pocket dimensions, and more. Although lacking any formal magical training, Vilhelm has honed his skills through a scientific approach to understanding the universe. -

The only person he can’t fool is his mother. ◼ Heart of Gold Despite Loki’s mythological reputation, Vilhelm doesn’t follow in the trickster god’s footsteps. At his core, he wants to do good and help people; it’s in his nature. He is generous with his time whether that’s offering to tutor other kids or becoming a hero, he’d give his left shoe if it meant someone would be better off for having it. -

While living on Midgard (Earth), Loki met a confident young blonde who seemed immune to his charms. Curiosity urged him onward, and they soon formed a relationship that turned serious. In order to protect her from other powerful beings that might wish them harm, Loki empowered Sylvie and taught her how to wield magic. When she accidentally got pregnant - something she suspects may not have been wholly natural - the two decided to make it official and get married. They seemed like the perfect couple, and Loki was a very present, doting father in the beginning. He helped foster Vilhem’s innate magical talent from a very early age, teaching him to control the destructive force he wielded to try and curb the frequency of incidents like setting the furniture on fire during temper tantrums as a toddler. Together, they raised Vilhelm until one day Loki just disappeared. He removed nearly every trace of himself from their home, leaving behind only his wedding ring.
As a newly single mother, Sylvie returned home to her parents’ farm in Caddo County, Oklahoma. While his mother worked multiple jobs to make ends meet, Vilhelm grew up helping his grandparents out with crops and livestock, and has a special affinity for chickens, ducks, and geese. The privacy of their rural farm has also afforded him a safe place to practice and perfect the chaos magic he utilises.
Recently, it’s seemed like the world just keeps getting crazier and crazier. Vilhelm stumbled across a forum where people post about supernatural and occult phenomena. While a fair bit of it is just junk, there have been some credible events and encounters that went unresolved. When people started getting hurt, that sense of moral responsibility and a little inspiration from a hero who took on the persona of his uncle spurred him into action. Vilhelm began scouring online forums, watching streamers, and joining group chats to track the unexplainable. Thus began his own career as a young hero fighting against the occult and mythological that threatened the world as the hero "Asgardian" in honour of his father.

◼ Queerness in the public eye Although Vilhelm is a twist on Billy Kaplan (Asgardian, and later Wiccan), I do want to keep the crucial aspect of his queer identity. Vilhelm is unlikely to be a hero as well known as Thor, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t face public scrutiny. I want to explore that as a hero who is also queer. I also have plans to add my own personal touch of nuance to the mix because he's the son of Loki who is known for fluidity in gender and presentation by portraying Vilhelm as FtM transgender growing up in rural Oklahoma. I grew up in a similar small town farming community just like Vilhelm basically 4 hours south in Texas, and I think I can bring an fresh, queer perspective to the character. It'll be interesting to work through Vilhelm’s decision to be an openly queer hero and the potential consequences of that as well as the positive outcomes.
