Mercenaries with a slant toward helping the rebels quite often.
An incredibly old ship that had been customized and refurbished over the years. A Breon HOY-39 Dayvan, originally, the ship's thrusters had been replaced with newer models, and the ship's bridge and head were expanded to make a semi-circle shape and to offer proper room for lodging, smuggling, and a larger crew. The dual laser canons were replaced with a proper gunning turret at the bottom of the ship. Overall, the ship's old design and design for personal use leave it less than desirable for battle. There is very little armoring on the ship, but it more than makes up for this with the speed given by its new thrusters.
Skills:
Sharpshooting: Growing up in a remote farm on Saleucamii, learning to shoot was basically a necessity for basic self-defense. When things got boring, Jade enjoyed plinking and practicing her shot. She is a deadly sniper and a decent shot with blaster rifles and pistols.
Dogfighting and piloting: Years of experience driving hovercrafts and swoop racing geared Jade up for proper spacefaring starships, but Jade's skills go beyond that. She's a natural in the cockpit and flies a ship like she was navigating with her own body.
Hacking: Jade is far from an expert, but she's picked up the skill to get through electrical locks and alter child logs for ships. She's not going to be decrypting Imperial orders, but getting doors and locks open should be a cinch.
Leadership and moral support: Above all else, Jade's unwavering adventurous spirit and way with words are her greatest assets. She is a lifeboat in a sea of despair, and rouses the courage of the most cowardly. When the chips are down, just having Jade around helps keep people's minds at ease.
Weaknesses:
Never tell me the odds!: Jade lives for the thrills and pushing her luck is simultaneously exhilarating and has payed of for her in the past. As such, she tends to take unnecessary risks and doesn't think about failure.
Up-and-coming: Jade is skilled and bold, but she lacks experience. Some things just can't be taught, and Jade will have to learn that the hard way.
Soft-hearted: While she is a rough and tumble country girl, Jade's heart isn't as tough as she is. She believes in mercy, and a wise enemy could use this to their advantage.
Back line: While Jade is a crack shot, she has no martial training and very little experience. An enemy that can get close to her has all but assured victory, as Jade is not strong enough, tough enough, or skilled enough to fight a foe at melee range.
Personality: Jade is shockingly bubbly for a criminal. She enjoys her banter and has a somewhat impish nature. She seemingly lacks a single serious bone in her body, always joking, teasing, and making light of her situation. She is brazen and brave but not a fool, though she teeters on the fine line between the two.
That said, when the chips are down and the cards are on the table Jade knows knows when to drop this persona, because for all intents and purposes it is a persona. She acts brave and laughs in the face of danger but in reality she is a young lady falling down a dangerous path and she knows it. She may like to tease and prank but she takes peoples feelings very seriously. She can be empathetic to those close to her. History: Born in the last days of the clone wars, the earliest years of Jade's life were filled with strife and peril. Her family struggled as battles between separatists and the republic ended abruptly with the final orders of the clones. In the various battles that unfolded on the planet, Jade's brother was killed in the crossfire before she was even able to remember him. The planet had tried to remain neutral in the war, though once the Empire formed and claimed Saleucami as its own, very few denizens of the planet argued. Jade's parents were just relieved to be able to return to a life of safety and seclusion.
Unfortunately for them, their daughter was not. It wasn't immediate, but as Jade grew up, she yearned for more than just this humble farm life. The older she got, the more rebellious and adventurous she became. At first, it was just going into town, something she could do when the family needed supplies or to sell their produce. Eventually these little errand runs turned into a chance for her to hit the town: to dance at cantenas and enjoy the spice of life. She took up swoop racing when a boy who took an interest in her let her drive one and she turned out to be good. She did her best to keep this from her family, but the changes to her personality were noticed.
As jade grew out of her teen rebellious phase and into pining for a chance to see the world beyond her home. Chain codes and intense empire restrictions kept her from ever just up and leaving, but hearing the tales of merchants or other travelers who got to travel the stars and see the galaxy, enamored her. By the time Jade was a proper adult at 20 she had long since outgrown her old haunts. No one wanted to race her, the cantenas all seemed so dull, and Saleucami lacked any real entertainment.
Jade's chance to leave would come from another duros. A charming traveler she met in one of the seedier cantinas in town let it slip that he had evaded the Empire to get here while talking to her. That night, she bought his drinks while he regaled her with tales of his adventures. This was Dula Hura, a smuggler here to sell narcotics in exchange for weaponry stolen from the empire. Dula enchanted Jade, he was everything she ever wanted to be: bold, adventurous, exciting and charming. That night she begged him to take her with him. Against his better judgement he did, and Jade never looked back.
Unfortunately, time with Dula was brief, but it was a time Jade could never forget. Fleeing from her homeworld, Jade was disappointed to see how much of the outer rim was just like Saleucami. Sparse towns and farmers scraping by under the ever-present eye of the empire. The few places that weren't controlled by the empire were run by scum and villains. Dula tried to keep Jade out of the hairier parts of his business, letting her pilot and help with hauling but keeping as much of the actual dealings from her as possible. Still, no matter how protective the older Duros was, there was always the inevitable shoot-outs and chases. Jade quickly learned how to fire a gun to kill, and her relationship with Dula grew closer from their shared battle bond. Things were looking good for the two of them: until the Empire struck.
On a supply run to a small rebel faction, the duo quickly learned that the rebel cell had been discovered. Dula was ready to drop off his supplies, take his money, and leave but the rebels offered him additional payment to help them defend their humble base. Dula initially denied them, but Jade coaxed him into accepting when she learned there were children in the base as well. Reluctantly, he stayed to fight.
The Duros duo fought valiantly, Jade having taken a vantage point with her sniper rifle while Dula used planted explosives and traps to funnel the stormtroopers into the Rebel firing lines. The battle was bloody and brutal, and Jade choked at a pivotal moment, resulting in Dula being shot down. This would also be the first time Jade ever saw a Jedi in action, as amongst these rebels was a survivor of Order 66. Ultimately, the rebels won, but casualties were high, and the base was no longer safe. Wracked with guilt and grief, Jade's hatred for the Empire grew that day. She offered to help resettle some of the rebels, and amongst them she made a friend, another who had lost someone dear to them: their mother.
Jade used Dula's old ship, and with their new friend, she continued the same line of work she was used to, though with a significant lean towards the Rebels. Dula had worked for them purely for the money, working with Hutts and pirates just as often, so long as the money was right, but Jade now had a personal reason to do anything she could to take out the Empire. At first is was just supply runs. Then it was helping smuggle rebels safely across the stars. Then, she was another hired gun for the rebels, never donning the uniform and joining their ranks but seemingly always on their side.
Eventually, she was contacted for another job: to meet up with and potentially support the local rebel cell on Tregallon since they had been put under lockdown. It was the same as any other job to Jade, so she eagerly joined up, for a price.
I am more than happy to rework anything that needs reworking. It's been a long time since I've written starwars stuff, haha. Also man, gotta give it to Half Pint for the amazing character!
@Birdboy I'm happy with it, but if you want to hold off on posting it till @Taka is done, I understand.
I won't hold you to a personality section if you don't want to. I never include it as uh, my characters tend to decide their personalities once I start writing.
The only note I have on the history is if Rebel High Command sent them out to bring Tyrell back, it wouldn't be as a rescue since the planet was locked down almost immediately after 'his' arrival. Could you adjust it so she was sent to meet up with a local rebel cell, who would pick up Tyrell keep him safe and then send him back aboard?

Also want to echo the statement about writing Star Wars stuff. I've actually never been part of a Star Wars roleplay despite my love for it. Really looking forward to starting this!

My first foray into the original guild, many moons ago... and that actually caused me to look into the Expanded Universe, which fueled my love for Star Wars was a roleplay by [@Hotshot]. I tend to use the Exaron system for this style of roleplay in a small way to honour his sacrifice in GMing me when I was a noob.
I want to point out I appreciate that we all seem to be busy human beings and are taking our times with things, hopefully this means we can chug along quite nicely as a group.
I edited the backstory as you've asked and put in a bit of a personality. I just ran out of steam last night.
As I said not too worried about the personality section as I never include it for myself. As I'll write a personality down then the character is like 'Nah that's not me'
Do you want me too hold off on acceptance till Taka applies?
@Colonel Sep I can go ahead and throw it in the character section if you'd like. I do want them to glance over it and make sure they are ok with everything though.

Re-reading it, any potential lockdown of the planet will come after you arrive. Unless you want to try and infiltrate the planet at the start of the RP.
