I wanted to gauge the overall interest in doing a pro wrestling themed RP here, in the style of a classic e-fed. Some of you may have participated in e-feds before but if not I'll give a basic overview here since it works a bit differently than a typical play-by-post RP game...

Each player takes on the role of 1-2 wrestlers in the promotion, and one person (myself in this case) takes on the role of the booker. The booker sets the matches for the upcoming show, and then the players cut promos against one another to hype up the match and build the feud. Storytelling is also a collaborative effort, with the players contributing ideas to the booker in regards to the direction of their character. Promo RPs have a word limit (in this case probably 1000 words) and are judged to determine the winner of each match. So there's definitely a competitive element as well, but all in the spirit of fun. Don't take things too seriously. Sometimes, depending on the storyline, the winner can be agreed upon by all parties involved ahead of time, in order to forward the narrative. Again, storytelling can be collaborative.

Once the promos have all been posted and judged, then it's the booker's job write the matches and post the show. A lineup of matches for the next show is then posted, and the cycle continues.

My idea is to center the RP around a big league Japanese wrestling promotion, similar to NJPW, with major monthly events.

Here is an overview of the rules:

• 4 week cycle - Match card is posted. 3 weeks for players to post their promos. 1 week for me to write the results and set up the next card.
• Players may control 1-2 wrestlers. They may be completely separate, occasional allies/partners, or a dedicated tag team.
• No intergender wrestling matches.
• For singles matches, each wrestler may post 1 RP with a 1000 word limit.
• For tag team matches, each team member may post 1 RP with a 750 word limit, or the team may post 1 joint RP with a 1500 word limit.
• RPs need to be posted on time. It's a more casual schedule, but we still want to put out the shows in a consistent manner. When the match card for a show is posted, the RP deadline will be as well. If there is a major issue and you cannot make the deadline, send me a message as soon as possible.
• It is my commitment as the booker and match writer to get shows posted a week after RPs have closed. As the promotion expands, I will definitely bring extra match writers on board.

For a project like this to work, a decent numbers of players are needed. Probably around 10 to start to make it worthwhile. So whether you're a die-hard fan of Japanese wrestling, or just a general fan of professional wrestling, there's a place for you here. Much like NJPW today, the presentation and booking style will still have a great deal of North American influence. Pro Wrestling is a universal language.

Are we shooting for a single weight division like heavyweights or cruiser weights, or is it sorta just everybody going for the same big belt? And will we just cut promos and single wrestling posts or will there be behind the scenes stuff with our wrestlers in and out of character as well?

Totally gonna make a guy with a mask or face paint.

Holy shit, I'm pretty sure you and I were in the same fed on here like years and years and years ago, I remember writing a match against a wrestler like that. The fed ended up fizzling out so I ultimately left the guild to do some wrestling RPs on other sites, but that's so funny to hear you mention it now. Small world.

To answer you question though, this is an RP that will treat wrestling as completely "real" so we are focusing entirely on in-character promos and feuds. We will probably start with a men's division all competing for one World Title, maybe with a secondary title in there as well. If the RP grows, more championships can be added.

I'm pretty open to whatever theme people are interested in.

If we're going for Cruisers/Light Heavyweights I'll probably do some sort of Great Muta rip off. Keiji is my favorite.

If we're going for bigger dudes I'd probably either do a like chop heavy, slam heavy, old school type or an old character concept I have for an over the hill American Wrestler, basically Macho Man but he wears a mask.

I've joined a few RPs like this over the years so I have a few character sheets or at least like CS starters I could work from, depending on the general vibe. Maybe a tag team, or a like Main Guy and a workman/Jobber.

I'm pretty flexible. I have a few ideas, probably down to either like a foreign heel shoot fighter type like Dan Severen/Ken Shamrock or maybe a white meat babyface fresh out of the Young Lions.

Any specific character ideas you had in mind?

Most likely a striker or high flyer inspired by Dakota Kai or Iyo Sky.

I've tried keeping up with WWE, TNA, AEW, AAA Mexico, and some indies this past year but mostly just watch highlights on YouTube and a handful of different wrestling podcasts like Jim Cornette, Shane Douglas, Kevin Nash, Stevie Richards, and Eric Bischoff.

I was thinking of drawing inspiration from the younger Dean Malenko during his Japan run and Benoit during his Pegasus Kid days, and adding a dash of AJ Styles for a masked wrestler called Pegasus King. Red and gold rather than blue and silver. My knowledge of NJPW and AAA Japan is limited to what I know of American wrestlers over there, and a tad bit about the Bullet Club.

I mean I'm a pretty big joshi wrestling fan and I've done efedding before so...I'm curious
