Magneto (Team Leader), Mystique, Selene, Sabretooth, Archangel, Fantomex, Sage (Support)With the world’s mutant population in the millions, with a mutant youth culture vibrantly emerging all over the world, with large mutant settlements emerging on several continents, even off world, the old age of mutants had ended, and thus began the new age: Charles Xavier, Magneto, Cyclops, Emma Frost, and Jean Grey began discussions in secret, hidden in psychic conference by three of the most powerful telepaths on the planet.
What emerged was a shared vision of mutant nations and institutions, linked by mutual support and defense, anchored by the five mutants who would soon adapt an informal but widely spread name: the Quiet Council. The system allows for ideological conflict, cooperation against external threats, and free movement between factions for mutants. The structure of what would become their society was laid down during the early days of their conference, settling into natural roles in unsurprising places.Charles Xavier, optimistic but politically naïve, has made the transition from secret mentor to global civil rights leader. He has decided to take a step back from active leadership, declaring, “the dream no longer belongs to just me.” Recognizing that the generation of Scott, Jean, Storm, and even Emma have come of age as mutant leaders, Xavier has instead busied himself with rebuilding his school from X-Mansion to a sprawling series of facilities spanning acres and several levels, both above and below ground, welcoming in a far greater number of young mutant students at one time than ever before.
The next stage is being coordinated with Emma and Jean; to turn The Xavier Institute into a global network of mutant education, research centers studying mutant biosciences, and diplomatic outreach programs. Charles has begun to plan a secret interstellar mutant enclave in Shi’ar space.
Emma Frost took the psychic conference from a philosophical debate into something that began to resemble a real governing structure. Emma brought something the others did not: economic power, political ruthlessness, and institutional strategy. She immediately began to cooperate and coordinate with other wealthy or technically talented mutants to harness their gifts into economic power. The results speak for themselves; Charles has already begun relinquishing the global Xavier Institute network to her stewardship, giving Emma mutant education academies, mutant research and business development organizations, global telepathic networks (though to Emma’s irritation these still wholly depend on Jean Grey to continue to operate efficiently), and intelligence operations (coordinated with Magneto and Cyclops).
Cyclops has had a rough decade or so. Emotionally traumatized by possession from Apocalypse, and a long list of other likewise soul crushing experiences. What began as psychic therapy with Emma Frost quickly began a psychic affair between the two. The fallout from Jean finding out the truth is still, in some ways, going on: the two have separated, their friendship intact but uncomfortable with the emotional distance between them, his relationship with Emma more complicated than ever. Struggling with identity outside being the X-Men’s soldier, Scott is starting to see Genosha and his emerging role as strategist for mutantkind defense as new opportunities for something truly different.
Magneto is the ruler of the Genoshan nation, a controversial but legitimate political leader with millions of mutants migrating there, quickly developing into a powerful new state, on a fast track for UN recognition. He is more absent from the island nation these days, having reformed much of what was Asteroid M anew, though set further from Earth. While his friendship with Charles is re-connected, though strained, it is Magneto’s relationship with the others that define this new era of mutantkind; with Cyclops on Genosha and strategic mutant defense, with Charles on the science and grander cultural designs at play, with Storm on mutant relocation and resettlement.
Yet the defining relationship of the new age of mutantkind is that of Magneto and Jean Grey.
Jean Grey has emerged as a natural leader of mutantkind in the new age, in the way only a mutant can; by growing in power to unseen levels and doing so while retaining the core values of coexistence and love. Recognized by even Emma Frost and Charles Xavier as the most powerful telepath on the planet by far, with telekinetic power that rivals the skill and reach of even Exodus, Jean Grey is the bedrock of this new age, her telepathy underpinning nearly every major coordinated effort as Emma continues to establish new, supporting, telepathic networks in key mutant locations to take psychic ‘weight’ off Jean.
She has grown into something like a cosmic paragon of mutantkind—a figure whose authority is moral, symbolic, and occasionally cosmic rather than administrative, especially as her connection to the Phoenix is visibly, and obviously, returning in strength with ambient cosmic fire sometimes accompanying her power use. She has begun to explore and understand her connection to the Phoenix Force at a deeper, metaphysical, level.
Magneto understands the burden of leading mutants, understands immense power, isn’t intimidated by her. Both of them have spent their lives asking the same question: what does it mean to wield power responsibly? Jean leads the heroic X-Men presence in New York City. Magneto represents the hardline mutant destiny ideology. With Charles retreating from leadership, Jean and Magneto meet frequently to prevent conflict between factions, and over time they develop mutual respect. He sees in her the power to rule mutantkind, moreover, to do so easily…and yet to choose not to, and restraint has always impressed Magneto. Jean, for her part, sees his ideology as not about domination, but about ensuring mutants are never victims again. On this, they begin to agree more and more, though in ways far different than Magneto could ever imagine.
I'm a little surprised not all that much has happened since I had to split for a bit. I might be ready to try to come back in some capacity soon, though the whole "adopted Jason Todd when Dick has barely been trained/active" is kind of crazy. But hey, sometimes RP versions are a little messier, huh?

Strange was a prideful and exceedingly capable neurosurgeon, a man of science, who only turned to the mystic arts when a hand injury shattered his career and the life he had built. Clea was born to the mistress of the Dark Dimension, Umar, and her disciple, Prince Orini. She was kept away from the outside world, intentionally discouraged from ambitious pursuits that could lead to her challenging her mother or her uncle’s power. Her mother raised her from a long distance, seldom appearing but always judging and adjusting, letting it be known what she wanted. Umar saw Clea not as a child but as a project; perhaps a bad choice, but one that she might eventually come to love. When she met Strange on one of his trips to the Dark Dimension it was the first time her eyes were opened to another path in life. She followed him out of the Dark Dimension and they built a life together, each pursuing their own mystical knowledge, teaching one another, and fighting against threats. It hasn’t always been the easiest relationship, they are often competitive when it comes to knowledge, at odds with one another due to cultural differences, and not always faithful, but in the end Strange and Clea have realized that they are meant to be together. The last series of events came when Clea saw her mother do something she thought that she never would: ask for help. Shuma-Gorath, the devourer of dimensions was at the door, and threatened to devour the entire Dark Dimension; if successful his tendrils would begin to reach the earth also. Dormammu was too proud to beg, but even he knew what had to be done. Strange, Clea, and the Faltinian siblings rallied their allies and the entire Dark Dimension against the invaders. The combined front held, and Shuma-Gorath was banished from the land. In the end, it seemed like there might be a chance at lasting peace, to perform the final sealing spell, Strange, Clea, Umar and Dormammu had to form a magical pact that would intertwine the essence of their beings. Trying to fight after that would be a bad idea, but Dormammu launched a surprise attack against Strange and magical backlash began to erase the fabric of their beings. His physical form was shredded in an instant, but with some quick thinking Clea was able to grab the soul of Strange and contain it within the Eye of Agamotto; Dormamu was not so lucky and seems to be fully gone. With Clea and Umar remaining and not wanting to test things further, it was decided that the Dark Dimension would experiment with a new concept: representative government. Umar has accepted her new role a politician and plutocrat rather than godqueen, though if she’s ever elected and given enough power she promises to bring back the old times of absolute rule. It remains to be seen how popular that platform will be. Clea is now living in New York, having assumed the title of Sorcerer Supreme and living in the Sanctum Sanctorum. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) I’ve always liked the magical side of comics, and Clea is someone I’ve been wanting to write for a while. She is someone who might start off of the wrong foot, initially acting unserious or unconcerned, but she ultimately comes to her senses and realizes what has be done when the situation calls for it. I want to explore some of Strange’s anxieties when he is in the supporting role, he’s still wise, still egotistical, and still able to help, but his lack of physical form is something that he will have to adjust to. I stuck fairly close to the comic history but made some slight changes to Clea’s upbringing just in case anyone is lore-nerding here. I want the tone of this to be on the lighter side, I want to tell a fun fish out of water story, ask questions about what it means to belong in an unfamiliar world, and get creative with the ways magic interacts with everyday life. Clea herself has a lot to learn about people, being over a thousand years old but never getting to live a normal life. There will be plenty of time for cool fights, big threats, and the like, but I think those will be reserved for times when she helps out in a crossover or the occasional highlights, not constant features. Plot ideas: The Dark Dimension has come to bargain…a trade deal. These things can’t be all that complicated, can they, so Clea should just be able to handle it and patch things up with her mom, right? Once again, nothing is as simple as it seems. In the quest to restore his body, Clea comes across some secrets that Stephen has been keeping from her, secrets that will need to be confronted to succeed, but they are the sort of thing that could make her question if she actually even wants to restore him. |

Five years ago, I was bitten by a genetically modified spider engineered by OsCorp Industries. It changed my life. When I was in High School, I was kind of a wallflower. The friends I did have could probably fit at a single circular table in the school cafeteria. I drifted between two worlds, the art clique and the geek clique. We didn’t do sports. We built things, spat out ink on a page, and imagined a world better than the one we were in. At the center of that was one guy: Peter Parker. When we met, his mom and dad weren’t around anymore. I had just lost my mom. The angst drew us together, but we really stayed for the science. It was like we were meant to be friends. Maybe meant to be more. I don’t know. It’s something I think about, especially with a lot of what’s happened since high school in the rear view. He was the only one who picked up on things but he was always the last one to speak up. I think becoming a superhero ruined our relationship. I couldn’t handle being Spider-Woman, Peter Parker’s girlfriend, a scientific genius every college wanted, and the daughter of Captain George Stacy all at once. It broke me. I grew distant, angry, and lost. I’m still angry, if you believe the papers about the dangers of the Spider-Menace. The Daily Bugle also says I’m irresponsible, incompetent, and a threat to the safety of every person in New York City. It’s something I read every day and if I don’t read it I hear it, because the guy who runs it also loves to hear himself speak on his podcast. It’s daunting. But I have to continue fighting. Living by my father’s example. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) Yeah, I’m thinking I’m back. Gwen Stacy’s run as Ghost Spider/Spider-Woman is an interesting one. In my first move in my return to Worlds Collide I am interpreting her alongside Half Pint’s take on Otto Octavius. The idea is to share Spider-Man legacy worldbuilding as we play off each other and see events unfold in a shared universe. I’ve spoken with him and he seems favorable to such collaboration. So I am interested into giving it a good college try. N O T E S N O T E S |

Living by my father’s example.________________________________________________________________________________________P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S )
P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S )Yeah, I’m thinking I’m back.
So I am interested into giving it a good college try.________________________________________________________________________________________N O T E S

This is an involuntary ability, his eyes produce the beams constantly and cannot be switched off through conscious effort, a consequence of neurological damage that prevents his brain from naturally processing and absorbing the energy. The beams are not heat-based but purely concussive, and Scott has developed precise control over their width, intensity and focus despite their involuntary nature. - ◼ ENHANCED PHYSIOLOGY Scott's mutation grants him a degree of physical resilience beyond a standard human baseline, allowing him to withstand the physical strain of channelling his optic blasts without lasting damage to himself. - T O O L (S) ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ RUBY QUARTZ VISOR The only reliable means of containing Scott's optic blasts. The visor is fitted with ruby quartz lenses that absorb the energy his eyes constantly produce, releasing it in a controlled beam only when the trigger is engaged. Without it Scott keeps his eyes shut to prevent uncontrolled discharge. - J E A N G R E Y A B I L I T I E S ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ TELEPATHY Jean possesses the ability to read, project into, and influence the minds of others. This power was suppressed by Professor Xavier during her early development and has only recently become active, meaning she is still learning to filter and direct it. At present she experiences the thoughts of those around her as an overwhelming and near-constant noise, though her raw potential in this area is considered extraordinary even among other telepaths. - ◼ TELEKINESIS Jean can move and manipulate objects and people with the force of her mind. This ability is combat-ready and precise at smaller scales, though at its upper limits it becomes harder to contain and direct. At the peak of her demonstrated ability she has produced a fusion of her telepathy and telekinesis simultaneously, projecting psychic force in ways that go beyond either discipline in isolation. - H A N K M C C O Y A B I L I T I E S ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ SUPERHUMAN PHYSIQUE Hank's mutation grants him strength, agility and reflexes considerably beyond a standard human baseline. At this stage of his development his body still appears broadly human in proportion, but his physical capabilities in close quarters are substantial, with his agility and coordination in particular being exceptional. - W A R R E N W O R T H I N G T O N I I I A B I L I T I E S ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ WINGED FLIGHT Warren's mutation produced a large pair of feathered wings capable of sustaining flight at significant speed and altitude. His physiology is adapted to support this, with a lightweight but durable bone structure and enhanced eyesight suited to aerial navigation. The wings are strong enough to be used offensively in close combat as well as for travel, and Warren has developed considerable skill in using them tactically in both capacities. - T O O L (S) ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ BOW Warren carries a bow as a ranged combat option, allowing him to engage targets from altitude in situations where his wings alone are insufficient. - B O B B Y D R A K E A B I L I T I E S ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ CRYOKINESIS Bobby has comprehensive control over ice and temperature, capable of generating and shaping ice in virtually any form he can conceive of. He can lower the ambient temperature of his immediate environment, encase objects or opponents in ice, and construct structures of considerable size and complexity. The theoretical ceiling of this ability places him in a rare category of mutant whose power at its maximum is genuinely difficult to quantify or contain. - ◼ ICE ARMOUR Bobby can coat himself in a shell of solid ice that serves as both armour and a means of physical augmentation, enhancing his strength and durability in direct confrontations while protecting him from damage. - ◼ MOISTURE MANIPULATION Beyond generating ice directly Bobby can manipulate the moisture already present in the air around him, flash-freezing it to create constructs, projectiles or a surface he can travel across at speed. - | N O T A B L E S K I L L S & T A L E N T S N O T A B L E S K I L L S & T A L E N T S - S C O T T S U M M E R S S K I L L (S) ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ TACTICAL LEADERSHIP Scott has demonstrated a natural aptitude for battlefield command from an early age, able to assess threats rapidly, coordinate team members and adapt strategy under pressure. Even among more experienced fighters he is instinctively deferred to as a field leader. - ◼ COMBAT TRAINING Trained extensively in hand-to-hand combat and in the tactical application of his optic blasts, Scott is a capable and disciplined fighter even when separated from his visor. - T A L E N T (S) ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ SPATIAL AWARENESS Scott possesses an innate and exceptional ability to read the geometry of a space, tracking multiple moving targets and calculating angles and trajectories with instinctive accuracy. This gift underpins both his tactical thinking and his precise control over his blasts. - J E A N G R E Y S K I L L (S) ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ COMBAT APPLICATION OF POWERS Though her abilities are still developing, Jean has trained in applying both her telepathy and telekinesis in live combat situations, learning to use each to complement the other under pressure. - T A L E N T (S) ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ INNATE PSYCHIC SENSITIVITY Even before her telepathy fully manifested, Jean possessed a natural attunement to the emotional states of those around her, an instinctive empathy that now feeds directly into her developing telepathic range and nuance. - ◼ FORCE OF WILL Jean's ability to push through psychic strain and external mental pressure, even when her powers are unstable or being actively suppressed, points to an exceptional degree of mental resilience that appears to be intrinsic rather than trained. - H A N K M C C O Y S K I L L (S) ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ SCIENTIFIC INTELLECT Hank possesses one of the most formidable scientific minds on the planet, with expertise spanning biology, genetics, physics and engineering. He applies this intellect with a methodical rigour that makes him as dangerous in a laboratory as he is in the field. - ◼ ARCANE STUDY Alongside his scientific disciplines Hank has developed a working practical knowledge of magic, studying arcane principles and incantation with the same systematic approach he applies to his science. His ability to combine these two disciplines gives him a problem-solving range that is genuinely unusual. - ◼ HAND-TO-HAND COMBAT Trained in close quarters fighting, Hank is capable of using his enhanced physique to considerable effect in direct physical confrontations. - T A L E N T (S) ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ POLYMATH APTITUDE Hank's ability to absorb, retain and synthesise information across multiple unrelated disciplines simultaneously appears to go beyond what trained study alone could account for, suggesting a natural cognitive gift that underpins all of his intellectual pursuits. - W A R R E N W O R T H I N G T O N I I I S K I L L (S) ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ AERIAL COMBAT Warren has trained extensively in fighting from the air, using his speed, elevation and manoeuvrability as strategic advantages. He is equally comfortable engaging opponents in the air or diving into ground-level confrontations. - ◼ HAND-TO-HAND COMBAT Beyond his wings Warren is a capable and practiced physical fighter, trained in close quarters combat that makes use of his enhanced physique. - T A L E N T (S) ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ NATURAL ATHLETICISM Even setting aside his mutation Warren possesses a level of physical coordination, spatial awareness in three dimensions and instinctive grace in motion that marks him as naturally gifted well beyond the human norm. - B O B B Y D R A K E S K I L L (S) ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ COMBAT APPLICATION OF POWERS Bobby has trained in applying his abilities offensively and defensively in live combat, developing a practical and increasingly inventive approach to using his cryokinesis in situations that require rapid adaptation. - T A L E N T (S) ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ INTUITIVE CREATIVITY Bobby's approach to his powers is notably instinctive rather than methodical, generating novel applications and constructs in the moment rather than through prior planning. This natural inventiveness gives his fighting style an unpredictability that more rigidly trained opponents struggle to anticipate. - |
