Darth Sidious, the Dark Lord of the Sith, has been slain by Mace Windu's hands, and while this should be a celebration that at last, the master of the Sith has been killed. It only creates more problems. For Darth Sidious was actually Sheev Palpatine, the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic and following Mace's idea after Palpatine was killed. The Jedi Council has taken control of the Senate in a move to ensure the peaceful transfer of power to a new Supreme Chancellor. A decision that was met with mixed opinions from the public, the senators, and the rest of the Jedi. While some have welcomed the idea, standing with the Jedi as protectors as they are. Others are against this and believe that the Jedi have gone too far and they need to relinquish their control of the Senate. Even within the Jedi, the issue divides them despite reassurances from Mace and the other members of the Jedi Council that this is temporary.

Meanwhile, the Clone Wars is drawing to a close. For after the deaths of Count Dooku, General Grievous, and Darth Sidious. The remaining Separatist leaders on Mustafar have a large drop in morale with the loss of the their leadership and are divided over who should rule the Separatists. Which has paralyzed the Separatists' war effort and the Republic forces have gained the upper hand. Rumors of the Separatists considering surrendering are starting to circulate within both Republic and Separatist space. If these rumors are true or not has yet to be proven.

What is clear is that the Republic's future hangs in the balance, as it has been three months since the Jedi Council took over the Senate, and there is still no new Supreme Chancellor, with the Jedi Council making decisions for the Republic. This led to rumors among the populace of Coruscant that the Jedi Council's control over the Senate would not be so temporary.






Hello and welcome to the rp, so this rp is a what if, if Anakin let Mace kill Palpatine and followed Mace's plan of the Jedi Council taking over the Senate in order to ensure a peaceful transfer of power to a new Supreme Chancellor. However, after three months of control, the Jedi Council is still in control of the Senate, and so far, no new Supreme Chancellor. Causing tensions between the people of the Republic and the Jedi Order. Even within the Jedi Order, there is a divide developing between those who support the Jedi Council and those who do not. While the Clone Wars is still ongoing, there are rumors that the Separatists are going to surrender.

The rp will be about the growing tensions between the Jedi or the Jedi Council and the Republic as the Jedi Council under Mace Windu retains control of the Senate, and Mace's plan seems to be taking longer than thought. Putting the future of the Republic at stake. So while that is what the rp is about, there is room for people to do their own thing in the backdrop of the main conflict if they want. Also, the rp will be using mainly Legends stuff and maybe some of the New Canon stuff.

About who you will be playing, I am allowing people to make a character sheet as both canon characters and custom characters. However, if you want to play as a canon character, there will be greater scrutiny, especially if you want to play as Mace or Yoda and if you do want to play a member on the Jedi Council. Then, we need to be in contact with me to see your plans for the character to work. Besides that, if you go custom, then you can play what you want, a senator, a Jedi, a clone, or anything else. Though in regard to someone who wants to play a dark side user, none right now.

While other parts of the galaxy will be mentioned and discussed as the Clone Wars are still ongoing despite being near the end. The rp will start on Coruscant be centered there, but the rp will open up down the road. Depending on how the plot goes since the rp will be largely character-driven. While they are arcs, the arcs are mainly resolved by how the players choose to resolve them. So no one way and this will affect the rp.

Tragic Backstory™ [+]

Born on Dosh to a relatively large family before the start of the war, Zaall grew up on a planet where political debates were quickly becoming the norm. Almost everyone agreed that the Republic was corrupt, but no one could agree on what to do about it, or if anything could be done at all. It only escalated with the onset of the Naboo Crisis when Zaall was seven years old (human equivalent: 10-12), ending with the death of a Jedi, the appointment of Sheev Palpatine to Supreme Chancellor, and what was effectively a slap on the wrist for the Trade Federation. As tensions rose, people took sides as a new political movement began through the Republic; the idea to secede and start a new galactic power through what would become the Separatist Movement.

Dosh as a planet was caught between the secessionists and the loyalists, leading to heated debates and more than one street fight. Many left, including Zaall and his parents, though they kept in contact with his siblings who had carved out a life and decided to stay on Dosh. Tensions rose, coming to a crescendo with the Battle of Geonosis, when a group of secessionists that would later form the backbone of the CIS attempted to execute two jedi and a senator in front of the entire galaxy, only to be stopped with the unveiling of the jedi and their new clone army.

As the clone wars raged, Zaall found himself sick of it all. Sick of the rampant corruption in the Republic, but also sick of the senseless violence caused by the Separatists. His parents were Republic citizens, and so was he, but his siblings sided with the CIS, and would join a plot later in the war to capture a Republic Acclamater-Class assault ship named the Prosecutor, and would never be heard from again. His parents would go on to retire, having both accomplished their own personal hunts, and not wanting any part in what was happening to the Galaxy.

Zaall himself wouldn’t be untouched by the war, as a CIS invasion would hit his new home planet of Antamont, and refusing to let the droids march over his family, having heard too many horror stories of what the CIS did to civilian POWs, he took up a blaster and worked alongside other families to defend his new home. The battle of Antamont would last for mere months, but in that time Zaall would serve with valor and distinction, eventually being awarded a medal for valor by the planet’s senator.

Through it all, having grown up in a time of political strife, war, and constant brawls over who you supported, Zaall would want nothing more than for the whole mess to somehow… stop. It was childish to think the whole system could be fixed by one Trandoshan who was just tired of the noise, but he still decided to try, finding his ‘hunt’ in life to be one for change. Or, failing that, to help someone else who could. So, with his resume of having served in a militia force during the battle of Antamont, and being far from a persuasive politician, he did what he could, and went into private security.

Now, years later, Zaall has found himself climbing up to the personal bodyguard of a member of the galactic senate, and sees himself as closer to his goal than ever. However, he’s leery of the jedi’s sudden takeover of the senate, having seen their brand of ‘peacekeeping’ work across the galaxy throughout the war, having seen their handling of the Naboo crisis, and research into the numerous occasions where they tried to ‘help’. As far as he knows, they’re lying about the true identity of Sheev Palpaptine, and are acting to seize power while they can.

I think it works so far, though maybe up his age a bit since he did a bunch and is still that young.

A tall but otherwise fairly average human in appearance, standing at 181 cm with lightly tan skin and a slim build. She has dark brown eyes and hair; she wears several braids reminiscent of a Padawan's, to remind herself that she always has more to learn about Jedi ways. She wears the standard robes while among the Order, but has been known to pick up elements of local fashion while assigned to other worlds and carry trinkets from her time there.

Personality

Mari is in many ways an exemplary Jedi in temperament; measured, thoughtful, and diplomatic in her interactions. She maintains this calm through constant mindfulness, however; in truth, she feels very strongly despite her lifelong training, which has made the Order fear she will eventually fall under the sway of her passions and stray toward the Dark Side. The main thing that breaks through her composure is cruelty, whether it is individual callousness or something larger. She frequently bristles at systematic injustices of entities such as the Trade Federation, Hutt Cartel, or even the Republic in its treatment of clone troopers. Her anger is balanced by generosity, however; while she feels the urge to strike down the cruel, she often instead turns that drive toward helping those who have been victimized.

Mari Kellis had a typical childhood in the Jedi Temple, as her Force sensitivity was apparent from a young age. She was notable early on for her quick grasp of lightsaber combat and her intuitive use of the Force to assist her movements. She also had a strong sense of justice, though this caused her some issues; sights of cruelty and unfairness provoked anger within her, a trait recognized as particularly dangerous.
When it came time for her to become a Padawan, she was passed over by most available Jedi due to her continuing struggle to master her emotions and find the inner peace of a Jedi. Master Mace Windu did not overlook her, though; he saw that Mari's fury was directed when it rose, and he saw the opportunity for her to channel it toward worthy ends. He taught her his own techniques for maintaining focus and a connection to the Light Side even when emotions ran irrepressibly high, and the pull of the Dark could be felt. Toward the end of her training, he even chose to teach her Vaapad, the form of lightsaber combat he had adapted to find the edge of darkness without going over. Mari's lightsabers burn violet in honor of her master's unique teachings, and his words frequently guide her actions.
After passing the Trials, Mari was granted the rank of Knight, but suspicion of her continued despite the honor of being trained by Master Windu. She was frequently assigned to missions that took place in hostile territory, where her "overly passionate" nature would be less of an issue than it would in more civilized space.

Kol Nax prefers Vibroblades over Blasters because he sees blasters as too impersonal. He believes that the point of fighting is to win a fight, not demonstration of fancy technique. He doesn't care about politics, seeing governments as a big source of Bounties that he can cash in on. However, he refuses to join the Guild, as many lucrative Bounties are posted by individuals who do not go through Guild channels. He also refuses to take Bounties posted by pirates due to his home being destroyed by scum like them.

Background
Born on the Outer Rim world Zegara, Kol Nax was born in Lucky Barrens, one of the larger ore mining towns on the planet. Kol thought that he has nothing forward to look forward to in life than mining ore for the rest of his life like his father. This all changed when he and several others returned late from the mines to find the town reduced to burning buildings and charred corpses. Marshal Kekstad told Kol that Nurg Destree, the Mayor of Lucky Barrens, refused to pay annual tribute to a pirate gang called the Fire Talons and they had decided to make an example of the town before succumbing to his wounds, the blaster pistols in his hands having been emptied during the attack. Kol helped the others bury the dead before grabbing what few possessions weren't destroyed or stolen and headed to the nearest town with a spaceport. He sold everything except the clothes on his back and bought passage offworld, recognizing that there was nothing left for him on Zegara. He looked back at his homeworld one last time before the transport went to Hyperspace.

Kol Nax arrived on the volcanic moon Zeroth and was approached by a Kel Dor. The Kel Dor introduced himself as Xaa Gilas and explained to the Gotal that he was looking for new fighters after his last one was "accidentally" killed by his opponent, offerring him a big cut of the profit if he signed on with him. Kol accepted and was escorted to a small building. He was introduced to Nautolan named Zinn Leda and was told to change out of his miner's clothes. The Gotal returned in more appropriate attire and was handed a wooden sword. Kol Nax engaged the Nautolan and was defeated with fast and precise strikes, Zinn saying "Forget your preconceived notions of armed combat, of two honorable warriors fighting in accordance with some noble code. That mindset will get you killed. The purpose of fighting is to win a fight, not to demonstrate some fancy technique. How you attack and defend depends on your opponent or the terrain and situation. Act as the wind when your enemy is like a tree. Act as a mountain when your enemy is like the wind." before helping him up. Training would continue until Zinn Leda decided that Kol was ready, giving him a two-handed Vibroblade.

Kol Nax and Xaa Gilas arrived on the Black Sun controlled rogue planet Grilla and was approached by a Rodian. "Xaa. Judgin' by your friend's attire, I can safely assume that he is not here to gamble at the Sabacc tables or watch the Podraces. I hope he fights better than Dressk. Ax Phaask, my own fighter, is very angry that he won't be getting a rematch with him, so don't expect him to pull his punches if he faces your fighter in the arena." The Rodian said to Xaa in a hostile tone before heading to the arena. Xaa Gilas told Kol that the Rodian is Kragg Iantoc, head of the Star Ghosts (a gang working for the Pyke Syndicate), before heading to the arena with the Gotal in tow. Xaa paid the entry fee before heading to his seat while Kol Nax followed several other new arrivals to the waiting area. He entered the arena and faced off with Dug twins named Gowsara and Togan, both of them duel wielding Vibroblades. "Maroc Gek will enjoy seeing the look on his rival's face when we defeat his fighter and claim the pot for ourselves." Togan said to Kol before he and his brother engaged the Gotal. They were able to keep Kol on the backfoot for a while, but Toban grew impatient and struck at the wrong moment, allowing his larger opponent to block the blade and knock him to the ground, Gowsara quickly being defeated without his brother to keep the Gotal distracted. Kol Nax would defeat gladiator after gladiator until he found himself facing off with Koarrgh, a Kaleesh on the payroll of Galba The Hutt. Koarrgh told Kol that he expects him to put up a better fight than Ax Phaask before charging at the Gotal. The two fighters clashed, exchanging blow after blow until Koarrgh found an opening and landed a blow that knocked out his less experienced opponent.

Kol Nax opened his eyes to find himself in a Bacta Tank aboard a ship, Xaa Gilas telling him that the Gotal would now be working for Galba The Hutt before leaving. Kol assumed that he would be reduced to breaking the legs of debtors once he was fully recovered. Instead, he was tasked with helping Koarrgh bring in Crimdan Grast, a Devaronian who had split off from Galba's organization to form his own gang and began encroaching on the Hutt's remaining territory on Halmon Station. The Gotal accepted the mission, changed into clothingmore suitable for the mission, and headed to Grast's Bar where the head of the Grast Consortium held court as soon as Galba's vessel had docked with the station. Kol Nax was surprised that he was able to walk there without encountering any of Crimdan Grast's thugs and even more surprised when the bouncer let him and Koarrgh into the bar without confiscating their weapons.

Crimdan cleared his throat to speak as he smiled at Kol. "You must be Galba The Hutt's new errand boy. I knew you worked for him the moment the Moon Jewels dropped out of hyperspace. The old slug must be desperate to send his campion and some unproven muscle after a small-timer like me. Every day his condition gets worse. He is already too weak to directly command his top lieutenants while his empire crumbles around him. Join the Grast Consoritum and I'll pay double whatever he offered you. Refuse and my men will send your corpses out the airlock." Crimdan Grast said to Kol Nax and Koarrgh as several thugs pointed their blasters at them. Kol responded by drawing his Vibroblade and charging at the closest thug, immediately cutting down a Rodian, Koaargh slamming his weapon into a Gran's head. He immediately followed up by striking down a Trandoshan and thrusting his blade into a human thug's chest while the Kaleesh slammed the bartender's head into the counter. The fight continued until the surviving thugs decided to cut their losses and ran out of the bar. Crimdan Grast tried to bribe Kol and was knocked out for his trouble. When the Devaronian regained consciousness in front of Galba The Hutt, he begged for his life, offering to pay quadruple the Hutt's usual cut. Lazaal (the Duros who served as Galba's Majordomo) told him that he had already signed his death warrant. Galba died a month later and his organization collapsed, Kol Nax deciding to become a Bounty Hunter after being freed from his contract.

Kol Nax saw the face of a figure named Cornel Grim. The Fire Talons had attacked Black Sun and the resulting bounty had resulted in the decimation of the gang, with Cornel being the only leader left. He accepted the Bounty and immediately headed to meet with an Ithorian Information Broker named Tabbigg.
