TLDR: the party landed. they must now recover what was lost, find a way home, and survive
music: youtube.com/watch?v=odrarFKl4KM

The party had survived the long fall into the Deep, though survival had come at a cost. During the descent, every piece of metal they carried had softened, liquefied, and been stripped away, leaving behind missing equipment, damaged mechanisms, and bodies that could no longer function as they had before. They could see their metal floating away or creeping away as more of it finally honored gravity and pooled on the ground around the party. It slowly started making its way down hill as water might but much slower.

Michael was among the most affected. Without the mithril that had supported his body and powers, he could no longer function at a supernatural level or use his magic. He remained weak on the ground, partially covered in his own sick, and would likely require assistance before he could move far under his own power. His face was beaded in sweat and twisted in discomfort.

The party had landed upon a broad expanse of crystal, stone, and metallic growths. What had once looked like plants and water turned out to be liquid forms of various metals and minerals. Above them stretched the neon sky they had seen during the final portion of the fall, while far across the sea of liquid metal stood the immense central column that dominated the distant landscape.

Closer to the party, a bunch of nonmetallic possessions remained scattered around the landing area, giving the party an immediate opportunity to stock up on various tools, clothing, or supplies that had survived impact. Most items being of wood, fabrics, and fibers.

A short distance away stood an inactive chaos gate formed from black stone and crystal. It was partly covered in what looked like foliage but turned out to be crystal and other mineral oddly growing out in colors and shapes like natural vegetation. It was not too different from the ones all over the surface world. Its structure appeared intact despite not having the typical field of magic stretching across it and giving views to the other places it linked to.

Lauren would of screamed if she could, though the pain of what had just happened during the remainder of the groups descent was too much for her mind to bear--let alone process. The feeling of the metal screws bolted into her bones liquifying had sent waves of tremendous pain through her body as her prosthetics were forcibly stripped off of her by whatever phenomenon ruled down in these depths, the non-metal components to her prosthetics left completely detatched and disconnected from each other beside her on the ground. Her gun had been rendered useless with only the plastic body remaining, with even her mechanical owl minions left barren and stripped of the components that made them alive. The only thing Lauren could do was lay on the ground, tears silently rolling down the sides of her face as she struggled to even breathe through the pain. At the very least the iron in her blood was spared, though the severe pain made her wish it hadn't been.

A high pitched squeak barely escaped her open maw, every muscle in her body tense as it processed the pain gradually. Where her prosthetics had once been attached were open wounds and exposed nerve endings, though all were currently concealed beneathe the clothes she had on. Her gaze was locked onto the fake sky above them as she tried to stay calm, managing to take a deep enough breath to try and speak.
"C-can someone... Anyone, lend m-me a hand?" Lauren stuttered a bit through the pain, groaning and gritting her teeth as pain suddenly flared through her body. Without her prosthetics or her P90 she was effectively dead weight, as the only limb she had intact was her flesh and bone left arm and hand... And it wasn't even her dominant hand either. As much as she would of loved to hold out hope that her prosthetics would eventually return to her, her gut feeling was that even her regenerative ability wouldn't be able to create a loop hole in this peculiar environment. There was no guarentee that any regenerated prosthetics wouldn't immediately be stripped away from her once more, so for now she'd need to focus her efforts on getting out of the depths... Or rather, staying out of the groups way as they found a way out of here. Without the means to do so herself she would have to rely on the others to pick up and store her belongings, and thankfully of the few posessions she had on hand her duffle bag and invisibility cloak remained unaffected.

A dull ache permeated every fiber of her being, even after the healing magic. Yumi groaned as she tried to take stock of her situation. She didn't seem to be falling anymore, so there was that. She pressed a palm to her forehead as she tried to remember what had happened. There had been bugs, rocks, an angry disco ball. She got stabbed, and it had HURT. And then she had...

Ah...

As the memories returned, the warm weight resting atop her suddenly made a great deal more sense. Yumi slowly opened her eyes.

Yume.

For several long seconds, she simply stared up at her, expression blank as the pieces settled into place. Seeing Yume get hurt had mixed with the memories of the other Hikari getting hurt, and without thinking...

A faint warmth spread across her cheeks.

How unlike her. Normally she would have stopped, assessed the situation, calculated the odds. Instead, she'd thrown herself after Yume without a second thought, as though her body had decided before her mind had the chance to object. She awkwardly looked away from the witch as her cheeks reddened more. After a few moments, she mumbled, almost to herself:

"Urusei..."

Then, in an even quieter voice:

"...I'm glad you're alright."

As Yumi's cheeks deepened another shade of pink, thankfully, salvation arrived in the form of another problem. Her sapphire eyes drifted past Yume's shoulder toward the elven girl. All three prosthetic limbs were completely gone. The poor girl looked as though she were in incredible pain, and walking was out of the question.

Without warning, Yumi placed both hands on Yume's shoulders. With one smooth, surprisingly practiced motion, she rolled Yume neatly off of her, sat upright in the same movement, and stood before the enchantress had much chance to protest. She walked directly toward the elf, stopping just long enough to study the situation. Her eyes flicked between the elf's remaining limbs, her own frame, and the torn edges of her cloak. She unfastened it from her shoulders, and-

RIIIP

-tore a long strip free. Then another. And another.

Without a hint of hesitation, Yumi knelt beside the elf and began threading the strips together, checking lengths, tightening knots, and adjusting tension with quick, practiced hands. Before long, the cloth had become a simple improvised carrying harness.

"It won't be comfortable," she admitted quietly. "But it should keep you secure."

Yumi carefully secured the harness to the elven girl, making doubly sure everything was snug but not too tight. She then gently hoisted her new passenger up and secured the harness to her back. Once the girl was properly in place, Yumi slung her duffel bag around her front. It was only after she had taken several steps that she realized she had forgotten something and turned toward the elf.

"Oh yeah! My name is Yumi! Hajimemashite!"

Jareth
| Human | Ryken Adventurer D | Sandman | Mazerunner |
| Comrade | Champion of the West |

Among the heap of surface junk that trickled down into that crystalline abyss, a small pile of off white powder found its way to ground. It seemed to have a mind of its own as it slithered through the heap, gathering various deposits of its kin along the way. Eventually enough material had gathered that it began to take a small, yet familiar, shape.

A humanoid shape emerged from the pile as Jareth finally reformed. His hand raised to his face, rubbing it out of habit rather than any physical sensation. The sandman felt different somehow, but couldn't put his finger on it quite yet.

Pained cries from the opposite side of the pile drew his attention as he wandered around. Before he could find its source, however, he spotted Michael, looking paler than usual. Jareth quickly ran to him and was met with a peculiar observation.

"Wow, you got big...." Jareth marvelled as he, standing upright, found himself to be the same height as Michael in a kneeling position. "Hm...." Jareth's eyes looked down at his hands, and his now naked form. "I see." Was the only thing he could say at the realization that he had somehow shrunk by a couple feet. "Be right back." Jareth went over to the pile of junk and flung open a half-broken chest that had dropped in. With a tiny jump, Jareth's white buns and legs kicked into the air as he rummaged around inside. Tossing out various articles of clothing, he dug around until he found something suitable. Emerging from the chest (with a slight struggle), he draped himself in a makeshift, tattered robe and pants.

Returning to Michael, Jareth looked him up and down.

"You aren't blue anymore." he stated simply.
