If rogue is taken, I'll think of something else then! I'll reach back in a few hours after some brainstorming.

Ooh, is Grim Hollow content allowed?

Sounds good. ^_^

I’ll have to look over the Grim Hollow content first. Just send over the content you want to use for approval.

For your brainstorming consideration: The module is very fairytale-esque when it comes to atmosphere. Both light-hearted shenanigans and dark moments have taken place in the game so far.

Yay! Will do! The Grim Hollow bit I'm thinking is the Barbarian Subclass, Path of the Primal Spirit, which basically gives you a companion animal. I'll probably do a Kenku still, and have her have some faewild esqu animal that she's bonded with spiritually.

Ngl, if I could get away with using the Transformation system to play a werewolf or fox, I would. But I think a Kenku with some faewild companion would be fun, and I think this barb sub seems fun to play!

I take it you are unfamiliar with Shifters then?

Oh, I'm completely familiar with them, and I was thinking of that route too. Actually, I'm torn between the two. A Shifter would make more sense for a barb though

No worries! You’re good. ^_^

But I do want to double check with you: You want to play a Barbarian? There is a Wild Magic Barbarian in the party. ^^”

Aye, I want to play this one cause of the interesting focus of barbarian and companion.

Ooooh, I just realized what you said... I'm a bit slow at times... Hmmm... that is a good point. Hmmm... maybe I'll do a Kenku faelock

Would fit the faewild feel, or ranger Drakewarden (would be cool if the Drake could be flavored as a griffon~?)

For what it's worth; After looking it over, the subclass seems balanced. Underpowered, if anything, by modern D&D subclass standards.
The guardian-variant companion is pretty tanky and makes for a good shield, but using it to shield squishier party members limits its damage output. The offensive variant is slightly more damage than using a BA for an off hand attack, but apart from the land bound form basically making itself a flanking companion without asking, it's not especially potent.

The rest of the class is just niche utility that could be covered by a Find Familiar spell.

Except unless you pick a chainlock, you're pretty restricted as to what you can do with your familiar. For example, your familiar cant attack. This gives some of that familiar abilities like possession, but the biggest perk is that it grows with you. Your familiar will always be the same weak raven or imp. This scales up with levels, much like the Drakewarden's Drake, or Battle Smith's Steel Defender.

Add in the ability to pass on my basic dmg resistances onto my companion, which is also nice

Instead of making many posts in rapid succession, have you by any chance considered taking everything you want to say and writing it all out in one post?

You seem to have misunderstood my point;
The Utility offered by it - seperate from the combat capacity I spoke about seperately - is on par with a Find Familiar spell.

The ability to speak to it, "possess" it, etc. These offer utility options for exploration in line with what you can accomplish with a familiar. It can be used to scout ahead, get an aerial view, search dangerous locations, activate traps, etc.

And while they do level with you, their scaling is linear.

My point wasn't that the subclass is bad; My point was that it's not broken, as is generally the concern when discussing whether or not to include third party content.
