The World

World of Blood Compact takes place in "modern" times, although futuristic technology is accessible and may be included as part of your character's development and will be encountered in the rp.

Sometime in the last century or so, the world became keenly aware of the existence of vampires when a psychotic, rebellious, and powerful, oldblood vampire by the name of Magnus raised an army and basically tried to take over the world. A decade-long war was fought (often referred to as the Nightwars), vampires were divided, the SOLDIER organization was created, and the Blood Compact was made. The primary battlefield was the central United States.

What does all that mean? Well it means the war ended, and uneasy peace was re-established, and vampires were not exterminated from the face of the Earth. In summary, Magnus was defeated and presumed to be dead, but it was only by humans and vampires joining forces to confront him that this was possible. SOLDIER, for which we still do not have a sensical acronym, was formed as an agency to keep the peace and uphold the terms of the Blood Compact, which was signed in both human and vampire blood at the end of the wars. The compact basically states that the murder of either human by vampire or vampire by human is forbidden and punishable. SOLDIER employs both human and vampire agents to enforce this policy. Nowadays, the SOLDIER organization has been accepted worldwide and has headquarters in every country. Under their vigilance, peace has been maintained.

Grant Holiday

Appearance

Age: 100 years (looks about 21)

Abilites: Grant has extra powerful sensory abilites. He has extraordinary sight, smell, hearing, and has a better sense of touch. With his sight he can see things clearer, not so much far away. With smell, he can accurately his sense of smell to locate people and items. He can even determine a persons exact blood type. He uses his smell to sense if people lie. He can hear things and what people say much more clearly than average but his hearing isnt distance based. He cant hear things super far away, just in his vicinity. And he can use his sense of touch as if a radar. He can almost feel things without touching them. His can be translated into fighting, but Grant isnt much of a fighter. Grant can use his blood to attack, able to harden it inside and outside his body. can transform his blood into material weapons or shapes.

Equipment and weapons: Grant has a small hunting knife that he keeps on him at all times.

Backstory: Grant has never tried to shine in the spotlight. Grant wanted to live a normal life, and he had no wish of becoming a vampire. He turned one hundred years ago, while walking home from the store. He was a writer, and he needed more supplies and food. It was a quick process, being dragged into an alley unexpectedly, and being bitten. The vampire who turned him had not been one for long, and was just really hungry. He had hurriedly tried to feed, but Grant was able to get out of his grasp. They struggled for a slight bit of time, and some of the vampires blood had entered into his mouth, and Grant succumbed to the vampire and was fed on. Grant woke hours later, reborn as a creature of the night. Since them Grant has written over a fifty books under different names, and tried to avoid forming bonds as much as possible, feeding on animals instead of people.

Appearance:
Skills: A avid fencer, fine shot with a musket or pistol. Can sense the energy produced when a werewolf changes from wolf to human or human to wolf and the energy exerted when a power is to be used. Can hit a dot 500 strides away. Super fast, rather strong. Very clever, can think of a solution in a matter of seconds and runs advanced math quickly in his head. Good hearing, could hear a pindrop from a mile away. Super fast reflexes that he uses for when he has to get in close with his opponents

Name: Sasha O'Neill

Goals: To interview an elder vampire, and become a wold famous reporter. She wants to know more about vampires, and help anit-vampire humans understand that not all vampires are so dangerous. A very naive thought indeed.
Faction: pro-vampire
Backstory: Grown up in a peacefull human village near the Rocky mountains, Sasha had never seen a vampire in her entire life. She only heard some stories from her mentor who went to the big city's from time to time. Her mentor was what you could call,... well a vampire hunter. Killing them if they had hurt or killed a human. Bit of and outlaw as he was, he had many run ins with SOLDIER for they were not enterily happy about his activeties. He learned Sasha how to kill a vampire if she was ever in danger, something she luckely never had to use.
After working at the Daily Express, a lokal news paper. She decided it was high time to make her way towards the big city to fulfill her life long dream.

Powers/Skills: the pen is mightier than the sword, she has a silver tounge that knows how to sweettalk anyone. She knows when to keep silent and use her writing instead. Through her years at the Daily express and she has gotten many connections within the writers world, and knows who to call for what information. She is also a great tracker and knows how to survive in the wild to some extend, for she grew up surrounded by mountains and nature.
Equipment: pen, paper, a old shoulderbag containing ink, old maps and some devices that hold the known history of both vampires and humans.

Goals: getting rid of his chasing past, just living in the present towards the future.
Faction: pro-vampire

Backstory: From an early age on Noir only wanted one thing and that was to join SOLDIER to keep the peace between humans and vampires. He trained everyday with his sniper rifle from the age of 14, having a lot of troubly with the recoil of the gun in the beginning. He didn't gave up and by the age of 18 he enlisted and got accepted as a sniper within SOLDIER. The first two years in SOLDIER consisted of heavy training wich he all finished, with succes.

His missions consisted mostly out of managing intelligence information he gatherd during reconnaissance and surveillance, target acquisition for air-strikes and artillery, assist employed combat force with fire support and counter-sniper tactics. He truly enjoyed every kill he made, the thrill of putting a life or undead life to an end with a single bullet excited him. After 5 years of service he started to realize he had changed. In order to stop himself from losing the person he once was He laid down his arms immediatly and left SOLDIER without further ado. SOLDIER was not happy about him leaving for he had gatherd much key intel and also knew of a few assasination plans. In order to avoid detention by SOLDIERS rader Noir Youyou changed his name to Jean Belair, the name he nowadays goes by.

Soldier has put him on the kill on sight list, making him flee the country to Montreal. There he met and overly enthausiastic girl who convinced him to join the montreal daily and persue a job as a photograper. Something he enjoys doing, and he is rather good at it as well, earning him the nickname 'sniper'in the editors department, a funny twist of his bloody past. He has enjoyed this life for about 2 years now, still afraid to draw SOLDIERS attention he tends to have his partner take all the spotlight for their shared stories, something she doens not agree with compleatly.

Powers/Skills: Keen eye, he never missed his target, though his skills may be a bit rusted now. Basick military fighting

None of his houses are large he just has a large quantity of them. Main purpose is the storage of his treasures (he be like a dragon) and syringes and clothes.
This way no matter where he is he has access to everything :)

Profession: ex-Lumberjack, now he serves Nora and acts as her lover of some sorts and blood bank for her alone.
Personality: He can be suprisingly honest and doens't like to take advantage of someone. He is really respectfull towards woman and would never dare to hurt them. His heart lies with nature so when he is angered or troubled he flees to nature to calm down. He is madly in love with Nora and would do anything for her, exept for turning. He would rather stay human for a while.
Goal: To protect Nora at all cost and to finnaly capture her heart for his own. though it is very hard to do so.
Faction: Pro-Vampire
Backstory: After being accedenatly left behid in the forest he was working in Rick had two choises. Sleeping out in the open, wich equals death with the cold mountain nights, or find shelter. He foudn shelter at a mansion owned by a beautifull woman and he kinda sticked around her afterwards, finding his heart slip to her side more and more. He is nature man, he loves to roam around the place. He has a niece in canada called Sasha O'Neill, but the two of them haven't spoken one another in years.
Power and skills: He is rather strong for a human, though no stronger tha a werewolf or a vampire. He knows how to handle a modern bow and Arrow.
