I agree. I was honestly looking forward to this, somewhat. That said, I have no idea how I would go about making an RP about this...I do have some ideas about how I would run the 'classes', skills and stuff, but I'm not certain I'd be a good GM for this sort of thing.

At least, not without some help from some people so we could work out how we'd run things.

From my experience of the other RP I was involved in that had a GM disappear, democracy was actually the best system for working things out. Because the GM disappeared, it sort of left a power void and an idea void. Obviously no one person could just take it up but when everyone joined in, it worked. It means that everyone has a say so it does keep interest, build ties and ultimately makes a good RP.

As Gowi said before, just making an OOC for this is just flat out stealing so we can't do that. We need an RP that combines the original ideas and our ideas but has a similar feeling to the original one.

If we could get a discussion going with people chipping in ideas, it'll give Jabbers a little more time, keep this alive and if we need to, help us make a new RP.

Anyways.

Personally, what drew me to this was the setting and lack of stats/HP/MP stuff at the beginning. Or at least, the lack of information on them at the time. I would greatly like to get rid of all of those things myself, since any attempt to try and put that into an RP would only make things needlessly complicated and only eventually make everyone salty in some manner in my opinion.

I would also personally get rid of classes in favor of a more 'skill based' system where it depends wholly on the players skill at something, and not on numbers and would allow for more fluid 'class' advancement between 'classes', but eh, that's not exactly something everyone might be comfortable with/like.

So a bit like what jabbers was doing here, perhaps, but with a little more fluidity in eventually classing up I think.

Also, I would greatly enjoy there being more than human races in this.

Yeah, that's a good start! If we can just get some sort of debate going and maybe get someone to step forward and take charge of implementing all the ideas, that would work!

Also apart from everything, I second the multiple race thing!

Ultimately, every GM has a different style and an open discussion with them would be important. However, you have to consider that whoever you support will have different ideas going forward— and I sincerely doubt everyone will want to do a complete build determined by over a dozen other voices. I’d suggest getting into contact with those who have shown interest in leading and figure it out from there. Further sitting in this thread will be rude and as such I’ll unsubscribe unless Jabber suddenly appears.

Also on that note, I'll probably throw my weight behind @Gowi. You've shown yourself to be mature, respectful and also dedicated to this RP so you have my two cents. I know you had your own ideas and thoughts on the RP in the past but if you can take on the thoughts of others, that would be appreciated.

Also if you do want to GM, I don't mind Co-GMing.

Gotta be 100% honest here, and I don't mean any disrespect or offense to @Gowi, but I'd probably not participate in an RP that he GMs, simply due to creative differences we seem to have about what would be fun in a VRMMO RP (Permadeath, stats of any kind, classes, etc). It'd be the exact opposite of what I'd want in an RP, or even in an MMO itself.

So yeah, if you guys want to have fun with that, I'm not sure I'd be all that interested though unless we could make a compromise of some sort.

I think it should be 4 Attributes for players And then rank them by grade(D-SSS). Saves from all the number confusion and overall makes it more of a broad meaning. So if you have higher grade in HP then you will have more health then the grade under. I was thinking of the ones like:

-HP= Higher grade means Better health and defense.
-MP= Higher grade makes magic cool down's faster and more powerful.
-Strength= Higher grade means stronger damage with Melee weapons, Bows, and thrown weapons.
-Agility= Higher grade means quicker movement and faster weapon attacks/throws.

Take classes out all together, your stats build your class.Also I think their should be multiple humanoid races.

Honestly I rather have the story going in as we are all higher level players who just got stuck one day by what have you. But only very few players were on, like under 100. So everyone is there own little snowflake where all the stats, armor, and good shit is just for character fluff, the story lies around finding out what the hell is going on. Very much like the Overlord anime. But everyone likes their sweet character progression and SAO rip offs... so never mind this part.

Generally speaking, in an RP such as this, I believe Death is pointless and adds nothing to the story long-term.

All it adds is just short term drama that is easily resolved given time. There is only so many ways someone can react to death before it just starts getting repetitive from a literary standpoint. As someone who has taken a few psychology and similar classes in college, one would become desensitized/adjusted to such things faster than one might think, especially if its a constant thing. Unless that person who died is like, your best friend or something, most probably wouldn't even bat much of an eye to death.

The first time it's a tragedy. The second time its just unfortunate. The third time, it just happens and people have to accept that and move on.

Perhaps I am again, just being a cynical bastard with a slightly pessimistic view of the world, but I'd vote for another system entirely with more of a psychological effect.

But well, this is a discussion for another time I suppose. Don't want to start this whole discussion again.

Just had to say that. I've been holding it in since the previous discussion.

To be perfectly honest, I like your idea of perhaps already being a fairly high level and then just get sucked into a game world similar to Overlord, try to find out what is going on and maybe world domination or two.

There would be plenty of room for character development (even more so, in my opinion) than starting out as noobs that get sucked in. For one, you might be an OP Badass. Now what are you going to do with all that power in this game world?

Listen, we had a lot of good things going on here and Gowi is going to mirror a lot of them. One point isn't disagreeing entirely and I don't even think death will be dealt with that much if most of the players remain active and want to keep their characters alive!

All I'm saying is I want the original gang to stay together and this presents a chance for us! Why don't you just give it a little chance and we can see where it goes? C:

I have no interest in helping GM an RP or even provide many world-building ideas outside of the reach of my own character. If one of you does end up getting something relatively similar to this idea off the ground let me know, but I don't want to help build it.
