Bethany Bell

Asgard, River Near Baldur's Hall
Skills: Shadow Manipulation, Shadow Solidification, Improvised Weapons

Bethany looked over towards Guin as she complained about throwing a rock at her and shrugged slightly. "Sorry I wasn't sure if you were solid or not and wanted to test that." Bethany said jokingly towards Guin, though she had a feeling that she may end up regretting it later, she turned to stare at Runa's brother as she introduced him to the rest of them. Bethany crossed her arms over her chest as she stared at the Asgardian there getting the vibe that he wasn't really friendly towards them all. "I have a feeling that he doesn't really like us that much." Bethany said into the little mental group chat Guin had set up.

She stumbled slightly as Bethany felt the ground suddenly shaking when a rather large monster started to come out of the red mist that quickly appeared before them again. Taking a moment Bethany looked at Mary asking where they had been as she looked at Edus there, things were really weird in her opinion right now. "Ed and I were taken to that rainbow bridge thing when Klara's mother and her group came out and found us, we fought against some monsters when Klara came over to save us to." Bethany also answered mentally back.

The fighting quickly started and Forseti quickly summoned more monsters, she stared at him and then looked at Runa before getting a bit of an idea. Bethany used the shadows around her as the shadows turned solid around her and then formed them into a spear, she grabbed onto it and stared at the Asgardian and threw the spear at Forseti, hoping to injure the Asgardian only for him to dodge at the last minute. "Hey Runa, got your folks nearby you can call them over or something? Because your brother is being pretty mean right now towards the guests."

”We’ll nap after all this is concluded,” Antoinette decided. She looked around their new location again as Forseti spoke to them. It was a bit strange having so many voices in Antoinette’s head and then someone talking normally. Antoinette didn’t understand why Runa’s brother had a problem with all of them being there but it seemed he was the source of the red smoke and the werewolves.
The ground started to shake below their feet and Antoinette looked at the ground, trying to find the source of the shaking. She eventually came across feet, large feet. Antoinette followed the feet to legs then a giant body and head towering over them all.
”Whoa.” Lance quickly jumped into action followed by Mary, who made the ground shake again as she produced a whole forest of vines to ensnare the monster. Pietro’s comment to Forseti didn’t seem like a good idea to Antoinette and the group was rewarded with another two monsters. Antoinette surveyed the task ahead of them all. How were they supposed to take on three of these creatures and Forseti?
Perhaps those of us who have some telepathic ability could attack Forseti mentally. Antoinette had some ability herself with her illusion casting but if all of those who had the ability could team up and attack, they might be strong enough to take him down.

Runa Baldurdattir

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall
Skills: N/A

Runa blushed ever so slightly at Lance's wave - by Midgardian standards, she was a bit Victorian in her sensibilities. The thought that she had been with him intimately in Wanda's false reality - at least, in the implanted memories - only served to bring more heat to her cheeks whenever it arose. However, she couldn't focus much on matters of the heart, as her brother was uncharacteristically venomous, glaring at all those assembled and then summoning a creature so monstrous as to make Bilgesnipes cower. "Brother, why do you challenge the Midgardians?" Runa asked him.

Mary seemed to have her wits about her, combating the summoned foe with her command over plants. Runa winced ever so slightly at the damage done to her mother's garden - she didn't doubt that Nanna would somewhat crushed to see what happened. Forseti countered by summoning more beasts and it broke Runa's heart. "My parents should be at home - but seeing my brother like this would break their hearts..." She didn't want to have to fight her brother. She didn't want her parents to see him like this either. She loved him. But she didn't know what had come over him - was he being bewitched by some enchantment, perhaps? How had he become so powerful? "Brother, please don't make me do this," Runa requested, drawing her staff.

Guin Stark

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall
Skills: Telepathy

"Is that a fucking kaiju?" Guin blurted, as Runa's brother decided that rather than be Anakin Skywalker, he wanted to go for a classic evil wizard vibe, summoning the biggest and baddest creature he could think of. Luckily, they had their own classic character with them - Mary in the role of Poison Ivy, enchanting the flowers and plants and whatnot to ensnare the kaiju, preventing it from turning the X-Men into breakfast. But luck wasn't on their side, as more creatures appeared! Guin groaned, before complaining in the mental X-Men group chat, "I've got a bad feeling about this." It didn't help that the classic Star Wars tactic of tying up the large things had already been done and was clearly about to fail.

Guin then heard Annie's suggestion. "So, you mean me, the telepath of the group - unless one of you suddenly developed telepathic powers and decided to keep them secret for laughs?" Guin surmised. She had never really telepathically shut people down before - she hadn't had a lot of chances to practice her telepathy, nor had she really sought them out. Her entire life she had just been able to more or less coast by on her natural intellect and talent, she hadn't needed to practice or try at anything. Telepathy was the first thing where she wasn't automatically the best in the room.

Ed Penior

Ed couldn't help but scowl. With the whole damn group talking in his head he was annoyed. And now Forseti was summoning literal kaiju. Ed quickly summoned a shield around one of them and pulled it down into the ground pinning the kaiju down. He was hoping to also crush it. Ed had a feeling the creature wasn't real, that it was a creation of the stone so if he killed it with his magic this way he wouldn't feel guilty. The creature wasn't real, it also wasn't human so he knew the rule didn't apply.

He paused in his thinking staring at the kaiju. Then with a groan he mentally joined the conversation. "Hey does this remind you guys of Jumanji?" He felt dirty for joining the conversation, for forcing his thoughts into the mind of another. Breaking a law, even justifiably breaking it, made his skin crawl. Yes, he didn't make the connection and Guin wasn't family so she wasn't beholden to the same laws and Ed knew that. And the group could have this chat without Forseti being privy to it.

"Annie, not sure how well that would work," Mary replied calmly over the mental phone call, "Guin is the only actual telepath we have, not to mention the fact that his mind is likely protected in some way, or easily could be protected, since based on what all is happening, I'm betting he has the power of an infinity stone with him, so we need to be careful because he could easily bend reality to move things to be in his favor."

Of course, when she looked at all that was going on around her, and what Runa had also said about her mother with regards to the flowers and the field, Mary gave a bit of an apologetic look, "Sooo, sorry about the field and all, based on what you said about your mom, I'll fix it all after this if that's any consolation."

"I mean I guess maybe it kind of is similar? After all, Jumanji sort of messed with reality in a way too..." Pietro commented with regards to what Ed had said.

"Not too sure about that... Loki created that game, the physical version of it anyway that was real and seemed to work and do everything that the movie portrayed for it... Yeah it kind of messed with reality, but Loki kind of can do stuff like that or whatever anyway? Plus those were real animals, not some massive Godzilla monsters attacking us..."

"Because why not Runa?" Forseti responded simply to her with a bit of a smile, "Why do you always stand by them? They just seem so pathetic." Guin's attempts at a telepathic attack would hit a wall in Forseti's mind, and she was having difficulties trying to get past it. It was more than a bit obvious that Forseti wasn't going to back down from this fight, and Runa would somewhat manage to tie him up a bit with the darkness, but it wasn't quite enough to stop him completely from doing anything, but it was enough to cause him a few issues. "Runa, why are you trying to stop me?"

The Kaijus were not exactly being the nicest of creatures. One was kept relatively occupied by Lance, and it was having difficulties breaking free from the vines, and one was being stopped from attacking by Ed's shield and all.

Thing is, there were still two left.

One let out a loud roar, before it swung it's tail at the group, and it managed to knock back Annie, Guin and Bethany a few hundred feet away from the chaos. They would hit the ground hard, and would get several painful bruises from the landing, but they actually lucked out a little bit with the how much it hurt, but it was still fairly painful in general. They also all ended up with a few scrapes that were bleeding too.

The other one swung it's tail and managed to hit the rest of the group (Ed, Mary and Pietro, oddly going around Runa entirely) and threw them off into the other direction from where the other three had gone, and they also slammed into the ground with a thud. They'd end up getting the same sort of bruises as the other three, so that was nice at least for the moment. Mary more or less was just trying to keeping holding down the one kaiju so that it wouldn't break free easily and cause more issues, and holding it down while Lance more or less pounded away at it. It kept one out of the fighting, and worked well for the issues and all.

"Okay, this is getting annoying, and this is going to end horribly if we don't deal with Forseti, he can probably summon more of these things. Or something even worse. But it definitely does not help that we try something and get thrown around like ragdolls..." Mary commented, as she managed to stand up off of the ground.

'Yeah sadly I don't got any kind of telepathy either, the closest thing I have is clairvoyance which isn't really telepathy.' Bethany replied back to the rest of the chat as Bethany looked at Forseti again and then started to think of something. 'If he has that stone thingy or whatever on his person maybe we take it from him?' Bethany suggested as she stared at the massive kaiju creatures as Runa answered her question, one of them swung its massive tail at them. Bethany felt the wind instantly getting knocked out of her as she was sent flying a few hundred feet away from the others.

Bethany groaned as she looked down at her torn asgardian clothes that Runa had gifted them, feeling slightly bad but dresses weren't really her thing either. 'Hey Guin ever watch the Pacific Rim movies before, you didn't happen to bring a jaeger suit or something by any chance? Because we could really use one right about now.' Bethany asked through the mental group chat jokingly as she started to shadow travel herself back to where she was before, but couldn't. She mentally groaned and then started to try again and managed to get fifty feet closer back to where they were before.

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: River Near Baldur's Hall -- Asgard
Skills: Pyrotechnic Manipulation;

Well, my illusion casting asks for some telepathic ability. I’ve used it once like Guin does in battle before. It is fairly new but I thought perhaps if two of us did at the same time, it might help. The creatures turned their attention on the group and each attacked. Antoinette was thrown back with a few of the others and landed on the ground. She fell back, staring up at the sky a moment before she scrambled to her feet and held up her hands. Her eyes started to glow and sparkle as she engaged in her pyrokinetic ability.
Antoinette concentrated her ability on the creature’s face and head, hoping to maim it by burning or blinding. Antoinette managed to land a couple hits of fireworks that aggravated the creature. It was all very possible that she hurt it too and Antoinette was hoping for that as she aimed for another attack in the same area. Annoying it was one thing and would make it more angry. Antoinette knew it was a risk but she had to try. She didn’t know how they were going to take Forseti down but since he was the controller of these creatures it would be best but how did you take down an illusion casting Asgardian?
Antoinette made another attack that yielded much of the same result as the first time. Well, at least she was making some progress, right?

Runa Baldurdattir

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall
Skills: Darkness Manipulation, Darkness Constructs

Runa nodded slightly at what Mary said - she imagined her mother would understand and likely be more preoccupied with what had happened to Forseti than to her flowers. "I'm sure she would appreciate that," Runa told Mary. Runa sent out tendrils of darkness to bind her brother, managing to partially ensnare him as he continued his tirade against Midgardians. "I stand by Midgardians as I would by any sentient creature," Runa reminded him. She wasn't like Thor. She had never had a soft spot for Midgard. If it hadn't been for her love of Lance, she wouldn't have had much interest in the planet - certainly not more than any other person on Asgard.

"You know this is not just," Runa answered, as Forseti asked her why she was trying to stop him. The monsters Forseti had summoned were sending the X-Men flying around, yet swerving to avoid her. She couldn't deny that Forseti was behind all of this - and that her elder brother was trying to protect her, even as he was consumed by this madness and rage. She didn't want to hurt him. Runa used the darkness ensnaring him to pull him towards her - she was hoping that the stone would be visible in his hand and she could just take it from him, but she didn't see it. She wanted to ensnare him further in darkness, but it was impossible to bind him. "This pains me, brother," she said softly, before swinging her staff and hitting him as hard in the head as she could. It was a painfully strong blow, as her brother's head began to bleed, but he was still conscious. Runa hit him in the head again, but it wasn't as strong as the first.

Guin Stark

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall
Skills: Telepathy, Telepathic Attacks

Jumanji? I guess, but this is definitely off-brand for that franchise, although the newer movies are moving away from the jungle setting so who knows, maybe they'll head to Japan and have kaiju attacks in the next one? Guin was pretty used to having telepathic conversations with Pietro, but it was a little strange to be facilitating a group chat among the X-Men. She had left Runa out of the conversation mostly because she had started this in order to talk about how Runa's brother seemed like bad news - and she didn't think Runa necessarily wanted to hear stuff like that.

Of course, idle chitchat didn't mix very well with kaiju. One of the kaiju let out a shriek and swung its tail, colliding into Guin and she went flying. For a split second, she was stunned that Pietro hadn't intervened to catch her - he was usually overprotective like that - maybe this was character growth on his part? She didn't have much time to ponder it as she hit the ground hard, her body scraped up and battered, and she could already feel the bruises forming. I'll keep trying to shut him down. And if I had a suit, I'd use the suit, Guin then said into the group chat, forcing her aching body to get up into a seated position, and then to rise up so she was standing.

Guin slowly walked in the direction of Forseti, concentrating as best as she could on telepathically attacking his mind, to bypass the barriers she had felt earlier. The barrier was as strong as ever and she couldn't get through. She stopped walking, standing still now, and tried again, and for a split second, she was inside. Guin did her best to do as much damage as she could, but he tossed her out again quickly enough. And try as she may, she wasn't able to get back in.

Despite being hit by a tail and getting really bruised Ed was able to maintain concentration over his Shield on one of the monsters. It felt like it was close to slipping though. He focused and shifted the shield into thin wires still holding the critter down. He pulled on them, but couldn't tighten them. This fight felt weird. There was something about it he couldn't put his finger on.

The group chat was annoying and he wanted to shut them out. He tried again to pull the wires, still while the creature was pinned it wasn't doing anything. He sighed and straightened his clothing. Then pulled again on the shield wires. It worked better this time. He didn't think it was doing any damage but he had a feeling the creature wasn't going to be moving easily.

Okay, this was starting to get annoying, on multiple levels. Everything was making no sense. Now, Pietro was paying some attention to everything that was going on. All things considering the fact that they were able to even stand back up from that attack was actually rather impressive to him, though Annie's reasoning made absolutely no sense to him. He'd grown up around people who could cast illusions or something similar, most of the time that had absolutely nothing to do with illusions. "Uh, unless you can use your power to see into the minds of others so that you can tell the best illusion to cast that sort of thing, then they are completely different. It's only a one way street, if you are a telepath you can create more or less mind illusions where they are only visible to that one person, or several if your powerful, however if you are an illusionist you can't use any telepathic abilities. Does that make sense? Take this from the guy whose been around people with various versions of those sort of powers for most of his life."

"Arguing about this isn't going to fix anything as we need to start trying to fight what all is going on here okay? You know, the whole we are going to potentially get squished or whatever by Godzilla's cousins?" Mary said, and she really was getting annoyed with everything that was going on. Currently they had issues to deal with, and not just them arguing over technicalities. Not to mention what was going on back where Runa and Forseti were. They all were fairly far away from those two, and the monsters (hooray?), so Mary figured she might as well get closer so she'd be able to potentially do more currently. Yeah, getting closer to the monsters and all of the chaos, made perfect sense right?

Vines wrapped around her, and a moment later she disappeared entirely, reappearing a ways forward, but more specifically closer to one of the monsters that was still causing issues for everyone. Of course, she was mentally keeping a hold of the other one that Lance was still pounding on (he was making some progress but the thing was several times bigger than him), however it was starting to break free from the vines and likely would get free from it soon. Things were definitely not going to be easy at all.

Using her powers, she started trying to see about wrapping up the others, the two still free to attack the others if they weren't careful. Vines sprung up once more and seemed to wrap around the other two. They weren't very tight or strong (especially compared to when she was using it against one of them by itself) however it was enough to stop them for the time being. Or at the very least slow them down, as the monsters were already starting to fight against the vines and more or less pulling free of them already.

Forseti sort of just laughed a little bit at Runa hitting him in the head with her staff, "What exactly are you trying to accomplish Runa?" he asked, before there was a reddish light and he broke free rather easily of the darkness that she had used to hold him down. "I really do not wish to hurt you Runa," he added simply, before he more or less went back to ignoring her. However, a giant ball of what looked to be fire seemed to materialize in the sky above where they were, circling as if trying to decide where to send it. With a flick of his hand, it started flying off in a direction heading towards a target.

For some strange reason he really didn't like the wizard or the speedster, as it was heading right for them.

Jumping up onto his feet, Pietro grabbed Ed (not caring that it was a rather sudden yank off the ground) and raced to the side. Problem was, that the more he tried to run, the bigger it seemed to get, as if it was chasing them. Okay, this meant that they'd need a different escape plan, since the fire was following them clearly. Unfortunately this could still end horribly. Make a split second choice, Pietro more or less knocked Ed to the side and sped a little farther away (but not too much).

Then the fireball hit.

Somehow the fireball didn't light anything on fire which was a bit odd with it. But that didn't mean it didn't cause any damage when it hit. Ed by some miracle, mainly only ended up with a few more bruises and a few light burns as Pietro had ended up knocking him mostly out of the way of the blast. So that was a good thing right. Pietro got up from the ground where he had ended up getting thrown from the blast, and it was a little difficult to tell what he was doing, though he seemed to mess with his left leg for a moment before he stood up, and sort of walked over. "You okay?" he ended up asking Ed, he had a few bruises and burns and all himself, though since Ed was right by him, it was easier to see it, but it looked like he had a slight limp, and his pant leg definitely had blood coming from it, and it was surprisingly a lot considering the fact that he was even still standing. "Well that could have been worse, but I don't know about you, but I really did not feel like getting burned alive today."

Runa Baldurdattir

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall
Skills: N/A

Tears were pooling in Runa's eyes, as she couldn't believe what had happened to her brother. "I would lie for you, brother. I would have helped you to escape, provided that you stop this madness," Runa told him. "You need to stop, before you go too far - before you become something you cannot come back from, something that even the renewal of Ragnarok cannot undo." Runa was terrified for him, terrified of the path he was venturing down. She could feel something bubbling up in her throat - the urge to use Gandr, to warp reality, to force him to stop.

"I do not wish to harm you... But I will if I must," she vowed, before swinging her staff again. She missed, but on the backswing, she knocked Forseti in the head. He wasn't down yet and he had thrown a fireball at her friends, so Runa hit him again, this time putting extra force into her swing. Blood blossomed from Forseti's fresh wounds, as he was knocked to the ground from the force. Somehow, her brother was still conscious and he was understandably looking rather angry with her.

Guin Stark

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall
Skills: Telepathy, Telepathic Attacks

"You know what's weird? Kaiju aren't even Norse. They're Japanese. I guess Runa's brother is really into anime," Guin pointed out. Ordinarily, those sort of stray mental thoughts would've just been directly placed into Pietro's mind, but with the telepathic group chat going, Guin sent the comment out to every X-Man present. She couldn't help but wonder how much Earth stuff Runa's brother secretly loved, despite him making elitist and bigoted comments. She didn't comment again on Annie's telepathy stuff, figuring that it was beating a dead horse at this point.

"Woah, when'd you learn to do that?!" Guin blurted out, her eyes wide as Mary used plants to more or less seemingly teleport herself. Runa's evil brother decided to do more classic acts of evil, as he lobbed a fireball at Pietro and Edus. Guin was connected to their minds, so she knew that neither of them had died or been knocked out, a huge relief to her. But she didn't have time to fret over her husband and the wizard - Runa had bashed Forseti's head considerably and the Asgardian was uniquely vulnerable. "Babe, you okay?" Guin asked Pietro, as she ran towards the Asgardian. She telepathically attacked Forseti, diving into his mind and managing to do a significant amount of damage. He was still fighting her, however, and Guin couldn't force him to fall asleep. Instead, she kicked him in the head, hoping to shut him down the old fashioned way, but he was still awake.

Bethany closed her eyes and then started to shadow travel herself again getting closer towards one of the massive kaiju like monsters and then held out her arms as she started to use her shadows and the massive creature's shadows as well. She managed to tie the creature down as well, securing it as best as she could, but it really wasnt her best work. 'I'd rather not get smacked again by a giant ass space lizard's tail again, if we can knock out Runa's brother sooner the better.' Bethany said through the mental link to everyone.

Beth turned to see Runa smacking her brother as hard as she could with her staff making her wince slightly seeing him bleeding a bit from the hit as well. She hoped that Runa would be able to take out her brother as Guin came over and kicked him in the head, seeing the Asgardian looking rather pissed off now. "Uh I think you guys are making him even madder than he is right now." Beth called out to Runa and Guin.

Antoinette frowned a little frustrated that her companions were ragging on her for trying to help. She may not be a telepath like Guin but she still had some ability. She could manipulate minds as well as cause them to have sensory changes that weren’t really there. The creatures seemed to be leaving her alone for the moment so Antoinette turned her attention to Forseti.
It looked like Guin had made a significant amount of progress with Forseti, combined with Runa hitting her brother, Antoinette was sure he wouldn’t remain awake for much longer. Antoinette walked closer, focusing on Forseti and the space around him. She reached for his mind in an attempt to manipulate his mind and silence him. They were getting closer to stopping this but they were also running out of time.

Ed Penior

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall

Miraculously, despite the near-death experience, Ed maintained his concentration on the creature he held down. While he felt like he wasn't doing enough in this fight since all he had done was hold the creature down, it felt like something at least. It was one less monster trying to kill them.

"Thank you, Pietro." He said. Ed noticed the damage on Pietro and started trying to heal him. The orange glow that left his hand wasn't enough. "Uh, Pietro. Your leg is really damaged. How are you even walking on that?" He asked. There was a risk that if he healed it right now it could be permanently damaged. Ed's sister could have done it, but not Ed. He wasn't a good enough healer. It had only been since he joined the X-Men that he needed to use his healing a lot. This was something Lance would need to look at before he felt confident in healing the leg.

"I heal quickly, typically anyway," Pietro responded to Ed, wincing a bit from the pain. "Already poked the bone back in, though there is a problem with healing at super speed. If it heals wrong then it might have to get broken again in order to properly heal it... Which I don't know about you, but I don't think we really have time to set it properly, so that is going to be a pain to deal with later... Yeah, I know, I shouldn't be standing or walking on it, but we have other things to worry about currently right? We can fix a broken leg later, fixing us being dead or something is a hell of a lot harder." Yeah, it would be beyond obvious that the injury was bugging him, since he definitely wasn't putting much weight on it. So hopefully they didn't have to go racing around too much right?

"I'm fine Guina, I've had worse," Pietro said to everyone else over the telepathy thing, though his voice was a bit strained, since it did hurt a lot to him.

"...I've always been sort of able to do it, thing is never really been needing to teleport across an actual field of flowers. All I really need though is a plant or something and since I carry plant seeds around, I typically can just pop there. Actually probably could teleport most places if I wanted to..." Mary responded to Guin with a bit of a shrug.

Forseti definitely was not thrilled by everything that was occurring. Annie's illusion would go off to Forseti, however it was more then a bit obvious that he didn't believe the illusion that she had created, more or less ignoring it. "Why fight against me Runa, really, you aren't much of a fighter anyway," he commented a bit coldly as he stood up off of the ground. He was getting beyond annoy, and to him, they all were essentially being pesky little flies. Forseti had been a bit hesitant to fight his sister, however he waved his hand slightly, and Runa went flying backwards, slamming into the ground rather hard. "Stay out of my way Runa," he added to her.

His attention turned towards the three who were near him (Guin, Bethany and Mary) figuring that it might be best to deal with the more immediate threats. "Well, perhaps you all should stay out of things, and out of Asgard," he said to them, before he he seemed to create a bit of a tornado that surrounded them. Except the tornado was made out of fire. The flames weren't hurting the plant life (a bit weird still, but okay?), but they would all feel the heat of the flames.

Not to mention the fact that they would start losing their grip on the ground if they didn't hold onto something.

Mary instantly had vines spring up from the ground near all three of them, and managed to at least grab hold of one before the wind got too strong. Bethany and Guin would both be able to grab onto the ones she had sprung up near them, so that they weren't sent flying from the tornado. This was getting to be a bit of a problem considering the fact that Every so often, a bit of flames would fly out of the rest of the tornado and hit one of them, so they each were starting to get a few burns from this whole encounter currently.

"I do not see how you all think you can stop me," Forseti said with a bit of a laugh.

Now for the monsters, well more of just the one at this point. The ground shook as it moved from where it had been standing, and it lifted a clawed hand, and slammed it into the ground. Luckily for Annie, it just narrowly missed. Unluckily for Annie... It just barely missed her. The ground shook as a crater appeared on the ground, and it hit with enough force to throw her backwards again and onto the ground, this time when she hit the ground, Annie would end up with a rather large scrape along her arm from the landing. Yup, the group was getting beaten up more then a little bit, that much was obvious.

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: River Near Baldur's Hall -- Asgard
Skills: Pyrotechnic Manipulation;

Unfortunately, Antoinette’s attempt to enter Forseti’s mind failed. The man was far more powerful and the reality stone was warping everything within the Asgardians mind as he warped their reality. They had to shut him down. They had to get the stone from him but how.
The ground shook beneath Antoinette and she looked up in time to see the creature hit the ground near her, creating a crater beside her. The impact set her off balance and flying back. Antoinette scraped up her arm pretty good but she didn’t have any other damage yet, nor had she fallen in the crater. Antoinette considered that a win.
She pushed herself to her feet, looking up at the creature and the space around them. Her eyes began to sparkle and Antoinette thrusted her hands out in front of her. The fireworks erupted from her hands in a brilliant display before quickly fizzling out. Antoinette frowned and tried again. The second time she managed a hit but it did nothing to the creature but the third she was more successful with her aim. Antoinette hit the creature in the eye, causing it to roar in pain and stumble back in pain.

Bethany Bell

Asgard, River Near Baldur's Hall
Skills: Shadow Travel, Shadow Solidification, Improvised Weapons

Bethany looked towards Runa as she watched her get sent flying by her brother several feet away, and winced a little bit. "Remind me to not invite Runa's brother to any kind of parties." Bethany said towards the others as she was thinking about a way to try and end this quicker when Forseti started to create a huge tornado made out of fire, and sent it towards her, Guin and Mary. Luckily Mary was able to summon up some vines and quickly started to grab onto it. Bethany could feel the wind was really strong if she didnt hold onto it then she'd end up getting either blown away or getting sucked up into it and she didnt really want to get burned to death inside of it either.

Beth could feel the heat and the flames shooting out at her, as burns started to appear on her arms as she looked towards Mary and Guin as she thought of a way to maybe help. She quickly shadow traveled herself behind Forseti and then used the shadows around herself to make them solid and formed a small knife managing to stab him in the shoulder.

Guin Stark

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall
Skills: Telepathy, Telepathic Attacks

"That's been the plan, I don't think anyone was really looking forward to this," Guin replied to Bethany a bit sarcastically, but not in a mean spirited manner. She was however annoyed at Bethany's running commentary about how they were just making Forseti angrier. That was unavoidable. There was no way to kindly kick the shit out of someone - there wasn't a polite means to handle any of this. Forseti needed to be stopped and it was going to get ugly - it already had gotten ugly. No one was telling Forseti he was only making them angrier when he summoned those monsters to attack them. "Don't overdo it, babe, Guin then warned Pietro. She didn't like the strain in his voice - it scared her a little.

She didn't even know what to do with the information Mary gave her so casually, but she didn't really have time to respond, as Forseti made a fire tornado whip up out of nowhere. Guin's eyes widened and she grabbed onto Amidala with one hand, wanting to keep her space lemur from getting caught up in it, and she felt the force begin to drag her backwards. The heat wasn't overbearing yet, but Guin didn't want to find out how bad it would be if she was actually sucked into the tornado. Thankfully, Mary conjured up some vines and Guin was able to grip onto them tightly, keeping herself from sliding towards fiery damnation. "Fuck, that hurts!" Guin cursed, as some stray bits of fire hit her, burning her skin.

"I'm getting really sick and tired of this motherfucker," she complained, before using the focused totality of her psychic powers on Forseti, attacking his mind over and over again to do as much damage as she possibly could - but it wasn't enough. He was still standing.

Runa Baldurdattir

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall
Skills: Darkness Manipulation, Darkness Constructs

Runa's patience with her brother was wearing thin - she hoped this was just the stone's influence on him, but she wasn't sure. She was beginning to suspect that this darkness had lurked inside of him all along. She grew tired of answering his questions, knowing that she was just talking past him - he wasn't listening, he wouldn't heed her warnings, he wouldn't stop until someone would make him stop. "Our blood contains fire and life incarnate, brother - this is not your nature," Runa said, her final plea for him to see reason. She conjured up the symbol of her maternal grandmother, a phoenix made out of darkness, and flung the construct at Forseti.

The dark phoenix slammed into her brother, toppling him over and onto the ground. Runa threw two more blasts of pure darkness at him, one of them missing, but the other was true. He was bruised and injured as Runa flexed her fingers clenching her staff. She walked up towards him, not afraid for him, more of pitying him. She didn't know if her power would work - but she had to try. She couldn't treat him like a scared child - she had to see him as the threat he was to the Nine Realms. "You're powerless, brother. The stone is gone," Runa lied, hoping that one of her allies would reject the lie and allow her to rewrite reality to bring an end to this conflict.

Ed Penior

Location: Nearing Baldur's Hall
Skills: Thamaturgy: Shield

Ed kept the one creature he had under the shield wires pinned into place, though it felt like he was starting to lose that hold, he wasn't certain how much longer he could keep it. Keeping it out of the fight was an effective tool. It meant there was one less to worry about. He saw Annie fall, but she picked herself back up and was still fighting. So he figured for now she'd be okay. He could heal everyone after. Pietro was right. As long as no one was on death's doorstep.

A bit of damage control would be good, but he heard what Runa said and knew that someone had to contradict her. "No it isn't." Ed said loudly. He knew how Runa's powers worked and it was simple to see what she was trying to do. The fire was hot and the group was in danger. But maybe just maybe Runa, here in the garden of her family, would be powerful enough to contradict the reality stone.

This was getting to be a bit ridiculous, but hey, at least Forseti wasn't using his reality warping powers with the infinity stone to actually turn them into weird things in some way right? That at least was what was going through Pietro's mind with regards to it. If Forseti wanted to he probably could turn somewhat into a puddle or something, if he was super twisted person, well, more then how he is currently anyway. At least as far as he could tell.

There was a rather loud thud and a bit of an earthquake, as the monster that Lance had more or less gone up against fell to the ground completely, looking rather badly beaten up around the head. Lance ended up deciding to see about fighting another one perhaps, or maybe he'll go deal with the pesky Asgardian that's causing a whole lot of trouble.

Forseti was really getting on her nerves, however Mary didn't know where the hell the stone was, since they'd have a better chance if they knew where the stone was and maybe get it away from him. Obviously he had it with him somewhere, otherwise he wouldn't be able to use it too well. Though she was starting to feel the burns and all from the fire, and she was really starting to potentially lose control, but a thought did occur to her, right before she ended up losing it. "Guin, look in his mind for where the stone specifically is, that's our best bet. Get the stone away from him, and he'll be weaker and easier to deal with. Just in case Runa's powers don't work or something," Mary said to her mentally, figuring that would be their best bet currently.

They were running out of options, and considering the fact that Runa's powers weren't really wanting to work earlier, she wasn't too sure if they would work against the reality stone now. Of course, her brain decided to go a little whacko at this point, and she called forth black vines covered entirely in spikes and thorns up from the ground, sending them charging at Forseti in an attempt to hopefully get him to not do any more fire tornados. The vines slammed into Forseti rather hard, knocking him over, and that, combined with Bethany's stab and Guin's mental attacks, caused the tornado to disappear entirely. "You really are starting to get on mmmy nerves," she commented to him.

The monsters were being a bit problematic that was for sure. One was taken down, however due to the bit of a change up thaat had happened (namely Mary wasn't in control of her actions anymore fully) the one she had been holding down broke free from the vines and let out a rather loud roar. "Well this is getting even worse, you have to love how things are working out now."

The one near Annie really did not seem to like her at all, especially since she seemed to have partially blinded it. The monster started more or less stomping around, almost like it was throwing a bit of a tantrum, and just started punching the ground with its fists, trying to hit her, but it just kept missing her a lot, but because of all of the pounding on the ground, she'd be a little unsteady, as the ground kept shaking around her.

Over by where Ed and Pietro were, well the universe seemed to want to make it very difficult for the speedster's leg to heal correctly. As the one that broke free from Mary's vines had turned it's attention towards them. It was almost comical in a way, as the creature more or less charged at them. "...Great, here we go again," Pietro commented, before grabbing Ed by the shoulder and yanking him along at super speed, managing to avoid the monster, and now they were a lot closer to the commotion with Forseti now. Pietro more or less let go of Ed now and kind of stumbled, as once again, the bone was sticking out of his leg again, and the speedster winced slightly as he reached down and poked it back into place again. "I don't think the universe wants this leg to heal at all or something at this rate." he managed to say with a small laugh.

The monster they had dodged out of the way picked up a piece from the ground and chucked it at them now. It ended up landed just short of where Ed was now, and the shockwave was enough to cause him to stumble. Well at least they were closer to the person causing all of the trouble and all right?
