Mistborn (Era 1 or 2)

A casual-to-advanced Original-character-only RP based in Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn world. I don't have much experience GM'ing, though I do have a lot of experience with RP in general, and with this series, so if anyone is passionate about this world and would be willing to co-gm, I'd be much obliged.

I'm thinking that characters will mostly be mistings if we use Era 1, with maybe a couple of Mistborn or Kandra/feruchemists/inquisitors if there are people who can play them well without too much godmodding. If we were to do Era 2, Twinborn are totally okay, as are ferrings, mistings, and normal folks. Go easy on compounding, ideally.

Actual details would have to be hashed out between myself and a co-gm, but I see a lot of potential for an incredible rp, if people are willing to commit. If you have any questions, or are interested in co-gm'ing, don't hesitate to pm me.

If I manage to garner some interest, I'll throw up a character sheet format and an OOC.

Alright! Thanks for your interest both of you. Ideally I'd like at least a couple more players, especially since people like to drop out of these things, but if no one else expresses interest, I suppose we can start getting set up with character sheets and such. Whenever you get the chance, if you could send me a character sheet via PM in a format that's at least close to the one below, that'd be fantastic.

Additionally, since you two are the only ones here so far, do you have an preference as to era? Era 1 has mistborn, while Era 2 has twinborns and more metals.

@RiaxhSo, second era is pretty dope, but I'd also be all for a bit of an AU (though not by much, since Sanderson is a genius) in which all metals are available, and twinborn are a thing, but in the era of the Lord Ruler's dominion.

@Tybalt Capulet all you miss in era 2 are Atium, its alloy, and lerasium. All the other metals are available.

@RegitnuiKandra is 100% okay, though you should pm me your profile first, as being a Kandra is a lot more effective if few know about it. Koloss-blooded or Koloss are totally fine, too, so long as you can play them well. It's more about being able to play the character well than about potentially overpowered races/magic types. Since we're likely in Era 2, we won't have full Mistborn or Full Feruchemists.

Here's a link to a pdf from the RPG game I found that has a bunch of sample twinborn name combinations about 3/4 of the way down, if that's helpful.

I'm a big fan of the cosmere and its lore, but I've only read stormlight archives/mistborn and I've yet to read the Bands Of Mourning.

I'll start working on a character.

EDIT: Feel like we could do with more info on the RP premise for character creation. should we be lawmen or criminals? are we going to be in Elendel or out in the Roughs? that kind of thing.

@RiaxhI definitely agree for Character creation, and you all can add whatever details you like; I just figured some of that might be better to come out naturally/ be at the discretion of the writer.

I've read every published cosmere story of Brandon's, except for Bands of Mourning, and I've read some of his unpublished stuff. I'm a Sanderfan, but not a superfan. I haven't read the Steelheart stuff, or the Rithmatist, or the Alcatraz novels.

Here's my working Character Concept;

Appearance: Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Allomantic or Feruchemical ability and type: Suppressor "Blindfighter" Twinborn; Burns Pewter, Stores Tinminds
Role: Railway Magnate (Skaa/Noble)
Background: Stanley rose up through the ranks of a rail company, because of his uncanny ability to manage people, all while managing to somehow keep up with incomparable quotas. Despite having little to no connections at the beginning of his career, Stanley is considered a rising star on the noble stage, and is currently looking to marry into a noble family. He especially has his eye on the Lekal Family, considering their lucrative railroad connections. Also, while definitely not something that is in the public sphere of knowledge, Stanley runs a underground fighting ring where it is rumored that the victor of one hundred consecutive bouts is given the right to challenge the proprietor for primary shares in his company. As far as anybody in the already small circle knows, Stanley has yet to be challenged by a fighter of the necessary caliber.

Role: Discreet Courier
Background: Garret's reputation is twofold: he is bad at cards, and has never failed to deliver a package. Having proved himself by surviving many muggings, as well as attempts by employers to tie up loose ends, Garret's reliable No-Questions-Asked services and ability to squirm out of trouble have become especially valued by Elendel's sprawling underworld, who are never short on sensitive materials that need delivering.
