Shiranui pet Slushie in response and after Liam barely won the battle he commented to the Alolan Sandshrew, "Your trainer pulled through."

Slushie was excited when he saw his trainer and happilly ran over to him. Liam beant down and picked up the Alolan viarent to hug him.

"How are things holding up Shiranui?" Chuck asked his friend.

[James Davy]

"Liam just defended his title and I'm waiting for Ashika to be healed," answered Shiranui, "What about you?"

[Azure Flame]

"I'm pretty good. Wicke thought it would be good for me to take care of the final Type:Null. I saw Liam's match live with my Grandfather, and I did some training." Chuck said.

[James Davy]

"Here's hoping all your training would pay off at the Alola League," Shiranui replied.

[Azure Flame]

"Yeah. I think I've picked out a great team for it though." he said.

Jen listens as she take a deep breath to calm her nerves as Maui and Aura cuddles her.

Liam did his training as well. It was soon time for the opening ceremonies which was basically a feast and a group prayer to the Tapus to look over the contestants. The next morning as trainers checked in they were randomly assigned a number, 1-64 with a letter A-D. This was to determine placement in the preliminaries. This would be a series of 64 Battle Royals, the winner of each would move on to the actual tournament. It is also explained that until the Semi-Finals each match would be one-on-one. The Semi-Finals would be two-on-two, and the final would be three-on-three. The winner of the whole thing would face Champion Fetar in a full six-on-six battle. Liam was given the number: 11-A, so He would be in the 11th prelim match.

Shiranui was assigned 63-B and was partly thankful that he would watch some of the preceding battles.

Veronica got number 33-B which made her nod to herself as she fingered her Z ring nervously. But she took a deep breath to calm herself before she choose to get some training in before her match.

Selina sighed as she got 64-A. She would be one of the last contestants then, still this would also give her a chance to watch Liam and his friends in battle though she was more intrested in Chuck and Hibiki to see how the young man was handling such a pokemon.

Chuck got 38-C and palmed Hibiki's ball nervously. He wasn't sure if he should open with her, or Ariel. He knew he definitely didn't want to open with Papyrus, Cosmo, Jotaro or Omega, since the former two were ultra beasts, and insanely powerful, and the latter two were incredibly rare. He was hesitant to use Hibiki, since she was quite powerful herself, at the same time they had formed a strong bond between the two of them over the last week of training.

After two weeks of training the day came came as she checked in she got number 13 D. She guess the rumors of a blind person take part in the league must through them for a loop. She pets Maui as she check the place out as she decides which pokemon she choose for the battle royal.

"Careful there, unlike my Zerina, Your Hibiki can't hide its uniqueness" A familiar voice would come behind Chuck as Selina walked up to him, dressed in a more casual manner, then her ninja outfit while her Zoroark stood next to her looking like a normal Zoroark.

Zerina looked at him as she said "Hmm, I must admit I'm curious what Alexa saw in you to give up ... Hibiki was it?" Selina nodded at the name.

"Yeah. I don't know either. I mean, Hibiki was infatuated with me beforehand, being quite affectionate even though her master was my enemy, so that may have been a factor." Chuck said. "Although, Wicke also saw fit to give me the final Type: Null."

The battles soon began. Liam used Bastille where the other three had: Vikavolt, Alolan Raichu, and Kantonian Dugtrio. The Dugtrio took out the Raichu while Bastille defeated Vikavolt, and then beat the Dugtrio with the Ghost-type Z move, granting Liam spot 11 in the finals. It was annouced as a reminder that the 64 contenders would be shuffled up, so Liam would not necesarilly face the challenger in spot 12.

"I see" Selina said before shrugging as she said "Well, none the less, if you and I end up in battle toguther, I want to see you and Hibiki fight your hardest, after all, the pouchers and my mother underestimated you. I won't, oh and if you see Shinranui, tell him, Selina looks forward to fighting him". She then waved and left him on his own.

Though Zerina stopped for a second before nodding and added "Piece of advice for you young man, those experments done to me and Hibiki go quite deep and has affected our mental state quite a lot. While she may seem fine or flirty on the surface, theres a deep seeded hated and rage within her, everytime she mega evoles, that rage comes to the surface and the longer she stays in that form, the harder it will become to keep her under control and puts everyone in danger. Be very mindful of that, try to keep her happy and tend to her every need" She told him before running off to join her trainer.

Chuck blushed a little once she said tend to her every need and nodded, opting to use Ariel for now, saving Hibiki for the later fights.

Jen sees a pinkish red color and than it vanish. She guess some one had their head in the gutter before focus on their match. She notice Chuck near by and smiles at him before looking up at the board to see who battles next.
