Sully is very much a people person, willing to talk to whoever is willing to listen. He likes to laugh and joke but has no qualms about being someones shoulder to cry on. Sully had a very normal life growing up, two loving parents and a pain in the backside younger brother completed his family circle. Regular trips away and never wanting for anything made things exceptionally comfortable for him. His father took him and his brother to the Kanto Colosseum weekly to watch the pokemon trainers do battle. During these experiences Sully picked up little bits here and there, but never really thought too much about becoming a trainer himself.

On the way back from one trip to the Colosseum, Sully's father had to swerve their car to avoid hitting a stantler that had wandered into the road. The car span out of control before launching over an embankment. It rolled several times down a steep hill before coming to rest with a hard thud against a tree. Sully and his father managed to escape the car relatively unscathed, Sully only suffering a gash over his left eye. Unfortunately Sully's brother Jonah was worse for wear in the back seat, needing medical attention.

In the months that followed the accident Jonah was in a medically induced coma to allow his body to heal. It was a truly difficult time for Sully, even though his brother was nothing short of annoying, he was still his best friend. Fortunately for Jonah he eventually pulled through but now lives in the confines of a wheelchair. There is a procedure at an advanced hospital in Hoenn but the costs are far and above what Sully's family can afford.

For the two years that followed Sully took care of his brother and normality resumed, as much as it could following the accident. He never spoke about the accident, the pain of the event too much for his heart to handle. He just promised Jonah he would do whatever he could to make the money needed for his procedure. That is why he is on the OI Trainer Project waiting list, if he could make a name for himself as a trainer, just get one sponsor, then he would be able to pay for Jonah's procedure. That is why he is where he is.

Generally quiet, aloof, and keeps to himself. Some might see that as shy, but Victor is perfectly fine with people. He is actually quite the people person. He just likes to make the most of conversation. No need for frivolous jargon. Which is quite the juxtaposition to his favorite reading and writing style with lots of flowery prose and exposition. HISTORY

Born the only child to the owners of the Nacrene City PokeMart Victor was hardly without want. He lived a normal childhood going to school, playing with friends, and helping his family around the Mart. When he was ten he asked permission to go on his adventure like every other ten year old does. Of course he knew the basics of pokemon and there was plenty of travelling trainers that passed through the Mart regularly. There also was his parents partners, his fathers Piloswine and his mothers Machoke, to help teach him. After a year of proving himself he finally set off with a Pansage his father had caught for him.

As it turned out adventuring is much harder than it looked on the cartoons he watched on Saturday mornings. It only took a week to run out of food, get lost, and run low on medicine. Thankfully they ran into a river. Which meant if you followed it either direction eventually you'll hit civilization. What Victor forgot was a river was also a water source for wild pokemon. A fact he never forget thanks to the swarm of Beedrill that attacked Victor and his Pansage. He would have been lost for good if it was for the Pokemon Ranger that saved him, but Pansage wasn't so lucky. The Pin Missile that merely scarred Victor ran true for Pansage, and unfortunately they couldn't reach a PokeCenter in time.

After returning home Victor buried himself in study and research never wanting to repeat what happened ever again. Where most would fall into a deep hole of misery and depression Victor wouldn't let Pansage's sacrifice go in vain. The more he read the more it revitalized his need for adventure. Books on battling, books on fabled adventures, books about the history of pokemon, Victor read it all. Six long years, but it was worth it. He had read every book in the Nacrene City Museum Library. When he wasn't reading he was watching the battles in the Gym proper. After hearing of Victor's feat the Museum Curator suggested signing up for the OI Trainer Project. What better 18th birthday present is there than a letter saying you've been selected.

During his nearly 9 long months of waiting for a response Victor contemplated this very thought. As he waited he decided to write an adventure novel. He had damn near read them all he was confident he could write one. He was wrong. It wasn't eaxctly easy. Every attempt his adventure just ended up sounding exactly like one he had read or an amalgamation of his favorites. It wasn't until he received his acceptance letter that he finally realized that the best way to write an adventure novel is to live an adventure.

Rebecca Pierce, a fairly unknown (for now) but determined reporter is here for the scoop! She lives, breathes and (if she has to anyway) sleeps in terms of investigative, independent reporting! That isn’t to say she lacks hobbies or attention to anything else, hell, she’ll even have a bit of that energetic energy to those as well. But Rebecca Pierce knows who she is, who she must be, and who she is destined to be, and that is a damn good reporter.

Rebecca Pierce was born in Mauville City as an only child. She was not quite a latchkey kid, yet more often than not her parents found themselves extra busy working at Mauville TV. As such the young Rebecca Pierce would often hang around the studios, basking in the limelight of local celebrities, snooping around the station, and of course trying to see if she could hang out with her folks. And by hanging out there so often and so frequently she began to make friends among others who worked at the station.

It was due to this that Rebecca Pierce managed to obtain an internship for one of the anchors on the station. Sure for the most part she was mostly scrounging up coffee and the like, but she always had her ear open and her nose on the scent of investigative reporting. Around the watercoolers, the gossip flowed freely, especially bits and bobs that related to strange conspiracies. Some involved that one labratory, others referred to how the Team Galactic invasion years ago of Jublife TV was a false flag in an attempt to boost ratings.

These conspiracies, these rumors and innuendo struck a huge cord in Rebecca Pierce. She knew that the truth could not be found among these large corporations, they would surely try to bury them, so she went off on her own. And so Rebecca Pierce, the intrepid reporter began to set off, buuut she was stopped by her father. No way was he letting her go out into all those tall grasses without a Pokemon. So he handed her the family's youngest Whismur and set her off.

And so (Freelance) Reporter Rebecca Pierce made her journey into the great unknown of Hoenn interviewing as many as she could, and investigating on the report of the truth. But there was only so much information she could gleam from her homeland; so she turned to her web of contacts for potential answers.

Those answers lay somewhere in that region known as Kanto...

Malie is prodigiously lazy and shuns labor like a vampire shuns sunlight. Her dedication to sloth is so refined that she will work with furious precision and intensity in order to ensure nothing infringes on her naptime. She dislikes battling and always puts forth an absolute minimum of effort in her tactics, ascribing to an easygoing philosophy that doesn't put emphasis on winning as much as minimizing damage.

-Naps: There's nothing like a good three hour nap to cool off after a long intense day of doing nothing, and Malie's pokemon agree.
-Regional foods: Poffins, Malasada, and the elusive Rage Candy Bar are all regular favorites; it's rare she's seen without something to snack on.
-Dancing: Malie is trained in over twenty styles of dance including, but not limited to: The tango, the hula, and the truffle shuffle.

Dislikes
-General effort: Getting out of bed is just so intense.
-Cold climates: Because Malie's cold-weather wardrobe isn't comfy enough to ensure maximum naptime.
-Alarm clocks: Anything that prevents Malie from sleeping her full fourteen hours is satan incarnate.

History
Malie is a member of one of Akala Island's most established families, reputed for their skill in pokemon battling and generally being pillars of the community. When she started her trial at 11 years old, as is tradition in her home region of Alola, people thought it'd be natural that she would inherit the Captain position from her cousin, who was himself the youngest of his generation at the time. Malie, however, had other plans.

Captains only retain their rank until the age of twenty, so she could dodge it by simply taking an obnoxiously long time to complete her trial. Sadly for Malie, she proved a bit too skilled and finished her trial ahead of schedule entirely by accident. In a blind panic, she tried loaning out her team to friends in hopes of disqualifying herself from the position, but it didn't take. All seemed lost when she recieved a notification from the OI project that her ballot had been drawn, granting her the chance to have a second pokemon journey with a bunch of societal rejects who had never managed to have their own prior to now. She set to packing her bags immediately, with one thought on her mind:

If I stall this vacation out to two years, I won't have to pull Captain duty!
