So another idea is perhaps they separate DB from the rest. Could force Karina and Týfurkh to try to intervene. Talya steps in and stop Karina from following. Týfurkh goes after DB. DB escapes, Týfurkh gets captured. Karina seemingly defeats Talya, maybe knocks her off the clock tower

The rescue sounds like a good follow-up and DB will definitely come aboard as a form of atonement for letting the capture happen. @13org

Perhaps for added tension, he manages to get the message partially sent but is interrupted.

That's a good idea. The fact that the message was partially send could also create some interesting situations...

Also, separating the group also seems a solid idea. DB escapes, Karina defeats Talya but it's wounded in the fight and unable to immediately go after Týfurkh. Later they would make a plan for the rescue mission or something?

Currently with the above suggestions I'm just seeing some dynasty warriors shit of like DB trying to mow through the horde and get to the others but failing to get back in time. I was also thinking that perhaps they might get overwhelmed trying to protect Týfurkh and the tower. And they get dragged into a big messy fight on the ground or something which allows the cult to like capture Týfurkh.

So I'm thinking that during this Chres is going out with Octavio to get food, and the innkeeper mentions to chres about a resistance. They look for food but learn that the Cult procured most of it and will be handing it out to those who attend their rituals. Chres makes a stop at the resistance's place and works out some kind of deal or what not. Perhaps they have a small stock pile of food?

I like it, perhaps also doing some missions to try and like create safe zones from the cultists as well?

Also what about purifying cultists? is that something doable or not really? I had a stray thought about it.

Well... you could Destroy the Discarded of Sight. I may include ways to reduce the effect of insight later though. But that's long term story we are talking about and there's no guarantee the RP will last to the next arc. It's been lasting so far though, but I credit that mostly to the slow pacing :)
