Hey @Not Fishing, d'you think it would be feasible that Gary and David know each other? I ask this mainly because both our characters are jornalists, although David's already retired and probably has at least ten years on Gary.

How long has he been retired? I'm thinking Gary might be in his mid or early twenties.

@Not Fishing Probably for about a year, maybe more. David's in his early 50s and his work is rather prolific.

@DJAtomika I wouldn't say they know each other by name, but I'm fine with there being a bit of familiarity. It would make sense if they bumped into each other a few times while following the same stories.

@Rabidporcupine I assumed Jeremy had ran off to the kitchen right after being told to get a manager. But I think it's both hilarious and perfectly in character for him to talk about Jeremy like he isn't standing right there, so no problems this time. It could create problems in the future though if we just assume things without waiting for others to post first. Given the life cycle of a typical RP, I think the best option is to make assumptions if necessary in order to keep things moving along unless the thread has already fallen into the death spiral of slow posting/inactivity. But we should have at least posted something in the OOC asking you if that was ok first so you could give the gist of what you wanted to do even if you didn't have the time or whatever to do a proper IC post. So, sorry about that.

Nah nah, it's all good! I can write around other people's posts, even if it has me doing something else entirely! Also with the fact that I'm pretty sure I've personally killed an increasingly large number of RPs over the last couple of months through those very methods, I'd say that's perfectly understandable.

Also, Jeremy never runs unless lives are in danger, and even then they'll have to be pretty important lives in his eyes.

I think it's a stretch to say they were having a conversation at the point to begin with. D asked a question, but João would have ignored it because he's on the phone with emergency services and has more important things to do than chitchat with kids. :D

I'm also waiting for @Mokley to post before I do anything. Need to know if he found anything suspicious in the diner or if the runaway girl does anything noteworthy before I know what to do next.

Hi, all! I've been out of town the last week, but keeping an eye on things as they developed!

Having Jill walk in still seems like it would just slow things down and add to an already jumbled crowd. While the timing would be a little off at this point, I did have one idea…

@Mokley, what kind of bathroom are we looking at here? A single-use kind of deal, or the kind with a few stalls (which would still have a locking door so management could close up at night), and would it interfere with (or contradict) your post at all if, say…someone had already been inside, washing off the road dust, when the little girl burst in? :P

If you think that would work, I'd be happy to do a collab post with what's happening inside; if it wouldn't, no worries! Jill will find a way to skulk in eventually. She likely hasn't even gotten a place to crash yet, so that's another way she could be introduced to other characters—either out-of-towners who wind up staying in the same place, or locals who might help her find somewhere to stay.

@lady horatio Hey cool I like it! Let's say there are two stalls inside, and Jill's occupying one. The kid would come in, lock the main door, then also lock herself in the empty stall and climb up onto the toilet so you can't see her feet. Then she'll be completely silent and unresponsive. :D

Fine! Sorry, the slowness has been my fault. Mokely and I were doing a collab post, but I was absent for a few days, dealing with some stuff here at home. I just sent my next part of the collab on, and I think a mod post is coming next.
