[OOC] Ascension: Monster Farm

@Haeo While that certainly would be unique. I don't see how it would benefit the monster list by being an entirely joke monster.

Moon Tyrant

Species name: Moon Tyrant

Food source: The jewels dotting its body absorb moonbeams and ambient magical energy, converting it into energy.

Size: As tall and heavy as a two story building.

Natural abilities: The Tyrants crystalline chiton is not only hard as stone and resistant to attacks but sharp with many jagged edges it can use to attack.

Magical abilities: The jewels on the creatures body absurd moon energy and magical power, rendering magical attack almost completely useless. While it uses the energy it gathers for locomotion it can also deploy this energy in various ways. It can crate a barrier around its body, fire moon energy lasers from the natural cannons it has for hands, or unleash an omnidirectional laser barrage from the orbs located on its body.

Usual Temperaments: The Moon Tyrant is a fearsome creature, typically leaving only a mass of destruction in its travels through any populated area. Luckily a tyrant under normal circumstances can only be truly active on the night of a full moon, a time it will spend patrolling its territory and destroying anything that has entered it. While it can move on other nights when the moon is shining, its movements are sluggish and weary. The less moonlight there is, the less the tyrant can act.

Moon Tyrant's will always fight another creature it comes across, including other Moon Tyrants. These battle are terrifying to behold as the Tyrants' unable to damage one another with moon ray barrages as is typical, instead wade it to try and tear one on ether to pieces. These battles have the effect of scattering the ground with their precious jewels, and the battlegrounds are typically beset by prospectors on the next new moon looking to get rich off the bounty. This may be the reason the Moon Tyrant population has dropped off so sharply in the last few decades, as it is thought by some scholars that the lost jewals eventually germinate into more Moon Tyrants when left as they are.

Locations Found: The most remote parts of Northern Gaia.

Weaknesses: Seismic attacks can damage the jewels on its body where it stores its energy. It is completely immobile on the night of the new moon.

@Rai, That's the problem I was running into as I was thinking about it. Though, it would be an interesting concept for a recovery based monster. It would simply need to have a symbiotic relationship with another monster that had more of an aggressive or defensive combat role. It could even be colonial, much like ants. In any case, I'll leave it at that for now. We'll see if I can come up with a less exhaustion addled concept later.

I like it however I can see how its magical resistance can be considered too powerful. That would be more so for the higher echelon of their kind to straight up resist magic. Others will likely need to put up a magic barrier that can resist and absorb pure magical spells. More on what kind of spells and attacks are what will come up later.

At most it could be like a training puppet. There are some creatures that have origins of creation, like some puppet golems or what not. But they are either possessed by a similar spirit or were made en-mass.

I dont think she is quite experienced enough to get a water bubble barrier ability yet

A water shield is not a very effective shield though for physical attacks. To be honest the water nymph lacks good defensive abilities.

The water shield shouldn't defend the attack effectively since its like a bite attack I believe.

I intended for that one to be pretty awesome, since the other two were smallish and odd.

Indubitable Snowman

Species name: Indubitable Snowman

Food source: Water.

Size: Small enough to fit in the palm of a human hand to four feet tall.

Natural abilities: Gives off a natural chill, and can move as fast as a man by sliding along the ground while leaving a trail of water. Doesn't seem to have any vital organs. While easily smashed apart, being made entirely of packed snow, if the snow is not melted it can easily reform itself. If snow is taken from the main body and kept separate without melting for a day and a night it will become another snowman.

Magical abilities: Ice magic, able to give off freezing winds and blow streams of snow from its mouth. Larger snowmen are able to create projectiles of ice they fire from their bodied, or an icy shell to help defend against attacks. As the snowman uses these attacks, it will become smaller.

Usual Temperaments: Indubitable Snowmen, who offer the nutritional value of snow and thus have no natural predators, are curious and lively creatures. It is not uncommon for humans to be surrounded and gawked at by these silent and keen eyed monsters. They will bounce around happily, attempting to entice the humans to play and romp merrily with them. This had led to people bring unintentionally led deep into the snowy wilderness during these games, and in places where they but up against human settlements children are told to never follow snowmen. Nevertheless, they remain popular with children and seem to treasure the adornments sometimes given to them. A snowman that has been adorned seems to rise quickly in the eyes of their fellows, often becoming leaders of their family groups.

Locations Found: The highest mountains of Tearia.

Weaknesses: Heat and fire. While it is possible for a Snowman to travel outside of a cold area one should always remember to keep it hydrated so as to offset the water and body mass lost due to extreme temperatures.

The evolution of your monster is slow. So Absorbing the water should replenish some of their stamina. Also should go right through the water.@Mogget

Since it's a ball of water could Ack technically go through it like he did with the shield?

The water, unlike the shield, is in movement, so it may be pushed with the current or being pushed by the water around it itself via the manipulation, but that is just my guess. Im exploring with her abilities myself so i may have to ask @Rai on this one.

My view, without getting technical, is that physical prowess should over power ranged magic/ physical manipulation just to prevent early OP.

I imagine it would just feel like walking through a wave. Don’t get me wrong, a wave can push you back, but then you would be throwing the water to make it stronger. I also imagine the water source is limited.
In the air the water would have the advantage but on the land, with its many legs, I would give it to the bug.

The Acquizari is already close. The water shield failed to stop it. The waterball made from the same said water wouldn't have enough force or size to keep it from going for the Spriggan.
